We stayed in a Deluxe King room in the main lodge. It was spacious and well appointed, but there was a musty smell. The bathroom was super small, and did not have any hooks for hanging a robe or anything, no bath mat or rug, and the shower/tub was very slippery.

Great stay, very comfortable and clean. The only improvement suggestion we'd have it some type of no-slip treatment on the shower stall. It was very slippery. Other than that, it was great.

Staff extremely warm and friendly. Gorgeous views, close to Cumbres and Toltec train, quiet and peaceful. Room was clean, however facial tissue was almost out, and bathroom tissue was of very inferior quality. We would stay there again when in the area.

Sadly this was not what we had expected. Squeaky uncomfortable bed, tiniest shower and bathroom I have ever seen. AC only in the living room not the bedroom. Mouse droppings in the bedroom and very loud guests around us all night. Would have probably been better off in a tent.

This is a typical non-chain motel in a small western town. Other than the fact that the facility clearly has some age and is, therefore, dated, there is nothing to complain about. It was reasonably comfortable, certainly appeared to be safe, had decent internet connectivity, and was reasonably priced. We have stayed there before and we were happy to go back.

The lack of functional outlets near the bed was a problem, also. There was a clock with two side outlets, however in the morning, we discovered the hard way they were broken. Rather annoying way to start the day.

Apparently this property was overbooked because when we got there we had no room but had prepaid for it ahead of time. The manager was polite enough but we ended up going to a different hotel for our overnight stay. Very disappointing. And then trying to get our money back became quite a chore. We can't really rate this because we did not stay there and the management tried convincing me it was our fault.

The electrical needs an upgrade, it has been neglected which caused GFI's to trip in the two rooms we reserved. No heat from the space heaters and inoperable refrigerators. Their solution was to unplug and remove a refrigerator, with complete rudeness to our friend who is legally blind. She remarked well you don't need lights to sleep, and I had told her that my friend needs even more lights to see the room, she doesn't know the layout in the middle of the night. The owners were so short with us, because they had someplace to be, that the last offer they gave us was "we can refund you and you can all stay someplace else". Sure at 8:30pm, not professional to say the least.

Reserved a king room and switched to a cabin with queen bed and credit card charged with fees 2 days prior to arrival despite being told we could pay cash. Friendly check in so we didn’t complain because we had limited options. Cabin was clean but very outdated and bed not comfortable and tiny bathroom. Needs updating for the price charged but I suppose that’s the market rate in that area to be near the train. Would not stay again for those reasons but owners were nice.

We loved our stay in this room, it was budget, yes, BUT it had every single thing we needed. Reception very kind and gave good advice for eating out. Beware - things close early and we did end up using the supermarket on the main road and returning to heat something in the microwave. This was not a problem for us but watch out! loved the look of the cabins and next time will choose one of these. Lovely quiet rural area. Thank you to staff and highly recommend.

This was a well-priced hotel in the location I was seeking to ride the nearby scenic railroad. The lady at the front desk was ready for my arrival and helped with a tip for a nearby restaurant! The room was clean and had all the amenities to make our stay easy.

The property itself was quaint and quiet. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I would recommend to people considering a Chama stay to be aware of limited restaurant options Sunday through Wednesday. There is a grocery store for supplies if guests end up fending for themselves.

Dated hotel in need of maintenance. While everything worked, and appropriate in-room amenities were provided, the room condition was poor. Holes in door and walls, trim molding loose, scratched tub, etc. Housekeeping could be improved, for example old coffee grounds left in maker. Not good value at price charged.

The room and furnishings were old but clean. The bathtub was not very clean and could have used a slip resistant surface, reservation was for 3 adults but only two towels were furnished.

Rustic area in NM and the property was very well maintained! We enjoyed our 2 day stay as we were there for the Chama to Antonito train ride which was spectacular!

The staff was amazing. Friendly, helpful, and funny. My rating is because the mattress was too firm and the pillows were flat. The air conditioning could not keep up until the sun went down. It is clear they are trying to upgrade the old part of the hotel. They also have cute little independent cabins that I am sure are great, but really pricey for a town that has very few things to see and do. There is not even a gift shop where you can pick up a Chama t-shirt. They are missing out on some real opportunities given the history of the narrow gauge railroad that was going to be demolished had it not been saved by the states of Colorado and New Mexico.

The room was very neat and clean. Friendly staff. Only issue was the bed is quite soft, and I'm used to sleeping on a firm mattress, so I had a little trouble sleeping. Otherwise a good stay.
