A lovely BNB! Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Great location near downtown with easy parking. Our room was a bit small but we didn't spend much time in it, so it was not an issue.

Great location, super comfortable bed and sheets, delicious breakfasts! You should know that the air conditioners are in the window if that is something that might keep you awake and breakfast is only served until 930 if you’d like to sleep in, but we loved you

This is such a quaint inn, with clean large rooms, free breakfast and a great common area. The inn keeper was so welcoming and attentive, yet chill, so we felt really comfortable there.

The Elmhurst Inn is a wonderful, quiet B&B with a great location. The grounds are nice with Adirondack changes for relaxing outdoors. The breakfast was very good everyday. It is an easy walk to downtown. We would stay here again and recommend it to others.

Was charming bed and breakfast. Appreciated breakfast options and fresh baked cookies. Sheets were nice and soft and room kept cool with ac. Quiet street but quick walk to restaurants of bar harbor.

Our stay at the Elmhurst Inn was wonderful. The innkeeper made us feel welcome and answered any questions we had. Location was great - easy walk into the center of Bar Harbor and short drive to Acadia National Park. Front porch was a great place to enjoy the weather and meet the other guests. Breakfast was wonderful - every day we had a choice of either a sweet or savory option. Our room (Cadillac) was spacious and clean. Our only wish would have been if the shower was a little bit bigger and the water pressure was better (We're sure it was water saver). Would definitely stay there again if we get back to Bar Harbor.

Great bed and breakfast. Feels like you’re walking into the past with all the historical furniture but with all the modern convenience. Breakfast was phenomenal as other comments have stated. All day coffee and afternoon refreshments were a plus after getting back from some long hikes. The host was very friendly and accommodating. We would definitely come back. If your looking for a great dinner close by “the project social” was our favorite

A very cozy and lovely BnB. We stayed in the Echo Lakes room in the carriage house. It has two bedrooms, 1 bathroom, and a little sitting room with a tv, mini fridge, and keurig. The room was stocked with k-pods and coffee fixins. The daily breakfast (included for free) was absolutely amazing. Each day you have two options to choose from. We always got one of each to try everything. The breakfast was served in the side room which is mostly windows so it is beautiful and bright with nice views of the well kept grounds with their beautiful flower gardens. Cheryl (the property manager) was wonderful and ensured we had everything we needed. The local grocer (Hannifords) was right down the street and it was an easy walk to Agamont Park and other attractions in Bar Harbor.

Charming, comfortable, quiet B&B in Bar Harbor. Great location - about a 5-10 min walk from Main St and close to the sand bar. Grocery store half a block away for snacks and drinks. Cheryl is an amazing host with excellent suggestions accommodating our every request and providing excellent restaurant suggestions. The room was spacious and the sheets were the most comfortable we have ever slept in! Amazing shower with great water pressure. Even the towels were nice - no thin white hotel towels in sight. The hot 3 course breakfast every morning was very good and a great way to start our day.

Our visit to Elmhurst Inn was very nice. The room was clean and functional. We enjoyed the excellent morning breakfast. The location was perfect for a leisurely walk to town. The nightly rate was very reasonable compared for the area.

This was our first time staying at a bed & breakfast and honestly, we absolutely loved our stay! The place was very convenient in terms of the location as there were many places walking distance for food options. We were also greeted by Cheryl upon checking in and she gave us a quick tour of the place to get familiarized. She was very welcoming and a great host. I think if it weren’t for her, it wouldn’t have been as cozy and charming. The room we stayed was very cozy and spacious enough for us. It even had its own chimney/fireplace for which we were able to use the first night and light up a log that they had placed for us. The beds were pretty comfortable and it felt as if we were staying at a family’s home of how cozy it was. My favorite part of the stay was waking up each day around 8 am to the smell of breakfast. It smelled so good all the way up to the room and it was just delightful being able to wake up to fresh, home made breakfast. They served two options of breakfast each day from 8-9:30am. The food was delicious and honestly made our stay much better. Their coffee was amazing as well. We really could’ve sat enough about this place and would return in a heartbeat.

