Excellent service from the friendly staff was the highlight. Rooms were very clean. Amenities are what you would expect. Parking options are limited if you don’t pay for parking next door. Shared facilities are a nice addition. Restaurant and pub below are good. The location is very convenient for those with their own transport. Rideshare cost to city from location is about $18-20. Lots of good food options within walkable distance though. A great option for a value conscious couple/solo traveler with their own transportation.

Clean room and private shower is what we selected. Two floors no elevator. There is a Bistro and Bar below the hotel. Andrew was friendly and helpful assisting us with our luggage to our room. Excellent Bistro menu and bar service. We had the Philly cheesesteak sandwich with fries and it was the best I ever had. We recommend the PC sandwich. I even complimented the chef loudly in the Bistro.

The room was quiet and nicely renovated, great water pressure in the shower, and in a nice area. The breakfast room and lounge area was also a nice bonus. I would be happy to stay there again.

Great 9 night stay, staff friendly and housekeeping team always did a great job of having room made up when asked. Kitchen had everything needed for breakkie. Had one meal downstairs in Percy’s which was lovely. Very easy walking distance to Metro which wax handy.

The room was renovated in a lovely way, comfortable bed, good amenities. It had a guesthouse feel, lovely lounge area to relax, which adjoins the kitchen where you can have breakfast. Mind that there are two flights of stairs if you have luggage, no lift. After a fairly quiet Friday night a band started playing at 10pm! 😳

I arrived a bit early & my room was still being cleaned, however I was able to leave my suitcase in the room while I went out and about. The shared kitchen/lounge is excellent and I loved being able to make my own toast and coffee each morning. The room was excellent - comfy bed with great pillows and the shower was great! I’d definitely stay again.

This is a sports bar pub downstairs with hotel rooms upstairs. The hotel rooms are clean and well maintained. Guests share a common kitchen which is stocked with bread, cereals, condiments, yogurt, milk, teas and instant coffee.

A superb place to stay. A bargain price and close to the metro direct into Central station. Great bedroom, a lovely shared kitchen/sitting room, all spotlessly clean. Quiet too, yet with a pub downstairs doing awesome traditional pub grub. 300g sirloin steak cooked to perfection for 25 bucks, what a bargain. We stayed 4 nights and ate dinner in the pub each night.

This is a little gem. The only down side is the noise from the building works next door that starts early in the morning which is out of the hotel's control. The check in lady was lovely. Parking was available when pre arranged. A really great place to stay and real value for money. Definitely recommend.

We loved our stay at the North Sydney Hotel. All of the staff we interacted with were fantastic, the room and bathrooms were exceptionally clean, and the communal guest lounge was a lovely place to relax. Getting there from Central Station was easy and fast - we took the metro to Victoria Cross station and from there it was an easy two-block walk (be sure to use the north exit of the station). There are also buses that run along the street if it is raining or you have luggage - the bus stops directly across from the hotel. Will definitely be staying again!

I stayed here for 1 night and it was a great stay! Room is clean, bed and pillows are VERY comfy. Shared bathroom was very clean and i didnt encounter anyone else while going to or from the BR. The staff were friendly and check in/check out was perfect. The ONLY minor complaint i have is that the room was cold and i couldnt seem to adjust the temp any warmer. Other than that, everything was perfect and actually exceeding my expectations for a budget friendly hotel option. The BEST PART of this hotel: they held my luggage for me while i went out and explored Sydney. This gave me the freedom to roam around on my last day without lugging a suitcase around, even though i was no longer a guest. I would return for this reason alone. I loved this hotel and cannot recommend enough!

We had a work function to attend at Darling Harbour and we found it quite easy to travel thier by car. We had stayed in King Room last time which was generous. Our Queen room this time was a lot smaller and the only complaint was the shower need a good scrub. The food was good and staff friendly.

Basic accommodation. Carpets and curtains very dusty and probably need to be replaced. Woke up congested both days due to dust in room. Very noisy up to around 11pm at night due to doors banging. No bar fridge in room. No hanging space for clothes except for some obscure hooks on the one wall. Would probably not stay again less absolutely desperate.

This is a really good hotel. Very quiet, lovely ensuite bathroom, comfortable bed and lovely lounge area. The kitchen is great for breakfast with cereal, milk, bread and a selection of jams. You can even leave your own goods in the refrigerator. The meals downstairs are great, try the barramundi!! Can’t fault the staff who are very friendly. Good bus options to the city or Manly. Good coffee shops close too Would stay again. There is even 2 hour parking and free overnight parking in the side street.

Stay was nice however walls were quite thin and you can hear everything people were up making noise from 5:30am and bathroom door was broken and could be pushed up other than that stay was nice and I liked the aircon and the fact you could set it yourself

We stayed in room number 5, the room was small but nicely decorated, clean and had a good sized ensuite. However, what did let down our experience was the bed. It was uncomfortable which was probably due to the rather unpleasant feel of the waterproof mattress protector under the sheet. It made the mattress feel hard and the sound it made was disconcerting and just yuk.

