Very nice little hotel well situated in the heart of Dunkerque. Good facilities and good breakfast with freshly made eggs.

Unfortunately, our stay was extremely disappointing. Our room was unbearably hot during the 35°C weather. I appreciate that not every hotel has air conditioning, but there wasn’t even a fan provided. The room became almost impossible to sleep in. We were travelling with our 19-month-old toddler, who couldn’t get to sleep until after midnight because of the heat and has since developed a heat rash. I’m also 35 weeks pregnant, which made the conditions even more difficult. The only way to make the room remotely bearable was to keep the windows open. Unfortunately, there was a party nearby that continued until around 3am, meaning we had to choose between unbearable heat or excessive noise. While I appreciate the party itself wasn’t the hotel’s fault, a simple fan would at least have allowed us to close the windows for some of the night. Most disappointing of all is that I contacted the hotel directly to give them the opportunity to address these concerns before leaving a public review, but they chose not to respond. Good customer service isn’t about never having problems—it’s about how you deal with them. Sadly, on this occasion, the hotel failed on both counts.
