What guests think

AI-generated summary based on recent guest reviews

At Marena Resort, guests praise the beachfront location, expansive views, and generally friendly staff, but reviews repeatedly note disruptive next door construction, a small and crowded pool that closes early, and mandatory valet parking and resort fees that add cost.

Was so disappointed, the staff shuts the ringer off at the front desk so they don’t have to deal with complaints, then when you call them on it their rude, the room was not what we expected, the roof top was the absolute worst of it all, the paint on the floor was scraping off in huge pieces with just your shoe going across it, they haven’t done any upkeep maintenance to that rooftop in many years and it shows, the maintenance and housekeeping isn’t fixing anything that needs to be done, it doesn’t make sense to pay for maintenance men if their not actually fixing anything, would never ever make that mistake again.

Stayed 1 night

I was excited to take my partner here after a month of planning our getaway. I chose a suite with a balcony and while I was given the room that I paid for, the room was in disrepair. The lights in the bedroom didn't work so the staff rigged up a garage/shed light with a clamp to the top of the bed, the wire hanging down along the side with worn out electrical tape that used to keep it out of the way of the pillow, at least. The pools no bigger than a household pool, with no room to walk around and full of kids (contrary to the "great for couples" disclaimer). We were given no information about the restaurant on site or breakfast in the morning, so we ended up walking to Publix down the road and cooked in our room. When arriving, I asked for an upgrade per my VIP Hotels.com status and I was told there were "absolutely none" available. I was then told that we would be given "one of the best suites" and were promptly placed next to the elevator bank on the back of the building, which we heard all night long. The couch was so old and disheveled that we didn't even sit on it once, and the balcony had food wrappers on it. The kitchen had what we needed to cook and eat, but the counter was dusty and we ended up washing everything before we used it. The hotel rooms are also apparently for sale or long term rent so that was another issue with people just living there and not being courteous with sound or balcony time. All in all, I wish I would have stayed elsewhere.
