We had room 15 up in the attic which was beautifully decorated in soft green. Like the rest of the hotel, the room was full of character with original oak beams and floorboards.We had a wonderful cast iron roll top bath in the main room, a huge bed with the best quality bedding, a small area to hang clothes and some shelving/ drawers which was fine for a short break. There was also a separate shower room with a huge shower, and the most luxurious white towels we’ve ever had in a hotel, and lots of bottles of toiletries for guests use. There were tea/coffee making facilities with a very good choice of teas, and a Nespresso machine with a variety of pods which we thought was an excellent touch. The downsides to this room was that it was up 2 flights of quite steep stairs, and it was rather hot, although to be fair we stayed there during the recent heatwave, but we drew the thick heavy blind during the day to help keep heat out, and we could’ve asked for a fan. We had 3 very good breakfasts and two very good meals in the restaurant, and the outside area is really very very nice to sit in and have a drink. There is a working water mill in the grounds, and everywhere is kept very neat and tidy…in fact the hotel and grounds are also a wedding venue, unsurprisingly. All the staff are very helpful and lovely.

Nice and spacious king sized room. Pet friendly but at an additional charge! I'd missed the small print way down the hotels.com page and email saying an additional £20 to have a dog. However when we turned up they said it's now £25. Not sure if that was correct or if they were just trying it on.

Quirky, historic, characterful hotel, staff both pleasant & courteous. Spiral staircase with roped handrail to "signature room" might be challenging for some, but worth the effort.

Our room was in a seperate annexe which was fine but was not aware of upon booking , The positive was a lovely large room and bathroom . The bathroom needed the grout and silicone replacing at low level due to mould staining . However this is very small problem the showed was huge and lovely hot water which is the important bit . The main hotel building was very comfortable and the restaurant food was to a very good standard . All the staff were very attentive and friendly. Would recommend it to anyone and would stay again . Great location within easy reach of the Cotswolds pretty must see villages such as Stow and Burford etc

Likes Good location, lovely room, plenty of space, quirky. Dog friendly, although limited to the bar area re dining and breakfast Eat in the bar 1st night food very good, good menu choices. Some good walks from the hotel that are circular, range from 5km upwards Dislikes Busy wedding venue, we were there 3 nights and 2 weddings were on over 2 days, so it did feel like the restaurant area got a higher priority at breakfast re service levels, as often in the bar area (because of dog) it did take a while re service. Buffet elements needed filling up a bit more frequently as well. Breakfast menu had a good choice, good ingredients, well presented and quantity wise all good, the thing that let it down was 'warmth' of the food i.e. a bit luke warm, plates weren't hot, even though cooked fresh, as if it had stood for a while post being served. Also certain younger members of staff need to learn a little more around customer service in general, and at least find a smile!

A delightful place to stay and eat. Room was very clean and bed was one of the most comfortable I have slept in. Enjoyed dinner for two in the attached restaurant. Really good choice of food. Service excellent. All the team working here were friendly and very welcoming. We will definitely return.

The grounds are absolutely beautiful! Good location for heading out to explore the Cotswolds area. The restaurant was exceptional, especially breakfast. The room wasn’t perfectly clean, dust on things, but it was big and updated which was nice! Overall, would recommend and return there myself if traveling took me to the area again!

Beautiful property for couples or singles. Would not recommend for children. Charged 7.5 pounds for each 1 1/2 and 3 1/2 year olds for breakfast. Location is good, food was good. Our room on the top floor might be a bit hot in warm weather. Opening window let in mosquitos.

Lovely hotel and restaurant but the walls were paper thin so had a very bad experience trying to sleep. The room was also pretty small so felt like the value was a bit off. Could hear conversations clearly and cleaning team and front desk were especially loud early both days. Lovely people though, and if you were just going to eat it’s a great spot.

A lovely hotel situated in a good location for exploring the Cotswolds. Superior room was excellent. A nice size with a double shower and bath. Bed was comfy. Hotel restaurant had a good choice and food was of a very good standard. Breakfast particularly set us up well for the day. Hotel staff were also welcoming and very helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

We had room 5 and it was absolutely roasting. Be prepared to sweat a lot in the sun. We had a fire alarm at 2.15am and nobody had any idea who was in charge and what was happening, very poor from the site. The best thing about the venue was the food, it was incredible and well worth it. The venue is beautiful if you are tall be careful of the low beams. Few head bangs were had.

