Irish Blessings

When we arrived, I noticed the thermostat was set to 75 degrees and it was locked so I could not change the temperature. I called and asked for a way to lower the temperature a little bit, at least in the evening when we sleep. (When the thermostat says 75, it is actually much hotter in the loft where the bunk bed is). They said the HVAC system is so old that if you turn the temperature down, it will freeze/ice over and need repair. I asked them to please find a way for me to cool the place down and they said they would ask the owner and let me know what could be done. They never called me back or contacted me in any other way about the issue. I did notice the temperature changed to 74 degrees, but that was it. They kept it locked and for an entire week we got very poor sleep as it was way too hot in there for sleeping. I also emailed them hoping to get some sort of response about the issue...but never received a reply from my call or email. I strongly recommend staying away from this property if you do not like sleeping in the heat. I also recommend the owner install a working HVAC since people who pay to stay here will expect to be able to keep it at a comfortable temperature.
