Clean bedroom and bathroom, very comfy bed and excellent location with offstreet parking. A top spot at an excellent price. Unfortunately the chain smokers next door meant we couldnt have the screen door open for 'fresh' air.

The oval is a compact 60's style motel that has been tastefully refurbished and decorated. Our king bed was very comfortable and tbe room was quiet. The motel is centrally located so you can walk to many attractions . The staff were helpfull and efficient. It is very comfortable for a short stay or eating out. One small problem reminiscent of old motels , while the water was nice and very hot it did vary in temperature if another cold tap was turned on elswhere so be careful not to leave young ones in the shower . Also small but I think an exhaust fan would be good for the bathroom. Overall very good value .

This hotel was fine for what it was a cheap room with a king size bed which was really comfortable. Very tired room though, very small and a bit old fashioned. The air-conditioning light illuminated the room making it hard to sleep. One night stay is definitely maximum.

Great location and friendly staff. But it is on a busy road where the front rooms are noisy. I would specify a back room next time. Fantastic neon sign which I hope is preserved forever!

This charming property has many of the features of a high quality building from the 1960s. Rooms are quite small, but very ckean and comfortable. Hydronic heating and electric blanket made it a cosy spot to return to after dinner out and an evening's performance at the excellent Ulumbarra Theatre. All these attractions were only a 15 min stroll away. Trafgic noise did not intrude despite being on a main road. The staff were very friendly and helpful. My request to avoid smelly air freshener was taken seriously. The room had been thoroughly aired and there was not a whiff of nasty chemical smells. This is now my preferred location to stay in Bendigo.

I'm a pensioner who took her 4 grandchildren for an overnight stay. Unfortunately a can of coke was put in the freezer part of the bar fridge due to fridge not being cold, the can split and made a mess nothing major but I was told it stained. Because the 5 of us were squeezed into this tiny family room when cooking some toast for the children the smoke alarm constantly went off, no toast was burnt, no smoke. Then we were accused of taking the motel manual from the room, we never saw any manual and why would anyone want to take one of them. They took $200 from my account, disgusting behaviour from this so called business. See you at Vocat.

Great budget family room for family of 5. Staff were very accommodating when we had to extend our stay for 1 extra night. Will definitely use again in the future when we are back in the area.

Carolyn and Michael were great, so helpful when I rang to confirm the booking. Good value for money, very close to the city centre, we walked down through the park. I was there with a disabled person and they seemed to really enjoy their stay.

I had a wonderful stay. Caroline was an absolute delight to deal with and was very accomodating. I would definitely recommend this motel to others and hope to stay there in the future.

The room was small and cramped. The shower was small and had a large step up to get into it and no shower curtain which made the floor wet and slippery. I was not informed that the room was upstairs which is a problem for my daughter after operation. Owner never offered to change to downstairs room. Said they were full but I question that from what I saw. Dishes were dusty and no dishwashing liquid was provided. Only one toilet roll for two people for three days.

What a complete rip off. A group of colleagues and I stayed at the Oval whilst we attended the Australian Sheep and Wool show. Being that there was such a large event on in town the owner has decided charging $400+ per night per room was acceptable. What we got for this exorbitant price was a worn out, dirty, uncomfortable hotel that for the 4 days we stayed DID NOT SERVICE OUR ROOMS! $400+ PER NIGHT NO SERVICE. This hotel is 1 star, do not stay here!!

Very noisy location. Older motel which has been sorry of renovated. Mattress rolled into the middle. Could be cleaner. They're trying hard but the price was exorbitant for the facilities supplied.

Very comfortable bed, shower is amazing with good pressure, will admit the parking is a little scattered BUT! It works for them When it comes to the TV you get your major 5 but that's it, I suggest bringing a Chromecast or fire stick Amazing stay, 100% will stay again
