The Southern Wind Inn was very hospitable. The hosts offered help with luggage and was welcoming. The room was clean & the bed very comfortable . My only negative was the condition of the tub, which looked like it was chipping or peeling. The Inn was only a block off St. George St. Music from surrounding restaurants/ bars could be heard late in the evening, but wasn't so loud as to prevent sleep. A fresh breakfast consisting of an egg, toast, fresh fruit, juice, coffee/tea was served in the common room. Parking on site or in a lot across the street for fee.

I would like to start by saying the woman working there was doing the best she could all by herself. Parking was really bad. The parking lot was full when we arrived at around 11am. We were going to check in then just explore everything while waiting for our room to be ready. We drove around and kept checking the Lot that we were supposed to park in. No luck. We ended up paying $25.00 down the street. We finally found an open space at 8pm. We didn't dare leave in our car the next day so we ended up not seeing the things we had planned.

Our stay was well. The manager communicated well and respnded to messages. The room was clean and as described. We loved the ole elements of the house. We enjoyed the balcony at night people watching. Easy parking access. Walking distance from all main attractions. Yummy hot fresh breakfast. No on site staff at night 😕 could use some updates on the hospitality side-offerings but still decent as is.

This is a very cute inn. The location is perfect if you’re wanting to walk around historic district. The owner assisted us in getting our luggage from and to the car, and were very accommodating. The offered free bottled water and complimentary wine. They were not serving breakfast when we stayed however it was mentioned at time of booking. The room was clean & quaint, however the bathtub needs some work, toilet was very low Just a fair warning all rooms are upstairs and no elevator. I can’t say enough about the hospitality which is very important. The room we stayed in the bed was extremely high and for me was very difficult to get into.

This was a very old home in a very old town. The bed was somewhat comfortable. The ceiling fan had one setting so if you sleep hot then you’re up the creek! The entire house was on one AC setting. The room had no extra outlets for charging “new phones” and no mini-fridge for drinks (especially for those who are diabetic and need sodas/juice in the middle of the night). The tub was a bit taller than most tubs which made it a challenge to get in/out of. There was also a lot of street lights that came in from the windows even with the blinds closed….curtains would be ideal for the front bedrooms. Parking area in the back is okay….just needs attention! Trash could be picked up and the landscaping taken care of. Just some suggestions for the amount of money we paid for 2 nights. We paid fifty dollars for one night at a hotel which was 1000 times nicer.

This bed and breakfast is managed by a company that also manages other bed and breakfasts in the area. You cannot call and directly talk to someone on site and that should have been my first warning bell. Overall the building isnt dirty but its also not maintained. The porch on the back is falling into disaray and badly in need of some work. Weeds grew uncontrolled in the gardens and in general just a good sweeping could have made a major change to the outside of the property. Once inside we were shown to our room- which was not the room that was booked. We booked the honeymoon suite and this was even confirmed two weeks before our visit. Instead we stayed in the porcelain room. When I inquired with the woman who checked us in she let it slip that the woman who was staying in the honeymoon room extended her stay but that I would have to called management. When I called I was told there was an issue with the honeymoon suite and they had to change my room. When I asked to make sure that I wasnt paying more for this room, which had less ammenties they lied and told me the porclein room was more per night. When I questioned this further they said the issue with the honeymoon suite was the jetted tub and said they could ask about getting me a small refund for my inconvenience. The rooms are listed as the exact same cost on the website and the room availability confirmed that the honeymoon suite would have been available the next night.

