Old Orchard Beach Motel

This was my first time staying in OOB. I don’t really have many complaints about my stay. The receptionist was helpful at check in. the beds and room were fairly clean; plastic pads on bed, clean blankets. I wish the bathroom/toilet was cleaned a bit better though. The tv is pretty big and you can connect to streaming services. the wifi is spotty but we were out most of the time so it wasn’t a huge deal. there is a train track right behind the motel and gets loud but it’s along the back of the whole strip of motels. it was a short walk to the main area of town and the beach access is directly across the street. There are restaurants and shops all the way down the street the motel is on as you walk towards town. The pool goes to 8ft and is heated which was a nice perk. I would probably stay here if i came back.

Great location wonderful staff and yea a very well maintained heated yes heated pool! Great location with an exceptional price.

Motel qui vient juste d’être rénové. : Chambre repeint, plancher de vinyle neuf (facile d’entretien avec la sable) armoire de la cuisinette à jour, lit double confortable. Très bien et très propre pour un motel d’Old Orchard. Propriétaire et sa sœur très sympathique et accommodants. Piscine chauffée. A 1 minute de la plage.

Endroit bien situé, stationnement trop petit, endroit propre mais salle de bain étroite. Escalier extérieure dangereuse (marches de hauteur irrégulières. Le propriétaire est très gentil. La piscine était très agréable.

The stopper in the lavatory sink needs adjusting so that it will open. The size of the parking spaces is inadequate (too short) for the large pick-up trucks belonging to quests. If pick-up trucks are parked nearby, it can be impossible for a sedan to access a parking space because the driving space between lines of parked vehicles is narrowed by long body trucks.

We had the best stay at this motel! Such a throwback beach vibe in oob, and this motel has a clean pool, walk to beach EASILY! And the staff at this place is so nice, accommodating and friendly. We had a big vehicle and the staff helped us find good parking and when we needed anything they were a huge help.

Everything was awesome! The parking is tight but the guys parked the car for me which was wonderful.

Pro: The location was great. Very close to the beach and just far enough from the boardwalk that it wasn’t loud and congested. Con: The property was unsafe. The handrail for the stairs broke off. The top step was extremely high and dangerous. The pool was not clean. The outside trash was spilling over and never emptied. The toilet did not flush properly. The room was not clean (hair in the tub, floors were filthy) and they don’t clean the room during your stay. We had to ask for toilet paper, towels, and trash bags. We requested that the floor be swept and it wasn’t. Parking is tight. The train makes the whole place shake and is very loud. Originally I reserved the room for 1 night but our plans changed and we were there for 3 nights. Never again

We loved our stay at the OOB Motel. The property was cute, though parking was definitely a challenge. They cleared an area for us to park, but the lot was hard to maneuver. The property was walking distance from the pier and beach, but tucked away enough that it was quiet and peaceful. The pool looked very clean and well maintained, but we did not get a chance to use it, Upon arrival, we were informed that there was an issue with Expedia, and our room had been double booked. Although they could've turned us away, they upgraded us to a newly renovated condo style setup that was much better fit for us. It was gorgeous, with a large spacious living room, fully stocked kitchen and even a patio. Each room was very comfortable, with a TV, and closet space to store our items. We only wished we could’ve stayed longer! Overall, we were very pleased with our stay and would love to return next time we are in Maine. Thank you OOB Motel!! - The Parkers

I received a call from the property around 1pm, asking when I was checking in, I explained that I thought check in was at 4pm, he said our room was ready and asked when we thought we would be there, which I said around 3-3:30pm. We arrive at 3:30pm, he is not there so I call the number left on the door and he says “can you come back at 4pm?”. I expressed that he had called me not long before saying my room was ready. He says “oh I did, I will be back in 5-10 minutes.” When getting into our FIRST room, the fridge/freezer was leaking all over the floor, so I called them. They came up and offered us another room (beside this one). I said “oh, is it ready?” And he says “let me go check.” He then said it was. So we go into our new room, when we went to lay down, there was stains on the sheets (looking like blood). I sent a message to the property, asking for new sheets, which he replied “what room.” I told him what room. Didn’t hear anything for a few, I then asked if I needed to come get the sheets myself and he says “I’ll bring them, fixing a door real quick”. Very shortly after a kid knocks on our door, with new sheets (rolled in a ball and not folded) but they did smell clean. This kid also had a parrot on his shoulder. Overall it was a very uncomfortable and unpleasant evening. Would not stay here again.

Do not stay here. I repeat, DO NOT STAY HERE. The website is so misleading. This place is so run down and the rooms are filthy. Hotels.com should be embarrassed to work with them. It advertised the room accommodated up to 6 guests. There were only 2 full sized beds! How would that accommodate 6 adults? It shows a kitchenette, but there are absolutely no kitchenware to use in the kitchenette. What good is a stove without a frying pan or spatula? There were no cups, plates, bowls, anything. The beds were horribly uncomfortable and we could feel every spring in the mattress. There were holes and dents all over the walls and the floors looked like they hadn't been mopped in months. The shower did not get hot, more like luke warm at best. And it is advertised at "Ocean front"...no. There is nothing ocean front about it. The ocean is across the street behind other ocean front resorts. Not to mention the resort is run by teenagers and they literally have a 12 year old child cleaning the rooms. We felt bad for the poor kid. We ended up leaving a day early because we could not bare to spend another night there.

We had a great stay the room is aged but very clean and great location. The parking lot is tiny so it was tricky parking our car. I would not advise for larger vehicles. The owner came by and greeted us which was very nice.

