This is an extremely unique, charming, historical property in a beautiful area which is just begging to be explored. The house itself warrants a longer visit to appreciate the care and attention paid to making it endlessly interesting, and TJ enhances the entire experience with his hospitality and knowledge. I highly recommend staying here for a delightful respite from the fast pace of LA while being ideally situated.

Beautiful and unique property with fabulous canyon and downtown pasadena views. That was enough to make us give this place a five star review. But TJ, the host, took it to the next level - he was incredibly generous and personable - if we could, we’d give him a 10 star review. We are already planning a second visit.

Absolutely amazing place, amenities, and hosts!!! The level of care and attention to details is unmatched. Beautiful home atop the hill with gorgeous views of the cities below. Attentive hosts who are always available for great stories, nightcaps, and early morning breakfast. Love our stay here & will highly recommend to everyone. Parking is available for those who hate parking on the street.

What an amazing find! The location is out of this world. One that movie stars enjoy and one that you will never get tired of. At night you have the entire LA to your feet. Amazing. The hosts are amazing. TJ and his wife Jorie are both so good at making you feel home that after just a few minutes I felt I had known them for decades. The house is delightful, amazing, old and historic all at the same time. The decorations are just the over the top touch. The rooms are delightful, not that you will spend much time in them. Keep in mind two of their rooms are Jack and Jill bathroom shares. Something I personally do not do but if you are traveling with family or good friends that might very much be your option. The two Twins upstairs is what we opted for because of the bathroom being private. The room is small but very cute decorated and therefore certainly a good option. I would call it the tower room. Up the spiral staircase of this historic home, that alone is an adventure worth taking. This house is an old historic home. If you are expecting large generic decorated rooms this is not your place. You are not just meeting amazing hosts but also staying at a historic home with tons of character and history. We are so looking forward to another trip to LA just to be able to stay again with TJ and Jorie. ...oh and be prepared to get a really nice breakfast in the morning and a great conversation over coffee or tea. We did not want to leave. Thank you Jorie and TJ.

This is a lovely historic property, close in proximity to Hollywood and Universal Studios. The room and overall residence is clean, cozy and welcoming. The host, TJ is incredibly attentive and a charmer. Refreshments and Breakfast is top-notch. All-in-all, a wonderful stay.

My stay here was wonderful! We were greeted by TJ, the very kind host, who immediately made us feel welcome and at home. The property itself was gorgeous, with a peaceful atmosphere that made it easy to relax. Our room was spotless, cozy, and thoughtfully prepared with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. I came for the Oasis show at the Rose Bowl, and my biggest concern was parking—because who wants to deal with that awful traffic before and after the show? TJ had the perfect solution. We parked exactly where he suggested, and it was just a quick, easy walk to the Rose Bowl. No traffic, no nonsense. After the show, we were back at the property in no time, relaxing and enjoying each other’s company. To top it all off, TJ hosted a wonderful after party that made the experience even more special. This stay was well worth it, and I’m so grateful to TJ for such an amazing experience. I would absolutely return and highly recommend The Patrician to anyone visiting the area.

Rarely have we stayed anywhere as unique, clean, warm, and friendly as The Patrician. From the moment you arrive at this gorgeous hillside jewel overlooking Pasadena, the owner TJ and his wife are simply the best hosts you will ever encounter. The superb breakfasts of oven-fresh chocolate croissants, yogurt, fresh fruit, and gourmet coffee really got our day off to the perfect start. We came to town for a concert and received some great restaurant recommendations and places to visit locally from TJ. The beds are incredibly comfortable and the rooms are spotless. We've stayed in a lot of hotels and guest houses both here in the States and in Europe, and this rates up there with the best of them. You will not be disappointed. We will be back!

Its an excellent place to spend time close to everything but yet away from the hustle. A very clean, scenic and comfortable setting to relax and recharge for the next day. If you are lucky enough to have a conversation with TJ you will leave smiling wishing you can stay longer.

This place is wonderful. It’s an immaculately curated experience. TJ and breakfast time are a time to plan the day and chat and then off to explore all kinds of places. The house is spotless and very unique. I loved staying here!

WOW! The Patrician is the place to be if you want to relax and take in the views. My husband and I highly recommend this wonderful location as a fun getaway. The best part was our host TJ. His hosting skills are on point. He provided the classy finishing touches to our stay at this beautiful home hidden in the hills. Tj keeps the house immaculate and has fresh flowers throughout the house. TJ also made us a delicious breakfast. We enjoyed our breakfast in the kitchen with another couple and TJ. It was a lovely morning.Can't wait to recommend this place to anyone that will listen. Thanks TJ!