Thank God for The Southern Wind! Still offering decent rates, in the BEST location. The rooms are clean and the staff are excellent. Be warned that you really cannot get a hold of anyone until the day before or so of your stay. Someone will call you out of the blue from Saint Augustine a few days before your stay, lol, so answer your phone. Also, there are a lot of steps up down and all around in the house, so it is not for disabled people. Other than not being able to get a hold of staff prior to your stay, it is a wonderful place to stay, and has two excellent restaurants within steps (across the street), and a coffee shop down the street,(there are several excellent Cuban restaurants with EXCELLENT espresso within walking distance). Downtown historic Saint Augustine has many good restaurants, some which are not really advertised and are just in little holes in the wall, so you really have to walk the streets up and down and back-and-forth to find places of interest, and then try to get a hold of somebody to see when they're open, lol. I am local, and as a special note, I would suggest if you can walk a good distance, make sure that you walk all through south town., too. Don't stay on St. George. The best rooms are the two facing the street, Cordova, one is called the veranda, but I don't remember the name of the second one

Lovely rooms and Robin was very friendly. The breakfast was awesome. The parking lot needs work but there is parking. Very convenient to downtown and transportation is available. 10 minute walk to St George street for shopping and close to Flagler College and some gorgeous churches built by Flagler.

The property is poorly maintained, our room smelled of urine. I informed the staff each day of our visit with no relief, we had a byfold door on our bathroom that didnt work. no stoper in the tub, remote only worked on the cable box, flooring so soft in places we had to be very careful, door knob to the front deck kept falling off. Honestly we had already been on the road for 5 days and were just to tierd to go elsewhere. We were so very disappointed.

The room cleanliness could be improved. Very disappointed in the fact it was probable the only place in the Historic District that did not decorate for the Holidays. For $700 for 2 nights I expected more.

Stayed in the Coquina room. Not the room I booked. The room was very small and dirty. Nowhere to put anything in the bathroom. Wobbly shelf over toilet that I was afraid my stuff would fall into the toilet. Not even a nightstand next to bed. No AC control in room so room was humid. Death stairs to the room which was entered from outside back yard. Yard had junk piled up under stairs. Property is very run down and needs a lot of work. You would think having new owners, they would want to make it nice. Breakfast not bad but late with small window of time 9:00-9:30. Unfortunately will never stay here again.

Great location. King size bed was very comfortable. The bathroom/shower was small. No place to hang a towel by the sink that was separate from the bathroom. Electric appliance kept disconnecting from the wall during use. Our socks/feet were dirty from walking on the floors. Home is older and probably could use some updating.

Great location but lots of dumpster noise in the early hours as parking lot across the street has 5 huge ones that are there due to construction I believe ( hopefully not permanent) and they get emptied daily!

The bed was terrible and squeaked all night. Seriously if you moved an inch it made a loud squeak and kept us up most of the night. Room was really small. Breakfast was like a Holiday Inn. For the money we spent I would have expected more. The only exception was the location was great and people were very nice.

Location was great! Can walk all over town. I don't think we are B&B people. Can't control room temperature. Breakfast was excellent but not available until after 9. Plus we were beside the kitchen and I don't like the smell of coffee.

A very sweet place in an excellent location near the old historic district. However, the room was cold as a meat locker and was only adjustable in the hallway for everyone. I did that, but it didn’t make much difference. The blinds didn’t work well, and the windows were not openable to regulate the temperature. The people were lovely though, and the breakfast was fine.

Really close to St George street and all the shopping, which was great. Room was nice enough, but no garbage except a little one in the bathroom, Wi-Fi wasn’t very good and not very many plugs in the room. Communication with contact at property wasn’t always clear. In addition, how does a Bed and Breakfast not have breakfast?

We have stayed here 20 times over the years. Unfortunately the Fern room had no A.C. in it. I mentioned it to a staff member and she took the time to show me where the thermostat was and how to adjust it. But, to no avail. There was no air getting to this room. Super hot. Hard to sleep. Sigh.

This was a very old home in a very old town. The bed was somewhat comfortable. The ceiling fan had one setting so if you sleep hot then you’re up the creek! The entire house was on one AC setting. The room had no extra outlets for charging “new phones” and no mini-fridge for drinks (especially for those of us who are diabetic and need sodas/juice in the middle of the night). The tub was a bit taller than most tubs which made it a challenge to get in/out of. There was also a lot of street lights that came in from the windows even with the blinds closed….curtains would be ideal for the front bedrooms. Parking area in the back is okay….just needs attention! Trash could be picked up and the landscaping taken care of. Just some suggestions for the amount of money we paid for 2 nights. We paid $50 for one night at a hotel which was 1000 times nicer.

