Confusing check-in, and no english so it was confusing when we dont speak french. Beautiful place that need som ekstra care on the rooftop (the water was not ok in the jazzuci, and all the furniture had a lot of stains) Not possible to get a cold beer. But otherwise, the satff was very friendly and the food was exellent.

Start with the staff: they are fabulous! Your stay begins with a tour of the property - which is located in 3 adjoining buildings. Staff assisted us with parking, which is tricky. You park in a gas station about 8 minutes by foot from the property. She rode with us and spoke to the gas station manager on our behalf. Be mindful that this hotel is in the historic Medina - you can’t drive up to it. We had initially parked on a street 2 bocks outside the city walls. We then moved it to the gas station. My room had a classical North African design - everything was very tasteful, if not a little quirky, which I found endearing. By quirky, e.g., you shower behind a ladder that goes to a loft in my room. My bed was very comfortable. There was a delicious fruit tray waiting for me. The A/C worked pretty well, though in general they struggle in North Africa. I was able to sleep without issue. Breakfast was delicious. It comprised of various Tunisian treats - all fresh. We also had dinner on the rooftop and it was delicious- as well as atmospheric especially during the call to prayer as the sun set. Dar Antonia is 5-10 min away from all the cool sights of the Medina (ribbat, mosque, archaeological museum) and steps away from shopping galore. This place is a 10/10 and a great value in my mind. If I come to Sousse again, there is no doubt that I am staying at the Dar Antonia!

We stayed at the Dar Antonia for 3 nights, when we arrived we were met at the steps by Sanna the host of the venue, she took us to show us the venue, the beautiful rooms, the dining area & gave us our keys then showed us how to get in and out of the building, everything was immaculate and the hospitality was above and beyond, we explained we wanted a light meal in the Médina and she personally took us to a small eating kitchen a stones throw from the venue. The bar at the top of the venue is amazing, the bartender is a lovely Tunisian man versed in 5 languages so you’ll have no problem getting anything you need, he makes the drinks strong but equally delicious and not overpowered, Now to the most important part the food at the Dar Antonia food is made by a Michelin star Swedish chef, we met some local brits that live in Tunisia and they said the food at the Dar Antonia is the best in Sousse, these lovely brits showed us all the class restaurants all with amazing food but not 1 touched the levels of the Dar Antonia they truly are a cut above the rest. All in all if you come to Tunisia and stay in sousse and don’t stay at the Dar Antonia you’ve missed out on a gem of Tunisia. Reviewed by Jose & Faby

Un très bel hôtel situé au bord de la médina, décoré avec beaucoup de goût et plein de surprises. Le véritable atout de cet établissement reste son personnel : d’une grande gentillesse, toujours souriant et attentif, il sait rendre le séjour particulièrement agréable. La terrasse, agrémentée de jolies plantes, offre un cadre magnifique où l’on peut aussi bien se détendre dans le petit jacuzzi que dîner dans une atmosphère conviviale et chaleureuse. Petit bémol toutefois du côté du petit déjeuner, qui manque un peu de salé. La climatisation dans la chambre fonctionne très bien !

Die Zimmer des Gästehauses, welches in der Medina (Altstadt) von Sousse liegt, sind sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Die Klimaanlage hat gut für Abkühlung gesorgt. Das Frühstück, serviert im kleinen Innenhof, ist vielfältig und beinhaltet wechselnde Komponenten an Obst, Ei-Variationen und Aufstrich. Immer hochwertig und in absolut ausrechender Menge. Das RoofTop Restaurant gehört wohl zu einem der besten der Stadt. (Europäisches Preisniveau). Doch das Herz des Dar Antonia sind die Mitarbeiter*innen sowie der Inhaber. Das freundliche und familiäre Miteinander hat überzeugt. Danke für die gute Zeit.