TJ was an amazing host and the service was impeccable. The scenery of the property was relaxing and spectacular. The room was perfect for a short weekend getaway, and I highly recommend this intimate property to get away from the busy noise of the city. Serene, historic, luxury place for a great price.

The Patrician is a rare and beautiful find. The location for a business, restorative or to go to any event at nearby event venues like the Rose Bowl can't be beat. Breakfast simple and generous. Rooms quiet and very private. TJ's genuine care to make each guest completely comfortable makes me want to return. And I will!

I have stayed here multiple times, and will continue to stay here any time I’m in LA. Quiet and beautiful. The house and host are a unique experience that adds to any trip, including couples get aways, solo travelers and biz trips (I have done them all while staying here). The proprietor, TJ, is knowledgeable about destinations and landmarks in LA, and very helpful with suggestions and solving any inconveniences that arise. The house is a historic mansion located in the hills above Pasadena with sweeping views of LA. Each of the rooms has a unique layout and vibe. The living room, dining rooms, and kitchen are open to all guests, and decorated with objects collected during the proprietor’s travels. Definitely ask for the stories behind them. Most recently stayed here for events at the LA Convention Center and Union Station, and the location was convenient. I recommend this location to everyone I talk to about traveling to LA, and I recommend it to you, too. Maybe you’ll see me there.

A unique B and B with an upscale breakfast. An interesting property with gorgeous views. The host is most welcoming. Our queen size bed was quite comfortable and we had our own bathroom which was not recently updated. This property is quite close to the rose bowl(15 min drive) Beautiful neighborhood but not walkable as there are not any sidewalks. The house is a historical house and decorated with antique furniture.

I was fortunate to book a stay at the Patrician Hollywood Universal when I flew into town for a convention. Beautiful house with exceptional outdoor space and clean and comfortable rooms. It is good to know going in that you are paying for a room in lovely home. So it is not your average hotel. However the host is always available and there is breakfast ready for you every morning. One of the things I loved about the Patrician is that it was an engaging and intimate stay. I got to meet with the other house guests and we all sat around a table drinking and eating and sharing stories of our travels. Another thing I liked that may be a deal breaker for some is that there were no TV's in the rooms (at least not in mine). However I found that refreshing as it gave me a break from the tube and allowed me a more refreshing stay. However the absolute best part of my stay was the host himself. TJ was by far the greatest host I've ever come across and has set the bar very high for my next many travels. I will definitely be booking again at the Patrician. Thanks for chocolate croissant!

I got to meet with the other house guests and we all sat around a table drinking and eating and sharing stories of our travels. Another thing I liked that may be a deal breaker for some is that there were no TV's in the rooms (at least not in mine). However I found that refreshing as it gave me a break from the tube and allowed me a more refreshing stay. However the absolute best part of my stay was the host himself. TJ was by far the greatest host I've ever come across and has set the bar very high for my next many travels. I will definitely be booking again at the Patrician. Thanks for chocolate croissant!

What an amazing find! The location is out of this world. One that movie stars enjoy and one that you will never get tired of. At night you have the entire LA to your feet. Amazing. The hosts are amazing. TJ and his wife Jorie are both so good at making you feel home that after just a few minutes I felt I had known them for decades. The house is delightful, amazing, old and historic all at the same time. The decorations are just the over the top touch. The rooms are delightful, not that you will spend much time in them. Keep in mind two of their rooms are Jack and Jill bathroom shares. Something I personally do not do but if you are traveling with family or good friends that might very much be your option. The two Twins upstairs is what we opted for because of the bathroom being private. The room is small but very cute decorated and therefore certainly a good option. I would call it the tower room. Up the spiral staircase of this historic home, that alone is an adventure worth taking. This house is an old historic home. If you are expecting large generic decorated rooms this is not your place. You are not just meeting amazing hosts but also staying at a historic home with tons of character and history. We are so looking forward to another trip to LA just to be able to stay again with TJ and Jorie. ...oh and be prepared to get a really nice breakfast in the morning and a great conversation over coffee or tea. We did not want to leave. Thank you Jorie and TJ.

This bnb was a wonderful experience. TJ was one of the best hosts I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing for a bed and breakfast, and truly showed me what the bed and breakfast experience should be from now on. TJ truly has a wealth of knowledge For Pasadena and the greater Los Angeles area and is a very good resource for what to do if you ever are at a loss when you're on vacation.

We had an amazing time at the Patrician! My girlfriend and I were celebrating our anniversary and this was the perfect place to do it. TJ was an exceptional host, and the service and attention to detail he gave to our stay was the best I have ever experienced at a boutique hotel or BnB like this one. We had a fantastic experience at The Patrician. Beautiful historic large home and landscaped patios and yards in the hills with views forever. A beautiful property with such interesting design and the owner’s world travels are reflected in the decor. TJ is a natural born host. He’s so fun and has great stories about the house, Pasadena and LA, and clearly loves his guests. It’s like visiting a friend while still retaining your privacy. Lovely breakfast and lemon drop martini in the evening. Can’t do better than this. We’ll be back!

