Anchor Bay Inn near Winchester Bay

Dirty, dirty, DIRTY! Bedding had not been washed from previous guests. Sheets and pillows literally had black dirt all over them. One pillow case had dried blood on it. Room looked lke it was hardly cleaned. Tub drain plugged and you would shower in dirty backed up water. Absolutely disgusting. Said it was newly renovated which our room was not. Said it had a pool which is was not in service, it was filled with garbage. Do not stay here. Worst experience

It says remodeled on the sign. But all the furniture was from the 70s and worn out. Carpet was very old as well. It is way outdated. Its to bad cause they also have a cute pool, but that as well was shut down and it was summer time. Sad

The check in process took over 1/2 hour even though we were the only ones there. Rooms have no ac and on a busy hwy so windows cannot be opened without too much noise. Dilapidated empty pool on the property. May be in the process of updating but I would choose someplace else

Perfect for a place to lay your head and rest. Friendly and accommodating staff. Pet friendly.

Management should spend a little money on new pillows from Wal-Mart. The pillows at this motel are flat bricks. And fix the ice machine.

Took us over an hour and a half to get checked in, and the front desk person was nice but clueless. He had to call the manager multiple times to get help over the phone. He had us on speaker, and she was nice to me; however, not very nice to the employee. It was awkward for all of us. Especially by this time, there were multiple people in the office trying to get checked in. Then they couldn't get our key card to work, so they told us to knock on his door, as he lives on the property, when we got back. When we got back, they had moved us rooms and stated that was the issue and why the key card wouldn't work. Luckily, we had not put our stuff in the original room, as they had already placed someone else in it. The room has no air conditioning, but it does come with a decent fan. But if you're staying on a hot day, expect to be hot and sweating. The bathroom was gross. It was dirty and needed a deep clean, with no water pressure. And the faucet was hanging off in the tub, and the shower head was clamped to the wall. The faucet in the sink was too big for the basin, so if you turned the water on high, the water would pour out onto the floor, so you had to keep it at a drizzle. The bed was small but soft. I had reserved a queen, and it seemed much smaller. The TV was too small for the room as well. The pool was also out of order - there was no water in the pool.

The staff was friendly and good customer service. The rooms were clean. Looking forward to are next stay after the renovations are completed. Need a ice machine.

Check in was a bit of a hassle. Parking lot and alleyway behind feel a little unsafe with so much traffic.

Run down, no AC or ice machine. All the fixtures need repairs. At least the shower had hot water and the bed was ok

Carpet had not been properly vacuumed, pet hair obvious. No mirror in the bathroom,

It was way too much money for the quality of the room. At least it was clean. But there was no light by bed. There wss no screen on window, so couldnt open. Altbough refurbished, toilet and sink had been upgraded. But shower had mold in and above. Only given 1 washcloth. Had to plug coffee in over by tv. No desk or table to sot at even though it was a kitchen unit. Just not what we were expecting for almost $200 a night

Clean and quick to check in

The room hadn't been cleaned - used cups on floor near bed and bathroom floor needed to be swept and mopped, the parking lot smells like an ashtray, the room smells like it used to be a smoking room. It says newly remodeled which I think they just changed the bathroom fixtures. The mattress was lumpy and uncomfortable. The staff seemed friendly, but uninterested in complaints. As I was checking out another customer was complaining about the lack of cleanliness in their room. Plus it wasn't that cheap the site says $66 but after tax and fees it was more like $95.

The property conditions not in good shape and cleanliness was not handled properly , I found dogs hair everywhere not he carpet , beds , tables ..Carpets are not cleaned , not vacuumed , bed sheets had stains etc. Staffs were friendly .

I left an hour after I arrived and stayed somewhere else. The sheets were stained, there were ants in the room and mold on the bathroom ceiling. The staff were very kind.

Floor was dirty, bathtub dirty with hair in it, sheets and bedding was dingy, coffee pot was not clean, light bulb was burnt out. I didn’t expect a lot for the price but I did expect a clean room.

