Loved the decor and value. Helpful and friendly staff. This was our second stay. We were disappointed that for our 3 nights we were unable to go to rooftop bar. Closed 2 night?? And private event the other.

Very upscale while staying true to its minimalist idea. Best in class customer service from the front desk concierge to the bartender. Bed was not that comfortable, could have gone with a better manufacturer like Winkbed, Leesa, or Saatva. Parking needs to be better explained at check-in with regards to discount ticket - how to use, daily returns to garage, etc. Suggest a handout be created with clear instructions.

The property was in a great part of Washington..Only a short 5 minute walk to the Foggy Bottom Metro , from where you could go anywhere in the city very cheaply. Just $2 to reach the Capitol Building , White House and all the museums and memorials... Only $6 to go from there to Dulles Airport. You can walk to the Lincoln Memorial in 10-15 mins and then it is a short walk from there to the other monuments. The staff were friendly and helpful and it has a great rooftop bar. They also do pizzas on site and a small selection of waffles and breakfast buns for breakfast. The only issue i have is that there are no tea/coffee making facilities in the room , although they do have it in the downstairs bar in the morning until 10.30 which is free.

Clean room. Spacious enough given it was a micro hotel. Amazing staff and customer service. Stayed at Hotel Hive for the DC Half Marathon - 15-20 minute walk to the starting line. Amazing Manor Hill beer on tap. Fantastic rooftop bar and pizza. No complaints.

The hotel was very hip and yet affordable. The rooms were tiny though and AC didn’t function very well. Extremely convenient to GWU and rooftop bar was excellent!

This was a great hotel! It was very clean and was definitely new but didn’t have the “hospital new clean” feel to it. It felt very homey. The pizza place was beyond good. We had late night pizza and dessert multiple times. The rooftop bar had great vibes and great drinks. The front desk staff was always friendly when we arrived and left the hotel. I would definitely stay here next time I’m in DC. It is also close to the metro and the parking deck!

This hotel has amazing service. It has a super happy vibe. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. The hotel is very clean. The Hive bar and the roof top bar were also an added plus. I honestly have never been as happy at a chain hotel as I was here. The location is on George Washington University Campus. Close to all the history sites in DC. Vibrant, a very added delight to our trip.

The bed was very comfortable—however, there was a very mildew-y smell in the whole room that detracted from the experience. At first I thought it was because I was on the lower floor but I didn’t notice it in the hallway, just in my room. Also, I didn’t mind the room and bathroom being small but there was no way to shower with the bathroom door open, which made that room stay a little damp.

The staff here were very friendly and helpful. The bed has some black dirt from AC repairs, but the bedding was replaced upon our request. The elevator is incredibly small and the halls are very narrow. This is a microtel and although it was incredibly cute, it was super inconvenient for my fiance and I. Plus, we were on the wrong side of town for our stay. The hotel did refund us for the nights we opted not to stay. The front desk staff was very quick to help us resolve our issues.

Hotel Hive was a great experience! The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the property itself was clean; overall the ambiance was nice. Location was great and walkable to the metro alongside local shops. It was also a very safe area with friendly people, and again walkable to everything we needed like touristy areas! Would highly recommend as a place to stay if you’re looking for convenient, safe, and walkable area that’s close to almost everything!

Great warm welcome from the reception staff upon arrival. Hotel is well located and parking is just across the street with a discount. Room was small but sufficient, only problem is we had some issues with bugs in the room (from my experience it's the ones in the drains). We came back into the room and they were on the bed and I'm our luggage (just one each time).

My daughter and I chose the Hive for a brief stay. I saw the room advertised as simple and clean. That was all we needed for our one night. I did not understand that the Hive has rooms that are quiet and rooms that are closer to the bar and restaurant, making them not quiet. We had unfortunately chosen a room that was “lively”. We were first placed in a "buzz" room which is a code name to a basement room. After complaining we were moved to a second floor room. The room was very tiny. Not much bigger than a queen size bed. There was no place for the luggage and the only storage room was under the bed. It was so small that they had to place the sink inside the room under the TV.

Didn't realize it was a "micro hotel" so the tiny room was a bit of a surprise, but I didn't plan to spend much time in it anyway. Great location next to GWU and easy access to national mall. Very friendly and helpful staff, especially at the front desk.

Micro hotel so even though I had a king room there wasn't much space. No closet, storage space, or shelves/counters in the bathroom. Clean, cute hotel tho and I believe Expedia shows this property as having a pool but that's not true.

Amazing! The staff went above and beyond. I have never stayed in a micro hotel before but I will be back. At first I thought it might be small, but who spends all their time on vacation in their room? Perfect space. Super clean. great bed. A huge thank you to Front desk help: Roberto, Brooke, and James, for answering all my questions and guiding me to great restaurants. They all took their time to ask how you were doing, what your plans were, etc. Thank you to Shawnee, head of housekeeping, for helping me to my room and showing how to use the the remote shades, and also just greeting me each day with a huge smile and taking a minute to chat. Lastly, thank you to Ricardo (Rich or Richard), for bringing me countless buckets of ice and a refrigerator. Always smiling. The Hive has great staff! I also had the best room, 401, with SIX windows!

