Plenty of parking lot. Very nice female staff member who spoke some English and provided a Yukata for our 6 year old. Large, excellent room with amazing views. Value for money. Green tea provided. Had mostly private onsen experience ie hardly anyone around for both the outdoor and indoor onsen when we visited in early April 2025. Only few minutes drive from Snow monkey carpark. Of the 9 places we stayed in Japan, was our favourite.
Plenty of parking lot. Very nice female staff member who spoke some English and provided a Yukata for our 6 year old. Large, excellent room with amazing views. Value for money. Green tea provided. Had mostly private onsen experience ie hardly anyone around for both the outdoor and indoor onsen when we visited in early April 2025. Only few minutes drive from Snow monkey carpark. This place is charming with great authentic Japanese food options with half board. Not everything is new but it works as it should. The onsen is amazingly hot with mineral water from source. The is also a sauna and an outdoor hotpool. There is also a cafe on the ground level with burgers, fries, tacos and drinks if you do not want Japanese food. .

Rooms were clean, towels and japanese robes replaced each day. The onsens were clean, the outdoor one was usually empty, just for me. The gentleman at the reception was accommodating to us and gave us a few rides from the hotel to different locations (station, monkey park).

The room shows some age but it’s comfortable. The public onsen is very good with an indoor pool and an outdoor one for both men’s and women’s spas. We have the half board option with our room. They serve our dinners in a private room. The food was great and staff were friendly. Breakfast was served buffet style and has a good variety of food. They also offer rides to Snow Monkey park and the train station. Would stay there again if I visit there again.

The hotel is nice with a decent traditional breakfast spread and beautiful onsen, but the actual hotel is outside the shibu onsen city so it is impossible to go into any of the 9 hot springs except 1. We had to find another room at a hotel nearby to get the key for the onsen.

I was later than their last check in and they accommodated me and even made a multi course traditional Japanese meal at 9pm, the food for breakfast and dinner was delicious. The onsen was extremely hot and had an absolutely gorgeous view. The older couple that runs it were incredibly kind and hospitable to me, including a shuttle to the Monkeg Park and Yamanaka Station free of charge. The WiFi was good enough for a Microsoft teams call with zero lag whatsoever. I had a wonderful stay here and if I am back in the area I will stay again.

Stayed 2 nights to rest and recover before going to Tokyo. The hotel was a short walk from the station with idyllic scenery with beautiful Sakura and mountains. The personelle were super nice and helpful. They provided a free bus ride to the snow monkey park. The room was spacious and comfy. The hotel dinner and breakfast were amazing. Highly recommend the dinner. The onsen was really hot which took some time getting used to but I think that’s part of the experience. Only real downside were the hard pillows which seem to be a theme in Japan. Overall really enjoyable stay and we highly recommend going here.

Incredible service and an absolutely amazing hotel. The staff were amazingly attentive and helpful, provided transport for us to see the monkey park and get us back to town in time for our train back. The evening meal was absolutely incredible and such a lovely experience, and the Onsen was outstanding. We loved our stay and would definitely stay again with absolutely no hesitation.

Um hotel bem charmoso e familiar em estilo japonês, com vista excelente O atendimento é excelente e os funcionários muito simpáticos. Há possibilidade de transfer desde a estação e para o Parque dos Macacos da Neve de Jigokudani. Além disso, o hotel oferece uma boa lanchonete. O quarto em que ficamos era amplo, com colchões confortáveis e muito limpo. Se retornarmos à região, certamente nos hospedaríamos novamente.

車で行ったが場所もわかりやすく全体的に古いが清潔感あり静かであった。あえて言うと、暑い日だったが到着時に、部屋の冷房スイッチが入れてなく、蒸し風呂状態。スタッフが「弱にしておきますね」と言ってスイッチ入れてくれたが、こちらは、汗だく情態であることを察してほしかった。

It's an older property but very clean and well-maintained. All the staff are friendly and food was great. The onsen was the hottest one we had during this trip to the Nagano area (3 different hotels). Our room faces the river so if you open the window, you can hear the river and mini waterfall. We saw the most amazing sunset at the bridge right in front of the hotel. Hotel is also conveniently located within 15 minutes from the Snow Monkey park, which makes it easy for us to beat the tours by arriving early.

バスルームあるけどボディソープさえない。ドライヤーもない、何もない…おまけにシャワーの水量がまるで醤油差しくらいに少ない。冷蔵庫は旧式の自動精算タイプなので私的のものは何も入れられない…と部屋の中だけ時間が昭和で止まっているようでした。

We really enjoyed our stay here. The room was huge with a lovely view towards the mountains. The staff were really helpful and picked us up and dropped us off at Yudanaka station. Breakfast is VERY traditional Japanese, so was a very authentic experience. We walked to the monkey park and back, which took around 1 hour each way. Well worth the visit as the monkeys were amazing. The walk will take you via Shibu Onsen village, which was like going back in time. The walk into Yudanaka was 10 mins, where there were around 10 restaurants.
We really enjoyed our stay here. The room was huge with a lovely view towards the mountains. The staff were really helpful and picked us up and dropped us off at Yudanaka station. Breakfast is VERY traditional Japanese, so was a very authentic experience. We walked to the monkey park and back, which took around 1 hour each way. Well worth the visit as the monkeys were amazing. The walk will take you via Shibu Onsen village, which was like going back in time. The walk into Yudanaka was 10 mins, where there were around 10 restaurants.

