We loved cooking all meals on the grill, the trout stream that runs through the property and the beauty of the place! Be prepared for biting bugs if they are attracted to you! I did come home with my arms and legs covered in them. I used bug repellent but after taking a shower and going back out on the porch… they got me good. Overall this is a gem!

Out of the way and off the grid property. The road in and out is single lane, be prepared to back out if need be. Lots of twists and turns, if you’re one to get car sick be prepared. But once there it’s a quaint, quiet studio like place with nice little deck to sit on and enjoy the tranquility of the area. No cell, no web service. Just you and your partner, or as it was me and my girl.

Very fun! The Owls Perch space is efficient and compact but also lovely. Very stylish with lots of owls! The creekside location is amazing—loved sleeping to creek noises. The drive there is quite an adventure—the road keeps getting smaller and rougher, but still drivable. You don’t need 4 wheel drive, but the 5” clearance is definitely advised. The real perk, though, is Alice and Doug’s knowledge of the local attractions. So many good ideas of things to do in the area. I had originally planned to just hang out in the cabin for a day (which would have been relaxing and fun), but I was totally tempted by a suggested loop drive through local attractions. I am definitely planning a return visit. So much to do in the area. And this is my ideal for a secluded yet (more than) comfortable getaway.

Beautiful setting..comfortable, didn’t have to ask for a thing, even cooked out on the grill, cool temperature, even in the July heat..had the windows open, listening to the babbling brook all night… definitely met my expectations and more❤️

Absolutely beautiful getaway from the stressors of life. No cell or data service made us finally put work aside and just be together. The hosts, Alice and Doug, were very friendly but gave us privacy to unwind. We spent almost every waking minute on the deck 💜 and the cabin had everything we could need. The ride in on our touring motorcycles was part of the fun but I wouldn't recommend taking a low slung bike on the "road" if you like your exhaust. A perfect place to relax and unwind. Thank you!

While on a motorcycle road trip, I stayed for one night at the Owl’s Perch on September 28th. It is a charming private wood cabin adjacent to the house of the hosts, Doug and Alice. It is quite a unique and peaceful accommodation in Robbinsville, NC, 30 min from the city accessible through a beautiful winding road while being very close to scenic roads and scenery like the Dragon’s tail road. The cabin has a private balcony overlooking a beautiful stream. Upon my arrival, I was greeted by Alice who was very kind and helpful with recommendations to nearby points of interest, and funny too I might add. I wish I could have stayed for more than one night to enjoy the immediate surroundings more, maybe even fishing. If you are looking for something different surrounded by beautiful natural scenery to disconnect from your usual routine, this is it. :)

Owl's Perch is a perfect getaway for singles or couples seeking solitude from civilization. It's located in a remote (but populated) area. The place is small, but has every necessary creature comfort. We especially enjoyed the cleanliness of our little home. We spent much of our time on the deck enjoying the stream. Many natural areas are easy drives away. Your hosts are on site, attentive but never intrusive. Ours was a memorable stay. Dave & Laura

My husband and I stayed at Owl's Perch 3 nights ago and was delighted with stay! Loved the cabin, so cute, decorated so nicely, so CLEAN! Loved the setting! Gorgeous view from the deck. We had our mountain bikes with us and rode on the mountain roads near the cabin and LOVED it! So much fun! We also very much appreciated Alice, a superhost!, giving us great tips on where to go and what to do! She went above and beyond as a host! Thank you Alice! The brochures were very helpful!! We will be back!

If you are looking for a safe, clean, quiet spot to just relax and disconnect from the world- this is it! It is small but comfy and has everything you need except for internet-so unwind, walk, fish, just enjoy the sounds and sights of nature. The owners are so very kind and attentive. I will be back!

Beautiful property and friendly host. We stayed 2 nights, met the host at check in and never saw her again. Although the house is attached to cabin, you cant see it from the room. Gave us much needed privacy and seclusion

The Owl’s Perch was a beautiful and cozy place to stay—secluded near Robbinsville and the Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest. We loved listening to the nearby creek and the soothing sounds of the forest. It’s the perfect peaceful rest stop for hikers exploring nearby trails! The owners provided everything we needed and even welcomed us with helpful information about local sights and hikes. In one day, we visited: • Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest • Huckleberry Bald • Hooper Bald • Bald River Falls • Baby Falls • Lake Santeetlah Thanks to their thoughtfully prepared info sheet, placed right on our bed! We’ll definitely be back!

