Upon arrival, we were greeted by a self-serve kiosk. After registering, a member of staff informed us of the check-in times. We left our bags with him and headed out. Upon returning, we wanted to grab a drink and some nibbles. We headed to the bar area and sat down to look at the online menu. After 20 minutes, I decided to ask the staff if we could order. He said he would be over soon, but he didn’t know about food, which was strange considering it was 2:30 pm. After another 20 minutes, he arrived and took our order. However, after a while, it arrived without one item – my son’s ice cream. He replied that it would be out shortly, but we could see it in the pass window. After 5-7 minutes, the chefs prompted him to finish the order, and it finally arrived. Overall, the service was abysmal. After that, we headed to our booked 4 pm slot for swimming. To our surprise, the changing rooms were surprisingly cramped. There was only one cubicle and a small locker area for the capacity of the hotel. We had expected at least a few cubicles. The pool and amenities were refreshing, but the Jacuzzi was lukewarm to our surprise. After our swim, we got our keys and headed to the third floor. However, we had to go down a flight of stairs to get to our room. It was strangely built, with a nice view but a poorly maintained bathroom. It was rusty and had barely any hot water for showers. Upon check-out, we paid and left. We will not be returning or recommending this hotel.

The hotel was okay for us. Poor WiFi, a cold / broken sauna and steam room, and poor water pressure in the room let the stay down somewhat. Food was good and well priced, no complaints there. We enjoyed spending time in the bar and were comfortable enough in the room. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Had a lovely one night stay. Hotel been undergoing a refurbishment and the results are really good, some areas still needed. Bar and restaurant really good, excellent food. Service was rather slow the night we were there but the quality of food made up for it. Spa/pool refurbished to really good standard, only suggestion would be a better hand rail for getting into the jaccuzi, quite difficult to get in and out of and hand rail too low and wobbly.

We stayed over for 1 night after visiting Pitlochry for The Enchanted Forest. We arrived a little earlier than suggested check in, which was fine as we were okay to wait for 15 minutes. We ended up waiting for over an hour until our room was ready. The staff at the desk didn’t know what the house keeping were doing and why the room wasn’t ready. We eventually got checked in. The lift was out of order, which we knew about. However, we saw a group of older people arriving on the same day as us having to carry their big suitcases up 2-3 flights of stairs. We helped where we could, would’ve been nice to maybe have some staff to offer extra help. When we eventually got to our room, (family room with a double bed and bunk beds) it was very outdated, big old furniture taking up a lot of room. The wallpaper was very visibly coming off of the walls with huge chunks of it missing. It could really do with a bit of an update. The bunk beds were really small so it was a bit of a squeeze for our teenage daughter. The double bed was big and very comfortable. On the plus side, we really enjoyed the pool and spa area, even though the pool was on the smaller side, our daughters enjoyed it. Breakfast was lovely with loads of options. All this included in the price of the room. Overall our stay was fine.

Stay was Ok, not sure it felt like a 3 star hotel. Room was cramped but old building. No lock on bathroom door but couldn't get it to shut prooerly anyway. Toilet wouldn't atop flushing at one point and bath gurgled for a while when you used sink. Spa area and pool needs a bit of tlc, most lockers in gents broken. Had dinner in restaurant one night and waited over an hour for food with no explanation. One waitress very helpful towards our dog. Breakfast was quite nice but missing potato scone and Lorne sausage. Serving staff helpful when an item couldn't be found. Cheese was in a chiller but was hard on corners and going hard. Lift broken which we were told about before we got there. Notvall pillows of a good quality as starting to break up but very good matress. Sadly the room was so incredibly warm ( day temp 19 degrees) that we struggled to sleep well. Good position in centre of town and could hear the river. Very limited parking outside hotel but free carpark 5min walk away.

A nice friendly clean hotel, stayed with my family 2 adults and 2 toddlers midweek. Kids loved the swimming pool and bunk beds in the family room, could have done with more space but we didn’t spend much time in the room. Breakfast was delicious and plenty of it. Parking outside hotel is in short supply but there is more space at the rear and a free public car park across the road so you won’t be stuck. Blairgowrie is a nice little town with plenty of amenities.

Beautiful hotel which was so centrally located for us to visit family. The room was really clean and tidy and the bed really comfortable too. Lovely extras provided eg tea/coffee/hot chocolate/ biscuits provided for. Our room was overlooking the river and the view was just beautiful. The breakfast was so delicious the next morning and loads to choice from. Everything was fresh and replenished asap. Would highly recommend the hotel to stay in

We were in a dog friendly family room which desperately needed an update. Runner on the bed was stained and the fixtures and fittings were just tired. The 2 bunk beds were only suitable for very small children which meant we all ended up sharing the one bed. Although the hotel welcomes dogs, our room was up multiple flights of quite steep stairs so not really suitable for toileting. Breakfast was good, however muesli with cornflakes through it was definitely a first for us! Served it's purpose but dont think it would be our first choice when staying in the area.

