This property not only has a pretty cool Tap House attached it to, but also has a Target attached to it. You can walk to both without even stepping foot outside. Also, ample parking is available and conveniently located right across the street.

Parking is across the street in a public parking garage that you have to pay for. Breakfast had quite a few options. The room itself was very comfortable and clean.

This is the second time I have stayed and had issues getting in and out of the parking garage using the hotel issued cared. The first time I was stuck for apx. 15 min in the parking garage. The front desk said they are aware of the issue, however it is definitely and inconvenience.

We’re in town for one day and the Hyatt is perfect for our needs - newly decorated, convenient downtown location and garage has EV charging. Plenty of restaurants in walking distance.

The property is centrally located to much of the campus. The breakfast was well stocked and one of the reasons we chose this property. I was disappointed that like many State College properties they say they have secure parking but not that it is $12 overnight. It would be nice if they listed this.

Dirty, dirty and dirty. This place was horrible for the amount of money I paid. Bathroom was filthy, dining table was dirty and window seal was dirty. Pathetic and disgusting!!!!!!

LIKES: Fantastic location if you are visiting Penn State. Front desk staff was very responsive. Next to Target and a restaurant. Everything you need is a walk away. DIDN'T LIKE: The floors in the common areas were sticky. My 1st room had a repulsive odor. We couldn't handle it after 5 min. Never settled in and changed rooms. My 2nd room had an EXTREMELY loud A/C maintenance issue that woke us up all night long. Had to change rooms. The TV streaming service didn't work in the 3rd Room but everything else was OK. I was moved since TV couldn't be quickly fixed, and I was staying all week. The 4th room smelled like dog, but I was tired of moving, so I coped. It is a pet-friendly hotel, but I shouldn't have to smell it. I don't think the floors, furniture, and bedding are being properly cleaned.

There were pluses and minuses for Hyatt Place in State College. The pluses: - Great location. - Nice decor. - Good breakfast choices, well presented. - Excellent breakfast seating space. - In general, everything worked as expected. The minuses: - Yellow stain on comforter. - Bag of someone else's trash in closet. - Bathroom sink drains poorly. - Shelf between bathroom sink and mirror is a good idea on the face of it, but in reality it spaces the guest way too far back from the mirror, with the consequence that the average nearsighted person can't wash up, shave, and make up in any kind of normal way. - Climate control hard to use (for 2 people with advanced physics degrees and years of experience with programmable stats!!) -- needs a book of instructions or some kind of training. - Some of glasses in room are filthy. Understatement. - Breakfast area tables and floor are filthy -- staff does nothing more than remove dirty plates and silverware. Clearly staffing is way too light. - Too few ice machines in hotel. - Ice machine on 4th floor works poorly.

The rooms were not in good condition. The beds had a weird smell, the pillows had more than five hairs inside the pillowcase, and they had a bad smell. The rugs and bed skirts had stains, and we had been waiting for hot water for over an hour. The bathroom was not clean, the tiles in the bathroom did not look clean and did not smell clean, The shower curtains were also dirty.

We had a 3 night stay at this hotel. Overall, it was a decent hotel. The bed was very comfortable and the room was spacious. The bathroom, however, had a number of issues. When we checked in, the sink was clogged. They fixed this within a few hours. The shower made a high pitched noise periodically and took 5 minutes to warm up. The water pressure was not good. The day before we were leaving, the toilet stopped flushing. A front desk employee came right away and figured out the problem, however maintenance would need to replace a part. We were able to work around the issue by adjusting a piece inside the tank while waiting for maintenance. Well, maintenance never showed. About 24 hours later we checked out without it being fixed. Honestly, this was disappointing and would make me reconsider staying here in the future. Breakfast was free which is a big plus when booking a hotel. Unfortunately, the food was not that great, watery eggs, etc. We tried the breakfast 2 days in a row just in case the first day was an off day for them. Same results both days. We decided to go out for breakfast on the 3rd morning. Overall, it is a good location and the staff is friendly.

The room was modern and a good size with comfortable beds, and ample drawer and closet space. Top floor view was great and the location is perfect for downtown State College. The breakfast, except for the tasteless powdered eggs, was good. Staff were friendly and the bar area nice for a late night final drink. Some amenities were deficient. The remote for the tv showed no guide for programs, the volume button malfunctioned often, and the screen had constant pop-ups that could not be stopped. The phone had no instructions for contacting the front desk (we couldn't, after trying multiple numbers, including 0). The shower would simply stop at times, before starting again. Wifi was sporadic, esp. at night. We found out only on the second day that maid service was only for the 3rd day of a stay (we were staying 2 nights). The parking card did not work when we went to exit the garage, and we had to go back to the hotel to get a new one. Individually, these issues would be minor, but the large number of them led to more irritation than we'd normally expect from a hotel stay.

Nice hotel. Very close to Penn state. We did have problems with our tvs and bathroom doors. We had two rooms and had the same problem in both rooms.

No microwaves in the room, and the comforter is more stiff than expected. Additionally, my room didnt get hot water. It was luke warm at best. Overall, good experience. Very nice to have target right next door. Quiet, and responsive heating/cooling unit.

