This property was interesting. The home was absolutely beautiful. The room was perfect. Clean. Stayed very cool for early august in Missouri. Even the other visitors were very friendly. I loved the art. Just the decor, the vibe. It was all good. I actually kind of enjoyed fixing my own breakfast. Never been to a b and b like that... full access to the kitchen. Might not be for everyone. And no tvs in the rooms. 1 tv downstairs. I thought other guests were disappointed that the tv was being used. The pool table was alot of fun. There was some unusual noise from the carriage house... but it was fine. Overall, the atmosphere, and really the entire weekend, was very relaxing. We had an enjoyable escape. We will probably do it again. St. Joe is a good little town. The vinyard b and b is definitely worth checking.

This property was a rehabilitated building from, apparently, the early 1900s. The best part was the authenticity of the restoration. In addition, the property was spacious and had two bedrooms, one with a king bed and the other with a queen bed. There was an accommodating living room, a nice sitting room, a Butler’s pantry, and an adequate kitchen area. The property contained no dining nearby, but had a usable kitchen. There was no off street parking. The area around the property was itself in need of rehabilitation. The area appears to be a bit rundown . All in all, we had a good sleep and enjoyed the historic nature of the property. We would recommend staying there if you want to stay at a well restored historic building.

The house is mostly finished but it appears to continue to need rehabbing. Loads of interesting art work and antiques. I would have liked some simple instructions of what was available and where to find items related to breakfast. I am fine with fixing my own, but feel like I spent a lot time looking for things and maybe missing available items. The family was responsive when we called about a malfunctioning smoke detector.

I was looking for a quiet place to get an early nights sleep for an extra early start to my business day in the St Joeseph area. This was definately the perfect choice. Available snacks and a friendly host as well as a house cat helped make it feel like a home away frpm home. An interesting history and beautiful furnishings made it even better. After arriving only about 45 min before I hoped to call it a night, I was even able to get in a quick game of pool. Breakfast is at your own leisure anytime after 5 a.m. which was perfect for mey schedule. They do not, however cook you bteakfast, you are free to cook whatever you want from the frig.

Beautiful property. Spotless inside, gorgeous grounds, ample street parking. Host was very responsive with last minute communications. Our unit was cleverly laid out and we were very comfortable. Will definitely come back for a longer stay.

We loved it!! There are so many unique homes in St Joesph! This Bed&Breakfast goes above and beyond to make their guests feel at home. Fully stocked kitchen, to pool table and more...The on-site hosts are very nice. I had accidentally lock myself out of my room and "Bruce" was over right away to help me get back in my room and get my keys. This 5 room mansion (some rooms over 500 sq ft w/bathroom) will NOT disappoint!

Just gorgeous inside and out! Very, very comfortable. The owner has dinner an incredible job decorating the interior to make it look and feel authentic. Extremely well-stocked kitchen with many breakfast options. Will definitely stay here if we're ever passing through again.

We truly enjoyed the Carriage House Apartment. It was so clean and restored to original design. So beautiful. There is an outdoor kitty that comes to greet you and is so friendly!! Such a sweet kitty named Rootbeer! We will definitely stay again!!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Vineyard Mansion. It was like stepping back into the 1880's. The decor was stunning and it was very clean. "Root Beer" was a most gracious host! All in all it was a very unique experience!

There’s a very friendly cat in the house. My wife has a slight allergy to them but it wasn’t really an issue since we only stayed one night. The Crown room restroom is down the hall and the shower/bathtub seems original. That’s nice but it’s a little hard to access after recent hip surgery.

The room was so charming and comfortable. It was so quiet & relaxing. The bed was comfortable, only downside were the pillows were mostly flat. The kitchen was well stocked for anything you wanted to make.

Was homey atmosphere. If you book the Crown Room the bathroom facilities are not in room so come prepared to walk down a small hallway. Advertised as pay at property...this means the property will take your payment . Expedia will not charge your card immediately but the property will.. overall had a nice visit and was a very comfortable stay. WI-FI Conection was not consisten. Luckily I was there for pleasure and not work.

Staying here was like going back in time. The room was gorgeous and every detail was perfect. The owners were friendly, but everyone gave us our space and privacy too.

The property was gorgeous and the check-in was easy! It was a little unclear what items in the kitchen were for guest use, but we figured that out! And the welcoming committee of one--a gorgeous cat--was exceptional :)

I enjoyed the atmosphere of the older home and beautiful furnishings. The owner is warm and friendly and very welcoming. My time in this lovely home was relaxing and really elevated my mood.

Beautiful property. Spotless inside, gorgeous grounds, ample street parking. Host was very responsive with last minute communications. Our unit was cleverly laid out and we were very comfortable. Will definitely come back for a longer stay.

We loved it!! There are so many unique homes in St Joesph! This Bed&Breakfast goes above and beyond to make their guests feel at home. Fully stocked kitchen, to pool table and more...The on-site hosts are very nice. I had accidentally lock myself out of my room and "Bruce" was over right away to help me get back in my room and get my keys. This 5 room mansion (some rooms over 500 sq ft w/bathroom) will NOT disappoint!