Very convenient and walkable to downtown, and the beach is a short 10 minute drive over the bridge. The bed and pillows were very comfortable; the room was extremely bright and could have have used light blocking shades. The room also needed more places to put your items such as night stands and more small tables. Also full size towels would have been a nice touch. Overall very clean and the staff was excellent and communicated very well prior to arrival. Parking is included, however there is a $45 cleaning fee even though we did not have the room cleaned for the 3 nights we stayed.

Our stay was well. The manager communicated well and respnded to messages. The room was clean and as described. We loved the ole elements of the house. We enjoyed the balcony at night people watching. Easy parking access. Walking distance from all main attractions. Yummy hot fresh breakfast. No on site staff at night 😕 could use some updates on the hospitality side-offerings but still decent as is.

We arrived and the place was locked tight. We could not get in after trying several phone numbers. We had to find a B&B that had space for us, for the weekend. We stayed at one B&B for one night and then move to another one for the other two. We told two other couples who showed up about the problem. The people who own this B&B are horrible human beings.

The manager of this property, Robin, was incredible! She was texting us hours before our arrival with all kinds of pertinent information. She prepared a wonderful breakfast for everyone in the morning.

Very not a B &B vibe. We were not met by the host. I had to make a phone call when we got in. The call was abtupt. "Thecm key is in the msilbox." Not a very safe feeling to have the key left outside. Breakfast food was alright. Hosts brought out the food and left no friendly conversation. While we were sitting there finishing breakfast, they had a bug guy spraying in the room. YUCK! I have stayed at this B&B a few times. It has always been lovely. Nithing about this place would want me to come back.

We wanted to visit St. Augustine for the Nights of Lights event and this inn is in a great location to walk around St. George’s street. The room we booked (Porcelain) was nice and cozy, and it was perfect for our 1 night stay. Robin was an excellent hostess and we didn’t encounter any issues. She was very helpful and communicative. Overall, this is a great place to stay if you want to be minutes away from the fort and all the local restaurants, historic sites, and shops.

This bed and breakfast is managed by a company that also manages other bed and breakfasts in the area. You cannot call and directly talk to someone on site and that should have been my first warning bell. Overall the building isnt dirty but its also not maintained. The porch on the back is falling into disaray and badly in need of some work. Weeds grew uncontrolled in the gardens and in general just a good sweeping could have made a major change to the outside of the property. Once inside we were shown to our room- which was not the room that was booked. We booked the honeymoon suite and this was even confirmed two weeks before our visit. Instead we stayed in the porcelain room. When I inquired with the woman who checked us in she let it slip that the woman who was staying in the honeymoon room extended her stay but that I would have to called management. When I called I was told there was an issue with the honeymoon suite and they had to change my room. When I asked to make sure that I wasnt paying more for this room, which had less ammenties they lied and told me the porclein room was more per night. When I questioned this further they said the issue with the honeymoon suite was the jetted tub and said they could ask about getting me a small refund for my inconvenience. The rooms are listed as the exact same cost on the website and the room availability confirmed that the honeymoon suite would have been available the next night.

Robin, the hostess, was perfect. She was friendly and had everything ready to go. Breakfast was awesome! The location is convenient to everything and the parking was great. That said, the house doesn’t live up to the pics. Our bathroom, while perfectly clean, needs a lot of updating. The bed was so so. On balance, this was a good place to stay. Were it not for Robin though, we’d have likely had a different overall opinion.

