Well....the location was perfect - only a few hundred meters from the Compostela Cathedral Plaza. The hotel is actually above a neighborhood bar/restaurant which didn't bother us at all - but our room was on the 4th (top) floor - no lift, no air conditioning & no offer of help for the bags from reception - which is also the restaurant pay counter. Just know that before you book in a hot month. Bathroom is tiny but fine & clean.

Limpio, la habitación muy pequeña pero bonita, lo maravilloso de este lugar es que esta a 100 metros de la catedral, eso es divino. Esta en la parte peatonal por lo que recomiendo que de ser posible no carguen con maletas enormes. Nosotros lo que hicimos fue estacionar el coche en un estacionamiento publico que esta a 100mt adelante de la entrada de esa calle, ahí en el estacionamiento hicimos una pequeña maleta para dos días y listo. Disfrutamos mucho estar en el mero centro. El acceso es con una clave que te da el hostal, no hay recepción ni personal asi que tu entras solo con tu clave que es la misma para la habitación.

So, the room itself was great, however… there was no WiFi as promised in my booking. When I inquired about it, the staff chose to ignore me. Also, if you are physically challenged… please consider staying elsewhere… my room was on the 4th floor with no elevator.

Oxford Suites, Santiago de Compostela – Stay Review Our stay at Oxford Suites was good overall. The room was clean, cozy, and comfortable, although a bit small. It had its own washroom, which was a nice plus. A few things to keep in mind if you plan to stay here: The TV doesn’t have any English channels, so if you want to watch something in English, you might be out of luck. The hotel sign is very small and easy to miss, so definitely use Google Maps to find it. If you book through Expedia, make sure you keep your booking code handy. The hotel doesn’t have a formal 24/7 reception desk. Instead, they handle check-ins through a restaurant next door, which has limited hours. You’ll need that code to enter both the building and your room, so save it carefully. Also, communication outside of reception hours is mainly through WhatsApp. Overall, it’s a nice, cozy place to stay if you’re prepared for the self-check-in system.

Oxford Suites is attached to a small cafe and both are run by the same staff. The staff were very helpful and happy to help me get situated. It's located literally down the street from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela, so it's a great stop for any pilgrim needing a nice night's rest once they have completed the journey. The room was small, clean and perfect for what I needed. There wasn't any air-conditioning but the window opened to a shaded alley. I'll likely stay there again since I travel to SDC regularly.

Great location Clean Small rooms and small shower but understandable given that is an old structure in the historical district. There is no elevator so for older guest it may be a little hard to walk to the third floor.

La habitación estaba bastante bien pero nada de cobertura en ella. El primer día me día una ducha y el desagüe estaba atascado. Subió enseguida una persona a repararlo porque estaba mojando el bar. Por lo demás todo muy bien. Será cuidado y la gente es muy amable. El dueño me recomendó sitios para ir y me ayudó en todo momento. La localización es perfecta, justo al lado de la catedral.

Toilet was broken and they could not fix it. Had to open the toilet tank to flush and smelled pretty bad. Mold and dust on the bathroom vents. Stains and dirty sheets. 2 huge spiders, spider webs, flies and other bugs. No air conditioning which is understandable but the fan was dirty and super weak so we sweated all night. If we open the windows more bugs come in and noise in the street echoed. The room is nice but not clean and need a better fan to keep cool.

Las habitaciones olian a cerrado o moho no sabría describirlo. La ducha no tragaba el agua. Y para colmo, por la mañana el personal se metió a la habitación antes del horario del check-out sin ni siquiera llamar antes. Me parece que se aprovechan de la gente.

Lage ist super, max. 2 Minuten zur Kathedrale, allerdings passt das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis gar nicht. Das Zimmer war sehr klein, was für eine Nacht nicht schlimm ist. Im Zimmer roch es feucht / muffig, die Fenster waren von innen komplett beschlagen - das mag an den alten dicken Steinwänden liegen. Nachts war es kalt, ich habe in meiner Fleecejacke geschlafen. Das Wasser zum Duschen war lauwarm, die Bettdecke zwar vermutlich frisch gewaschen, jedoch fleckig.

Great location. Easy access to the property. Immediate response to any questions. Great customer service! The place is very safe, clean . It could use a better cleaning on the shower walls there is a bit ok mold from humidity. Also the pillows have a bit of mildew. Need news ones.

