Clean and adequately equipped pantry/kitchen. Power outages may happen in tha geographical area. Parking in front of each unit is about 30m down a gentle gradient. Hence have to carry luggage upslope to the unit ( awareness of this when you travel with >2 luggages). Responsive owners. Nice stay though.

Comfortabel, ruim, modern en luxueus huisje. Bij receptie zijn een paar Tesla destination chargers (dus met vaste laadkabel) waar ook de huur PHEV gratis kon en mocht worden opgeladen Wat wij misten was een magnetron. Wel een luxe vaartwasser en gelukkig voir ons ook een afwasborstel.

We absolutely loved our stay at Heima Holiday Homes. The property was beautiful and modern, with everything we needed. The beds were incredibly comfortable—even the sofa bed! Our only wish was for a microwave. Unfortunately, it rained throughout our stay, so we didn’t get to see the Northern Lights. However, I can tell that on a clear night, this would be the perfect place to watch them. One of the highlights of our visit was being warmly greeted by their lovely dogs, Moi and Katla, every morning and whenever we arrived. It made our stay even more special! 💖

This was a really unique little house and we have never stayed in anything like it before. It was small and clean for our family of four and had everything we needed. The heated floors in the bathroom were a nice touch. We were able to prepare a meal in the little kitchen. No microwave. The host was nice and friendly. There is nothing in the immediate area so you have to plan to buy food at the supermarket which was about 15 mins away. The views were nice and the area was quiet. The owner has dogs which were friendly and came to say hello and play catch with us. I would recommend but be mindful that there are no stores or restaurants close by.

Wonderful cottage with all the kitchen items you need - toaster, oven, stove, coffee maker, kettle, fridge. Comfortable beds and linens, very quiet - out in the country, 20 minute drive to town (Selfoss) for groceries, restaurants, etc. The 2 family dogs are lovely. Communication was good, and no issues at check-in. Not far away from the Golden Circle route. Would highly recommend.

We had a fantastic time here. The cabin was warm, clean and spacious and private with everything we needed to be self sufficient catering-wise. It was fabulous to be able to just step out on the deck to see the Aurora two nights in a row! We'd highly recommend this fabulous accommodation!

The communication from the owner was clear and the unit was clean. We were able to see the Norther lights during our stay. However, you have to go through 1.5km gravel road to get there.

Heima holiday homes was an amazing stay. The cabin was lovely and cosy. It was nice and warm after a spending the day out in the cold. The sheets and towels were changed every day which we didn't expect. Cooking facilities were good as it was a lot cheaper and easier to cook ourselves. Fridge had plenty of space for our food and a small compartment for any freezer food. The shower and bathroom was also nice. There was a small problem with the TV where the remote stopped working which Helga sorted out for us. Netflix also wasn't working on the TV for some reason when we were relaxing at night but Helga again was amazing and provided us with a streaming stick we could use instead. Helga was very accommodating! The location was incredible. Out in the wilderness and out of the way of anyone else. Lucky enough to see the Northern Lights on our last night there! The snow had all gone by the time we got to Iceland sadly but it made getting to the accommodation very easy but I can imagine a good 4x4 would be necessary if there was snow, which you would need anyway if you're planning on driving yourself. To top it off, Helga's two dogs are gorgeous and always up for playing with a frisbee or ball while your outside! I'd highly recommend the stay to anyone and would definitely revisit if we ever plan a trip around Iceland again.

Our first two nights in Iceland were here and it couldn’t have been more perfect! The dogs on the property made this one of our favorite stays of all time. We loved being greeted by them and playing fetch outside. Inside was very spacious and clean. Check in was super easy.

This was among our favourite stays during our 2 weeks in Iceland. Absolutely gorgeous countryside location without light pollution to see the aurora from our private deck. The cabin was spacious, immaculately clean, and had everything we needed to cook dinner and store groceries (good size fridge and all the kitchen equipment one could possibly need). The heated flooring was delightful - especially after staying out in the cool evening to view the aurora. There are dogs and sometimes puppies on the property, which are extremely friendly and good tempered. We hope to return to Iceland someday and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!!