Un véritable bijou niché au cœur de la médina de Sousse, classée à l’UNESCO. Ce Dar traditionnel, rénové avec goût, marie harmonieusement le charme de l’architecture locale et le confort moderne. La maison est impeccable, entretenue avec grand soin, et chaque espace respire la sérénité. L’accueil est à la hauteur du lieu : chaleureux, professionnel, authentique. Le personnel est attentionné, toujours prêt à rendre service, avec une mention spéciale pour Rahma, qui nous a servi le petit déjeuner avec une gentillesse et une douceur remarquables. Une perle. Les petits déjeuners sont simples mais savoureux, servis dans un cadre paisible. La terrasse sur le toit, baignée de lumière, offre un superbe point de vue pour se détendre après une journée dans la médina. Un endroit inspirant. Quelques détails toutefois viennent légèrement atténuer l’enchantement : l’insonorisation des chambres laisse à désirer, la piscine — minuscule — avait une eau un peu trouble lors de notre passage, et certains prix (notamment une citronnade à 12 dinars) nous ont semblé déconnectés du contexte local. Un lieu plein de charme et de promesses, parfait pour s’immerger dans l’âme de la médina… à condition de garder une certaine indulgence et un œil averti.

Went here in the winter and their room heater didn't work (staff insisted that it works but it doesn't, go figure...). It was quite cold during the night we had a miserable time sleeping there. The parking is not on premises, you have to walk 7 minutes to get to the location (they make you park at a gas station then take some stairs and walk through the old town). Would not stay here again.

Beautiful place in the Medina of Sousse. All the rooms are stunning. We stayed at the Ambre Suite which felt like living inside a fairy tale. While the place is in the Medina, is not in the busy side but rather quieter side of it. Just a short 5 min walk from everywhere you need to be in the Medina. The host were super friendly and the restaurant is a must. Just be aware that you may need to walk a few blocks with your luggage to make it in and out.

Very nice hotel, and the only place of this quality in the souk of the Sousse medina. There seems to be some organised “grade inflation” other reviews. The place is very nice. But what are called “suites” are just rooms, and many of those rooms are interior spaces. Mine felt dark and stuffy. The mattress was too firm and of apparent low quality. It is a very clean and charming space with friendly, helpful staff.

Dar Antonia is a little slice of heaven in Sousse. They were so kind as to reach out to me prior to my arrival, and offered assistance in making the arrival smooth. Hanen greeted me with warmth and kindness. She gave me a full tour of the facilities and chatted with a genuine spirit. The rooms are all beautiful, clean, well designed and comfortable. The restaurant was excellent, I ate there both nights of my stay. A special mention of my server who spoke handfuls of languages, chatted with everyone and even offered a speaker while I was relaxing on the rooftop patio. The location is central in the old medina, and close to everything you may need. This is the place to stay in Sousse! Thank you, everyone.

The inside courtyard and public spaces were well decorated and nice. The heat in my room did not work and the temperature stayed about 18c. There was no separation or door between the bathroom and our family suite room. It is advertised for up to 4 people, but my daughter and I felt cramped in the space. The concrete floors were not inviting and the shower kept flooding the bathroom area. The hotel was very clean and the staff were nice, even though they were not around much and were gone by nightfall. A good place for an adventurous and self sufficient traveler.

Notre séjour a Dar Antonia étais juste au top ! Le décore est magnifique les chambre exceptionnelle tout le confort qu’il faut! L’ambiance de cette maison et juste dépaysant nous avons pu profité de la piscine avec un roof top décoré avec beaucoup de goût! Le personnel et adorable accueillant et très professionnel un grand Merci a Hanine qui nous très bien accueilli qui s’est occupé de nous durant le séjour! Le petit magnifique servi dans le patio varié très bon! Magnifique coup de cœur pour moi je recommande vraiment !

