Great check in & parking. Cabins opposite reception very convenient. Quirky room( ours was Pirate themed).large clean Bathroom. Balcony was quite slippery,( no safety signs) water scalding hot (there is a warning sign) bunk beds too small for older teenagers.

Great little place for a night away with kids, basic but comfortable. The thing we loved was the little courtyard with plenty of tabkes and chairs outside the cabins where you could see your child playing on the play equipment whilst chilling. Only stayed in the basic cabin and didnt upgrade to the princess rooms but from what we could see, it was a much better set up in these to be able to keep a close watch on you child. Made it a relaxing stay and would defo use again.

Stayed in a converted container, boys loved bunk beds, shower was a bit hot. There was evening entertainment in the club house - toasting marshmallows etc. Reasonably priced - would stay again.

👍We were greeted by a lovely receptionist, the room had everything we needed plus extra like microwave and fridge. We were offered the option of food, able to go to the lounge/bar area to watch a film or take a DVD. Bonus of a free ticket for our son for the theme park as it was closed being out of season. 👎Only surface cleaned, black scum around the plug and taps and spider webs. The thermostat in the room was set at 19 degrees and because we arrived bang on check in time the room hadn't be pre warmed. High up in the Peaks in February we were cold. The heaters are locked and controlled by the reception. I went to reception and asked if we could have it set for warmer and she was very accommodating and said it was reset. We went out to get food and on return it was warm. I then had a bath. Later my son wanted a bath but no hot water but an emersion type heater you had to press to boost it. We had been told about this but I never thought in a hotel this would happen after one bath especially in a room that sleeps 5. Basically it would need to heat for an hour between baths so went to bed. When we woke up at 8.30am the heater was cold and was set at 15 degrees. I tried to ring the reception 4 times through the website as no room phone but no pick up. In the end we just got dressed and left. There was hot water but to cold for a bath. At 110 pounds a night I did not expect to be controlled on baths, room temperature or be cold. For this reson I wouldn't recommend.

We stayed in the new Willows block, which was really lovely. It still feels very new and was very clean - and the bed was very comfortable. My daughter was over the moon with her bunk bed over the main double bed, which was such a lovely touch. All the staff we met were so friendly and when I booked I hadn’t realised there would be entertainment in the evening. There were games/a disco on from 7pm, marshmallow toasting (although you have to buy a bag of marshmallows to take part) from 8pm and a film was put on for the kids from 9pm, which was the Lion King when we were there. The only downside was there was nowhere to buy breakfast from (and very limited options in the theme park if you go on to spend the day there). The bathroom was also very small, which didn’t bother me because it had everything we needed but I can imagine larger guests might have an issue.

Stayed in a Wuzard Room at Explorers Retreat which was perfect fir our granddaughter. Really well decorated and special. Breakfast selection was limited but reasonably priced. Accessibility to Gulliers was perfect 4 min walk.

All of the staff are very friendly and helpful. They go the extra mile to make your stay a good one. Nothing is too much trouble. Gullivers Resort is a stones throw from the town and Heights of Abraham. I would recommend a stay here.

Fairly basic room (made from a shipping container) but really quite functional, clean and comfortable. The bar/reception and kids entertainment area was smaller than I expected (compared to Gulliver's Valley in Rotherham), but it was pleasant and sociable, the staff were really friendly, and the kids enjoyed the entertainment. And the theme park is great, plenty to do, lovely surroundings. Food a bit basic but decent options in the main hotel restaurant. Even more basic with fewer options in the theme park (and nothing healthy).

Booked to stay for 2 nights but checked out after the 1st night. The room was damp, dirty and smelt. Even tried to air the room out with opening the window. The description of the room said that it was sound proof which is not the case as we were woke up at 7am by children kicking a ball against our door. The staff member that checked us in was very helpful and friendly and same with the staff member the checked us out. Would not stay again.

Stayed in the pirate themed room and there was a terrible smell in the room. Everytime we left and returned it hit you as you walked in. Dont know if it was stale cigarette, damp or a mixture of both. Clean on the surface but very very dusty and dirty if you look closely. Left a drink on the side for a short will and the dust from the bedside light had dropped and was floating on the top. Moved the bed looking for the wifes earing and there was so much crap amongst the thick layer of dust under there. Including a tv remote if one was lost (room 1), wipes, pencil crayons and pop bottle lid. The balcony was covered in leafs and debri from the trees. There isnt any shops in Matlock bath so if you need anything make sure you take it with you. 4 tea bag for a room of 4 for 2 nights wasn't going to cut it. For £319.70 it was very overpriced

Very impressed with the accommodation, the beds were comfortable and the rooms well maintained. However, I would ask that the cleaning crew look at the soap scum around the shower seals.

The hotel staff were friendly but the accomodation is in serious need of updating and cleaning, we had little bugs in the fridge and the carpet was absolutely disgusting, a carpet cleaner would help if it cannot be replaced. the place is fab for matlock bath and we had a good day in the park but having a separate access for the park would be good as you have to walk up or down to access the park but wouldnt stay in the accomodation again.

Yes very.Room on Wiind in the Willows theme. Bed soft and room far too hot. Found small sirt of termites in the bedding and was itichy in the morning, with bites developing the next day.

Stayed in a pirate room and the theme was great and everything was decorated brilliantly. Plenty of storage space, small but sufficient room with great space saving and fun bunks for kids. Only issue was the cleanliness. There was food crumbs on the kids room ladder, sweet wrappers down the side of the shelf and chewing gum stuck to the lamp. That put a bit of a negative spin on it but if it had been cleaned properly then it's a great place to stay.

