Ok I'll admit I had extremely low expectations for this place, it was literally half the price of the premier inn and holiday Inn express which I tried to book first but they were full. So I booked this place fully expecting some terrible experience. I feel ashamed because not only was the staff member who checked us in, lovely, friendly and accommodating the hotel itself was clean, fresh, had lovely big spacious rooms, lovely sea view, fluffy towels with complimentary toiletries, water bottles and coffee/tea making facilities, and abundance of plug sockets including usb charging near the bed. Shower had good water pressure too, bed was comfy (I would say personally I like a hard mattress) but this was soft. However can't knock them for my personal preference. I had a decent sleep, other guests were generally quiet, sea gulls can get a little noisy early morning but don't book a hotel by the sea of that sort of thing irritates you. There was secure garage parking available for a small fee if you have a motorbike it's ideal. Would definitely stay again.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. We booked a car parking space, £6 overnight which was extremely convenient in a private parking lot/garage opposite the hotel. You can also get a parking permit on the road outside for £4 if you're lucky enough to get a space. The room was standard, but big with plenty of space, beds were very comfy and cosy and towels were lovely and soft, it included bathroom and toilet, some rooms don't and are on a separate floor. They offer a continental style breakfast which we didn't try as we were looking to have hot food so we went out. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would visit again

Excellent Budget stopover. Clean, warm & good location for Eurotunnel. Reception member Jay checked us in (we called 20 mins prior to arrival as instructed) & gave us all the relevant info - very friendly & helpful. Dog friendly. We’ll be back 👍

We stayed here prior to Le shuttle, our room was recently decorated, clean and quiet and at a great price. The staff were helpful polite and cheerful. We paid an addition £4 for the on-street parking after 8am. We’d use Westward Ho again

Extraordinary view, awful parking opportunities for bigger cars, garages aren't suitable for SUVs and roof boxes. But nevertheless, short access to promenade and ocean side. Breakfast service was great and the breakfast itself was simple.

Not good. 1. The room is not clean. I saw women’s hair somewhere. In the bed 2. Why can’t change some new bedding ? Is not expensive. The bedsheets are pilling. Not comfortable. 3. Some odour in the room. Not fresh. 4. One panel of the curtain is broken, and I was woken up by the sunlight at 6 a.m.

The hotel is very old and not wel maintained. The hallway stinks like toilet. Fair enough its an old building so it make sense. I payed around €90 per night for a very small room with a double bed and a shower and toilet in a broom closet. Good things also: they allow dog and the breakfast was nice. Next time however, ill pay a bit more and find an upgrade. The staff was friendly

The hotel was excellent, especially considering the very reasonable price we paid. Although an old building, it was spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfortable. We also had a room with a sea view, and the hotel was 2 minutes walk from the lovely promenade. The lady that checked us in was very helpful and friendly. The hotel is also very convenient for the Channel Tunnel. Highly recommend.

Unfortunately our experience was terrible The staff however were friendly The room was very unclean walls marked and chipped radiator falling of the wall held up by a wardrobe Cobwebs on walls bathroom very damp and walls all stained and a hole in the wall also Although this was a low cost accomadation the level of clean lids was terrible and not acceptable snd I do not know how Hotels .com give a rating of 7:10 The breakfast was basic but adequate but again the flooring outside the breakfast room was unclean We had. Family room and the beds were metal with light timber slats my bed actually broke the 1st night snd I had to sleep on a mattress on the floor however bed was replaced when requested the next morning

Sadly no lock on window and being on the ground floor we were not able to open window due to room smelling very musty because of damp on walls Bed needs a topper and tightened up Second bedside lamp needed Loo made very strange noises Shower was not clean Room not clean… Positive note Night manager Jay was very helpful Towels were lovely Breakfast was very good Thank you for GF products

Clean room, but all a bit tired. Unfortunately, it was a very wet and windy night, and the sash window in our room wasn't closed properly. It took quite an effort to close it and it still rattled all night. Deapite that, we had a good night's sleep. rattled

Warm welcome from staff. Hotel dated. Beds creaky and need to be replaced. We had family room and woke each other up all night due to beds creaking when moving. Small bathroom en-suite was clean but pokey. Didn’t have breakfast. I’d stay again at a push but would rather pay slightly more for the comfort of a premier inn

Positives. Room spacious and clean. Negatives are mainly around reception. It isnt easy to ring 20 mins ahead when driving to the hotel. Long wait outside door with lots of other guests. Booking in laborious and time consuming. No wifi on 3rd floor and no where communal downstairs. Main door wide open when i left at 5.15.

One of the best things about Folkestone is how peaceful the seafront is, because there are no cars racing along it. The Westward Ho is in a dream position, with stunning sea views, calm and quiet surroundings, and gorgeous walks along the undercliff into central Folkestone and the harbour. Our room was good, though the shower and the sashcord windows were a bit ropey and needed a bit of attention.

After staying several times at the Westward Ho hotel, I’m always pleased with the no-fuss, friendly, clean, and professional atmosphere. Once again, the staff did not disappoint – the guy at check-in was super friendly and helpful (sorry I didn’t catch his name!). For the first time, I booked my stay including breakfast – and what a pleasant surprise! Karen, who was there bright and early at 7:30 am, welcomed everyone with a warm smile and professional service. Thank you, Karen! It was great to have cereals, fruit, toast, and croissants available just downstairs – very convenient and a lovely start to the day. Definitely check it out, and be sure to say hello to Karen from me!