Small room, not that clean. Coffee cup had a lipstick stain on it. Bathtub was in disrepair. Burnt out lightbulbs in the bathroom, right over the mirror where you need it most. Staff was not friendly but not rude. Maybe indifferent? They didn’t seem to have customer service as a priority. Not even a bottle of water to be found in the room or anywhere nearby.

We only stayed one night but was very clean, extremely comfortable beds, better than premier inn. Generally showing some signs of wear and needing a little updating but if this doesnt bother you its great. Very good value and will be going back.

Absolutly love Blairgowrie , but I’m afraid the Angus has lost its place , the room was dirty and the bed was so uncomfortable it was a joke , overall the whole place was tired . Reception staff very unhelpful ( could have been due to yet another coachload turning up)

Staff where very friendly and service was excellent, pool was top class. The only thing that let it down was the room. we where in room 204, there was no view and had a constant noise from the aircon fans outside our window also at 5am there was another sound that kicked in that woke us. the entrance to the room was via a slim corridor and through a very narrow door.

The mattresses in each of our 3 rooms was made of “concrete”! The hotel was clean, but not up-to-date as far as amenities, or available food.

On the plus side, we really enjoyed the pool and spa area, even though the pool was on the smaller side, our daughters enjoyed it. Breakfast was lovely with loads of options. We stayed over for 1 night after visiting Pitlochry for The Enchanted Forest. We arrived a little earlier than suggested check in, which was fine as we were okay to wait for 15 minutes. We ended up waiting for over an hour until our room was ready. The staff at the desk didn’t know what the house keeping were doing and why the room wasn’t ready. We eventually got checked in. The lift was out of order, which we knew about. However, we saw a group of older people arriving on the same day as us having to carry their big suitcases up 2-3 flights of stairs. We helped where we could, would’ve been nice to maybe have some staff to offer extra help. When we eventually got to our room, (family room with a double bed and bunk beds) it was very outdated, big old furniture taking up a lot of room. The wallpaper was very visibly coming off of the walls with huge chunks of it missing. It could really do with a bit of an update. The bunk beds were really small so it was a bit of a squeeze for our teenage daughter. The double bed was big and very comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at The Angus Hotel and Spa, this is our 5th time staying there and it has always been perfect. We had a lovely big room with a very comfy bed and great shower. Our wee dog even had her own towel, and there was 2 bowls, treats and a few other dog items all sitting out for her in the room. Breakfast was lovely and excellent service especially from the man who checked us in and looked after us very well on the Monday and the Tuesday. We both also enjoyed the spa and pool, we would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. It is great for singles, couples and families, the staff are so welcoming to the guests and were great with our wee dog. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable. Izzy and Craig xx

Stay was Ok, not sure it felt like a 3 star hotel. Room was cramped but old building. No lock on bathroom door but couldn't get it to shut prooerly anyway. Toilet wouldn't atop flushing at one point and bath gurgled for a while when you used sink. Spa area and pool needs a bit of tlc, most lockers in gents broken. Had dinner in restaurant one night and waited over an hour for food with no explanation. One waitress very helpful towards our dog. Breakfast was quite nice but missing potato scone and Lorne sausage. Serving staff helpful when an item couldn't be found. Cheese was in a chiller but was hard on corners and going hard. Lift broken which we were told about before we got there. Notvall pillows of a good quality as starting to break up but very good matress. Sadly the room was so incredibly warm ( day temp 19 degrees) that we struggled to sleep well. Good position in centre of town and could hear the river. Very limited parking outside hotel but free carpark 5min walk away.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by a self-serve kiosk. After registering, a member of staff informed us of the check-in times. We left our bags with him and headed out. Upon returning, we wanted to grab a drink and some nibbles. We headed to the bar area and sat down to look at the online menu. After 20 minutes, I decided to ask the staff if we could order. He said he would be over soon, but he didn’t know about food, which was strange considering it was 2:30 pm. After another 20 minutes, he arrived and took our order. However, after a while, it arrived without one item – my son’s ice cream. He replied that it would be out shortly, but we could see it in the pass window. After 5-7 minutes, the chefs prompted him to finish the order, and it finally arrived. Overall, the service was abysmal. After that, we headed to our booked 4 pm slot for swimming. To our surprise, the changing rooms were surprisingly cramped. There was only one cubicle and a small locker area for the capacity of the hotel. We had expected at least a few cubicles. The pool and amenities were refreshing, but the Jacuzzi was lukewarm to our surprise. After our swim, we got our keys and headed to the third floor. However, we had to go down a flight of stairs to get to our room. It was strangely built, with a nice view but a poorly maintained bathroom. It was rusty and had barely any hot water for showers. Upon check-out, we paid and left. We will not be returning or recommending this hotel.