Friendly staff and the room was ok but the parking set up was difficult to maneuver through and the floors were not swept/mopped.

Place is dusgusting. I regret booking this property. Highly recommend staying somewhere else. Dirty, no staff, etc

Okay overall for the price. Easy access to the beach and a short walk to the pier. Check in was easy and the bedding was clean. Check out is 10am but they allow you to leave your car til 3pm for free parking. However, the floors made your feet black within the first few minutes of walking on them, so keep your shoes on as they do not mop frequently. My biggest complaint is the room doors only lock with an outdoor keypad, No interior swing bar locks inside the room. Shortly after entering our room another family opened our door with the key pad, not realizing we had checked in. So I think its safe to assume they do not change the pin numbers in between guests which is a little unsettling.

This was very expensive for what we got. The room was very cramped with a table too large for the space, we had to always squeeze by to get to the kitchenette or bathroom. The place was not very clean !! All dishes had to be washed before using as they were dirty … including the stove, and all utensils. The utensil drawer was filthy! The bathroom was very small and you basically had to step into the shower stall backwards in or to get in…. Hardly any room to turn around. I had to go out and buy cleaning products and cleaning towels to clean what I needed. No hot water come evenings …. Also not very quiet at night ! Got woke up 2 nights out of the 3 nights we stayed. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I will never stay here again.

Notre chambre était sale, on a dû laver le plancher en arrivant. Les lits inconfortables et défoncées. On ne savait pas s’ils allaient tombés par terre. Nous avons manqué d’eau, la cuisinière ne fonctionnait pas. Nous devions toujours demander des serviettes et du papier de toilettes. Nous avons oublié deux paires d’espadrilles de course dans notre chambre à notre départ. Nous avons rappelé rapidement au motel et étrangement, ils ne les ont jamais retrouvés. Derrière le motel, c’est rempli de déchet… Sérieusement éviter cet endroit, JAMAIS nous y retourneront.

The hotel is in a good location easy walk to restaurants, shops and beach. The shower is very small and could use a shelf to hold items. The room was decent, clean, bed was comfortable. Small doable things should be addressed such as the bathroom door should have been replaced. The parking lot is a little tight. I stayed in room 7. Pool looked clean and nice.

Nice motel… wifi didn’t work so we had no tv for the 3 nights we were there. Other than that we have no complaints.

There’s a train track right behind the motel, with an Amtrak train going by. I’m not sure why many reviews did not mention it, but it was so loud! It scared me and woke me up during my sleep several times. The train horn goes off LOUDLY each time it passes by, and it does run throughout the night. I am a light sleeper. My kids did sleep through most of it. Had I known this, I would not have booked. Otherwise, it’s near the beach, place was clean. The parking lot is definitely tight. The beds were not too bad. Overall, it was an okay stay. Wouldn’t go back

There is a train that comes by at night about every 2 hours. If you’re a light sleeper this may not be the place for you. No regular tv channels and horrible WiFi to connect any streaming networks. Outside the room the internet was fine but once inside room 8 it was horrible. I will say this place is close by and easy to walk the shops/pier which is good because there is no free parking anywhere that I saw, even at 4am. We wouldn’t stay here again as OOB was a little too chaotic for us.

Room wasn’t as clean as ide like, beds are so UNCOMFORTABLE, they slope towards the headboard and made it difficult to get comfortable. Pillows???? Bring your own. Noise levels from adjacent rooms and above are noisy

The parking lot when fully booked is awful especially if you have a suv. The beds were not queen size and the room was tiny. The sign for the pool says it's open from 9am to 9pm but was locked so the kids couldn't swim before check out at 10. It was average at best. There are definitely better places for the same price.

Staff was attentive & accommodating to our needs. Close to the beach, walking distance to attractions. Thank you for making the bachelorette party weekend perfect & reaching out for the upgrade option! We will be back!

**Pros:** It's just a 2-minute walk to the beach. Nice clean and heated pool. **Cons:** Freight trains run behind the hotel all night! Read that again… still here? Ok… The place is run by a group of teenagers, and the cleanliness is below average. We had to ask for towels and soap, as none were provided upon our arrival. There was only one roll of toilet paper, and no staff were available to supply more, so we had to use our own paper towels instead. The bath towels were stained. Overall, it felt more like living in a campground than staying at a motel, especially considering the better options available next door. The staff were often absent, making it seem more like a campground shack. This was the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. I would recommend avoiding it.

Nouveau propriétaire depuis janvier 2024, très sympathique et ouvert aux suggestions. Le motel n'est pas neuf et nécessite quelques travaux mais des améliorations ont déjà apportées (ex.: déco, air climatisés, télévisions) et d'autres seront complétées après la haute saison selon le propriétaire (ex.: matelas, fenêtres). Le stationnement est un peu serré mais il y a de la place pour 1 vehicule par chambre. Somme toute, nous avons aimé notre expérience.

Train woke me up at 6am with its horns blasting. And after finally getting back to sleep the fire alarm went off for the whole motel and because there is only an employee there from 9am-9pm, it took until the fire department arrived to do anything.

Great experience. Super friendly. Beach is literally across the street and an easy walk to shops and palace playland. Loved having a kitchenette and a pool. Definitely will be back.

Nice hotel. Great location. Were able to park once and walk to save on parking costs. Rate was right in our affordable price range which is why we chose it. Will stay there again for sure. . But will bring smaller vehicle. Parking is tight and crew cab truck was hard to park and get back out.