We were relieved to move out of this place. To be clear, this isn’t a hotel, it’s rooms for rent over a bar/cafe. Our biggest issue was cleanliness. There is no ventilation in the bathroom, with the result that the ceiling and walls are black with mold. During our stay, we were given one small paper cup to use and this was never replaced. And the mattress was very cheap and uncomfortable. The place would be acceptable as a pilgrim hostel but they’re charging hotel rates. NOT recommended.

Great location however the room smelled awful and musty. I had to keep opening the window to be able to breathe but every time I left the room someone went in and closed it so I continue to return to an awful smelling room. Could not figure out how to work the AC unit so I had to leave the window open overnight which was noisy. No elevator for luggage. Great hot water in the bathroom, loved the central location. One large pillow to cover the bed versus two pillows so that made sleeping a little awkward. For the price I have to say I would not stay again, primarily due to the odor

While the room was small it was attractive & well appointed. The bed’s pillow however was very hard & too high & narrow to sleep comfortably & not get a sore neck. The shower leaked significantly onto the main bathroom floor. The room was extremely cold & there was no heat. And it would have been nice to have had at least one English speaking news channel on the tv. I am now in a hotel in Porto & the tv has 6 English speaking news channels(one would be fine). On the positive side, the staff were excellent, very friendly, helpful & accommodating., providing terrific service. And the property was ideally located, virtually next door to the Cathedral.

The location was great with easy walking to the cathedral, shops & restaurants. The room was small but nice & updated. It was noisy due to window & balcony facing the street which was only an issue when trying to sleep. The staff were great even with the language barrier & were very helpful.

Für Pilger absolut zu empfehlen. In unmittelbarer Nähe zur Kathedrale gelegen und mit sehr gutem Preis/Leistungsverhältnis. Das Einzelzimmer im Dachgeschoss ist allerdings für groß gewachsene Gäste nur bedingt geeignet. Das WiFi ist dort oben auch eher schwach.

Very close to the Cathedral area, and a bit noisy at night with people on the street. With windows closed, it had good soundproofing. Difficult to get an early check in. Only staffed during limited hours at the nearby restaurant.

Really good hotel close to the Cathedral. The staff is super friendly and helpful. They even helped me send home some stuff that I forgot after my vacation. Santiago de Compostela is an unforgettable destination and being so close to the main attraction was really cool!

Don’t stay here. There are no staff on site. No support available. We stayed for two nights and could not shower because water was cold. I send a message about this to the Whatsapp number provided, there was no response. Wifi was not working for half a day and again there was never a response to my message. The only good thing about this property is the location as it is next to the Cathedral. The pictures of the property are misleading. The room and bathroom is small. This is like a rooming house not a hotel and there is no support on site or by phone. You have to fend for yourself.

I had reservations for 2-3 days at Oxford Suites in Santiago de Compostela with confirmation number and everything, all done online. When we arrived there by airport taxi around 9pm, all lights were out, no one was staying at the property, no info on door, I called the phone number I had numerous times but no one answered so we had the taxidriver take us to another hotel. However, in the days that follwed I saw that the hotel managed to charge my credit card for the full amount (all the days we were supposed to stay there). I disputed this charge with my credit card company, I had proof that I was taken there and the hotel was closed and I had proof of the numerous calls I made to them. My credit car company said the Oxford Hotel never contacted them regarding my dispute therefore my credit card company reimbursed me for these charges.

Perfect location. Some problems with entering. Communication on WHAT IS UP, but persistence- Spanish language. Also, forgot to give me last letter of the code, I couldn’t get in for a while.

Oxford Suites is attached to a small cafe and both are run by the same staff. The staff were very helpful and happy to help me get situated. It's located literally down the street from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela, so it's a great stop for any pilgrim needing a nice night's rest once they have completed the journey. The room was small, clean and perfect for what I needed. There wasn't any air-conditioning but the window opened to a shaded alley. I'll likely stay there again since I travel to SDC regularly.

Great location! In the historic center and perfect spot for pilgrims coming off the trail. A bit loud at night but it is Spain so what you expect and nothing earplugs can’t overcome.

Limpio, la habitación muy pequeña pero bonita, lo maravilloso de este lugar es que esta a 100 metros de la catedral, eso es divino. Esta en la parte peatonal por lo que recomiendo que de ser posible no carguen con maletas enormes. Nosotros lo que hicimos fue estacionar el coche en un estacionamiento publico que esta a 100mt adelante de la entrada de esa calle, ahí en el estacionamiento hicimos una pequeña maleta para dos días y listo. Disfrutamos mucho estar en el mero centro. El acceso es con una clave que te da el hostal, no hay recepción ni personal asi que tu entras solo con tu clave que es la misma para la habitación.

