Do Not Stay Here — Poor Service, Unprofessional Management, and Unresolved Billing Dispute My initial stay at Athens Central Hotel was already subpar. The service was terrible, the lobby felt more like a parking garage than a welcoming hotel, the views were disappointing, and the staff appeared poorly trained in customer service. Overall, the property fell far short of my expectations. Things got worse when I was charged for a one-night stay on September 26, 2026, despite not staying at the hotel on this date or authorizing the reservation. The hotel reportedly requires a two-night minimum. I contacted management weeks beforehand to dispute the charge. Angie acknowledged the issue and advised me to dispute it with my credit card company, but never followed up or resolved it. Wes was rude and hung up on me, and the owner was dismissive and appeared more concerned with collecting money than resolving the issue. I am still fighting this charge with a thorough investigation. I am also concerned by reports of lawsuits involving the owner’s student apartment rentals and encourage prospective customers to review public records independently. This property shows little commitment to customer service or guest satisfaction. There are plenty of clean, reputable, and hospitable hotels in the area. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else. I would not recommend Athens Central Hotel.

Two bedroom room was perfect for friend and me. Clean room, nice bathroom, friendly staff.

The light above the shower was out in room 315. I stayed again Aug. 17and 18 and was in an adjoining room, the between door was locked but I could hear every sniffle or word the person in the next room made. No privacy what so ever. The work out equipment in the gym was very poor quality and needed maintenance. The breakfast was delicious and everyone was extremely nice and helpful. I will definitely stay here again but will request to not be in an adjoining room.

This is the cutest local hotel! The staff was so friendly, the rooms were nice and spacious, breakfast was delicious (real eggs), and the free beverages in my room were a plus!