A delightful place to stay and eat. Room was very clean and bed was one of the most comfortable I have slept in. Enjoyed dinner for two in the attached restaurant. Really good choice of food. Service excellent. All the team working here were friendly and very welcoming. We will definitely return.

Amazing location and beautiful property. The food at the restaurant was delicious. Elliot, the bar keep, provided great service and local travel suggestions. I would certainly return, hidden gem!

Perhaps this is a nice hotel, but I can't attest to their quality. However, I can review their lack of communication. After paying up front, when my itinerary changed due to circumstances beyond my control, they wouldn't communicate with me...no replies to email enquiries. To be fair, I did receive a phone call from a staff member to say they didn't receive my emails, and it would be forwarded to the manger, but I never heard from them again. So, a cautionary tale that you will need to pay up front at this establishment and you will not hear from them again if, in this world of uncertainty, your plans do happen to change. Besides, there are so many other lovely hotels in the area to choose from that will exhibit more hospitality than this establishment.

We had room 5 and it was absolutely roasting. Be prepared to sweat a lot in the sun. We had a fire alarm at 2.15am and nobody had any idea who was in charge and what was happening, very poor from the site. The best thing about the venue was the food, it was incredible and well worth it. The venue is beautiful if you are tall be careful of the low beams. Few head bangs were had.

Could not recommend it more. Picturesque hotel, great scenery, short drive from loads of villages and things to do - food is amazing, the best roast I’ve ever had. Staff super friendly and accommodating.

The grounds are absolutely beautiful! Good location for heading out to explore the Cotswolds area. The restaurant was exceptional, especially breakfast. The room wasn’t perfectly clean, dust on things, but it was big and updated which was nice! Overall, would recommend and return there myself if traveling took me to the area again!

A lovely hotel situated in a good location for exploring the Cotswolds. Superior room was excellent. A nice size with a double shower and bath. Bed was comfy. Hotel restaurant had a good choice and food was of a very good standard. Breakfast particularly set us up well for the day. Hotel staff were also welcoming and very helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

Likes Good location, lovely room, plenty of space, quirky. Dog friendly, although limited to the bar area re dining and breakfast Eat in the bar 1st night food very good, good menu choices. Some good walks from the hotel that are circular, range from 5km upwards Dislikes Busy wedding venue, we were there 3 nights and 2 weddings were on over 2 days, so it did feel like the restaurant area got a higher priority at breakfast re service levels, as often in the bar area (because of dog) it did take a while re service. Buffet elements needed filling up a bit more frequently as well. Breakfast menu had a good choice, good ingredients, well presented and quantity wise all good, the thing that let it down was 'warmth' of the food i.e. a bit luke warm, plates weren't hot, even though cooked fresh, as if it had stood for a while post being served. Also certain younger members of staff need to learn a little more around customer service in general, and at least find a smile!

We recently stayed at the Frogmill for one night, paying £293 pounds including breakfast. Check-in was warm and friendlv. and we were shown to a lovelv room with beautiful farmhouse decor, a gorgeous bathroom, and great water pressure. The pub downstairs had a great buzz too. That said, a few niggles stood out. Only one sugar sachet was provided for tea. the bathroom radiator was dusty, and the ironing board cover was stained. The biggest letdown was the night. With the recent hot weather. the room felt stifling and the air conditioning repeatedly showed an error code It didn't work despite several reset attempts. Sleep quality was poor, as the double bed was 2 singles pushed together that drifted apart during the night and the pillows were extremely soft. Not really supportive. We couldn't find a hairdrver. which you`d normally expect at this level. Breakfast was pleasant and service was prompt, with nice touches like cappuccinos and lattes now included but the food portion was a bit small. At checkout. the team acknowledqed the AC fault as intermittent and apologized. with this issue combined with the others, it didn't quite feel like value for money. The setting is peaceful, parking is ample, and there is plenty to like. but with a room rate closer to £200-£250 pounds, it might have felt fairer. Overall, I'd say it was a stay with real potential, but too many maintenance and comfort issues for the price.
