The Shipquay Hotel is an elegant boutique hotel with a great location within the city walls of Derry. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The onsite restaurant serves great food, and there is also a bar in the Lower Ground Floor. Due to its location, there is no onsite parking, but there is free street parking nearby overnight, and the nearby parking lots are really cheap for daytime parking while you do the sights.

Beautiful hotel and very helpful and friendly staff. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner here too. Parking is tricky but we worked it out with some help from the staff.

The only negative is the location. It is half way up a very steep hill and parking is a 15 minute walk away. No immediate parking and not accessible for those struggling with hills. Only a few rooms have AC. The food and staff are amazing.

An amazing stay at the shipquay boutique hotel. Staff were so lovely and the location is so central. It was so good we decided to stay an extra night. The restaurant breakfast was fabulous and the cocktails from the bar were beautiful. Only issue was the shower was a little broken but still fully functional . Highly recommend!

Excellent service both at the desk and at the breakfast table. Breakfast and lunch menu was excellent. Wonderfully situated within the walls of the old city...full of history! Only issue was parking; there is no parking at the hotel, only at public parking lots. After circling the parking lot for 10-15 minutes, I was fortunate to find a car leaving a space just in time for my entrance.

The Shipquay in Derry is one of the best hotels we have stayed in. The staff from Reception to Housekeeping absolutely excellent and professional. Our room along with everywhere we went in the hotel was spotless, food was lovely, just everything about it made us smile. If you’re looking for somewhere to stay in Derry stop looking and get booking! 😊

Would recommend, lovely food, great dinner and breakfast. Central location, down sides was no parking and stair well walls a bit grubby which has an impact on first impressions but overall friendly staff and comfortable stay.

The staff were exceptionally welcoming and helpful with everything from parking suggestions to local bars and events. The room was very clean and well appointed. The bed was great and the bathroom was very clean and bright. The restaurant was very good, as was the bar. Attentive but not in-your-face staff made the experience that much better. A welcome Prosecco each morning and on arrival we’re a nice added touch. Would definitely recommend the Shipquay to everyone. Within the walled city and close to everything. Well done!

I can’t say a negative on any aspect of the Shipquay Boutique Hotel. Staff are most welcoming and friendly in all areas from reception to house keeping staff. Food was beautiful, bar area really comfortable and relaxed. Situated within walking distance of all major attractions and bus station. Really enjoyed my stay. Hope to return.

I had been looking forward to staying here and it was cute, and the dining was good, but honestly the room wasn't very clean. I am not usually too particular about complaining about cleanliness in hotels, but there was cream or product smeared on the light switches, the glass on the picture in the room was broken, and overall, it just dampened the experience. The room was also very cold and the window had been left open. The treats and prosecco were a nice touch, and the reception staff was lovely.

Staff very friendly, room had bottled water and robes and toiletries provided which was great. We had a top floor room so had to duck under the sloping roof! Shower was very good, hot and decent water pressure. Food and service in the bar Lock and Quay was great. Didn’t feel super safe in all areas surrounding the hotel, mainly due to a few unfriendly pubs and knowing not everyone in town likes Brits!

This should have been great but it wasn’t. We had to switch rooms because the room was unbearably hot with no ventilation & no air. We were put in a lower cost room with no refund & the worst bed, you could feel the springs in the bed. Apparently only some rooms have air & there are fans but they didn’t even know there were. Poor service poor conditions & when informed, little concern. Other rooms were nice but we didn’t have a good experience

Had a great night stay at the hotel, staff are lovely, the girl at reception was so pleasant and very helpful, lovely complimentary glass of bubble at arrival, and bottled water and biscuits in the room which was a nice touch, Breakfast the next morning was delicious, such a selection to chose from and nice glasses of mimosas if you liked which was all included in price, the only one downfall was the room we were in was incredibly warm, the window had an inside glass which we could open but the outside window didn't open so we didn't feel any air coming in, so it felt a bit stuffy, in saying that though, its not enough to put me off staying there again, I would recommend

From the outset, the receptionist (Lisa and others) was friendly, warm, professional and welcoming. The other receptionists on staff were the same. Their effort makes a huge difference in the guest experience. The hotel's restaurant was excellent in the food preparation (the fish dishes are superb), the prices are reasonable and the staff is attentive. The room/bed is comfortable. The location is great in the heart of the walled city. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Week before our stay we received a courtesy call from Brendan regarding parking etc. Thought this was a lovely touch. On arrival at the hotel we were early for check-in and hoped to drop off our luggage. Mairead at reception advised that our room was ready and could check-in. We were delighted. We were then told we got an upgrade and offered a glass of bubbly. Food, cocktails and staff were excellent. Had a fantastic stay and will definitely return and recommend to others.

The only negative is the location. It is half way up a very steep hill and parking is a 15 minute walk away. No immediate parking and not accessible for those struggling with hills. Only a few rooms have AC. The food and staff are amazing.

Highly recommend - the room was a good size. Very quiet - almost no night noise! The breakfast was great and the staff was incredibly friendly. Would come back over and over. If you don’t mind walking up the hill with luggage, it’s a 5 minute walk from the bus station.

A lovely hotel right in the heart of Derry. Fabulous room, amazing breakfasts… they thought of everything from Prosecco upon arrival, gorgeous chocolates in the room, nice toiletries, robs and slippers, hot chocolate and more. It’s the best hotel we’ve stayed in, in our 6 weeks in Ireland.

The room and restaurant were both stylish and beautiful. They also both had nice extras that made me feel like a valued guest. The restaurant served an exceptional dinner and breakfast. The staff was welcoming and very helpful with local knowledge. HIGHLY recommend.

A really nice hotel with super amazing staff. A couple of small points about the room. Having to phone reception for fresh milk is not at all convenient plus a small tray in the shower would not go amiss. The restaurant was disappointing given how high your expectations had been raised. The egg on the Boxty starter was soft boiled and definitely not poached. The Lamb was full of grizzle and very over cooked plus we were not offered a desert menu. My wife’s food was perfect so I just had an unlucky night.

The room was ok thought it was going to be better for the price i paid was very warm couldn't leave the windows open at night was so much noise outside went to the restaurant for dinner we both ordered the steak all you could taste was salt when we said to the waitress about she was in know way concerned that was the first time my partner has very left steak on his plate i left mine aswell went into town the next night and had a better meal the shipquay was my partners favourite hotel in Londonderry to stay not anymore think if we ever go again will book the city hotel witch is my favourite

Excellent service both at the desk and at the breakfast table. Breakfast and lunch menu was excellent. Wonderfully situated within the walls of the old city...full of history! Only issue was parking; there is no parking at the hotel, only at public parking lots. After circling the parking lot for 10-15 minutes, I was fortunate to find a car leaving a space just in time for my entrance.

Glasses of bubbly on our arrival. Staff very attentive and helpful throughout our stay. The food was very good quality and breakfast was served to our table ( not buffet style). All areas of the hotel were very clean and the beds and pillows were very comfortable. We would recommend a stay in this hotel for someone looking for a bit of quality and relaxation

This hotel is so beautiful and comfortable, not to mention perfectly located near all the points of interest in Derry. The breakfast was delicious as well. All of the staff were extremely pleasant and professional. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone visiting Derry.