While the room was very clean and taken care of, the walls were pretty thin. We heard people coming and going throughout the night. Otherwise, the area around the hotel was great and the staff was very friendly!

Hotel with terrible staff! Stayed 10 nights here and barely got a smile or a hello from the front desk, housekeeping or the breakfast crew. Housekeeping was the worst! Despite several request to the front desk, they never came to make up the room. They came twice (out of the 10 nights I was there) and the floors weren't even vacuumed. Front desk also charged me for parking even though I had no car. Mind you it's $12 per night. Won't be back.

Hotel with terrible staff! Stayed 10 nights here and barely got a smile or a hello from the front desk, housekeeping or the breakfast crew. Housekeeping was the worst! Despite several request to the front desk, they never came to make up the room. They came twice (out of the 10 nights I was there) and the floors weren't even vacuumed. Front desk also charged me for parking even though I had no car. Mind you it's $12 per night. Won't be back.

I've stayed at this hotel previously and really enjoy the convenience of it being downtown. It's clean and comfortable and the staff are very friendly. On this specific visit, I had an issue with my card when trying to exit the garage. It would not work at all and I was stuck at the gate. I called the hotel quickly and Chris answered. I explained the issue and he literally ran over with a new card. I was so impressed with not only his eagerness to help, but with his smile and friendliness. Chris definitely created a "wow" experience because of his kind act. Thank you Chris!

On the 8th floor and water flow in the sink and shower went from slow the night I got in, to none the next morning. I finally got flow just before checkout. When I checked out I went to the desk to let them know they had a water pressure problem and they said, “Oh, we’ll put a ticket in for that”. No “sorry”, no nothing about their failure and my resulting inconvenience. Just bad service and poor customer relations. This is second bad experience at a Hyatt, and will be the last.

The parking structure should indicate it’s for Hyatt guests, also the confirmation email should indicate to park in structure across the street. Check in line was very long. Keys were not very responsive in elevator or door.

It's a great place to stay when you want the convenience of being right downtown. I've stayed 4 times, and have had no complaints. It's also great that it's attached to Target for any convenience needs.

The room had a stale smell. Kind of like dirty socks. The breakfast could have been better quality. The eggs tasted like they were plastic. Definitely not real eggs. The water for the tea had the taste of coffee. The same water dispenser was probably used previously for coffee. Staff was amazing, however. Very friendly and helpful.

This is a very comfortable place to stay right in the middle of downtown SC. Spacious modern rooms, a top notch free breakfast buffet, and a big comfy lobby on the 2nd floor you can hang out in if you don’t want to be in your room. Always stay there when visiting family in town. There is a small Target store in the building, an amazing coffee shop a block away (Elixr Coffee), the PSU campus nearby, and lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance. Our stays are usually off-season and at those times the rates seem very reasonable for what the hotel offers.

Place was in great location, easy access with parking. Front desk staff was great. Included breakfast was poor, slow to refill the buffet, slow to clean the tables, poor selection of food. Room was made up really late even thought we left early every day of our 3 night stay. One of the days they did not clean our room.

We had a 3 night stay at this hotel. Overall, it was a decent hotel. The bed was very comfortable and the room was spacious. The bathroom, however, had a number of issues. When we checked in, the sink was clogged. They fixed this within a few hours. The shower made a high pitched noise periodically and took 5 minutes to warm up. The water pressure was not good. The day before we were leaving, the toilet stopped flushing. A front desk employee came right away and figured out the problem, however maintenance would need to replace a part. We were able to work around the issue by adjusting a piece inside the tank while waiting for maintenance. Well, maintenance never showed. About 24 hours later we checked out without it being fixed. Honestly, this was disappointing and would make me reconsider staying here in the future. Breakfast was free which is a big plus when booking a hotel. Unfortunately, the food was not that great, watery eggs, etc. We tried the breakfast 2 days in a row just in case the first day was an off day for them. Same results both days. We decided to go out for breakfast on the 3rd morning. Overall, it is a good location and the staff is friendly.

Our stay at this hotel was sub par . After asking a cleaning staff member at 11:30 am if our room was going to get cleaned , she responded that the other male staff member was responsible for our room . And if he couldn’t get to it he would leave a note under the door. So needless to say the room wasn’t cleaned that day at all . We had to call for clean towels . Just not worth it for that price point !

I was staying over the weekend left on Saturday morning about 8 came back at 2:45 and my room was just starting to be cleaned. Had to go down stairs and hang out in the lobby for 20 minutes. Bar was not open so not much to do but sit around and scroll on my phone.

The hotel is well situated in State College and convenient to all downtown locations. The hotel appears new and in excellent condition and the room was spacious and had two beds and a pull-out couch which was good for our family. Check-in process was easy. The staff was friendly. The free breakfast included pot items such as eggs and sausage and was quite good. The hotel itself does not have any parking, but there are several paid parking garages very close by and the hotel can offer discounted parking rates. Overall this was a nice hotel and I would stay here again.
