Grand Canyon Inn and Motel - South Rim Entrance

The hot tub was broken at the time of our visit. I hope it gets fixed soon. For the price we paid, and the closeness the Inn is from the Grand Canyon, I think it was work the stay. We also had breakfast at the restaurant on the property. It was pretty tasty. Overall, 4/5 rating

Prop is a good location for visiting Grand Canyon. Was a little unsure if it was going to be well maintained or clean, my room was as clean and prepared as I would expect in any hotel. AC worked great. Cons: when I called ahead to tell them I was going to be a little late the phone communication with the person I spoke to was very poor. She didn’t speak clearly and after I told her why I was calling she said ok bye, and I said ‘wait don’t you want my name?’ but she mumbled something and hung up. Fortunately when I got there later I had no problem checking in but when I asked to confirm how late I would be able to order food she miscommunicated the details… the restaurant closes at 9 and the bar closes at 10, she said that I would still be able to order food at the bar until 10, which turned out to not be accurate, because when I came back down to the bar around 9:30 I was told they don’t serve any food. In fairness I believe I got an email before I checked in that explained this but I was on the road not reading emails so I based it off what the employee told me directly. And there are NO OTHER OPTIONS FOR FOOD, even snacks, within a 20 minutes of this place at night. Overall a good hotel just had a poor communication experience.

Restaurant was a 5 star for food and service. The actual rooms were ok and it would pay to have more than just cable. Ideally Direct TV. Most people would have had to drive for 3+ hours to get there and would probably just want to relax for a bit once they arrive. Pool also looked like it had been out of order for a while. Distance to Grand Canyon and Tusayan are reasonable.

They advertised a pool but did not have a usable pool. They advertised Wi-Fi but their Wi-Fi was down from the time we checked in until we checked out. They told a member of our party they would bring extra pillows to the room and they did not.

One bed was broken, other bed was badly worn down. No exterior lights in parking lot for building C. No key required to enter building C. No TV remote. No one working when I checked out at 7am. Room size was good.

Juan, our check-in clerk was terrific. Our room was very comfortable. Ample parking in a well maintained lot. The TV only had 4 dreadful channels. The plumbing needed a little love.

The room was great! However, the pool was out of order which was not mentioned on the listing of the property. Ice machines did not work anywhere around the property either.

I was told internet will be available by evening but internet was not available. Outdoor pool was dry. Bathroom tiles were coming out. Very limited dining option. It looks like renovations are going on.

The room was large but seemed to be needing maintenance. It was the only budget friendly option close to Grand Canyon. The restaurant closed early so we picked up food by the south rim.

Old property, seriously needs a major overhaul. The bath fixtures barely worked and the patch fix on the bottom of the tub is not good. Hole in the window screen, dead crickets on floor one live one under the pillow and in the tub. Door would barely shut with a shove and had no weather stripping. RM 105. The pillows were nice, mattress fair.

One of the worst properties I ever lived. Blood stains/other dirts on shower curtain, super dirty bathroom exhaust and AC. Clear floor noise from upstairs.

Terrible experience. Dirty room (spiderwebs, dirty table and dirty towels), tv didn’t work, remote didn’t work, broken shower, AC shut off every 20 minutes, fire alarm kept chirping every minute, parking lot has huge sections missing (almost need a 4x4 to get in and out of property)… they are renting rooms at the crappy motel across the street but advertising the nice Inn next to the restaurant. Horrible service; I called to try and get some issues addressed and they forgot me on the phone for 12 minutes; when I hung up and called back; I couldn’t get through because she left the phone off the hook. Stay away! Stay in Williams or get closer to the Grand Canyon and pay the extra $30 for the nice hotel just outside the park’s entrance I would expect all this crap from a $50 motel, not a $140/night inn

Very disappointed in this property. Toilet bowl stained. Shower marked and not particularly clean. Hairs on the sheets. Was unclear that this room was so far away from the main hotel… different carpark. Extremely small. Looks and feels like it’s out of a 70’s movie… Check in… I don’t understand, when there’s a girl sat at the desk, why it has to be via a video link. Not at all welcoming and didn’t make us feel as though we would have help if needed.

This motel was extremely disappointing. I felt like I needed to shower after leaving - The hallway/stairway leading up to the room was absolutely filthy. Dirty floors and garbage in the window wells. - I called the front desk to see if someone could come and fix my TV that wasn’t working properly and they said they would send someone. They didn’t. The TV had about 4 working channels that weren’t even watchable. - The window was broken in my room. - There were stains in the bathroom and all over the surfaces in the room. - The door to the hotel didn’t close properly which made me feel unsafe being a solo female traveler. - The mattresses were worn and had holes in them. - When I went to take a shower, the water was coming out of the shower nozzle and bath nozzle. I lost hot water 5 mins. The only good thing was the location after leaving the Grand Canyon, comfy bed and an amazing food truck in the parking lot.