We went to the Owls Perch for our anniversary trip. We will definitely be going back! It is the best place to unwind and unplug from the world. We enjoyed the ride into town each morning, the mountain views are amazing! Alice was the sweetest host! Everything was perfect!

Everything was perfect and you can't meet a nicer person than Alice. The description was accurate and the directions to the cabin were great. A great place to go if you want to get away from everything.

My husband and I stayed at Owl's Perch 3 nights ago and was delighted with stay! Loved the cabin, so cute, decorated so nicely, so CLEAN! Loved the setting! Gorgeous view from the deck. We had our mountain bikes with us and rode on the mountain roads near the cabin and LOVED it! So much fun! We also very much appreciated Alice, a superhost!, giving us great tips on where to go and what to do! She went above and beyond as a host! Thank you Alice! The brochures were very helpful!! We will be back!

While on a motorcycle road trip, I stayed for one night at the Owl’s Perch on September 28th. It is a charming private wood cabin adjacent to the house of the hosts, Doug and Alice. It is quite a unique and peaceful accommodation in Robbinsville, NC, 30 min from the city accessible through a beautiful winding road while being very close to scenic roads and scenery like the Dragon’s tail road. The cabin has a private balcony overlooking a beautiful stream. Upon my arrival, I was greeted by Alice who was very kind and helpful with recommendations to nearby points of interest, and funny too I might add. I wish I could have stayed for more than one night to enjoy the immediate surroundings more, maybe even fishing. If you are looking for something different surrounded by beautiful natural scenery to disconnect from your usual routine, this is it. :)

Wonderful place and a wonderful host. I highly recommend! Very serene and peaceful, with only the sound of the creek flowing over the rocks. Way off the beaten path, a real mountain retreat.

Out of the way and off the grid property. The road in and out is single lane, be prepared to back out if need be. Lots of twists and turns, if you’re one to get car sick be prepared. But once there it’s a quaint, quiet studio like place with nice little deck to sit on and enjoy the tranquility of the area. No cell, no web service. Just you and your partner, or as it was me and my girl.

Very fun! The Owls Perch space is efficient and compact but also lovely. Very stylish with lots of owls! The creekside location is amazing—loved sleeping to creek noises. The drive there is quite an adventure—the road keeps getting smaller and rougher, but still drivable. You don’t need 4 wheel drive, but the 5” clearance is definitely advised. The real perk, though, is Alice and Doug’s knowledge of the local attractions. So many good ideas of things to do in the area. I had originally planned to just hang out in the cabin for a day (which would have been relaxing and fun), but I was totally tempted by a suggested loop drive through local attractions. I am definitely planning a return visit. So much to do in the area. And this is my ideal for a secluded yet (more than) comfortable getaway.

A quiet, peaceful stay in the beautiful Nantahala Mountains. If you want quiet and remoteness this is the place to be surrounded by forests with a mountain stream below the deck. The hosts are gracious and accommodating. My wife and I had a wonderful stay and look forward to our next trip.

Absolutely beautiful getaway from the stressors of life. No cell or data service made us finally put work aside and just be together. The hosts, Alice and Doug, were very friendly but gave us privacy to unwind. We spent almost every waking minute on the deck 💜 and the cabin had everything we could need. The ride in on our touring motorcycles was part of the fun but I wouldn't recommend taking a low slung bike on the "road" if you like your exhaust. A perfect place to relax and unwind. Thank you!

We loved cooking all meals on the grill, the trout stream that runs through the property and the beauty of the place! Be prepared for biting bugs if they are attracted to you! I did come home with my arms and legs covered in them. I used bug repellent but after taking a shower and going back out on the porch… they got me good. Overall this is a gem!

Beautiful setting..comfortable, didn’t have to ask for a thing, even cooked out on the grill, cool temperature, even in the July heat..had the windows open, listening to the babbling brook all night… definitely met my expectations and more❤️

We had such a wonderful stay at The Owl’s Perch! From the moment we arrived, it was clear that Doug and Alice truly care about their guests and have created a peaceful, welcoming place to relax and unwind. The cabin was spotless, cozy, and thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed. We especially loved the beautiful surroundings of nature and the streaming water, it was the perfect escape.