Un véritable bijou niché au cœur de la médina de Sousse, classée à l’UNESCO. Ce Dar traditionnel, rénové avec goût, marie harmonieusement le charme de l’architecture locale et le confort moderne. La maison est impeccable, entretenue avec grand soin, et chaque espace respire la sérénité. L’accueil est à la hauteur du lieu : chaleureux, professionnel, authentique. Le personnel est attentionné, toujours prêt à rendre service, avec une mention spéciale pour Rahma, qui nous a servi le petit déjeuner avec une gentillesse et une douceur remarquables. Une perle. Les petits déjeuners sont simples mais savoureux, servis dans un cadre paisible. La terrasse sur le toit, baignée de lumière, offre un superbe point de vue pour se détendre après une journée dans la médina. Un endroit inspirant. Quelques détails toutefois viennent légèrement atténuer l’enchantement : l’insonorisation des chambres laisse à désirer, la piscine — minuscule — avait une eau un peu trouble lors de notre passage, et certains prix (notamment une citronnade à 12 dinars) nous ont semblé déconnectés du contexte local. Very nice hotel, and the only place of this quality in the souk of the Sousse medina. There seems to be some organised “grade inflation” other reviews. The place is very nice. But what are called “suites” are just rooms, and many of those rooms are interior spaces. Mine felt dark and stuffy. The mattress was too firm and of apparent low quality. It is a very clean and charming space with friendly, helpful staff.

This is a nice hotel, with beautiful rooms and restaurant. The staff are helpful, and they even made us breakfast well after the posted finish time. The downsides are the rooms are little small, and our shower didn’t fully work (the wand worked, but not the shower head). Also it can be a little cold in winter, but there is in room heating.

The inside courtyard and public spaces were well decorated and nice. The heat in my room did not work and the temperature stayed about 18c. There was no separation or door between the bathroom and our family suite room. It is advertised for up to 4 people, but my daughter and I felt cramped in the space. The concrete floors were not inviting and the shower kept flooding the bathroom area. The hotel was very clean and the staff were nice, even though they were not around much and were gone by nightfall. A good place for an adventurous and self sufficient traveler.

The hotel is stunning visually. The restaurant food is fantastic. The hotel has the opportunity to be in credible. However, the place is a fiasco. Our a/c was broken. The internet didn't work in our room. The hotel forgot to put water in our room and then couldn't find any making it impossible to brush our teeth or take our medicine. Also, the room with a bathtub has no shower merely a hand-held device. Another room has an open toilet with no privacy. Two friends who were traveling together asked us to switch rooms which we did since we had no shower. The hotel has a lot of potential but it is horribly managed.

Went here in the winter and their room heater didn't work (staff insisted that it works but it doesn't, go figure...). It was quite cold during the night we had a miserable time sleeping there. The parking is not on premises, you have to walk 7 minutes to get to the location (they make you park at a gas station then take some stairs and walk through the old town). Would not stay here again.

Dar Antonia is the worst place you can book in Sousse. Can you believe they told me I can NOT check in after 6pm and since I was left arriving in Tunis, they left me high and dry and was forced to book another hotel room !

Start with the staff: they are fabulous! Your stay begins with a tour of the property - which is located in 3 adjoining buildings. Staff assisted us with parking, which is tricky. You park in a gas station about 8 minutes by foot from the property. She rode with us and spoke to the gas station manager on our behalf. Be mindful that this hotel is in the historic Medina - you can’t drive up to it. We had initially parked on a street 2 bocks outside the city walls. We then moved it to the gas station. My room had a classical North African design - everything was very tasteful, if not a little quirky, which I found endearing. By quirky, e.g., you shower behind a ladder that goes to a loft in my room. My bed was very comfortable. There was a delicious fruit tray waiting for me. The A/C worked pretty well, though in general they struggle in North Africa. I was able to sleep without issue. Breakfast was delicious. It comprised of various Tunisian treats - all fresh. We also had dinner on the rooftop and it was delicious- as well as atmospheric especially during the call to prayer as the sun set. Dar Antonia is 5-10 min away from all the cool sights of the Medina (ribbat, mosque, archaeological museum) and steps away from shopping galore. This place is a 10/10 and a great value in my mind. If I come to Sousse again, there is no doubt that I am staying at the Dar Antonia!

