Motel 6-Salina, KS

Skip this one. Room was dark and dingy. One person tried to shower but no water would drain in the tiny shower making it unusable. All other amendments such as ice machine were out of service. Not a good experience

The upkeep is horrible. Half the parking area lights were out. The unit is rusting and falling apart. The canvas canopy over the office entrance was torn and flapping in the wind. The front desk Indian staff person had the personality of a dry river stone. The place is just simply not keep well and the management should be removed!! Shame on Motel 6 corporate to allow the appearance of one of there motels go to waste as this place has!

Pool has not been in service for 2 years, but advertised with a pool. . Ice machine broken. Property run down.

Called the number listed for this property on the web site 13 times with no answer, trying to confirm there was an outdoor pool as the amenities list and photos showed. My making the 180-mile trip was dependent on this. Decided to trust the web info and book. Upon arrival found pool unavailable. As to unanswered phone calls, was told there is no way to contact the hotel by phone. Online reservations only.

I needed floor on ground level and was put on the second. The stairs are rusted and in bad shape and a rusty piece went through my daughter’s shoe into her foot. Room was ok, but really sketchy area.

Fairly clean at first glance. Floors are wood and slippery. Walls were dirty. Towels had holes in them. The new roll of toilet paper was stained and had hair on it. Half of the staff doesn’t speak English. Some are friendly some are not. We kept having to get new key cards. Multiple times a day. Lots of bugs around the property. Flies everywhere. Spiders and other bugs. No ice. Hardly anything in the one vending machine. Pool hasn’t worked in years. But it’s full of water and smells absolutely horrible. It does have one small washer and two small dryers. You can follow the time and pay using your phone which is so nice. The one dryer you couldn’t change the heat setting on it and I told the employee but they didn’t care and didn’t even care to even put a note on it. That little room was also filled with bugs. The motel was pretty quiet. Just smells horrible around with the nasty pool water and being right next to the highway you’ve got the nasty ditch water right there also. The lawn isn’t kept mowed either so that makes it difficult if you have animals that need taken out to go potty. The one side is a giant parking lot and the other side is mostly parking with a grassy area so keep that in mind when getting your room. Also the water pressure was absolutely terrible and the rooms with bathtubs the shower head is only like 5 feet tall so be aware. The other rooms the shower area is sooo small. And there is nowhere to put your clothes. No dressers or anything of the sort.

It did bother me that both the pool and the ice machine were out of service, in June.

The staff was friendly, and quickly addressed my concerns when the door to my room would not stay shut/locked. The outdoor pool was out of service. My new room smelled like an ashtray. But it was very affordable and i would stay again, despite the beds being slightly uncomfortable and the dead beetles everywhere.

Parking was good. Place.was.quiet, easy to get to. Great value.

Motel 6 advertises a pool, but the pool is closed and appears to have never been opened for the season. The staff was not friendly and seemed annoyed to have to help customers check in. Room was not terribly dirty but the cleanliness left a lot to be desired. It’s about what you expect for a cheap interstate motel.

The first room was dirty and full of flies,2nd room was also dirty, but not as bad as the first one. Top blanket had holes in it.Lady at the desk was very friendly. Bought Lysol and fly spray.

Room was dirty, floor not swept, used bar of soap in shower, Walls had yellow streaks,and had flies and spiders. Air conditioner filters was caked with lint.

It was a passing place halfway to our journey. But they only left 2 small bars of soap and two towels for 4 people.When I went to ask them for gel or shampoo to take a shower, they told us that they did not give that service!!! How do you shower then customers? I have traveled a lot and nothing like it ever happened to me.I don't recommend it.It was also noticeable that the sheets had not changed and the bathrooms were dirty. The toilet had toilet paper and pee inside, they hadn't flushed. Incredible..

The room was not clean. It had a weird oder. There were a lot of flies that i had to get rid of before i unpacked.

Clean hotel, friendly staff

While the bed and pillows were comfortable there weren’t enough pillows. The floor was covered in hair, there were cobwebs in all the corners and there were cockroaches.

Roaches, mold on bathroom ceiling, door lock busted off.

Staff was friendly and the room was decent. There were a lot of flies and the bathroom was kind of rough.

I always look at the reviews, but the ones that were on this were all good. Had to ask for a different room, people were moving out that had been there for over a year. They had worked there and was ask to leave. I didn’t want to be next to that, so I ask for a different room. We never went in the first room, but the second room was not clean, dead bugs on the floor, cob webs in the night stand, the walls were dirty. There was no tub, shower only. The floor of the shower was brown. Spelt some water on the floor and used a towel to wipe it up and the towel was brown. I don’t think anything ever got wiped down. We got there late and were so tired we just slept on top of sheets and quick shower and left early. Will not stay there ever again. You get what you pay for.

