Nice and clean apartment with elevator, onsite parking and in room washer/dryer!

great walkable area, nice clean apartment loved our stay.. smart lock was easy to use and parking was super convenient

Highly recommend the hotel for any layover at Akureyri .. the studio apartment was quite big and had all amenities. Having a washer/dryer in the hotel was also convenient. Parking and checkin was a breeze.

K16 Apartments is located in the Akureyri city centre, at less than 5 minutes walking distance fron numerous restaurants and bars, and only another couple of minutes more from the harbour. As such, it is in great location for exploring Akureyri. Access by car is very convenient, just off one of the main roads. Checkin process was smooth, using a key code we had been emailed earlier. The room was located on the ground floor, facing the street. It was (sort of) open-plan, with bedroom and living room connected by a wall on which hangs a smart TV. The room was bright and airy, with windows alongside 2 walls of the property. The kitchenette was well equipped for a short family stay. During our stay we also used the laundry room, which is equipped with an industrial washer and a separate dryer. As for the downsides, as it is right by a main road, it can get a bit noisy at times. It appears the owners are also aware of it as we found earplugs in the flat, which we thought was a nice touch. This said, none of us needed them and we were able to sleep well. There are several parking spots that belong to this property, but it can get busy at times. There's also a public car park just across the road, although we didn’t need to use it. The closest grocery store is at about 15 minutes walking distance. Overall, we found K16 Apartments a convenient location for exploring Akureyri and the North of Iceland and would gladly stay there again.

We began our journey around Iceland with a winter Ring Road itinerary. Due to the long driving distances during winter, our original reservation was for December 11. However, thanks to the hotel’s kind flexibility and consideration, we were able to adjust our stay to December 10, which helped our travel plans greatly. The hotel exceeded our expectations. It was very clean, well maintained, and the facilities were excellent. As this was a mid-point stop along the Ring Road, it was especially convenient to use the guest laundry room with both a washing machine and a dryer, allowing us to finally catch up on our laundry. There is also a beautiful church right in front of the hotel, which was a nice and relaxing place to visit. Everything about this hotel was comfortable and well thought out, with absolutely nothing to complain about. We truly enjoyed our stay and would happily choose this hotel again if we return to Akureyri. Highly recommended.

Parking is extremely difficult. We had to park across the street. Our shower backed up so quickly; I was only able to stand under the water for 60 seconds before the entire floor of the bathroom was flooded. We should have known noise at night was going to be an issue as there were ear plugs next to the bed. The room was also very stuffy and hot (even though it was not hot outside). Even opening the very tiny windows did nothing to help. Definitely would not recommend this property.

This place has an ideal location with access to the main areas of the city. I wish I spent more time here as it was very convenient and a great place to visit. The apartment entry was very easy with the email provided, and I appreciated the ease of use. This is probably the best spot for laundry that we encountered in our entire trip to iceland, as there was no charge, and to my surprise even tide pods left out for use. Incredibly useful stop for a long road trip. You are near the city center, so you will hear people outside depending on room. I didn't mind it much. Highly recommend.

Good location, nice apartment and competitively priced. Nice to have more than just a bed in a room. Very roomy and comfortable. No breakfast but they have a washer and dryer and it’s free of charge! Great to do laundry mud way through our trip.

I cannot fault our apartment. It was clean, well equipped and in a very convenient central location. We didn't use the cooking facilities as there are several restaurants close by (including the excellent Rub23 just down the road), but everything we might have needed seemed to be there. They even provided two extra chairs, which allowed us to have breakfast together with our friends who were in another apartment. Note that although it is not mentioned on their website, the block has laundry facilities for the use of guests.

Great location and from the balcony, we could see across to the beautiful church and thrn downwards to the sea and mountains beyond. It was so close to the high street, cafes and restaurants yet so peaceful. Checking in and out so easy.

Was great. Only bad thing is shower drain clogged and flooded the bathroom. Other than that it was perfect.

Everything was exceptionally clean and well‑maintained, making it easy to feel at home right away. The location is fantastic, just a short walk to restaurants, shops and everything you might need during your stay. Super convenient and comfortable. I’d definitely stay here again!

Check-In tipptopp, genauso wie das Bett und Dusche/Badezimmer. Küche gut ausgerüstet. Was nur die "Okay"-Bewertung gibt: - kein Fenster zu öffnen - wir sahen vom schmutzigen (Bett-)Sofa auf die Füsse der Passanten. Das Fenster war klein und dadurch war es im Appartement sehr dunkel. Entgegen der Beschreibung gab es keinen Geschirrspüler, nur ein Profigerät auf dem Flur. Wer will aber das schmutige Geschirr dorthin tragen? Zudem war das Sofa nicht sehr einladend zum sich drauf setzen, da die Bezüge sehr schmuddelig wirken. Auch eine Schublade unter dem Backofen und der Backofen waren schmutzig. Kühlschrank und Geschirr aber neuwertig und sauber.