There was a mix up with our room whereby someone else had been given it before we arrived although they hadn’t used it at all. The only problem with this is that the couple who thought they were in our room and had gone out for the evening arrived back and came into our room at 12.15am. The hotel staff had done their best to contact them during the evening but to no avail they even put a note on the door to tell Them their new room number but they even missed that. Everything else was fine though friendly staff and clean rooms albeit hot as the windows wouldn’t open very far. I would stay here again

Room was freezing cold and the radiators were turned off, beds were so uncomfortable, noise from other residents was not felt with until around 1am, the blinds in the room didn’t work and to top it off neither did the shower. This place was beyond uncomfortable.
Room was freezing cold and the radiators were turned off, beds were so uncomfortable, noise from other residents was not felt with until around 1am, the blinds in the room didn’t work and to top it off neither did the shower. This place was beyond uncomfortable.

The hotel was excellent, especially considering the very reasonable price we paid. Although an old building, it was spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfortable. We also had a room with a sea view, and the hotel was 2 minutes walk from the lovely promenade. The lady that checked us in was very helpful and friendly. The hotel is also very convenient for the Channel Tunnel. Highly recommend.

Had to call ring door bell there and then had to wait for someone to answer that to be told knock hard on the door as he can’t hear, knocked hard and then heard him having a telephone call saying “open the door they are there” the chap smelt of alcohol. Popped out to grab some dinner for the kids and there was a VERY STRONG smell of CANNABIS in and around the front door and there was a few people having around on the step smoking it which we had to walk out kids through. I was ready to leave there and then but had to remind myself it was one night kids were exhausted and excited for Disney. Overall the room was nice and clean, there was a dent/hole in the table top that had the kettle on, the bath panel was chipped and pealing. Check out was easy and just had to pop keys in the box.

Excellent Budget stopover. Clean, warm & good location for Eurotunnel. Reception member Jay checked us in (we called 20 mins prior to arrival as instructed) & gave us all the relevant info - very friendly & helpful. Dog friendly. We’ll be back 👍

Great communication and easy check in just ring ahead 20 mins before you arrive. Excellent location for the leascliffe hall and a nice walk along the cliff or the beach to Sandgate. Recommend.

One of the best things about Folkestone is how peaceful the seafront is, because there are no cars racing along it. The Westward Ho is in a dream position, with stunning sea views, calm and quiet surroundings, and gorgeous walks along the undercliff into central Folkestone and the harbour. Our room was good, though the shower and the sashcord windows were a bit ropey and needed a bit of attention.

had an enjoyful stay with gorgeous view on the sea and leas! super located for visit to the center (15 min on foot along the sea) or Le Shuttle terminal (15 min by car). we'll use it again!

Lovely little B&B close to the seafront. Stayed here during off season so they arranged to meet me at the B&B for check-in and the communication was excellent. Very friendly staff during check-in and out. Easily walkable to the town and train station

A lovely hotel with spacious, clean rooms and a convenient location, just a short walk to the town centre, and only a 15 minute drive to the Le shuttle terminal. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, making check-in and check-out quick and hassle free. The continental breakfast was simple yet enjoyable , and catered for allergens upon request. Overall, a pleasant and comfortable stay. We would happily return and recommend it to others.

The uninterrupted sea views are stunning. The continental breakfast at just £6 offers good filter coffee and a fine variety of cereals, pasteries, meats, cheeses, fruit and yoghurt. The staff are polite, attentive, and competent. For example, our room window mechanism failed, and a maintenance chap was in the room dealing with it within minutes.The rooms are clean, comfortable and large. There are complementary toiletries, chocolates and biscuits. Check in was very efficient. The location is perfect for walking along lovely gardens into town, and to the Harbour Arm. Parking is totally hassle free, as upon arrival, staff will organise your purchase an overnight residents permit at £3.50 a day (until 11am the following morning) to enable you to park in the residents bays outside the hotel and in the surrounding area. The hotel is a five minute walk to the bus stop where you can get routes to Dover & Deal or Canterbury for example. The train station is just a ten minute stroll from the hotel. The location is peaceful and attractive. The hotel facilities have far exceeded our expectations. Thank you.

Good location and size of room but in poor condition. The communal areas are poor too. Staff was good but breakfast was more of something very basic and no cooked items. Could have done the interior properly as they have few many properties and need looking after urgently.

It was a great stop off with a room for 5 of us which i found difficult to find elsewhere. Room was very clean and well presented. Staff were lovely and helpful. Breakgast is continental with lots of options. There was something we all liked. Great walking spot particularly as we had our 2 dogs this was a particularly good feature.

I had a great two night stay. The staff was friendly and helpful and aimed to please at all times. The continental breakfast was served in a very nice dining room, cosy, clean and welcoming. The food was fresh and covered several types of cereal and also a good selection of other items such as toast, croissants, pain au chocolate, meats and fruit. The coffee was fresh and delicious. If I could make only one suggestion and that is that the very large toilet roll holder in the shower room, is replaced with a tiny hand basin- this is very important. I enjoyed the gorgeous sea view and shall definitely be staying here again. I thoroughly recommend it.

Extraordinary view, awful parking opportunities for bigger cars, garages aren't suitable for SUVs and roof boxes. But nevertheless, short access to promenade and ocean side. Breakfast service was great and the breakfast itself was simple.

We used three family rooms and had a lovely single night stay in this beautiful well maintained and hospitable hotel. Would thoroughly recommend unless you only want all modern fittings or need a lift which this traditional building cannot offer.

I have booked a weekend away for our nephew as he just completed his exams. Unfortunately I have booked the wrong date, non refundable room, however their manager ( i do apologise, i cannot recall her name ) kindly moved our reservation for the right date, so for that I am really grateful. We had a nice stay, beautiful location, beautiful sea side view, quiet and spacious room, big enough for the 5 of us. The b&b is quite dated in places. The only negative I will have is the fact that we couldn't keep our window open, however that didn't affect our stay at all. Good value for money. I will definitely stay again if we visit the area again.
