Got a smoke-room even though I ordered a non-smoke room, it was disgusting. No hot water for the 4 days I stayed there, super noisy, and very trashy hotel. I was also overcharged for changing rooms

According to my exprience with Expedia never chosen room without bathroom , airco and a fridge. Could we still imagine 28 deg without cooling. Would appreciate if an attention has been sent to me knowing my profile.

There was only one shower and one toilet for the whole third floor of over two dozen rooms. Fortunately, the floor didn't appear to be fully booked. Staff ensured I had a quiet room far from the onsite Gentleman's Club. My room had a portable fan for cooling.

This is a very old property. The ground floor houses a strip club.The only hotel I have ever stayed in that did not provide: shampoo, conditioner and body wash & only one mini bar of soap. One towel that was threadbare, no facecloth or hand towel. No elevator, no A/C. The worst is the mattress & pillows should have been tossed 10 years ago. It did have a decent TV.

Requires improvement on: - audio insulation due to the noise on the hallway and adjacent rooms; - hot water flow as it takes minutes to get a hot water in the bathroom; - website should emphasize that some basic toiletries are not provided, e.g. shampoo

The hotel is not what it seemed as advertised. There is no air conditioning. It is very dated. The bathroom is extremely dated and not what was expected. There is also a gentleman's club downstairs. Not appreciated.

Air conditioner was noisy but we were grateful for it. The hot water is good but you have to wait a while for it - we were on the 3rd floor. No elevator. 10 min walk to the Eaton Centre, 15-20 to St Lawrence Market.

It's a strip club on the main level. 50 stairs to get to our room on the 3rd floor. Clerk had us wait 15 minutes while in a call regarding Expedia undercharging for the rooms. No shampoo. No coffeemaker. No mini fridge. No microwave. Stained sheets. Very noisy beds that wake everyone up when you move. Can't check out until room is inspected - wait for $50 deposit to be returned. In short, it's a dive and shouldn't cost more than $100 a night. But I get the impression that they normally rent by the hour.

I booked two nights here but left after one. The place was awful. The first floor reeked of smoke even though it’s supposed to be non-smoking. My room was filthy, with dust everywhere that a quick cleaning could have fixed. The shower sometimes would just stop feeding cold water, so it became insanely hot. The bed was advertised as a queen but felt more like a double. On top of that, the hotel sits over a strip club. Around 3 in the morning people were screaming outside and it was impossible to sleep. When I woke up, I packed up and moved to another hotel. Would not recommend.

The staff were great very helpful. The room was dusty mice running around the hot water took forever to get hot the bed sheets were stained. The area not safe a gentlemen club downstairs noisy drug addicts homeless people around the area not safe.

This was the worst hotel experience of my life. The second day I had to move rooms because *something* had bitten into an unopened chips bag. And the fact that the guy at the front desk said "so you saw a mouse in your room" in the same way he asked if I had seen the CN tower says a lot. I had to change hotels my last night because I felt anxieties and nauseous my whole stay here. And oh, did I mention it shares the building with a strip club?

I stayed at Filmores for 10 days in late November 2024. I had read reviews saying the rooms were old and smelled old, and that is true. However, for the price I was paying, I felt it served me very well. Bedroom was clean, had enough space, shower worked fine. The only problem I had with the room was that there was only one power socket and it was in the bathroom above the toilet, and the toilet had no upper lid (very weird and anti-hygienic). One morning, though, there was an issue: I woke up to find some chocolate bars I had left unopened on the counter now scratched and bit open. Clearly a rat had been in the bedroom. I complained and they moved me to a new room, but there was no word on refunding me for the stuff I lost or giving me a discount. New bedroom had a power socket near the bed (great!) and an upper lid on the toilet (great!), but one of the buttons on the remote didn’t work and I could hear the beat from the club in the basement until late at night. Also, one of the sink faucets broke. The rat kinda ruined everything because not only was it disgusting but also because hotel staff didn’t really do anything to compensate for it and even refused to give me a late checkout, which I really needed (they claimed they couldn’t rent the room if they did that, but the hotel was empty). So, in a way, pretty disappointed. But other than that, staff was friendly and helpful. Hotel has great localization, close to everything.

The room and bathroom was clean and as expected for a 2star facility. The bed and bedding was adequate. The 1 hand towel and 1 "bath towel" provided for 2 guests for a 2 night stay were threadbare, thin and gray but smelled clean. Would consider bringing your own. On a positive note we had a problem with the toilet on arrival that was dealt with quickly and effectively. The hotel was quiet at all hours of the day and night. I would not walk around that area at night alone but in daylight if you walked with confidence there were no issues.

Very clean room. Very clean facility. Excellent staff. Just know it's a budget facility and the amenities reflect that.

It is close to downtown and union station. The hotel is above a club so I could hear a bit of noise at night. However, during my stay, I woke up at night to a mouse eating my crackers, 3 stars

Room was WAY outdated but it was clean nonetheless. Shower (with 2 knobs) only had one temperature: cold so I didn’t bother. Girl that checked me in was friendly, but she was trying to get too much done at once so you could tell her stress level was to the max (she was a hard worker but too focused on too much for one person). Good price and a decent night sleep (but noisy outside, especially at night)

The staff are very friendly, but it’s in an area of the city with a lot of homeless people and mental health challenges. They hang around the area of the hotel and will bother you if you’re just standing outside. The bed was very uncomfortable, extra pillows were unavailable, and face cloths were unavailable as well. The experience felt like a step up from camping, but lacking in basic hotel amenities.

I booked a “queen bed with A/C.” It is a double bed and A/C stuck on 77. To pay this kind of dollar for this is ridiculous. I am not one to complain but this is false advertising. And no phone in room in case one needs “help”. Very disappointed

Very out dated. Their queens are actually doubles. Needed literally just for sleep so it was fine. Didn't hear anything. Don't expect anything, no conveniences. But, overall it was fine.