Clean room. Spacious enough given it was a micro hotel. Amazing staff and customer service. Stayed at Hotel Hive for the DC Half Marathon - 15-20 minute walk to the starting line. Amazing Manor Hill beer on tap. Fantastic rooftop bar and pizza. No complaints.

The staff was so welcoming and kind, quick to offer upgrades and great advice about the neighborhood. Super convenient to the Metro and GW. The room was adorable and immaculate. This will be my go to hotel in DC for all future stays.

We enjoyed our stay last weekend at the Hive. It is a unique building in an excellent location.The staff at the front desk were extremely helpful and patient. We had several questions and the staff took the time to answer them. Special shout out to Rhea for help assisting us with our gps on our I-phone. Highly reccommend this hotel for it's location to the Mall,and Monuments and Georgetown.

Hotel Hive was a great experience! The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the property itself was clean; overall the ambiance was nice. Location was great and walkable to the metro alongside local shops. It was also a very safe area with friendly people, and again walkable to everything we needed like touristy areas! Would highly recommend as a place to stay if you’re looking for convenient, safe, and walkable area that’s close to almost everything!

This hotel has amazing service. It has a super happy vibe. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. The hotel is very clean. The Hive bar and the roof top bar were also an added plus. I honestly have never been as happy at a chain hotel as I was here. The location is on George Washington University Campus. Close to all the history sites in DC. Vibrant, a very added delight to our trip.

The Hive is conveniently located in DC. The breakfast, pizza and beer offerings are great and the roof top bar is a relaxing setting. My complaint comes from our arriving at 4 pm, when check could be at 3 pm, but our room was not ready until after 5 pm. The staff was very apologetic but that was very inconvenient.

Easy access from Foggy Bottom metro. Lots of dining options within walking distance. Also easy walks to Kennedy Center and Lincoln Memorial. Didn’t get a chance to try the rooftop bar, but will next time. Rooms were nice, with European duvets instead of traditional sheet sets.

Excellent hotel for the price. Clean, modern and really friendly and accommodating staff. Can’t ask for a better location - right in the heart of DC (basically In the GWU campus), walkable to the national mall and to the subway station.

We’ve stayed at the Hotel Hive many times when our son was in college and then lived in the DC area. This is our favorite hotel in the entire Washington DC because it seems safe and it’s so easy to walk or use lime bikes, etc., and Uber easily picks you up as well. It’s a short distance from Reagan international The staff is friendly and giving I love their flatbed bread pizzas and I love their amazing rooftop bar..

The parking discount is not a real discount. I was able to find closer parking at the same rate without the discount. It's a great location and price. My second time staying there and it's always been great. The breakfast sandwich and complimentary coffee is top notch.

Room was cute and clean. Shower was very good. Staff was friendly and helpful. Excellent location. Breakfast was not very good- recommend skipping the breakfast. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay.

While I really like the Hive, MAN do they need to work on the "breakfast" service. I understand having a limited menu (4 items) but when you are out of half of them that is crazy poor planning.

Very nice hotel with lovely details. Environment was quiet (Queen Size room), just the walls and ceilings are bright to the other rooms. Breakfast really expensive for the small portions. Coffee was close to water. Inhouse Pizza very good for a reasonable price. Walking distance to Lincoln Memorial about 20 min, so very good. We lik the hotel and can recommend it.

Loved everything about this hotel! Convenient location close to major attractions of the city. The staff are extremely courteous and friendly. The room is small but clean and efficient. The restaurant has a simple menu but everything was delicious! I’d love to come back here for my future visits.

The Hive is a really neat spot. Rooms are comfortable and the front desk staff are great. My only hang up was the bar closed too early and they only offer pizza because they have a contract with a local restaurant.

I would recommend this hotel 10/10. I loved its proximity to the Metro. There are several restaurants and stores also within walking distance. The customer service is outstanding. The property is clean, minimalistic, welcoming, and stylish. The room (Queen Loft) is gorgeous. It has a unique layout; the bed is surrounded by windows. It feels like a castle turret. There are high ceilings, exposed beams, and ambient lighting. It was perfect for a solo stay visiting friends.

First night after I'd gone to sleep my daughter wakes me up screaming "it's a mouse in our room, it's a mouse!" I was suddenly very awake! She ran down to tell the night staff about the situation while I had to dress myself and go outside in the corridor. She comes up to me and tells me that the night staff answered her "Oh man! Not again!" They told her that they would send someone up to our floor (3rd floor) to handle the mouse situation. We waited outside our room för five to ten minutes and then a guy with a broom comes up and tells us to move because the mouse is running in the direction we're standing. We do as we're told, he is lying on the floor with the broom in front of him and tries to get the mouse out from under the bed, and after a while the mouse runs out into the corridor and down another corridor and it was NOT a nice experience at all. My daughter was shocked and neither of us slept at all that night. We asked the guy with the broom what to do and he just told us to put a wet towel in front of the door so that mice can't run under the door and into the rooms. That was all. No one offered a new room or compensation in any way. We were left with the wet towel and had to try and sleep with the lights on for our entire stay just hoping for the best. This really affected our whole experience in Washington DC.