Spacious apartment for 2 with access to communal laundry n dryer. Ventilation was average as the unit still carries the cooking smell from the previous tenant and so is the fridge has the fermented food smell. WiFi not great as the TV cant stream YouTube without buffering. Location is good though

Spacious room. Great facilities. Nearby parking. We were impressed with the comfort and size of the apartment. There is on site parking and overspill just over the road Walk into the town centre is about 2 mins and a 10 min drive to the airport

Room would have been very nice if it hadn’t been trying to cook me. We had all heat off but it was still way too hot and none of the windows opened. We resorted to propping the door to the hall open to cool the room a little but we weren’t comfortable leaving the door open overnight so we didn’t get much sleep.

The size of unit is kind of small

Schöne, modern eingerichtete Unterkunft für einen Zwischenstopp in Akureyri. Sehr zentrale und dennoch ruhige Lage. Die Fenster lassen sich nicht öffnen (die Lüftung ist ok, aber Frischluft wäre wünschenswert) und das Schlafsofa war sehr unbequem. Die Küche war gut ausgestattet, aber der Kochtopf war für drei Personen sehr klein.

Everything went smoothly. Parking spots on the property. Entry was straight forward with the code, which was received well in advance. Very clean and bright apartment with generous space for three. Washer and dryer in unit which was very welcome. Big tv with very good Wifi. Very nice heated outdoor pool nearby where my son got to slide and play for hours in winter temps. View of the church on the hill.

Our stay at K16 was perfect! Great apartment with tv (included Netflix), nice kitchen, very comfortable bed and laundry. Amazing location and adorable town. We would stay there again.

Apartment was perfectly situated in the cute seaside town. Very walkable to delicious cafés and restaurants. Very spacious one bedroom unit. Laundry in unit was really convenient. Little balcony gave some far off view of the water. Highly recommend.

Very easy to use communal laundry facility and kitchen reasonably equipped. Staff was very responsive, kind and helpful with keeping bags early etc. Provided extra sheet since duvets make me too hot Clean & well kept place.

Communication was amazing, they couldn’t do enough to make our stay comfortable - responding quickly to any queries. Would definitely stay again if we are in Akureyri.

I fell ill during our stay & the owners of K16 were exceptionally helpful. I was having a hard time figuring out where to go and how to get help. Margaret navigated me through that process & drove me to a health clinic. I’m very grateful for her kindness. That aside, the apartments are clean, well appointed, comfortable, centrally located with ample free parking and in a very safe area. There is free laundry service & the owners are very responsive to guests. I highly recommend K16 Apartments!

Location is great. Can walk everywhere. Fell in love with Akureyri. The host is so friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.

We had some mixup checking in. Didn’t receive instructions for passcode to enter the property. Had some trouble to get that. Apart from that everything else was perfect. We had great rest of the stay.

We really liked our stay here and the location and easy parking. Very clean and nice room, bed, bath, etc. The only thing we found a little challenging was the communication. In the end, had we been simply told that the needed info and that the door code would be sent a couple hours prior to check-in, it would've been perfectly smooth. Instead, on expedia we got a seemingly stern message instructing us that it was our responsibility to obtain the check in info by messaging the host I think it was 2 days ahead of time. When we tried that, many hours later we got a very brief message back saying that we would get the info later. Which we indeed did, but we just found that a little stressful and awkward, and easily avoidable.

Was very clean and close to everything. Had a good meal and was able to wash clothes before we ran out.

It was walking distance to attractions, shopping,cafes.

When we arrived there were no parking spots left. But the biggest problem is the street. We were there at a saturday night and it seemed that there are people doing races on this street with there cars. It was so loud. Can't recommend it even though the apartment itself is wonderful.

The flat was in an excellent location :) Just in the heart of the downtown, next to the cathedral and close to shops and restaurants. The flat is cozy and comfortable, has all the equipment for cooking, with microwave and oven. The beds were comfortable, and there is laundry machine in the toilet :) The communication was effective and they answered very quickly when we needed something. Easy chevk-in with codes, no need to carry keys. I will come back :)

Location, comfort and value! This apt was well-managed and furnishings were in great condition. The location is perfect for walking to sites, restaurants and bars. The only downside was that the floors were swept, but had dirt spots and needed to be washed. The dirt showed on the bottoms of our socks. Everything else was clean.