We stayed at the Dar Antonia for 3 nights, when we arrived we were met at the steps by Sanna the host of the venue, she took us to show us the venue, the beautiful rooms, the dining area & gave us our keys then showed us how to get in and out of the building, everything was immaculate and the hospitality was above and beyond, we explained we wanted a light meal in the Médina and she personally took us to a small eating kitchen a stones throw from the venue. The bar at the top of the venue is amazing, the bartender is a lovely Tunisian man versed in 5 languages so you’ll have no problem getting anything you need, he makes the drinks strong but equally delicious and not overpowered, Now to the most important part the food at the Dar Antonia food is made by a Michelin star Swedish chef, we met some local brits that live in Tunisia and they said the food at the Dar Antonia is the best in Sousse, these lovely brits showed us all the class restaurants all with amazing food but not 1 touched the levels of the Dar Antonia they truly are a cut above the rest. All in all if you come to Tunisia and stay in sousse and don’t stay at the Dar Antonia you’ve missed out on a gem of Tunisia. Reviewed by Jose & Faby

Nous avons séjourné une nuit à Dar Antonia, le cadre est très original. Nous avons dîné le soir sur la terrasse. Les plats étaient bons, notamment la viande qui était très tendre. Dar Antonia is a little slice of heaven in Sousse. They were so kind as to reach out to me prior to my arrival, and offered assistance in making the arrival smooth. Hanen greeted me with warmth and kindness. She gave me a full tour of the facilities and chatted with a genuine spirit. The rooms are all beautiful, clean, well designed and comfortable. The restaurant was excellent, I ate there both nights of my stay. A special mention of my server who spoke handfuls of languages, chatted with everyone and even offered a speaker while I was relaxing on the rooftop patio. The location is central in the old medina, and close to everything you may need. This is the place to stay in Sousse! Thank you, everyone.

Dar Antonia is 5-10 min away from all the cool sights of the Medina (ribbat, mosque, archaeological museum) and steps away from shopping galore. This place is a 10/10 and a great value in my mind. If I come to Sousse again, there is no doubt that I am staying at the Dar Antonia!
Start with the staff: they are fabulous! Your stay begins with a tour of the property - which is located in 3 adjoining buildings. Staff assisted us with parking, which is tricky. You park in a gas station about 8 minutes by foot from the property. She rode with us and spoke to the gas station manager on our behalf. Be mindful that this hotel is in the historic Medina - you can’t drive up to it. We had initially parked on a street 2 bocks outside the city walls. We then moved it to the gas station. My room had a classical North African design - everything was very tasteful, if not a little quirky, which I found endearing. By quirky, e.g., you shower behind a ladder that goes to a loft in my room. My bed was very comfortable. There was a delicious fruit tray waiting for me. The A/C worked pretty well, though in general they struggle in North Africa. I was able to sleep without issue. Breakfast was delicious. It comprised of various Tunisian treats - all fresh. We also had dinner on the rooftop and it was delicious- as well as atmospheric especially during the call to prayer as the sun set. We stayed at the Dar Antonia for 3 nights, when we arrived we were met at the steps by Sanna the host of the venue, she took us to show us the venue, the beautiful rooms, the dining area & gave us our keys then showed us how to get in and out of the building, everything was immaculate and the hospitality was above and beyond, we explained we wanted a light meal in the Médina and she personally took us to a small eating kitchen a stones throw from the venue. The bar at the top of the venue is amazing, the bartender is a lovely Tunisian man versed in 5 languages so you’ll have no problem getting anything you need, he makes the drinks strong but equally delicious and not overpowered, Now to the most important part the food at the Dar Antonia food is made by a Michelin star Swedish chef, we met some local brits that live in Tunisia and they said the food at the Dar Antonia is the best in Sousse, these lovely brits showed us all the class restaurants all with amazing food but not 1 touched the levels of the Dar Antonia they truly are a cut above the rest. All in all if you come to Tunisia and stay in sousse and don’t stay at the Dar Antonia you’ve missed out on a gem of Tunisia. Reviewed by Jose & Faby

Went here in the winter and their room heater didn't work (staff insisted that it works but it doesn't, go figure...). It was quite cold during the night we had a miserable time sleeping there. The parking is not on premises, you have to walk 7 minutes to get to the location (they make you park at a gas station then take some stairs and walk through the old town). Would not stay here again.

