Stopped here to spend the night on the way to York. Fun popular pub with great food. Our cottage was lovely - clean and comfortable with a cute patio and gorgeous view out front. Perfect for our family of three.

Stayed there overnight on the day the snow hit Derbyshire Within a mile I got stranded so I called the hotel and they sent someone out to help me !! I am glad they did,The Peacock is great and the rooms beautifully furnished with amazing bathrooms.I enjoyed my meal and the bar had a super atmosphere and roaring fire. A special mention to all the staff who were excellent , smart.friendly and very efficient - I cannot fault the place and I will be back in the sunshine!! Thank you

Rooms are really lovely and the breakfast was superb. All the staff were very helpful. The evening menu was quite expensive compared to other meals in the area. The restaurant was very busy and quite noisy. We were not expecting such a ‘corporate’ feel to the restaurant even though the premises, I believe, are privately owned.

A real gem of a pub/ hotel in Barlow in the Peak District The room was amazing with lovely little touches as a welcome. The food was very good and breakfast kept us going all day!! Staff were very attentive and efficient Excellent value.

One of the nicest friendliest hotels I’ve ever stayed in. Owen the manager was extremely personable and was always very polite, friendly and helpful. The food dinner and breakfast was 1st class, the bar area was welcoming and clean and decor of a high standard. The bedroom was clean, classy, warm and inviting. The bed, duvet, pillows were comfortable. The bathroom was opulent and perfect. One of the nicest places I’ve ever stayed in. I will be back

We stayed for my "pre wedding" night for my daughter wedding. Fabulous place, spotlessly clean, beautifully designed, wonderful rooms. The staff are a credit to the hotel, couldn\'t have been more attentive. Would absolutely recommend. In fact i took my husband to show him 2 days later. Im sure it\'s going to be somewhere we will re-visit.

Excellent boutique style room, with very comfy bed, and large bathroom with a large walk in shower. All staff friendly and helpful. Meals - evening and breakfast were generous and tasty. Would stay again.

Extremely nice room we stayed in with lovely views. The service was fantastic and very friendly. The only thing to comment would be the sensor lights on the bottom of the bedside tables as they wouldn’t turn off in the night and had to cover them up!

Me and my Partner stayed in the fuggles room and it was perfect, Clean, spacious, the bathroom was lovely with a really big free standing bath and seperate shower! There were a few added extra touches too such as personalised note, scone on arrival etc! Would definitely reccomend a stay at this hotel, staff were friendly, attentive and professional also

Stayed for one night on our way to visit friends. We had a lovely dinner in the restaurant and then a wonderful comfortable night's sleep before a fantastic breakfast in the morning. All the staff were friendly and attentive, and we particularly appreciated being shown how everything worked in the room such as the coffee machine and the Aircon. Would definitely stay here again if we were in the area!

Beautiful suite (Phoenix). Clearly recently refreshed. Lovely bed, views, bathroom & facilities. Friendly, accommodating staff. Portions in restaurant are large! (Too much for us!) and breakfast was 10/10.

Room’s compact but brilliantly designed and good use of mirrors . Exquisite interior design. Kettle , coffee maker, fridge, welcome letter and huge scone with clotted cream and jam! Bathroom was the piece de la resistance! Huge free standing bath with enormous separate walk in shower with the biggest waterfall shower head I’ve ever encountered! Underfloor heating, White Company toiletries. Breakfast large variety not a drip of grease anywhere. We stayed as we were attending a wedding at Dunston Hall. Would definitely stay again. All staff polite, welcoming and helpful.

Attention to detail in the whole facility was perfect. Everything was of the highest quality and all you could possibly need. All staff were polite and helped in anyway they could. The food and drinks were also perfect. I would give more than 5 stars if I could. Thanks to the peacock and all involved.

High class rooms with all mod cons inc robes and slippers. Staff extremely friendly and helpful nothing to much trouble, great food and well presented. Would highly recommend a stay over.

Had an overnight stay for business. Stayed in the phoenix room and wow, absolutely amazing. Everything about this place was 5 stars! Staff super friendly and helpful , location amazing and hotel/pub itself was fantastic! Value for money would easily be 11 out of 10. Can't wait to go back. Thankyou!

Birthday getaway. Cannot fault this place,the room was spotless and had all the extra accessories available for our stay.we also had dinner in the restaurant and this was lovely. Staff were so friendly.100 % recommended and lovely walks to do nearby as Barlow is lovely base to stay.

Excellent boutique style room, with very comfy bed, and large bathroom with a large walk in shower. All staff friendly and helpful. Meals - evening and breakfast were generous and tasty. Would stay again.

Stayed for one night on our way to visit friends. We had a lovely dinner in the restaurant and then a wonderful comfortable night's sleep before a fantastic breakfast in the morning. All the staff were friendly and attentive, and we particularly appreciated being shown how everything worked in the room such as the coffee machine and the Aircon. Would definitely stay here again if we were in the area!

Beautiful suite (Phoenix). Clearly recently refreshed. Lovely bed, views, bathroom & facilities. Friendly, accommodating staff. Portions in restaurant are large! (Too much for us!) and breakfast was 10/10.

Rooms are really lovely and the breakfast was superb. All the staff were very helpful. The evening menu was quite expensive compared to other meals in the area. The restaurant was very busy and quite noisy. We were not expecting such a ‘corporate’ feel to the restaurant even though the premises, I believe, are privately owned.

I will start with the positives the pub is in a nice little village with a great bakery/deli next door (hackney deli) the staff were friendly and helpful we stayed in the phoenix room which has a lovely view over the surrounding countryside the bathroom has quality porcelanosa fixtures and fittings the shower head is huge but is coming away from the wall due to the weight of it and the waste trap from the bathroom sink is also coming away from the wall the bathroom sink is badly stained and the ceramic is crazed around the plughole and really needs replacing in the bedroom there was dust in a lot of places the telephone hadn't been dusted in a while the top of the headboard was covered in dust and needs replacing as it is looking worn and the fabric colour is fading noticeably the floor at the foot of the bed is badly marked also with some large scratches highly visible we stayed here for 3 nights and on the first night we ate here (and the only night) my wife was very happy with her garden burger meal and salad but I had the fish pie which was very small and disappointing as there was hardly any fish in the pie mainly mashed potato,and the prawns were microscopic more like shrimps and it was certainly not good value for money at £21.95 this was the reason we didn't eat here again the breakfast on every morning was very tasty but the portion sizes were very small I always ask myself when i stay somewhere new like this would I come back again the answer here would be no

Warm friendly staff, superb room with great amenities. Absolutely wonderful place to stay. My only slight reservation is that the hotel isn’t manned during the night between midnight and 8am which was a little unnerving. However, everything else was really perfect and I would definitely recommend the Peacock to anyone.

We had a wonderful stay at The Peacock . It exceeded all our expectations and would definately choose to stay there again if we were in the area . The room we had was very clean & stylish , and so much better than staying in a chain hotel . Would highly recommend staying there .