A very cozy and lovely BnB. We stayed in the Echo Lakes room in the carriage house. It has two bedrooms, 1 bathroom, and a little sitting room with a tv, mini fridge, and keurig. The room was stocked with k-pods and coffee fixins. The daily breakfast (included for free) was absolutely amazing. Each day you have two options to choose from. We always got one of each to try everything. The breakfast was served in the side room which is mostly windows so it is beautiful and bright with nice views of the well kept grounds with their beautiful flower gardens. This was our first time staying at a bed & breakfast and honestly, we absolutely loved our stay! The place was very convenient in terms of the location as there were many places walking distance for food options. We were also greeted by Cheryl upon checking in and she gave us a quick tour of the place to get familiarized. She was very welcoming and a great host. I think if it weren’t for her, it wouldn’t have been as cozy and charming. The room we stayed was very cozy and spacious enough for us. It even had its own chimney/fireplace for which we were able to use the first night and light up a log that they had placed for us. The beds were pretty comfortable and it felt as if we were staying at a family’s home of how cozy it was. My favorite part of the stay was waking up each day around 8 am to the smell of breakfast. It smelled so good all the way up to the room and it was just delightful being able to wake up to fresh, home made breakfast. They served two options of breakfast each day from 8-9:30am. The food was delicious and honestly made our stay much better. Their coffee was amazing as well. We really could’ve sat enough about this place and would return in a heartbeat.

Great accommodations. Sheryl the manager was excellent ,very helpful . Gave us recommendations of places to see and popular restaurants. Had to extend another day and was able to accommodate us . Breakfast was excellent. Will be back definitely .

Cheryl was a wonderful host, great recommendations on things to do and places to eat. In off season outside of Bar Harbor many places are closed. Elmhurst is easy walk to great restaurants, favorites were Brassiere Le Brun and Havana. Also the Abbe Museum (10 min walk from Elmhurst) is a world class museum which explores the history and culture of the Wabanaki, Maine's native people.

Great bed and breakfast. Feels like you’re walking into the past with all the historical furniture but with all the modern convenience. Breakfast was phenomenal as other comments have stated. All day coffee and afternoon refreshments were a plus after getting back from some long hikes. The host was very friendly and accommodating. We would definitely come back. If your looking for a great dinner close by “the project social” was our favorite

I can't recommend this place enough. Close to Arcadia, short walk to downtown, fantastic breakfast -- and everyone we met here (working or staying) were absolutely fabulous. We already are thinking about our next trip and will definitely plan to say here again when we are in Bar Harbor.

The Elmhurst Inn is a wonderful, quiet B&B with a great location. The grounds are nice with Adirondack changes for relaxing outdoors. The breakfast was very good everyday. It is an easy walk to downtown. We would stay here again and recommend it to others.

Charming, comfortable, quiet B&B in Bar Harbor. Great location - about a 5-10 min walk from Main St and close to the sand bar. Grocery store half a block away for snacks and drinks. Cheryl is an amazing host with excellent suggestions accommodating our every request and providing excellent restaurant suggestions. The room was spacious and the sheets were the most comfortable we have ever slept in! Amazing shower with great water pressure. Even the towels were nice - no thin white hotel towels in sight. The hot 3 course breakfast every morning was very good and a great way to start our day.

Our stay at the Elmhurst Inn was wonderful. The innkeeper made us feel welcome and answered any questions we had. Location was great - easy walk into the center of Bar Harbor and short drive to Acadia National Park. Front porch was a great place to enjoy the weather and meet the other guests. Breakfast was wonderful - every day we had a choice of either a sweet or savory option. Our room (Cadillac) was spacious and clean. Our only wish would have been if the shower was a little bit bigger and the water pressure was better (We're sure it was water saver). Would definitely stay there again if we get back to Bar Harbor.

Sweet little gem tucked in a calm street with trees and yard space to make you feel nestled but still easy walking distance from all the stores and restaurants. Stayed in the Echo Lake suite and it was perfect for me and my 2 daughters. Safe, clean. Terrific breakfasts and innkeeper is super kind. Would highly recommend.

We had an enjoyable time in Bar Harbor, and liked the Elmhurst Inn enough to recommend it to other travelers. The Inn needs a little update, such as the living room furniture as well as some other furniture pieces. It could use some paint as well (or maybe install Trex decking?). We stayed in the Frenchman Bay Room, which was spacious and comfortable; however, there was an empty, white wooden cabinet/dresser inside the bathroom with two doors that kept opening up due to not having a lock. So, I hanged a towel from both door knobs to keep it closed during our stay. An easy fix: install a small rustic exterior lock or tie the doors close with a ribbon. The morning breakfast was very nice with two hot options each day as well as home-baked banana or pumpkin bread, which were absolutely delicious. The Inn manager, Cheryl, is very kind, helpful and delightful!

The in-house made breakfast as many other comments mentioned is indeed a feature of the hotel and a must-try. The location of the hotel is about 5-10 min walk from the downtown Bar Harbor. Parking in Bar Harbor is a nightmare, so if you plan to spend some time exploring downtown Bar Harbor, this is the right place to stay.