Checkin was a kiosk with a person off-site and the key didn't drop from the machine so I had to go to a person anyway, huge waste of time. Bathroom tub was gross, and when you go to turn on the bath, the shower also comes on simultaneously and tub starts filling up, what looked like mold all over outside of the tub. It also shook the whole wall turning on the water like the faucet and handles were going to all out. Restaurant was closed. Pool was green with vegetation living in it. Middle of the night there was a tick in the bathroom, and in the morning packing up, there were 2 roaches crawling across the floor. My little niece is afraid of bugs and was terrified to use the bathroom and fortunately, didn't see us step on the last roach. One bed had a blood stain so we slept just under the comforter on top of the sheets. One lamp near the bed was wobbly and didn't work. Would not recommend. We won't be back. Only advantage is how close it is to the Grand Canyon if you want to get there early the next morning.

The picture on the website do not match what it really looks like. The room was bet up and dirty. There was holes in the bathroom walls that they just painted over the hole also the bath tub was dirty. All furniture in the room was dirty damaged and out dated. Beside the smell. I left the room with in 10 minutes of seeing this room and got an other hotel in Williams az.

Check in was fast and easy even with my service dog. But the room I was assigned to had not be cleaned at all, so I had to get back to registration, they assigned me the room next door. That one was cleaned and had an envelope for tips for the cleaning. The cleaning staff had hand written a note saying 'please money'. You would think the same person is cleaning the rooms next to each other. What kind of cleaners forgetting rooms to clean and then ask for money in other rooms?? No way I am leaving a penny tip with that attitude and quality.

Black hairs on mattress protector. Hall smells of mold and dirty. Cigarette butts litter property. Went to another hotel and ate the cost of this one.

Room is huge and has very stylish wooden furniture. Very good for families or group of friends. It is a good (and significantly less expensive) option if your destination is Great Canyon. But there is not much around it.

Property was good for the one night I wanted to stay there. But the walls are paper thin and the buildings floors show their age.

Pool was closed for renovation and i wish i received an email stating that. I did pay for that service. The TV in the room was broken. Wifi service was very weak. Tried to plug in a phone charger andbit was turning on and off a wall lamp (questionable electrical wiring).

No cable tv and cant stream phone to tv. Bring roku stick if you need tv channels via HDMI

Our room was clean and the bed was comfy. It was nice there’s a mini fridge and coffee maker but no microwave and hairdryer in our room although we managed without them. We liked that it’s only a short drive to The Grand Canyon.

Nice room with a comfortable bed, but quite noisy. It sounded like the upstairs neighbours were going to fall through the roof, not particularly conducive to sleep. The cold tap was hot and the hot tap was cold in the shower as well, and the coffee maker didn’t work.

Great big rooms with log furniture.

A great location, with basic amenities. Decent food at the bar in the evening and good local beers. Marked down due to noise from upstairs, not due to guests but just thin floors. Recommend to ask for a top floor room!

Everything was super except for the TV reception, which wasn't very good.

The virtual check in was kind of weird and impersonal. TV didn’t have any channels except the hotel advertising channel. Called the front desk and they said they were working on it. Thankfully the internet was great and I was able to pull up Netflix on my phone. Nicely decorated rooms! Very clean!

The room was ok. My wife and I thought it was cute and it was clean. The only thing was there was no phones and the tv was terrible. I called early in the morning to get more cream and sugar and it was never delivered. I had to go to the office that night to get it myself so I could have some got the next morning. The only other thing was the check in process. We head to talk to someone as soon as we walked into the foyer through a kiosk and she was very hard to understand. I had to read the captions which wasn’t easy because of the time of day the sun was beating down on it. A little more attention to customer service and it would’ve been 4 stars instead of 3.

Everyone was so nice!! Restaurant staff was exceptional, and very friendly. Shop on property was really cool!! Route 66-ish. Loved the property and staff. Only suggestion would be to freshen up landscaping, but it was the very end of winter, so maybe just not done yet?

Checkin was unpleasant due to very impersonal machine in doorway entrance which was poorly lit and signed. When sharing this with girl at front desk she shrugged it off. Room was disappointing. No place to hang anything. Entrance door had huge gap on bottom. TV picture quality was terrible and only 3 or 4 channels. Walkways leading to rooms were dirty and had a curious white powder strewn about. Grounds unkempt. On the positive side, the restaurant food and service was excellent.