Amazing location. Quirky hotel but the cleanliness in our room was abysmal. Didn't stay for food as we went down into Matlock Bath which was in walking distance. The staff deserve full praise, they were really nice and attentive.

We were pleasantly surprised with Gulliver's Kingdom since we have never heard of it. For a really great price we had a lovely 2 nights in the princess-themed room with amazing views of Matlock Bath. There were activities in the evening for the kids. They absolutely loved it

The room itself was quite hot, the only way to resolve this was by opening the balcony door, which let in a lot of bugs and insects at night. It would be better if there was a fan or air conditioner instead. Another thing was that there was sometimes a bad smell coming from the boiler or around that area. Apart from thoss small problems, the room was very nice and clean. We enjoyed staying on the property.

Was a lovely little room. Clean and cozy. Down points are that room was too hot with no means to cool it down and no spoons or stirrers to make the drinks. Would deffo recommend but if your like me and get hot too quick then ask for a room with aircon.

Great check in & parking. Cabins opposite reception very convenient. Quirky room( ours was Pirate themed).large clean Bathroom. Balcony was quite slippery,( no safety signs) water scalding hot (there is a warning sign) bunk beds too small for older teenagers.

Had a call day before to ask what time we was checking in and give us useful information about the area and what to do. Lady at check in was super nice gave us more tips on the area. Room was warm and clean when arrived. Had kettle and microwave and a mini fridge, no cutlery or plates but that was fine with us. If walking down to the town, it is a very steep hill and takes 15 minutes for the unfit lol. Overall good stay and would stay again.

When picking up my room key the manager said id underpaid for my room so charged me an extra £16.75 which I duly paid. Having them checked my bank in the morning I could see Id clearly paid the corrext amount. I went to ask for a refund and they said they couldn't at 8am as no manager was on the premises..

Very compact, no chairs, bed very low, no wardrobe or hanging space. No cooked breakfasts. Receptionist very reluctant to give cold breakfast in the morning and strongly recommends getting it in Matlock Bath town centre.

We were pleasantly surprised with Gulliver's Kingdom since we have never heard of it. For a really great price we had a lovely 2 nights in the princess-themed room with amazing views of Matlock Bath. There were activities in the evening for the kids. They absolutely loved it

Amazing location. Quirky hotel but the cleanliness in our room was abysmal. Didn't stay for food as we went down into Matlock Bath which was in walking distance. The staff deserve full praise, they were really nice and attentive.

👍We were greeted by a lovely receptionist, the room had everything we needed plus extra like microwave and fridge. We were offered the option of food, able to go to the lounge/bar area to watch a film or take a DVD. Bonus of a free ticket for our son for the theme park as it was closed being out of season. 👎Only surface cleaned, black scum around the plug and taps and spider webs. The thermostat in the room was set at 19 degrees and because we arrived bang on check in time the room hadn't be pre warmed. High up in the Peaks in February we were cold. The heaters are locked and controlled by the reception. I went to reception and asked if we could have it set for warmer and she was very accommodating and said it was reset. We went out to get food and on return it was warm. I then had a bath. Later my son wanted a bath but no hot water but an emersion type heater you had to press to boost it. We had been told about this but I never thought in a hotel this would happen after one bath especially in a room that sleeps 5. Basically it would need to heat for an hour between baths so went to bed. When we woke up at 8.30am the heater was cold and was set at 15 degrees. I tried to ring the reception 4 times through the website as no room phone but no pick up. In the end we just got dressed and left. There was hot water but to cold for a bath. At 110 pounds a night I did not expect to be controlled on baths, room temperature or be cold. For this reson I wouldn't recommend.

We stayed in the new Willows block, which was really lovely. It still feels very new and was very clean - and the bed was very comfortable. My daughter was over the moon with her bunk bed over the main double bed, which was such a lovely touch. All the staff we met were so friendly and when I booked I hadn’t realised there would be entertainment in the evening. There were games/a disco on from 7pm, marshmallow toasting (although you have to buy a bag of marshmallows to take part) from 8pm and a film was put on for the kids from 9pm, which was the Lion King when we were there. The only downside was there was nowhere to buy breakfast from (and very limited options in the theme park if you go on to spend the day there). The bathroom was also very small, which didn’t bother me because it had everything we needed but I can imagine larger guests might have an issue.

The bar/reception and kids entertainment area was smaller than I expected (compared to Gulliver's Valley in Rotherham), but it was pleasant and sociable, the staff were really friendly, and the kids enjoyed the entertainment. And the theme park is great, plenty to do, lovely surroundings. Food a bit basic but decent options in the main hotel restaurant. Even more basic with fewer options in the theme park (and nothing healthy).

It smelled like sewage, the TV was small, the bed wasn't very comfy, it was nearly impossible to open and close the windows unless you were Spider-Man, flushing could be heard throughout the whole hotel, it wasn't very disability-friendly, there was no wardrobe, and all for £120 a night; the guy at the till was lovely tho.

Good for families, good value. We didnt have the food there as we opted to just buy some stuff from the nearby Sainsburys for our duration. Its not 'spick and span' tip top perfect as you would expect a good hotel but the bed was comfortable and I would return there if I needed to. Outside is designed for kids to play so yes definitely geared for the kids.
