Rodeway Inn Charlotte Airport Area

This was the NASTIEST hotel I've ever stayed. All flights at the airport was cancelled due to a storm in the area and this was the only hotel available. 1st it was listed there was a airport shuttle, when i called the hotel to find out what times does the shuttle run, they said they do not havw a shuttle. I said, but it's listed on your profile. Their response was ' i don't know why they said that' 2- upon arrival there was a group of guys like a gang/drug sellers right outside the front of the hotel smoking. 3- my room was SUPPOSED to be NON SMOKING but the stench of smoke flaired my sinus as soon as I opened the room door. 4- the room was FILTHY!!!!!!!!! Flies on the drapes and shower curtains, dead roach on the floor. MOLD ALL OVER THE TUB AND BATHROOM SINK!!!! Like they never even attemped to clean the room. There was also a huge punch hole in the bathroom door. This place reminded me of a motel for druggies and prostitutes!!!! There was no iron or ironing board!!! 5- i called front desk to let them know my displeasure, she told me there was no other room available. I said fine, just refund me. She told me no refund on the room . I said this room is filthy and i cant stay here, what kind of hotel is this? Her response, very nonchalantly 'a cheap one!!' DO NOT STAY AT THIS PLACE!!! NOT EVEN IF ALL FLIGHTS ARE CANCELLED. YOU'RE BETTER OF SLEEPING IN THE AIRPORT!

This was such a good decision. The front desk employee was beyond sweet, especially when I was pulling in at almost midnight and completely exhausted. She made everything go smoothly and the beds were so comfortable! I highly recommend staying here on your journey! They only charge $5 for the shuttle from airport.

I didn't get to stay in this hotel. I canceled it right after I booked it because I needed for the night and they want me to come later in the afternoon, I told the lady I don't need later bc I was fly and my flight was delayed. She told me she can get me at night but didn't have any shuttle available then how am I suppose to get there? They charged me when I never used they services. Don't use them! I can believe they changed me when I specifically canceled it!

This was the 2nd worse hotel I've ever been to, outside of an airport hotel in miami. For starters, airport transportation was advertised, but it's not available. There's even a shuttle with rodeway on it and the driver says they dont go there anymore. Cost an extra $40 that wasn't accounted for. Front desk staff has no personality. Seems to be immigrants just looking to get by. Toilet in the room wasn't working and it didn't even seem to surprise the staff. No trash bins in room, Water dripping in the shower. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!

Rodeway Inn CLT provided a cozy room and friendly service, the $5 airport ride option was handy. The staff were attentive, and the room was comfortable. Overall, a good choice for budget-conscious travelers

The property was well lit. This is definitely a pay for what you get. There were people lurking around at 230 in the AM when my flight arrived late. The door inside appeared as if it had been kicked in at one point and door lock replaced. There was "browning" of the some of the linens showing excessive use. This is the type of place you check for bed bugs. Thankfully none found on my stay

I.am the type of person when traveling who just wants a cheap, clean, and functional room to sleep in with the advertised amenities. This place may have been cheap but .... Everything was broken. The toilet seat moved. Before learning this. It pinched my leg while sitting on it and I have a 3 inch round bruise from it. I attempted to tighten. The bolts but the bolts just spun and needed replaced The toilet needed to be flushed two or three times after each use. There was no hot water. The security latch to the door was missing. Several electrical outlets just didn't work. If you plugged something into them it would just fall out. The television turned on but there were no channels to watch. Serval light bulbs were either burned out or flickering. The seal around the outside door was missing huge chunks and let in a draft. There are holes in the shower wall from a missing grab bar. Ice machine was out of order. There is a huge crack in the bathroom floor where the sub floor is exposed. The only good things I ha e to say are: The heat worked. The refrigerator worked. I have stayed in cheaper hotels that are in much better condition.

Roaches Roaches Roaches.. mold .. tv inop. Changed rooms 3 times .. weed smell. Car alarms .. advertised breakfast and no breakfast

I've slept in cleaner barns than this dump!! Super musty smell as soon as you walk in... Cigarette burns in ALL of the bedding.... saw two roaches and one mouse in the room... place has dried paint all over the floor from the last time it was "re-done." Mini-fridge is 15 years old and had literal flies in it when I opened it. The shower controls were stripped out and wouldn't shut off without the assistance of maintanance. No TV remote in site. Door has a 1/4" gap in it that allows light, air, bugs through. Parking lot is WAYYYYY too bright after midnight. All of the lights are on a motion detector that only stays on for like 45 seconds at best. Stay farrrrrrr away from this dump.... UPDATE, Night #2 : Would have loved o have gotten a heads up that in the very next room, a crew was going to be coming in ay 7:00AM to strip the entire room out. Nothing but noise, all day. When I went to the front desk to complain about it, he smiled and said nothing he could do. I also brought up the mice and roaches to which he quickly responded, "Keep the lights on, roaches don't like light!" Never, EVER again..