We choose to be on the top floor so we wont hear the noise from the Stip club downstairs but UNFORTUNATELY! we can still hear some people outside talking and the when your trying to sleep you can hear the spring of the bed! we barely sleep specially me and there is no hot water plus the airconditios was not cooling well but the STAFF are welcoming and friendly we just booked for a night on this hotel, accessibility it is nearby to everything that you need good for a sleepover only and if your looking for a budget friendly hotel this is for you

Stayed for 4 nights. Sold as a queen room with AC. The bed is definitely not a queen and it was hard as a board. The AC was basically like a fan and did not throw very cold air. You have to run hot water for 10 minutes or more before it gets hot but it was very hot once it came in. All staff were extremely helpful and nice. It wasn't too noisy considering the area. Definitely would not go out at night in the area

Very noisy floor and bed, poor lighting, cramped room. Definitely a low rent/flop house feel to the place.

This hotel is not for everyone. It is bare-bones budget hotel that shares a building with a strip club. If you are OK with that, then it might work for you. The sheets are threadbare but clean. The room is stuffy but there is a fan. You have to run the taps for a LONG time to get hot water, but there is hot water. The hotel decor is dated but very clean. The staff is excellent. I had a great stay. I had researched the hotel beforehand so I knew what to expect.

The staff were super friendly and our room was clean. The room was very basic and very out dated, not to mention there was no A/C or mini fridge, but clean was all we were hoping for. We needed a hotel very last minute and everything in Toronto was sold out or a thousand dollars a night. We should have done more research on this hotel as we didn’t realize that it has a Gentleman’s club attached to it, which could make for a fun weekend if you are looking for mthat sort of thing. I also feel as if this hotels location is in a rougher area as there were a lot of homelesss and mentally ill people around. But like I said, the staff was pleasant and the rooms were clean.

The lady at the front desk was super friendly. Check in and check out was a breeze. The hotel room was clean, quiet and comfortable. It is in a rougher part of town, but I highly recommend for a solo trip. Strip club downstairs isn’t as loud as I expected it to be. Honestly no complaints. Will definitely book this hotel again!

The staff were really good, the one gentleman walked us to our uber to make sure we got into the vehicle safely when we had to leave very early. The room was clean but definitely outdated. The building is shared with a strip club so the music got a little loud, more so when the window was opened. The area is just slightly too far to comfortably walk to the downtown area in my opinion but ubering right downtown is inexpensive. Overall a decent stay, and was not bad in the slightest especially if you’re not spending a bunch of time in the hotel.

Front desk was very kind and helpful. The lock on our room didn't work but we were relocated to a room with the same layout with a working lock. There were some cigarette burns on the sheets. But good place for the price.

I had a great 2 nite stay - front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Yes the rooms are dated but they have a great cleaning staff. It certainly met i needed and im headed back there again in September.

The Filmore is my go to Hotel when i go to Toronto. The staff is friendly.

There was a new employee and he was South-Asian working at the front desk. I couldn’t catch his name but despite him being new, he was very accommodating and made our trip super smooth. I was there for Toronto Pride. Thank you for helping us :)

I checked in on 4/28 after 8 PM. The front desk agent was very hostile and rude!!! I met a few other front desk agents and the clean lady and they were friendly and professional!

Neighborhood extremely sketchy.

Easy check in and check out. Close to train station. Large homeless population near hotel. So be prepared to deal with people asking for money when you walk out.

Very central location, staff were excellent! But its very close to some areas where there's a lot of homeless and indigent people milling about. You don't want to go for a random walk!

This hotel is recommended for those that want an affordable room in Toronto that is close to transportation, shopping, food, and entertainment. Don't let the outside appearance and surroundings fool you. This hotel is clean, with a professional and welcoming staff, and is a short taxi ride (or short jog/power walk) to the train station.

Booked in a year out as it was a busy weekend of concerts and other events in the city. Was pleasantly surprised by the hotel. Only thing missing was a fridge which wasn't a big deal. Worth it for the price. Close walking distance to almost everything.

An amazing hotel full of character and charm. Less than ten minutes walk to Yonge and Dundas. Would recommend and would stay here again.

The area is not upsale to say the least. So many people in DT area till late so relatively safe. The front desk in and check out were great. Ask for 2nd floor and up as Club on lower level. I found the room worth the price.

I was coming into town for a concert and decided to stay overnight instead of taking the GO Train back home. I am from Toronto originally so I'm familiar with Filmores and the surrounding area. This part of downtown has always been rough around the edges, so if you're new to the area please be mindful that this is downtown in a major city and there is a lot going on. This hotel reminded me a lot of places like St. Mark's Hotel in New York City: An older building with a lot of history. Yes, there is a strip club downstairs. Who cares? You can't beat the location and every hotel has a story to tell. I did wonder if this place might be haunted though, but I didn't encounter any ghosts during my short stay. Overall it was totally fine as a place to crash for the night. The inside of the hotel was quite quiet. I thought I might be the only person staying on my floor but in the morning I saw cleaners fixing up other rooms nearby. Usually I find hotels noisy with people coming and going but this was the opposite. The hotel is on a streetcar line and walking distance to Yonge and Dundas, one of the busiest intersections you could be at. You will hear street traffic from outside but if you have the A/C on and bring ear plugs you'll be good to go for a great night's sleep. My room was clean and great for a quick stay. It's not a fancy place but it does the job and the girl at the front desk was very nice. I would definitely stay here again.

No conditioner, toilet outside room and shower to. No breakfast included. So but everything outside is perfect: foods, drinks, walkway and shops is nearby. I recommend it for everyone traveler.
