Thats a amazing place full of history,excelent ubication,owners are very friendly,try the guest like they own family,everything clean ,in perfect condition,i was in 5 stars hotels before and this dont have nothing to envy one of them,quiet and clean ,great gardens with outside areas,plenty of green and nature near the city but you can feel like you be in another time far of the stress of the city,recomend 100 percent ,a inforgetable experience,history,nature and confort together to bring to you a awesome experience

The Oakwood Inn is a very nice place to stay! Clean rooms, wonderful staff, warm and cozy, and excellent breakfast. I really liked the family room in the basement where you can gather with friends or family and visit. I like how tea and coffee were always available. It felt like being in your own home. It's easy to get to and has a nice backyard/nature setting. The only thing I didn't care for was the music that played in the dining room most of the day that I could hear in my room that was over the dining room. I would definitely stay there again but I will reserve a room further away from the dining room. Otherwise, a very nice place!!

I love the peace and quiet of this charming bed-and-breakfast also loved that it was adults. Only the rooms were beautiful and spacious and the food was pretty good too. I don’t care for ham in any of my breakfast, but I just picked it out of my breakfast. great selection of coffee, tea, hot, chocolate, I love the peace and quiet of this charming bed-and-breakfast also loved that it was adults. From the moment we walked in, the Oakwood Inn was so inviting! Doug & Mari (Innsitters) could not have been more kind. Their cookies, coffee and breakfasts were delicious! Enjoyed sitting in rockers on front porch in the mornings and reading in the backyard. The Inn always had a pleasant smell, and loved the sheets so much I have to order. Our room was spacious and appreciated the bathroom amenities. Thank you.

Beautiful B and B in a great setting, out and away from the touristy part of Okoboji. Good service with lots of amenities. Not on the water, but nice, peaceful and quiet. Breakfast was unique, but with no real choices.

Bridget & Bill are wonderful hosts and always willing to help with anything around the inn or make suggestions for off the property. The property itself is lovely as are the rooms. It backs up to a nature area with paths right up to the inn property for walks or bike rides. The property grounds are beautifully landscaped with several large sitting areas. Each room also has its own outdoor table & chairs. Bridget’s breakfasts are truly something to write home about! All in all, a great place to stay.

What a lovely place to stay! From the fresh cookies and warm greeting we received upon arrival, to the clean and inviting accommodations, to the delicious breakfasts, to the quiet and peaceful surroundings, we felt delighted by the opportunity to come away from our busy schedules and rest and relax. Bridget and Bill went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable! We appreciated the list they provided of favorite local sights, restaurants, and shops - we visited several and they did not disappoint!

We would highly recommend staying here. Very cozy and owners are extremely kind and accommodating. The breakfast was delicious and were able to accommodate our dietary needs. The bed was cozy and the room was very clean. The building was so unique and beautifully updated.

I travel ALOT for work, and rarely have time to leave reviews for each place, but this one is a MUST. Beautiful, super clean and well-appointed rooms, idyllic setting, staff (Sue) was wonderful, and the breakfast was delicious - I highly recommend the owner's egg bake recipe. I was even greeted by the local deer population at the front entrance upon arrival. It was a welcome change from generic hotel rooms. My room had a working fireplace and hot tub, which was a much appreciated in Iowa winter after a 6 hour drive. I can't wait to be back in this area for another stay. May need to bring the hubby for a nice romantic weekend getaway this summer, and explore the beautiful grounds!

This place is amazing and Bill and Bridget are wonderful. Bridget's breakfast is so good. Her food is amazing. She accommodated are vegetarian lifestyle and it wasn't boring food. Rooms large, everything you need is there. The robes are cozy. Grounds beautiful. I would recommend to anyone. It is adult only so great for a couples getaway or anniversary. So much more than a hotel. So peaceful. Thank you to our host and hostess for making it unforgettable.

We would highly recommend staying here. Very cozy and owners are extremely kind and accommodating. The breakfast was delicious and were able to accommodate our dietary needs. The bed was cozy and the room was very clean. The building was so unique and beautifully updated.

From the moment we walked in, the Oakwood Inn was so inviting! Doug & Mari (Innsitters) could not have been more kind. Their cookies, coffee and breakfasts were delicious! Enjoyed sitting in rockers on front porch in the mornings and reading in the backyard. The Inn always had a pleasant smell, and loved the sheets so much I have to order. Our room was spacious and appreciated the bathroom amenities. Thank you.

From the fresh cookies and warm greeting we received upon arrival, to the clean and inviting accommodations, to the delicious breakfasts, to the quiet and peaceful surroundings, we felt delighted by the opportunity to come away from our busy schedules and rest and relax. The Oakwood Inn is a very nice place to stay! Clean rooms, wonderful staff, warm and cozy, and excellent breakfast. I really liked the family room in the basement where you can gather with friends or family and visit. I like how tea and coffee were always available. It felt like being in your own home. It's easy to get to and has a nice backyard/nature setting. The only thing I didn't care for was the music that played in the dining room most of the day that I could hear in my room that was over the dining room. I would definitely stay there again but I will reserve a room further away from the dining room. Otherwise, a very nice place!!

This place is amazing and Bill and Bridget are wonderful. Bridget's breakfast is so good. Her food is amazing. She accommodated are vegetarian lifestyle and it wasn't boring food. Rooms large, everything you need is there. The robes are cozy. Grounds beautiful. I would recommend to anyone. It is adult only so great for a couples getaway or anniversary. So much more than a hotel. So peaceful. Thank you to our host and hostess for making it unforgettable.

I travel ALOT for work, and rarely have time to leave reviews for each place, but this one is a MUST. Beautiful, super clean and well-appointed rooms, idyllic setting, staff (Sue) was wonderful, and the breakfast was delicious - I highly recommend the owner's egg bake recipe. I was even greeted by the local deer population at the front entrance upon arrival. It was a welcome change from generic hotel rooms. My room had a working fireplace and hot tub, which was a much appreciated in Iowa winter after a 6 hour drive. I can't wait to be back in this area for another stay. May need to bring the hubby for a nice romantic weekend getaway this summer, and explore the beautiful grounds!

What a great place! I arrived close to two hours before check-in time and was going to do some paperwork in my vehicle, but I was approached by the the owner who, along with his wife, was doing work on the beautiful landscaping. He asked if I wanted to check in early so that I didn’t have to sit in my vehicle. That’s how my day started and it really only got better from there. The grounds were amazing, the interior was amazing, my room was so clean and so comfortable, the patio off of my room was overlooking it park like view. I actually took pictures and videos to show my wife. The full service breakfast was awesome too. I’m in the area for business multiple times a year and will definitely make this my regular place to stay. I highly recommend.

The Inn is absolutely gorgeous and the grounds and gardens are immaculate. The breakfast was delightful with two wonderful courses of homemade food. The bed was fluffy and so comfortable..they also provide a comfy robe for when you are done bathing. I had a room with a veranda that overlooked the gardens,, listening to the birds sing was a bit of heaven. Bridget's complimentary chocolate chip cookies melted in my mouth. If you want to find a getaway that makes you feel special spend a night with Bill and Bridget at the Oakwood Inn,you will not be disappointed.☺️😊