The bed sheet was totally dirty, it's unacceptable, they didn't change the bedding

The room stunk. We could tell it wasn’t very clean but we thought it would be ok for just one night. A couple of hours in I opened the microwave and there layer a ham sandwich that was not ours. If the didn’t check and clean the microwave I’m pretty sure they didn’t bother to change the sheets. We grabbed our things and fled that nasty room. I didn’t ask to speak to anyone we just grabbed our stuff and got out of there. You can have an older establishment and still clean it so there is no for how dirty that room was.

At check-in you start feeling unsafe. No lobby protected window to process payment and agreement. Room door doesn’t close properly. Hair in bath drain dirty sink. Room needs maintenance not clean

Room 125 has bed bugs. I have so many bites

Roaches in the room, dirt all over the floor, microwave barely worked, half the channels on the tv didn’t work or were barely watchable. Tried to make me initial a box about a $250 fee if caught smoking in the room and I paid 2 nights for a smoking room. I refused to sign it. No Do Not Disturb signs so I made my own which they took down while I was gone to work. FURIOUS WITH THIS PLACE.

I am not one to write bad reviews simply because of a minor issue; however, this hotel was not was pictured in the photos. There are photos posted that aren’t even the same property. There were bugs in our room crawling on the floor. There was dirt/grime caked up in the tiles. Our room wreaked of cigarettes when it was non-smoking. Plus the burn holes in the sheets and furniture. There were people smoking marijuana outside. There was a very eery feeling when walking outside, I did not feel safe. I checked out and left before i could even process everything.

The door was broken so someone had to come fix it for us to get into our room. There was a clear puke stain on one of the beds, the walls were dirty, and one of the pillows had a red stain. Shouldn’t have expected more from a $65 hotel.

This property is a DUMP,......a lot of locals live here,......bathroom was dirty,...bed coverings was dirty,..large gaps around the door, floor was half ass sweept,.. and only 8 direct TV channels to view.

Although it was clean, the renovation work was sloppy, for example, the caulking around the sinks and showers is messed up and not complete. The bed was only OK. There were only three pillows. The neighborhood is loud and I didn’t feel very safe.

Aweful! My room was outdated with cigarette burns in the blanket in a non-smoking room. The toilet was leaking and maintenance was supposed to come before we checked in but 3 hours after we returned, the water was still on the floor! All of the reviews posted previously had to be by the workers because if you really had a stay at this place it is not what the pictures look like on the website and there is no breakfast because you can’t come inside the front only from the night key side. If there were other rooms available, I would have NEVER stayed!

when i check in, they were very short not that nice didn’t give me any directions or tell me anything except that the power was going to be out. we left. it was in a unsafe area. the bed was nice but it would get freezing to hot really quickly. there was paint and tape around the bathroom. the toilet wasn’t working in the beginning. honestly i tried my best not to be there just to sleep there. smelled like smoke in a non smoke room

A nice pace to stay & staff was welcoming

I wasn't allowed to check in the room I booked although I've already paid for it, and I did show up before the check in date of the next day, which I had already booked too. I was told by that owner guy, behind the window, to wait outside for 7 hours so I could check in (making me miss the 1st night of the 2 I booked)

Arrived at 4 PM and my room was not ready, and they would not give me a key because their system was down. Made me wait 30 minutes standing in parking lot.

Check in was very slow. The lobby is not open and you have to stand in a very small, very hot little room to use the night window. There were 3 people in front of us to check in but it took nearly half an hour because the desk person was so slow. After check in, things were okay. Room was good for the price.

It was absolutely horrible from the very beginning first of all manager told me they didn't accept reservations and made me pay cash on site! Even though I showed him the receipt and intuentary! I have pictures of how nasty it was I had to leave after only 2 hours and double paying this is absolutely unacceptable I even wasted my 15$ credit on this deplorable room manager was very rude

Staff was very rude and Room had roaches and dog food under the bed

No reception for visitors to wait and front desk very hostile to clients especially me. No restroom for visitors waiting to check inn. I regret booking that hotel A total nuisance

This is a place where people stay up all night, walking outside, drinking and smoking.

My first day there I was greeted with a swarm of police around the hotel searching for some one with k9dogs. There was a lot of unnecessary traffic with different people on the lot which made me and my family uncomfortable. The cleaning in this hotel needs to be reevaluated. We had a big water bug in our room as well as gross drain gnats. I’m kind of disappointed seeing the other property owned by the same owner is in much better shape. I hope you all can fix this because I would hate to see this establishment get shut down. Or ran down

The room was cozy and well-maintained, and the amenities provided exceeded my expectations. The staff was courteous and went out of their way to ensure I had a pleasant stay. More and more surprises every stay in the USA. For $80 plus tax with no breakfast I would expect at least some decent room. But the room, hotel, reception area etc are just disgusting.