The staff were very good and the room and en-suite were clean and the bed was comfortable. It would have been good if there were tea and coffee making facilities in the room, rather than just in the communal area. A couple of chairs in the room would also be good.

It is a very quaint hotel with comfortable rooms. The staff came into the room, while we were there, because the door locks don't work. There is no staff before 10am, and no clear indication about where to go to check in. ( It is inside the pub.) The location is very convenient for transportation, and a great walking area. The staff were lovely when available.

The staff were quite rude on arrival, we felt like we were being a nuisance by checking in. The hotel has lovely old charm and the shared bathroom and kitchen were a surprise, but it was okay. The room was clean and comfortable but the breakfast options were a bit disappointing. It felt a bit like a backpackers vibe.

The staff were super friendly and helpful. The room was clean and overall we had a pleasant stay! If you need parking make sure to contact the hotel ahead of time to reserve. We loved our stay at the North Sydney Hotel. All of the staff we interacted with were fantastic, the room and bathrooms were exceptionally clean, and the communal guest lounge was a lovely place to relax. Getting there from Central Station was easy and fast - we took the metro to Victoria Cross station and from there it was an easy two-block walk (be sure to use the north exit of the station). There are also buses that run along the street if it is raining or you have luggage - the bus stops directly across from the hotel. Will definitely be staying again!

Stayed in Sydney for 9 days and this was perfectly located. Bus to Manly was 200yds and the Metro into the city was 200yds in the other direction with about 4:5 stops to Central Station. The staff were really friendly and helpful, room serviced daily with a nice walk-in shower and the communal breakfast room was ideal for us plus there was a lovely cafe about 100 yds away if you fancied something a bit more like Eggs Benedict. The food in the bar downstairs was also good and had a beautifully cooked cannon of lamb at a very good price. Would definitely stay here again.

Shared facilities are a nice addition. Restaurant and pub below are good. The location is very convenient for those with their own transport. Rideshare cost to city from location is about $18-20. Lots of good food options within walkable distance though. A great option for a value conscious couple/solo traveler with their own transportation.

Clean room and private shower is what we selected. Two floors no elevator. There is a Bistro and Bar below the hotel. Andrew was friendly and helpful assisting us with our luggage to our room. Excellent Bistro menu and bar service. We had the Philly cheesesteak sandwich with fries and it was the best I ever had. We recommend the PC sandwich. I even complimented the chef loudly in the Bistro.

Superb accommodation! Very clean and in great condition. Although bathrooms were shared, they were always clean and tidy. The common room with an adjoining kitchen was amazing! The even provided free of charge breakfast options and tea/coffee. The pub downstairs had good food and drink options. And even though it was quiz night when we stayed, you could not hear anything from the rooms upstairs. Getting into Sydney CBD was very easy with the bus stop just across the road and a metro station a 15 minute walk away. We will stay here again when we come back to Sydney!

Fantastic hotel! The comfort was absolutely incredible and the service also. Fresh and clean bedroom and also bathroom! The bathroom was luxurious! This absolutely a place if you want comfort on the other hand it’s not so much for eat and drink, they offer you breakfast but not a buffè. The location and the public transport is the only thing that lower the rank.

We stayed 4 nights and ate dinner in the pub each night.

Staff were fabulous, friendly and really helpful. My only feedback would be that the bathroom was quite dirty, the shower didn’t look like it had been cleaned and there was hair on the floor. But other than that I would definitely stay again.

I booked a room for my sister and I as we had an event to attend that evening. Before we left I let the staff member that served me know that one of the cards wasn’t working at the door to get into the hotel. She said it’s fine I just need to wait before tapping the card again. We left the hotel and went to our event. My sister went back to the hotel first, I went out with friends. When I got back to the hotel at 2am the card didn’t open the door! I tried for 10 minutes and nothing, my sister didn’t answer her phone because she was fast asleep but that shouldn’t matter because the card should have opened the door!! I had to walk 30 minutes back to my car where the event was and sleep in my car as there were no Uber’s or taxi’s around and public transport had stopped. My sister called me about 30 - 60 minutes later and I walked 30 minutes back to finally be let in to the hotel. I’m a woman and I was walking around in the city alone and I was scared, I was cold because it’s the middle of winter. I prepared for this night by getting a hotel room and never in my wildest dreams did I think I would be left in a situation like that.

Great location for me across from a park, clean. There was no hot water only one morning and no electricity in the breakfast area. My room #3 was very loud from bar downstairs trivea night was the loudest. It was also next to the door for the outside access it was loud and the light was very bright. People were in & out all hours. Curtains were semi sheer so people could see in if lights were on. Should replace curtains with light blocking ones, for privacy & the light seems to be on a timer I was woken a few nights around 2am. I have recommended to my son in-laws friends.