We stayed 2 nights in a room that had clearly not been finished with "renovation". The shower was very dirty and had both long and short black hair inside the tub, on the edges, and shower curtain. Even the shower curtain was dirty. When I went to find someone to tell about it no one could be found. I had asked for this particular room because it was directly in front of the handicap space so it was more convenient for me to access the room. So I cleaned the shower myself. When I started the faucet and pulled up on the lever to get spray the faucet fell out of the tub wall and there was hard spackle, or whatever, inside the drain. No air conditioning either. Fan only worked 1 of 2 nights. Too close to the highway so all traffic is clearly heard. Anytime we looked for someone, even to check out, no one could be found. Also, they overcharged by 1 day, said they would fix it, but had to report to card services. Nope. Would not stay there again. Oh, and there was no soap in the dispensers.

Disgusting. Broken water pipe behind shower. Mold & mildew dust and dirty sheets. Showered there but never slept there.

There is no AC whatsoever only a floor fan, it was hotter than hell!!

Key reader on door didn’t work, so I was given a master key. Room security???? There was hair in my shower, the overhead light was wired to a wall outlet and spliced with tape. Room was well over 80 degrees. Had to place a fan in the door to cool the room off. Just about the worst place I have stayed, I would pass on this place if you can.

We needed a place to sleep - in late, up early. The place needs a little TLC, but the bed was clean and comfortable, it was quiet and the water was hot with good pressure. For the price, we felt it was a good stay.

There was no air conditioning of any kind except a tiny broken dirty little fan. The front desk attendant was very kind and brought us a new fan but Our room was an oven. Absolutely miserably hot. Had to keep The windows and door open and even with that, the room remained at least 15 degrees hotter than outside. All of the occupied rooms had theirs doors and windows open with fans blowing so it wasn't just ours. Ovens for everyone yesterday!

The management was very responsive and kind. It’s a pet friendly motel, which was a requirement for my stay. Good restaurants and general store with in walking distance. The proximity to the highway makes for a loud environment, but overall, I appreciated the basics including the fridge and microwave.

Was good for the weekend stay. Brought our 2 dogs and had no issues with them being left in the room while we ventured out with the family. Very clean room, just a lumpy bed

I booked a room for this place through Expedia and when I arrived they not only didn’t have my booking nor a room available and we had to drive home. Customer service was absolutely horrendous, the guy could barely operate a phone or computer. When I needed a refund he couldn’t even do that. Not only did I not stay there but I still haven’t gotten refunded because he needed another staff to figure out the problem.

We've stayed here twice so far. The owners are very nice and helpful. We ordered food and didn't have any plates or silverware, but the owner supplied us with both and saved us a trip to the store. It's an older motel but the rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. Even though it's on a main road, it's surprisingly quiet. We will be staying here again.

could not find our reservation, would not assist us. We ended up cancelling through Hotels.com to get our money back and found another property to stay the night

Not worth even the low cost of the room. The front desk person really didn't know what he was doing and I had to listen to him argue with the manager over the phone - several times. There was no handsoap in the room, and the room was very hot.

Although it was a little run down, the room was very large, I had everything I needed and the price is excellent. I really loved meeting the owners as well. They were lovely and went out of their way to be helpful.

First room we got was labeled as a queen but was actually a double and would not work, was switched to a 2 queen beds room at no up charge. Super friendly staff

This was a disaster. I got the keys from front desk and walked to the second floor right by the stairs. I see the room door is open and a guy walks out of the room. One of the bed is messy the room is hot as hell and i dont know what the guy was doing in the room that was suppose to be ours. I informed the lady in the front desk. She came upstairs and she said oh there was a switch btw rooms and the lady down stairs was upstairs and she forgot to tidy up. I was like WTH is going on here. She came tried to clean the room and bathroom. She left the cleaning detergents In the bathroom my son was spraying it and i didnt notice. No parking provided they told me to park on the street which was a disaster also. Not hot water in the bathroom the tube doesnt hold any water thershower is falling a part. It said 6.6 in expedia but its more like 3. They charge a lot for this dump. I need my money back.

Location was perfect for me

Kind welcome by manager. Right on 101 with many logging trucks and loud vehicles going by . Although pet friendly, no area close by to allow dog to pee or ve odf leash.
