A++, from allocated parking to excellent front of house greeting , comfortable well decorated rooms and relaxed restaurant dining with tasty food. Complimentary wine and good weather....we thoroughly enjoyed our stay . We walked 1/2 around lake and took train back to Bala . Great base for exploring the area highly recommend hotel and the staff working their.

They upgraded me to their superior room which was nice of them. Lee and the staff were helpful and very friendly. The menu was good and my evening meal was really good, I didn’t have breakfast. Nicely touch with the name sign for parking. 10 minute walk to the lake up the road was good at the end of the day!

I stayed for one nite in room 3 top floor. It’s situated at rear so away from Main Street at front , therefore so quiet . Lovely room , my gut feeling is the breakfast would be great , but I had to leave early so unfortunately can’t comment . Parking for my motorbike was easy and also at rear. Would definitely stay here again .

The staff are so helpful, nothing was any bother which isn't always the case when you have dogs with you. The whole place is dog friendly with open access (except the kitchen of course) so really welcoming. Food is brilliant too, cooked freshly to order and a nice cosy bar to relax in. We will definitely go back again.

A fabulous, friendly, spotless hotel with named parking space on arrival. We had a fantastic meal in the evening and breakfast included is amazing - everything about the hotel is amazing!

Hotel was lovely, parking space on arrival reserved for us which was a nice touch, bar staff, Lee, exceptional, warm and friendly, room was lovely, very large and clean. The highlight of this hotel is the restaurant, the food is the best we have had. If i had one criticism, it would be that they need more staff at breakfast, felt like the young lady that served us couldnt cope, we had to keep asking for things, ie butter for toast, its a pretty standard thing but it took 20 minutes, so everything was cold by the time we got it. Overall though, fantastic place and would definatley return.

Convenient off-road parking at the rear. Good choice of evening meals, really top quality meal and breakfast. Good size room which was very clean and well presented. Staff customer service above and beyond expectations. Highly recommended and will return for another visit.

Nice and friendly welcome and on arrival impressed with the bedroom however on checking bedding a dried blood stain on the fitted sheet which was clear to see and in clear view (must have been seen when making the bed up) and also a dirty stained pillowcase was evident. Reception informed and immediately resolved the issue. They also offered a free drink as an apology. Tv remote required new batteries but was advised the sensor was hid behind the dressing table mirror and although we moved it, it still did not work. We were in room 6 and the noise from the large industrial fans were running up to 10:30 at night and we were awoken by them restarting at 6am. Avoid this room if you want a peaceful night sleep. The food was amazing at breakfast and evening meal and therefore this influenced the better star rating given. Such a shame as if there had been no issues it would have deserved a higher score.

The rooms are very spacious, especially for a twin share. There did appear to be (what looked like) black dog hair in the bathroom. Complimentary wine was appreciated and whilst the Sunday roast was great, dinner on a week night was very ordinary

Nice clean place. The room and bathroom doors on the upper floor are meant for hobbits. Therefore, if a normal person is not careful, it leaves a bump on their head. On a warm day, those rooms are not very comfortable to sleep as there is no air conditioning.

Friendly efficient check in. Room 6 was very spacious and had a great bathroom with huge walk in shower. Lovely area near the lake. Breakfast cooked to order and very good. Great find.

Great refuge during the recent Storm Darragh. Staff particularly Joe, very friendly and helpful. Food excellent and very generous portions. Room very comfortable although showing some signs of wear & tear. Bed very comfy. Would stay again if visiting Bala. Thank you.

This is one of the nicest hotels I've stayed in, the room was expansive and beautiful, the shower was like being under a warm waterfall, the staff were so friendly and helpful. The breakfast was divine even if my eyes were bigger than my belly. I would highly recommend staying here and I might do so again in future.

The hotel was incredibly reasonably priced, we were pleasant surprised at how lovely it was. The room was warm and spacious with a huge bed, the furniture was solid work and great quality. The bathroom was clean and everything worked perfectly. The breakfast in the morning was lovely and we were served by a really polite and friendly waiter. Overall I couldn’t recommend enough.

We loved our one-night stay in Bala. The family room we stayed in was spacious, clean and very comfortable. Despite being on the main road, it was surprisingly quiet from around 10pm. Good night’s sleep, delicious breakfast and welcoming staff. We would definitely stay again.

3.5 stars at best. Comfortable, but housekeeping did a terrible job. Only one room key. Staff never apologized for any issues (not guest focused). Food extremely average. Had to beg for boiling water from the bar for tea as their hot water machine was luke warm. Harassed by housekeeping to leave my room 30 minutes before our agreed upon late checkout time with the manager. We were told to “get on our way.” Osian was the best of the bunch with a smile and greetings all weekend.

The overall experience was ok, nothing special. It’s definitely no a 5 star hotel. We also had dinner and breakfast in the hotel and overall it was decent. At the arrival, no one explained as where the parking was, the WiFi and how to enter the property after 8 pm. At the check out no one was there and we just left the key to the chef

Comfortable stay the night before the Bala swim. Service at evening meal was excellent. Breakfast service Terrible as only 1 member of staff at start of breakfast. Long wait until more staff arrived. Most of us needed feeding before the swim & a few left even though it was included.