Nice stay. The houses are very remote and dining options are about a 20-30 minute drive. The rooms were clean, our shower was clogged though. It’s a great place to view the northern lights since it is so remote. Great stay and seamless/easy check in.

Love love loved this property! It was our favorite in Iceland. The 3 dogs were a superb bonus to be able to wake up to and play with before starting our day. Home was extremely clean and fresh towels provided daily. It was nice to have a tv with Netflix to be able to unwind a bit before bed. Would definitely stay again!

Had a great stay here. By far the biggest room we had in Iceland. Communication was great from the owners and check-in/check-out was seamless. Best views of the night sky we had during our trip. If you're looking for peace and quiet, you'll get it here. If I'm being honest, there was a bit of a smell in our bathroom, but I'm guessing this is because it's a septic system. Not uncommon and it wasn't overwhelming.

We loved this property! The owners were perfect (they went above and beyond when we needed them for a very minor medical concern, but did not interfere otherwise), the accommodations were as advertised, the room was comfortable and cozy, and the dogs made the place seem like home. It was a bit snug for a family of four, but it was so comfortable that we were all happy. The big shower and bathroom with heated floor was nice for drying out hiking gear, and it honestly heated the entire space (in June we turned off all other heat and opened windows). How can you not feel happy when you are staying in an idyllic place like this and look out and see adorable dog faces begging you to come outside to play with them?!

This was our favorite property on our tour of the ring road. The home was spacious, clean and had everything we needed. The towels were larger than any other place and softer. The site was easy to operate and the water pressure was great. Best of all, there were two pillows for each of us.

We loved the location and the sites we wanted to see on the golden circle route were within an hours drive. The heated floors were nice to have during our Winter visit and the kitchen had the things we needed to prepare our meals. The doggie visits were fun and they are very sweet. The property was clean and we enjoyed our stay.

Great location to watch the Aurora and explore southern Iceland. Selfoss is a nice little town with grocery stores and restaurants 20 min away. The standalone room was very nice, super comfortable and well equipped. Beautiful views, all around, very quiet and peaceful.

These homes look great from the outside, but the inside is another story. The windows are small, the temperature is hard to control, all the furniture and fittings were the cheapest possible. The bed was too soft and the whole atmosphere is depressing.

This property way my favorite of our stay. Nice location to end a day of the Golden Circle. Selfoss is close to have dinner. The house was so cute and clean. We arrived late but the key was waiting for us. Netflix is available to watch on the TV. The dogs are super playful and a nice touch since we are dog lovers.

Heima holiday homes was an amazing stay. The cabin was lovely and cosy. It was nice and warm after a spending the day out in the cold. The sheets and towels were changed every day which we didn't expect. Cooking facilities were good as it was a lot cheaper and easier to cook ourselves. Fridge had plenty of space for our food and a small compartment for any freezer food. The shower and bathroom was also nice. There was a small problem with the TV where the remote stopped working which Helga sorted out for us. Netflix also wasn't working on the TV for some reason when we were relaxing at night but Helga again was amazing and provided us with a streaming stick we could use instead. Helga was very accommodating! The location was incredible. Out in the wilderness and out of the way of anyone else. Lucky enough to see the Northern Lights on our last night there! The snow had all gone by the time we got to Iceland sadly but it made getting to the accommodation very easy but I can imagine a good 4x4 would be necessary if there was snow, which you would need anyway if you're planning on driving yourself. To top it off, Helga's two dogs are gorgeous and always up for playing with a frisbee or ball while your outside! I'd highly recommend the stay to anyone and would definitely revisit if we ever plan a trip around Iceland again.

Great location to watch the Aurora and explore southern Iceland. Selfoss is a nice little town with grocery stores and restaurants 20 min away. The standalone room was very nice, super comfortable and well equipped. Beautiful views, all around, very quiet and peaceful.

This was a beautiful, modern cabin, which was very clean and in a great location to visit the golden circle, and see the northern lights. The self check-in was very easy and convenient.

Love the privacy and location. Property is clean and in good condition. 20 minutes from Selfoss for restaurants and grocery stores. The two cute dogs on the property are friendly and playful.

Nice stay. The houses are very remote and dining options are about a 20-30 minute drive. The rooms were clean, our shower was clogged though. It’s a great place to view the northern lights since it is so remote. Great stay and seamless/easy check in.