The hotel was an older building but rooms were clean and reasonably modern. Breakfast was of good standard and selection. Dinner at night was busy (take advice of hotel and BOOK) but service was good despite this. Food was good and good sized portions. Staff were excellent in all areas, particularly at breakfast and in the bar. Very friendly and helpful. Location is great, right in centre of Blairgowrie. We enjoyed our two days there.

Angus Hotel dis not informed us that they organisé very noisy parties on the saturday night. It was impossible to sleep until 1:AM due to very loudy athmosphere. Don t expect any excuse from the réceptionnists. They will also be able to lie you when claiming it was impossible for them to contact us as we have an international phone number… To forgot

The rooms are very comfortable. The toilet in our room was small but adequate. I couldn’t give service a good score as you’re doing your book in and out yourself. We didn’t go for breakfast as weren’t told it was included. Needs the personal touch back.

After a day working in the area could not get a table in the restaurant on one of the evenings and the hotel does not do room service. I was told that the restaurant was booked up by 2pm. No availability for residents requesting a table when they arrive back at the hotel at 6pm. Informed the hotel reception that the shower was not draining as I left for work at 8am. Returned about 6pm room had not been serviced and the shower had still not drained. Maintenance had left for the day. Receptionist tried her best but no response from the general manager regarding this issue. I found the service poor compared with other hotels that I have stayed in.

Great stopover in a hotel that was a bit like the TARDIS. You can see the investment in the public rooms and the breakfast buffet area. Service was excellent and there were plenty of friendly, local staff. Check in was led by the tech and on par with upmarket city hotels.

Great location! Great Value for Money. Overall, a bit rundown, but bedrooms are good as are the bathroom facilities. Halls a bit dismal, but clean. Breakfast takes place in a canteen feeling room, but the breakfasts are very good. The restaurant is much better and has a good ambience. The Dinners were excellent. Service was very good and reception were very helpful. It is not a plush hotel, but you can have a fabulous time if you are not a complainer. Our party did not complain and had a great time. As I said - a great value hotel - I would book again.

Mostly very good but special function caused poor service in restaurant. Room very good. Reception poorly staffed in afternoon and advice on bus service sadly lacking due to town centre works. Stay was Ok, not sure it felt like a 3 star hotel. Room was cramped but old building. No lock on bathroom door but couldn't get it to shut prooerly anyway. Toilet wouldn't atop flushing at one point and bath gurgled for a while when you used sink. Spa area and pool needs a bit of tlc, most lockers in gents broken. Had dinner in restaurant one night and waited over an hour for food with no explanation. One waitress very helpful towards our dog. Breakfast was quite nice but missing potato scone and Lorne sausage. Serving staff helpful when an item couldn't be found. Cheese was in a chiller but was hard on corners and going hard. Lift broken which we were told about before we got there. Notvall pillows of a good quality as starting to break up but very good matress. Sadly the room was so incredibly warm ( day temp 19 degrees) that we struggled to sleep well. Good position in centre of town and could hear the river. Very limited parking outside hotel but free carpark 5min walk away.

We booked this hotel for one night between staying at campsites to give ourselves a break from putting the tent up and to recharge. When we arrived there was no space left in the front or back car park. It was a Saturday. We phoned and they said there is a free public car park adjacent to the hotel so we parked there. There is a huge Tesco supermarket behind the hotel which is handy for stocking up. We checked in. Our room had a nice big bed and a single bed for my son. We noticed that they were charging for parking even though it said it was free. We parked in public car park so was not relevant to us so good job we couldn't park in their car park. We also couldn't get any free WiFi in our room that was advertised when we booked. They said it was only available in reception. The bed was comfy and clean. The bathroom needed a bit of tlc. There was a handy kettle and teas and coffees. There was no air conditioning but you could open windows but one window was really hard to close.

A nice room, nice and quiet, although walls are thin, so can hear talking in the next room. Nice breakfast. The shower was awful, could never keep it at a reasonable temperature. The lounge could have done with some new furniture and not much choice or drinks at the bar. Overall a 7/10 stay. A nice location and did the job for 2 nights as a nice base for travelling

Keep the lift working my wife is severly disabled what a carry on to get her down the stairs when the lift broke down 20 minutes before check out.

Had a great time only problem there were some kids constantly running in and out banging there room doors constantly at 10 o’clock at night. Great hotel lovely staff and lovely immensities, great breakfast, lovely food.

Had an amazing time food was delicious and the staff were very friendly and helpful was there for 2 nights stay and enjoyed every minute of it the entertainment was fantastic I would definitely recommend it and I will be visiting again