I was disappointed. First, they lost my reservation. The kiosk clown said he didnt see any reservation in my name. But strangely enough my credit card was definitely charged for 2 days. I was so exhausted when i got there. The finding out they lost my reservation, i reluctantly purchased another room. In the bunkhouse. The room was small. But that was fine. But the bed. It felt like one of those 1960's spring mattresses. And the ac didnt work very well at all. Ok, we'll work through the sweaty night and have a good breakfast in the morning, and all will be right. Nope. The restaurant wasnt opened. It was supposed to be. But it wasn't. Very disappointing. The fact that there wasn't an attendant on duty, and had to talk to some clown, in a different country, was almost insulting. No. It was insulting. You dont have enough respect for the American consumer to meet face to face to take their money? Shame on you.

The woman running the front desk in the evenings was very helpful and personable.

We stipped over on our way to the Grand Canyon. The place is older by clean, very affordable and the staff is very caring and accommodating. They did their best to help us and we're very quick and professional. I would stay there again. Very impressed with the service.

We arrived to a weird kiosk machine with a person talking to you - it was startling. the doors are both supposed to open/close and they have only 1 so its a bottleneck. We used counter to check in not weird indian from a strange place. the room was gross smelled like old alcohol and bad feet. they changed us - great. then k cup coffee maker didnt work, they brought a ground coffee maker with no ground coffee, then they deactivated our room keys... Its sad - this used to be a great place now its not well.kept and service lacks. the pool was closed the restaurant wasnt good and was expensive. too bad the original owner sold it. they still own the gas stations on both sides.

Excellent nice and quiet place! Very conveniently located to the south of the GC South Rim.

Budget friendly hotel, roughly 30 mins from the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. Has a bar indoor. Gas station really close. Antique cars close by. Across from prehistoric RV Park and the rock shop is a MUST see. All of the metal art is gorgeous. Several photo ops. Rooms were decorated nicely. Comfy beds. Rustic decor. Big window. Limited TV channels. Stair way and walkway on 2nd floor is a little run down and the 2nd floor hallway has a huge soft spot. We didn't really bother us, as we were lucky to have scored a deal so cheap on Expedia, especially this close to the Grand Canyon. Totally worth it. Rooms were cleaned quickly, we found a few hairs, jewelry and medication from the previous guest. We had 3 guest and only 2 towels. We brought our own. Could use a more detailed housekeeping inside and outside. Overall, had a good nights sleep in a comfy bed. Would stay again.

We stayed here because wanted to go to the Grand Canyon. We stayed here once before a couple of years ago, but didn’t remember what was that “great hotel we stayed that made our experience better”. I’m so glad I found it again by accident and immediately booked. Really great hotel. Cheap, very clean, very close to the GC, rustic looking, felt safe. There are some apple trees right in the back of the hotel. All in all, my go-to for the GC adventure. We also brought in our family from Puerto Rico to stay and visit the GC for the first time. Not choosing to stay and hi-end hotels that would detract from the organic experience of the visit to this town and park.

Definitely enjoyed the rustic western theme! Got very lucky finding this affordable gem just south of the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. Perfect spot. And cute nostalgic Flintstone Dino park right across the street, too.

Small tables and chairs outside near the parking lot was a nice idea. The restaurant dinner steaks were juicy, and the cheesecake was on point. Our server Juan was excellent! The bar offers great service and good drink selection. Room was clean, hot water, beds were comfortable, quiet at night, and nice coffee maker with mini fridge. Gas station and market nearby. Property has iconic western art and exhibits all around.

This is a good choice if you’re heading to the Grand Canyon. It’s reasonably priced (compared to Grand Canyon Village locations). Room was clean (mostly; bathtub wasn’t in very good condition) and comfortable. Beds were very comfy. There’s a restaurant right on the property - okay food, overpriced.

Fast, easy check in, spacious room, super comfy bed, lots of surface area ( counter space.) The restaurant is excellent, the breakfast is the best we’ve had anywhere! This is our second time staying here and if we come back to the Grand Canyon, this will definitely be my choice for accommodation.

Very friendly lady at the front desk. Super nice guys at the restaurant also, that had excellent food! Recommended for anyone visiting the Grand Canyon if you don't mind the 35 minute drive.

Location and proximity to the Grand Canyon was food. The hotel restaurant and lounge were good, homely, and rustic. Fairly priced and food was very good. I did not like that there is virtually nothing open after 9 or 10PM unless you travel 30 miles south to Williams.

The desk staff and restaurant staff were very friendly and the food was delicious. Recycling containers would be helpful.