They made us feel just like at home here. The staffs are so friendly and accommodating. The location is a bit inconvenient since we are traveling with my 76 y/o mother, it is about 20min walk to town. However, the staff offered to drive us to town to pickup dinner in a snowy night. I would stay here again.

The staff were so friendly and helpful. They make you feel like you’re the only guest there. So sweet and friendly. Highly recommend. They also serve a fantastic dinner.

The service and amenities were amazing. I was met at the station with a free shuttle to the Ryokan and the staff at the desk were very friendly and could provide service in both English and Japanese. The dinner and breakfast was phenomenal and the view out my window was breathtaking! Staying here allowed me to partake in some must-do things in Japan such as wearing Yukata and using the Onsen. The service and amenities were amazing. I was met at the station with a free shuttle to the Ryokan and the staff at the desk were very friendly and could provide service in both English and Japanese. The dinner and breakfast was phenomenal and the view out my window was breathtaking! Staying here allowed me to partake in some must-do things in Japan such as wearing Yukata and using the Onsen. I’m so happy I chose this place and got to experience everything for such a reasonable price! A huge thanks to the staff for everything :)

Hotel staff was friendly and went out of their way to help our group. We arrived late so could not visit the snow monkey park and we had to leave in morning to catch train back to Nagano. They planned an itinerary for us so we could see the snow monkeys and still get to train station on time. They even drove us to park, picked us up and dropped us off at station! Great service The dinner was exceptional with fish caught on that day. Breakfast was also very good. I highly recommend this hotel and will go back to this hotel the next time I visit Nagano.

Incredible service and an absolutely amazing hotel. The staff were amazingly attentive and helpful, provided transport for us to see the monkey park and get us back to town in time for our train back. The evening meal was absolutely incredible and such a lovely experience, and the Onsen was outstanding. We loved our stay and would definitely stay again with absolutely no hesitation.

Plenty of parking lot. Very nice female staff member who spoke some English and provided a Yukata for our 6 year old. Large, excellent room with amazing views. Value for money. Green tea provided. Had mostly private onsen experience ie hardly anyone around for both the outdoor and indoor onsen when we visited in early April 2025. Only few minutes drive from Snow monkey carpark. Of the 9 places we stayed in Japan, was our favourite.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The room was huge with a lovely view towards the mountains. The staff were really helpful and picked us up and dropped us off at Yudanaka station. Breakfast is VERY traditional Japanese, so was a very authentic experience. We walked to the monkey park and back, which took around 1 hour each way. Well worth the visit as the monkeys were amazing. The walk will take you via Shibu Onsen village, which was like going back in time. The walk into Yudanaka was 10 mins, where there were around 10 restaurants.

I was later than their last check in and they accommodated me and even made a multi course traditional Japanese meal at 9pm, the food for breakfast and dinner was delicious. The onsen was extremely hot and had an absolutely gorgeous view. The older couple that runs it were incredibly kind and hospitable to me, including a shuttle to the Monkeg Park and Yamanaka Station free of charge. The WiFi was good enough for a Microsoft teams call with zero lag whatsoever. I had a wonderful stay here and if I am back in the area I will stay again.

They made us feel just like at home here. The staffs are so friendly and accommodating. The location is a bit inconvenient since we are traveling with my 76 y/o mother, it is about 20min walk to town. However, the staff offered to drive us to town to pickup dinner in a snowy night. I would stay here again.

Stayed 2 nights to rest and recover before going to Tokyo. The hotel was a short walk from the station with idyllic scenery with beautiful Sakura and mountains. The personelle were super nice and helpful. They provided a free bus ride to the snow monkey park. The room was spacious and comfy. The hotel dinner and breakfast were amazing. Highly recommend the dinner. The onsen was really hot which took some time getting used to but I think that’s part of the experience. Only real downside were the hard pillows which seem to be a theme in Japan. Overall really enjoyable stay and we highly recommend going here.

Hotel is also conveniently located within 15 minutes from the Snow Monkey park, which makes it easy for us to beat the tours by arriving early.

This place is charming with great authentic Japanese food options with half board. Not everything is new but it works as it should. The onsen is amazingly hot with mineral water from source. The is also a sauna and an outdoor hotpool. There is also a cafe on the ground level with burgers, fries, tacos and drinks if you do not want Japanese food. .

The room shows some age but it’s comfortable. The public onsen is very good with an indoor pool and an outdoor one for both men’s and women’s spas. We have the half board option with our room. Mysigt traditionellt rum med fantastisk utsikt! Trevlig och mycket hjälpsam personal som körde oss till snow money park och till tågstationen. Den traditionella middagen var en upplevelse och det fanns ett bra onsen på hotellet.

This place was the most amazing, warm, friendly, and loving hotel I’ve ever had the privilege of staying. The entire hotel is run by a phenomenal family—so incredibly kind, loving, and welcoming. We were greeted warmly upon our arrival and they showed us a map of the town, asked how they could help, and made great suggestions for dinner. The gentleman drove my family and I to the Snow Monkey Park and drove us to the train station the next morning. We had the most delicious cheeseburgers that we have ever had in our whole lives at the restaurant downstairs and enjoyed time in the recreation room playing pool, chess, and other fun games. The onsens on the property were very clean, hot, and relaxing. I got to experience the open air and enclosed onsen during my stay and both were so peaceful. When we left, the whole family came outside to wave goodbye to us and bow. It was truly the most amazing and authentic Japanese hotel throughout our 1-month of travel across this amazing country! I would recommend this place to every soul on planet earth :)
