Panania Hotel Sydney

Checkin not the best, done at the bar/restaurant but only after trying to locate staff. Staff were friendly but she walked away with my ID & checked me in, out of sight. Fines for setting off smoke alarm in the rooms was unrealistic considering the smoke alarm is right next to the shower with a notice on bathroom door “keep window open to prevent setting off alarm.” The window is small. Smell in the room was musty from the carpet, shower section needs to be replaced very old. Bed sheets were clean and bed was ok. Food in their restaurant is fairly priced and tastes great. Right next to the Train Station can get noisy throughout the night if you are a light sleeper.

I booked this hotel for one of our drivers, booked and paid for with company credit card. I sent the driver the full itinerary, he arrived and they refused to let him stay because he did not have a physical card on him, they also refused to let him order a meal. I book hotels regularly for drivers and have never had this happen to any on them. Absolutely disgusting, they did not even have the decency to contact us to verify and or sort it out. I am still waiting for a phone call back from them this morning as their phone goes straight to answering machine. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

The facilities at the pub and near are excellent. I would suggest getting a room with shower. The accommodation is very basis but ok. The location and ammenities nearby are what makes this a good place to stay

They need to spend more time in the bathroom because it was disgusting if I could show you photos of it terrible it smelt very musty and I’m an asthmatic so I coughed all night. It could do with a better mattress facilities wasn’t good at all. We will never stay there again but I have to say that the food there was absolutely beautiful. the room needs to do a bit more in the room get rid of the mole that is in the bathroom we stayed in room 13 disgusting.

Staff were great and helpful, room cleanliness was extremely substandard. Ensuite bathroom felt like a public toilet. Carpets felt grimy. Bedding had blood and large yellow stains. “Shared living space” is two chairs and a coffee table in a hallway. Hallway smelt like smoke. Booked for two nights and ended up leaving after the first. ‘The Mill hotel’ is only a 5 minute drive away and around the same price, absolutely a steal for the price. If you’re wanting to stay in that area I highly suggest staying at the Mill instead. Honestly sleeping in the train station right next to the motel would be cleaner and give you a more peaceful sleep than the Panania Hotel.