Hotel was lovely, parking space on arrival reserved for us which was a nice touch, bar staff, Lee, exceptional, warm and friendly, room was lovely, very large and clean. The highlight of this hotel is the restaurant, the food is the best we have had. If i had one criticism, it would be that they need more staff at breakfast, felt like the young lady that served us couldnt cope, we had to keep asking for things, ie butter for toast, its a pretty standard thing but it took 20 minutes, so everything was cold by the time we got it. Overall though, fantastic place and would definatley return.

Absolutely brilliant hotel. Lovely atmosphere. Room was excellent, clean, bright lovely view. Dinner was excellent, great food, great service. Staff can’t do enough for you. They upgraded me to their superior room which was nice of them. Lee and the staff were helpful and very friendly. The menu was good and my evening meal was really good, I didn’t have breakfast. Nicely touch with the name sign for parking. 10 minute walk to the lake up the road was good at the end of the day!

Friendly efficient check in. Room 6 was very spacious and had a great bathroom with huge walk in shower. Lovely area near the lake. Breakfast cooked to order and very good. Great find.

I booked a Superior room for a one night stay to attend parkrun on a Saturday morning. I received a very warm welcome on checking and was informed that I had a reserved parking space allocated to me at the rear of the property which was a really nice touch. I had Room 4 which had a large double comfy bed - dressing table wardrobe and a sofa and chair. Nice hospitality tray provided The room had an ensuite with a large walk in shower nice quality towels and toiletries Breakfast was included in the price and you'd be hard pressed not to find something to suit. Check out is 10am but I was able to leave my car in the parking spot till about 12. I didn't eat in the evening as I had arrangements already made. I found the Hotel and area around very quiet overnight too.

Great hospitality. Room clean and comfortable with tea & coffee making facilities, water and a tiny bottle of wine! Spacious bathroom with generous sizes of pump dispensed shampoo, shower gel and moisturiser. Room was a great temperature and quiet. Ate dinner in the dining room and service was warm and friendly with generous portions. Ditto Breakfast. A great space to stay in Bala.

Fantastic pub! Room and bathroom clean with all facilities needed. Had a fantastic roast on the Sunday with a choice of 3 meats. Evening meals good too with a varied menu. Breakfast also great with an extensive selection. Staff made it memorable with their friendly, helpful approach. Look forward to retuning.

Great refuge during the recent Storm Darragh. Staff particularly Joe, very friendly and helpful. Food excellent and very generous portions. Room very comfortable although showing some signs of wear & tear. Bed very comfy. Would stay again if visiting Bala. Thank you.

What can I say? The hotel was stunning, the room was spacious and spotless! Dinner a breakfast brilliant. Staff amazing. If I could give it more stars I would. Thank you for a great stay!

This is one of the nicest hotels I've stayed in, the room was expansive and beautiful, the shower was like being under a warm waterfall, the staff were so friendly and helpful. The breakfast was divine even if my eyes were bigger than my belly. I would highly recommend staying here and I might do so again in future.

The rooms are very spacious, especially for a twin share. There did appear to be (what looked like) black dog hair in the bathroom. Complimentary wine was appreciated and whilst the Sunday roast was great, dinner on a week night was very ordinary

Had a lovely short break. Hotel room was spotless and very comfortable. Food was amazing. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Excellent location. Would definitely stay there again and highly recommend.

We would definitely stay here again. Very friendly helpful staff from the start of our stay until the end. Food always very hot and freshly made. Amazing breakfast with a starter a main and as many hot or cold drinks you want. Room good size large comfy bed good pillows very clean. Large rainfall shower. Hand soap hand lotion shower gel and shampoo. Tea coffee biscuits still and fizzy water in room. We stayed in a back room but did see rooms on the front with bay windows were bigger and brighter. Good patking spaces at back. We also loved the spiral staircase a lovely building with a bar restaurant reception disabled toilets seating out the front a library big stone fireplace lots of leaflets of local attractions. Lovely little village with shops cafes etc a short walk to the lake and visitor center. You can take a dip if its warm. Definitely try the whippy icecream van double 99 it's huge lol. Here you are an hour away from Barmouth and Snowdonia. We saw sheep goats birds rabbits during our stay. We both enjoyed our stay here. This was our third family visit to the Plas yn Dre. The B&B is central to Bala and well situated for visiting the Bala Lake Railway. This visit was to its usual high standards - from easy parking to a comfortable and spacious family room. The facilities are clean and well maintained. We enjoyed a lovely evening meal at the pub and a welcome good night’s sleep. Breakfast was delicious and filling, with a good choice available of the menu. The friendly staff were the standout feature of the visit. Would highly recommend and look forward to our next visit.

Centrally located hotel. We had an in room issue upon checking in, this was swiftly addressed to our satisfaction. Nice room, a little hot due to extreme weather, there was a fan in the room which helped somewhat. Staff were great, really friendly. Breakfast was really good (didn't have an evening meal but others eating seemed happy with what they had. Would I stay again- yes.

Stayed here for 3 nights while doing a road trip of Wales and this was our favourite stay. Staff were great, chatty and gave advise on where to visit. Room was perfect for what we needed.