This is a very old house, they have done an amazing job restoring it so far. The rooms were beautiful and very comfortable. The on site host was lovely and had cinnamon rolls and coffee ready in the morning. The fully stocked kitchen was great and we didn’t mind fixing ourselves breakfast. Talking to the host was nice, she told us some history of the house and about some of the restoration. We would definitely stay here again.

I loved staying here but my husband did not like the area with safety….parking on the street was a problem. Home was beautiful and comfortable. Quiet retreat if you want to relax and enjoy no electronics!

Really unique and well cared for property. The greeting cat was sweet :-). There neighborhood around the property is kind of run down and I didn’t feel comfortable walking around by myself, which I enjoy doing.

This property was a rehabilitated building from, apparently, the early 1900s. The best part was the authenticity of the restoration. In addition, the property was spacious and had two bedrooms, one with a king bed and the other with a queen bed. There was an accommodating living room, a nice sitting room, a Butler’s pantry, and an adequate kitchen area. The property contained no dining nearby, but had a usable kitchen. There was no off street parking. The area around the property was itself in need of rehabilitation. The area appears to be a bit rundown . All in all, we had a good sleep and enjoyed the historic nature of the property. We would recommend staying there if you want to stay at a well restored historic building.

We stopped in St Joe to tour the historical museums. We decided to stay in a historic property, as part of the experience. The Vineyard B&B was perfect. It sits on "Mansion Hill", a very historic area of St Joe with many fantastic properties, some pristine and some waiting to be restored. The owners were very friendly and have a very interesting decorating sense. It felt like walking back into the 1890s coming in the front door. Highly recommend.

The property was beautiful! We lived the antiques and the beautiful woodwork. It is elegant in a way modern architecture is not. The kitchen was updated, beautiful, and convenient. We did not bake anything, but it was all available if we had wanted to do so. The bedroom was gorgeous and the bathroom was full of character. It was one of our best overnights, ever!

Odd set-up with no staff/host on site at all. You can prepare your own breakfast/coffee from what food is in the cupboards and fridge. Some other guests did this which meant we couldn't use the cooker. The decor is faux Victorian with a slight spooky vibe. You are very much left to your own devices with shared facilities.

There was no breakfast menu. Only option was to make something yourself. Variety of “toaster” breakfast items and cereal. No fresh fruit, no juice. No muffins. Nothing prepared, total self service

This was my first time to stay at a bed and breakfast. I thought it was downright dreamy! The room felt luxurious, the self-serve breakfasts were lovely, the house and everything in it was gorgeous, and it felt comfortable, like I was staying at a friend's house.

We enjoyed this beautiful historic home. The only negative was the breakfast. We were allowed to make our own breakfast, but it felt weird using someone else's cookware and rummaging through a community fridge, so we opted to go to Perkins for breakfast. Maybe individual bottles of milk and juice would have been better, but I don't know that the guy before me didn't drink directly out of the jug of milk and put it back on the shelf! My husband worked in the restaurant biz for 50 years and couldn't imagine this would be acceptable to the health department. The room itself was very nice. No decent restaurants nearby that we could find. Neighborhood to the north was a little sketchy. We did enjoy the walking tour of historic homes in the neighborhood. We would definitely stay here again.

Just gorgeous inside and out! Very, very comfortable. The owner has dinner an incredible job decorating the interior to make it look and feel authentic. Extremely well-stocked kitchen with many breakfast options. Will definitely stay here if we're ever passing through again.

This bed and breakfast was amazing. We enjoyed the historic preservation of the house. The bed was very comfortable too! I was a little disappointed that we had to self serve our breakfast ( I look forward to the amazing breakfasts), however the kitchen was stocked with everything you needed ! They had snacks and even had cookie dough if you wanted to make cookies. We had a great experience. I would stay here again if we go this way again !!

This was a nice place to stop in St Joseph’s. Communication was great. Received several emails explaining checkin and other details about staying here. My biggest complaint was the bed was not comfortable. It had a dip right in the middle that I kept rolling into. Also would have liked to have a bathroom attached instead of the detached version that we had.

I stayed four nights in the Crown Room while in town for my daughter’s birthday. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and there was coffee ready every morning, which I appreciated. A few things stood out as less positive. When I first walked in and was looking around, I stepped in dog feces. That was an unpleasant welcome. I also regularly heard someone walking around on what seemed to be the third floor above me, which woke me up at times during the night. The website describes this as an “alternative bed and breakfast” and invites guests to help themselves to items in the pantry and fridge. In practice there was no clear separation between host food and guest food, which felt confusing. Designated guest areas or clearer labeling would help. I only saw the on-site host twice. She lives at the property. I’m fairly shy, and she came across as somewhat unfriendly, so interactions felt a bit awkward. Overall the space itself was fine and the bed and coffee were positives, but the cleanliness issue on arrival, the nighttime noise from above, the unclear shared kitchen setup, and limited host interaction left me with mixed feelings.

If you looking for an antique type of place to stay that is well maintained, this is a good choice. The kitchen is well stocked for breakfast and the staff is very helpful. Beware it is full of stairs like old houses are, so may not be the choice place to go for those with mobility issues.