Encantador Hotel junto a la Plaza del Obradoiro y a espaldas del Parador Nacional. Lo mejor, su ubicación, en pleno corazón de Santiago. La habitación muy bien (aunque se hubiera agradecido que tuviera una mininevera), el único pero era que en el baño no hubiera repisa para dejar las cosas.

Very close to the Cathedral area, and a bit noisy at night with people on the street. With windows closed, it had good soundproofing. Difficult to get an early check in. Only staffed during limited hours at the nearby restaurant.

Great location Clean Small rooms and small shower but understandable given that is an old structure in the historical district. There is no elevator so for older guest it may be a little hard to walk to the third floor.

The location near the cathedral is hard to beat. The staff were very friendly and openly helpful and we really appreciated that. The little restaurant serves simple but tasty food and caters to locals at an affordable price. They have obviously spent some money on making a stylish space and rooms. Our biggest issue was the plumbing leaked on the bathroom floor, covering at least half the floor, during one of our two stays over the period of a week. I have no idea where the water came from. We WhatsApp'd the 'emergency' number (though it wasn't an emergency) to notify them. There was no response which was dissappointing.

The staff went above and beyond! I was greeted in English by a young woman who said she was there to help me. Between her and the gentleman at reception the service was excellent. They helped me with transportation to airport, removing the carbon tip from my hiking pole, directing me to the best laundry service in Santiago and answered all my questions. I enjoyed the Galician Octopus in their restaurant. I will stay there again if in Santiago:

Clean! Perfect location at the Cathedral. Super convenient, right above a cafe, right next to a taxi stand. The cafe staff checks you in and you are on your own. It worked fine. Two pieces of advice: 1) bring earplugs 2) have Google Translate handy as no one speaks English. It's a very good place to stay and we'd book it again if we went back.

The property is a quick 5 minute walk from the cathedral in Santiago. The entrance is a bit deceptive in that it is associated with a small cafe. But once you hit the staircase to go up, everything is clean and new. All and all it is a nice place for a quiet stay.

This was a clean property very close to the cathedral so I didn’t have to walk to far after the excitement of finishing the Camino. It was surprisingly quiet at night and quiet in the halls of the pension. The room had rustic charm yet all the conveniences of a hotel. There was a cafe/ bar below which was nice. The people were very friendly.

The staff did not turn on the heater when I checked in, but issue was resolved when I had my husband (in US) spoke to them in Spanish through whatsapp. Friendly staff. Restaraunt attached has terrible empanada

Struttura in una casa antica ristrutturata da poco. Pulita e comoda perché a meno di cinquanta metri dalla Cattedrale. Il problema è stato il check in, i codici per l'ingresso sono stati forniti con una procedura complicata. Grazie al signore del bar accanto abbiamo risolto però se il bar fosse stato chiuso, sarebbe stato un problema. Il signore comunque, non saprei a che titolo, perché mi ha detto che non è legato alla struttura, aveva tutti i dati dei clienti. Grazie comunque per l'aiuto

This is a very charming hotel and the location is excellent BUT checking in was extremely frustrating. The website says the reception is open at 10am with check in at 3pm. Not true. No one was there at 10 or 10:45, luckily another guest let us in and we found a maid that told us we could leave our luggage in the entryway by front door. We returned at 3:15 and there was only a bartender, tending bar, near reception sign and he told us he didn’t speak English and kept telling us to use WhatsApp to contact the hotel. We walked to a restaurant a few doors down and called several times and texted three messages . No answer to either. We drank a beer and I translated a plea to the bartender to help us. As soon as we showed him a request in Spanish he became very friendly and checked us in?? Very confusing as he shooed us out of bar earlier when we kept pointing to the reception sign above him. And to be clear, I do not expect anyone to speak English to me when in a foreign country and would have come prepared if the website hadn’t said the staff spoke English among other languages. While we did get it sorted out, this check in process should absolutely be made more clear to your guests. After the stress of getting in was over we got to our room that was lovely and very clean. The lack of air conditioning was a bit uncomfortable until the sun went down but we slept well. So again, a charming property but the reception hours and check in are not as described in website.