It was fine, it’s dated and the balcony is rusting. I tried to call several times to let them know we would be a late check in but no one ever answered the phone. The hot water at 9pm was lukewarm.

It’s a place to stay for the night , the staff is friendly ask for a room not facing the truck stop it’s a lot less noisy

The door was difficult to open. Lavatory drain was slow draining.

The ac/heater didn’t turn on. I slept inside an icebox room and when I showered in the morning the room was colder. Wish the heater worked. And hope I don’t get sick now

First we never saw anywhere that they collect a $50 deposit from everyone. And unless it’s cash they do not refund it (after an inspection) for up to 7 days. The door was so hard to open my husband had to do it. The wash rags were so dingey they looked dirty. Never got hot water, only barely warm. The coverlet had holes and stains on it. But the bed was surprisingly comfortable and the sheets were clean. The person next to us played his TV on high all night until 6am. Miserable. If you are desperate you can endure it but not recommended otherwise.

Noisy heating unit,bed seemed hard.

I usually have good experiences with Motel 6. However, despite a friendly front counter, this hotel had internet that couldn't even load my email (and I had a business call in the morning! I had to use my phone's hot spot), it had a shower that was so dingy I chose not to shower, and a lumpy bed. I've never encountered a bed I would describe as "lumpy" but now I have. It is also right over the highway, so there is a good amount of highway noise. The bed and shower may have just been my room. This place does get good overall reviews, which is why I chose it, but the internet was simply a fundamental issue.

I requested a gound floor. When i checked in at 10pm the first night she gabe me my room key and i wqs on thr 2nd floor. (There were 3 cars in thr parking lot) I asked if they didn't have a ground floor avaliable. I was told they like to put people who are staying for 7 days on the top floor. WTH When i got to my room I had trouble getting the door open then i could get the deadbolt to disingage so i could shut my door. I had to call down to the front desk and was told i had to jingle thr handle to get the dead bolr to retract. That did work, however when i tried to leave the next morning I couldn't get the door to open, it was stuck, again. Tbis went on for 2 days and finally the door took a crap and wouldn't open at all with anyones key, not even the maid's key. They changed batteries and forced the door open but the keys still wouldn't work so them moved me to a 1st floor. After brings everything down stairs to the new room, that door to the new room wouldn't work, it was so stuck I couldn't shove open thr door even using my weight and shoulder into the door. They moved me to a room on the back side. I finally told them if they are having trouble putting me into a double bed room, just give me a single bed room and they did. That room hasn't been stayed in in for a while. There were flies everywhere, alive and dead, the bathroom door had a notch out if it so it could close but you had to lift the toilet seat up to close it, it didn't have a lid. Then bugs

Check in was terrible. Stood around for 10-15 minutes, kept ringing the bell and no one came to the window. Finally decided to call and out comes a lady to answer the phone, then as soon as we finally got assisted, about 4 workers came out from the back

Staff was awesome. Building needs complete renovation.

Room was clean but old. Desk lady was professional and nice. Outside the hotel was ok. We faced the parking lot, only stayed one night. It was quiet at night. Nice

Location to highway is good. Office attendant was polite and courteous. Very noisy around complex.

convenient location and economical prices.

I was given a room at the far end of the motel where at least 4 rooms seemed to be lived in long term. The people in those rooms played their car music systms off and on for hours with a very deep loud base. Lots of gong in and out and up the stairs. I left mid evening to go to another hotel. On reading the reviews later, many people have compained of the same issues. There were no other overnighters when I left. Why must single night people be put right in the middle of long stay people?

Convenient place for short stay when traveling across the state.

Room was clean except for a dead roach in bathroom & spider web on outside windowsill; liked that there was a Popeye's nearby (except that it was closed temporarily while we were there);more quiet than the motel across from the truck stop that we stayed at last visit; Most importantly, the main reason we chose motel 6 was because of no pet fees; liked the tile floor; would recommend provided Kleenex tissue though.

No kleenex, no coffee pot, no clock, 2 bath towels for 2 people, bed hard as a rock, room was full of flys, holes in the bedspreads, curtain misdomg hooks

Smelled of smoke and something else we can’t decide what. We checked beds no bugs we see Tub was nasty had moldy wash cloth left in tub IHOP next door closed