Thank God for The Southern Wind! Still offering decent rates, in the BEST location. The rooms are clean and the staff are excellent. Be warned that you really cannot get a hold of anyone until the day before or so of your stay. Someone will call you out of the blue from Saint Augustine a few days before your stay, lol, so answer your phone. Also, there are a lot of steps up down and all around in the house, so it is not for disabled people. Other than not being able to get a hold of staff prior to your stay, it is a wonderful place to stay, and has two excellent restaurants within steps (across the street), and a coffee shop down the street,(there are several excellent Cuban restaurants with EXCELLENT espresso within walking distance). Downtown historic Saint Augustine has many good restaurants, some which are not really advertised and are just in little holes in the wall, so you really have to walk the streets up and down and back-and-forth to find places of interest, and then try to get a hold of somebody to see when they're open, lol. I am local, and as a special note, I would suggest if you can walk a good distance, make sure that you walk all through south town., too. Don't stay on St. George. The best rooms are the two facing the street, Cordova, one is called the veranda, but I don't remember the name of the second one

There was no One there to greet us. The parking area and back entrance were so dirty. It was uncomfortable going up the stairs. There is no breakfast, or access code given to get ice or make coffee. I reached out to the individuals in charge and no one ever replied to me. for the price we paid was disbelief. Hours after we left, someone called to ask if we had checked out and didn’t even know what room we were in.

The Southern Wind Inn was very hospitable. The hosts offered help with luggage and was welcoming. The room was clean & the bed very comfortable . My only negative was the condition of the tub, which looked like it was chipping or peeling. The Inn was only a block off St. George St. Music from surrounding restaurants/ bars could be heard late in the evening, but wasn't so loud as to prevent sleep. A fresh breakfast consisting of an egg, toast, fresh fruit, juice, coffee/tea was served in the common room. Parking on site or in a lot across the street for fee.

Really close to St George street and all the shopping, which was great. Room was nice enough, but no garbage except a little one in the bathroom, Wi-Fi wasn’t very good and not very many plugs in the room. Communication with contact at property wasn’t always clear. In addition, how does a Bed and Breakfast not have breakfast?

We really enjoyed staying here! Robin, the hostess, is lovely, very helpful, and kind. We are close to historic DT, a great coffee shop up in walking distance, and other restaurants. Parking across street is convenient. Breakfast is basic, but good.

Lovely B&B in a great location. Everything is in walking distance, and we had great food recommendations from our host Robin. She was so very fruedly, and personable. She is very dedicated to make her guests feel at home, providing a hot gomemade breakfast each morning. Would definitely stay again. 😊

Very not a B &B vibe. We were not met by the host. I had to make a phone call when we got in. The call was abtupt. "Thecm key is in the msilbox." Not a very safe feeling to have the key left outside. Breakfast food was alright. Hosts brought out the food and left no friendly conversation. While we were sitting there finishing breakfast, they had a bug guy spraying in the room. YUCK! I have stayed at this B&B a few times. It has always been lovely. Nithing about this place would want me to come back.

The stay was ok. The best part of the place was location. The house is old and the furniture appears to be from that era. It was almost like self service when checking out. I didn’t have a bad experience but the breakfast that they offer on the website was not being served so that was not very good.

The property was good location that and the hot tub in the suite were all that was good the breakfast or lack of breakfast was awful. Stale bread and someone who could not even speak English I asked questions the evening before and the inn keeper acted like it was a bother and I should have known how the place worked and their schedule ummm I’ve never been here. Everything is in need of repair and updating.

It was kind of run down. We have stayed in alot of old homes that are bed and breakfasts and this one was sub par. The host was helpful. It was just not too appealing.

The bed was terrible and squeaked all night. Seriously if you moved an inch it made a loud squeak and kept us up most of the night. Room was really small. Breakfast was like a Holiday Inn. For the money we spent I would have expected more. The only exception was the location was great and people were very nice.

Our stay was well. The manager communicated well and respnded to messages. The room was clean and as described. We loved the ole elements of the house. We enjoyed the balcony at night people watching. Easy parking access. Walking distance from all main attractions. Yummy hot fresh breakfast. No on site staff at night 😕 could use some updates on the hospitality side-offerings but still decent as is.