Wonderful cottage with all the kitchen items you need - toaster, oven, stove, coffee maker, kettle, fridge. Comfortable beds and linens, very quiet - out in the country, 20 minute drive to town (Selfoss) for groceries, restaurants, etc. The 2 family dogs are lovely. Communication was good, and no issues at check-in. Not far away from the Golden Circle route. Would highly recommend.

The communication from the owner was clear and the unit was clean. We were able to see the Norther lights during our stay. However, you have to go through 1.5km gravel road to get there.

Had a great stay here. By far the biggest room we had in Iceland. Communication was great from the owners and check-in/check-out was seamless. Best views of the night sky we had during our trip. If you're looking for peace and quiet, you'll get it here. If I'm being honest, there was a bit of a smell in our bathroom, but I'm guessing this is because it's a septic system. Not uncommon and it wasn't overwhelming.

We were two couples traveling together, each rented their own cabin for 3 nights in May of 2023. The location makes a great base camp for exploring the Golden Circle sights and the Vik area coastline. The location is excellent, private but easily accessible and close to the charming (and growing) village of Selfoss. Selfoss has excellent dining options. cabins are spacious yet cozy, new, clean and well appointed. Full kitchen for meal prep, nice size bathroom with great shower.

We loved the location and the sites we wanted to see on the golden circle route were within an hours drive. The heated floors were nice to have during our Winter visit and the kitchen had the things we needed to prepare our meals. The doggie visits were fun and they are very sweet. The property was clean and we enjoyed our stay.

Amazing property . Already planing the next trip back , home from home and amazing shower and bed . Bice to come home on a dark evening after a long day and just relax . Kitchen was so well kitted out . It saved so much been able to cook on an evening

This was a really unique little house and we have never stayed in anything like it before. It was small and clean for our family of four and had everything we needed. The heated floors in the bathroom were a nice touch. We were able to prepare a meal in the little kitchen. No microwave. The host was nice and friendly. There is nothing in the immediate area so you have to plan to buy food at the supermarket which was about 15 mins away. The views were nice and the area was quiet. The owner has dogs which were friendly and came to say hello and play catch with us. I would recommend but be mindful that there are no stores or restaurants close by.

This was among our favourite stays during our 2 weeks in Iceland. Absolutely gorgeous countryside location without light pollution to see the aurora from our private deck. The cabin was spacious, immaculately clean, and had everything we needed to cook dinner and store groceries (good size fridge and all the kitchen equipment one could possibly need). The heated flooring was delightful - especially after staying out in the cool evening to view the aurora. There are dogs and sometimes puppies on the property, which are extremely friendly and good tempered. We hope to return to Iceland someday and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!!

We had a fantastic time here. The cabin was warm, clean and spacious and private with everything we needed to be self sufficient catering-wise. It was fabulous to be able to just step out on the deck to see the Aurora two nights in a row! We'd highly recommend this fabulous accommodation!

What a unique and amazing stay! My family of four had a great time making this our home for one night. Convenient location to where we needed to be, with responsive and kind staff - they even let me borrow their electric voltage converter because our luggage got lost by the airline and we didn't have ours. Highly recommend!

Nice and quiet, beautiful views, many birds to watch, landlords available for questions. Unpaved road doable with "normal" car if you drive slowly and avoid the potholes. Centrally located, but quiet and secluded. Floor heating comes on automatically, but you can open the windows.

Sehr gut gelegen um die Umgebung zu erkunden. Jedes Haus mit eigenem Parkplatz. Wir durften unseren PHEV beim Haupthaus laden. Sehr freundliche Kommunikation und kontaktloser Check-in. Alles sauber und gut organisiert

Heima Holiday Homes are located just a short drive from town, and offers supreme serenity and great Mountain View. Self-checkin was hassle free. The home was fully furnished and equipped. Floor was heated, including bathroom floor. We especially enjoyed the company of the property’s two friend dogs who came by my cabin and played ball with us (the dog brought its own ball to ask us to play, so cute!) The only one thing I would ask for is a little shelf in the shower area for us to place our own toiletries instead of having to put them on the floor.