Beautiful place in the Medina of Sousse. All the rooms are stunning. We stayed at the Ambre Suite which felt like living inside a fairy tale. While the place is in the Medina, is not in the busy side but rather quieter side of it. Just a short 5 min walk from everywhere you need to be in the Medina. The host were super friendly and the restaurant is a must. Just be aware that you may need to walk a few blocks with your luggage to make it in and out.

Confusing check-in, and no english so it was confusing when we dont speak french. Beautiful place that need som ekstra care on the rooftop (the water was not ok in the jazzuci, and all the furniture had a lot of stains) Not possible to get a cold beer. But otherwise, the satff was very friendly and the food was exellent.

This is a nice hotel, with beautiful rooms and restaurant. The staff are helpful, and they even made us breakfast well after the posted finish time. The downsides are the rooms are little small, and our shower didn’t fully work (the wand worked, but not the shower head). Also it can be a little cold in winter, but there is in room heating.

Super accueil et Dar tout à fait conforme aux descriptions. Du coup nous y avons dîné et ce fut une bonne option ! Notre chambre était juste magnifique et l nuit tranquille. J’avoue cependant que le petit déjeuner n’était pas assez gourmand. Et manquait de spécialités locales.

Nous avons séjourné une nuit à Dar Antonia, le cadre est très original. Nous avons dîné le soir sur la terrasse. Les plats étaient bons, notamment la viande qui était très tendre. En revanche le service était extrêmement long. Nous avons bien dormi, heureusement qu’il y avait la clim. Le petit-déj’ était copieux et le service au top

Un tipico Dar tunisino ristrutturato con gusto, ha vari opzioni tutte belle e con diverse fasce di prezzo. Bello il cortile interno e spettacolare il rooftop, con una piccola piscina dove passare le ore più calde della giornata. La sera potete prenotare il vostro tavolo per la cena sul rooftop, con ottimi piatti, vini tunisini e cocktails. Menzione speciale per lo staff, sorridente, accogliente e sempre disponibile nel soddisfare le nostre richieste. Migliorerei solo la copertura del wifi, non tutte le aree sono adeguatamente raggiunte dal segnale.
Un tipico Dar tunisino ristrutturato con gusto, ha vari opzioni tutte belle e con diverse fasce di prezzo. This hotel was outstanding! The decoration, the rooftop restaurant, the facilities and specially the personal (extremely kind and helpful) The owner of the place was too friendly and offered us a free upgrade to the Tozeur suite. Thanks for this beautiful experience, will be back shortly!

I didn't have a good experience. In order to get from Tunis to Sousse, you either pay a ridiculous amount to a private driver or you take the Louage. The Louage is a rideshare van filled with at least 8 people with no air conditioning. It was the longest 2.5 hours of my life in that oven of a van. Once I got out, I contemplated going to the emergency room due to dehydration but decided to just go to the hotel. It's impossible to find a taxi so I walked for 30 minutes, completely dehydrated and about to die with my suitcase. A guy opened the door for me (Omar, the brother of the owner) but he doesn't speak English. I asked him in French for a glass of water and he told me to wait. I tried to explain that I needed it now otherwise I was going to pass out - by this time I felt faint. He couldn't understand me and just kept telling me to wait. I knew the owner, Sami, was upstairs because he called down to me when I got there to say hello. So, I yelled up to him 'Can I please get some water?' Sami took it as an insult and rudeness and came downstairs to yell at me. I'm talking finger in my face screaming! He screamed that if I don't respect his staff, then I can stay somewhere else. I told him not to speak to me that way and I will stay somewhere else if he refunds my money. He refused to give me my money so they showed me to my room where he continued to yell at me. We eventually both apologized but I can't get over how he treated me.