My stay here was wonderful! We were greeted by TJ, the very kind host, who immediately made us feel welcome and at home. The property itself was gorgeous, with a peaceful atmosphere that made it easy to relax. Our room was spotless, cozy, and thoughtfully prepared with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. I came for the Oasis show at the Rose Bowl, and my biggest concern was parking—because who wants to deal with that awful traffic before and after the show? TJ had the perfect solution. We parked exactly where he suggested, and it was just a quick, easy walk to the Rose Bowl. No traffic, no nonsense. After the show, we were back at the property in no time, relaxing and enjoying each other’s company. To top it all off, TJ hosted a wonderful after party that made the experience even more special. This stay was well worth it, and I’m so grateful to TJ for such an amazing experience. I would absolutely return and highly recommend The Patrician to anyone visiting the area.

The Patrician is a rare and beautiful find. The location for a business, restorative or to go to any event at nearby event venues like the Rose Bowl can't be beat. Breakfast simple and generous. Rooms quiet and very private. TJ's genuine care to make each guest completely comfortable makes me want to return. And I will!

I have stayed here multiple times, and will continue to stay here any time I’m in LA. Quiet and beautiful. The house and host are a unique experience that adds to any trip, including couples get aways, solo travelers and biz trips (I have done them all while staying here). The proprietor, TJ, is knowledgeable about destinations and landmarks in LA, and very helpful with suggestions and solving any inconveniences that arise. The house is a historic mansion located in the hills above Pasadena with sweeping views of LA. Each of the rooms has a unique layout and vibe. The living room, dining rooms, and kitchen are open to all guests, and decorated with objects collected during the proprietor’s travels. Definitely ask for the stories behind them. Most recently stayed here for events at the LA Convention Center and Union Station, and the location was convenient. I recommend this location to everyone I talk to about traveling to LA, and I recommend it to you, too. Maybe you’ll see me there.

A unique B and B with an upscale breakfast. An interesting property with gorgeous views. The host is most welcoming. Our queen size bed was quite comfortable and we had our own bathroom which was not recently updated. This property is quite close to the rose bowl(15 min drive) Beautiful neighborhood but not walkable as there are not any sidewalks. The house is a historical house and decorated with antique furniture.

In fact if I could give it an 11, I would! The views are breathtaking, the property inside and out is like a welcoming museum of beautiful decor. The host was truly delightful, a wealth of knowledge, stories, and advice, plus he makes a pretty dang good breakfast too! This place is a treasure, and a must-visit!

We had a delightful time at this estate -- very different from just your cookie cutter hotel stay! TJ was an amazing host -- interesting conversation, yummy snacks and breakfast and just did everything he could to make us feel comfortable. The backyard is gorgeous and was lovely to relax in after we came back from dinner out. The interior of the home is magnificent -- so tastefully decorated with unusual, but beautiful decor.

Excellent stay at The Patrician while visiting colleges in the area with my son. TJ was the best host! WOW! The Patrician is the place to be if you want to relax and take in the views. My husband and I highly recommend this wonderful location as a fun getaway. The best part was our host TJ. His hosting skills are on point. He provided the classy finishing touches to our stay at this beautiful home hidden in the hills. Tj keeps the house immaculate and has fresh flowers throughout the house. TJ also made us a delicious breakfast. We enjoyed our breakfast in the kitchen with another couple and TJ. However (and at this point I will transition to poetry): “If you enjoy beautiful accommodations - If you have a penchant for lively conversations - If your cocktail cravings veer toward a lemon drop - If you have an appreciation for views that are non-stop. Then may I suggest the Patrician for your Pasedna stay? It is a unique and special place for a romantic getaway!” As has been mentioned in numerous reviews, T.J. is a top-notch concierge and host. His suggestions provided some real highlights for our weekend! He obviously takes great pride and joy in hosting guests on his amazing property. Truly a memorable time - Bed linens were so soft and the towels were fluffy! It’s those small details that make a stay feel special. The Patrician has so many little touches that make it stand out in a crowd of B&B’s. The pour-over coffee is a totally zen experience that has me re-thinking my current morning ritual. The decor is sumptuous and every piece seems to tell a story. This is a quiet spot - not a party house. There are stairs so take that into consideration. The Patrician Hollywood exceeded our expectations. We chose it for a short stay to get to know downtown LA and Pasadena arts, culture and food. TJ is an engaging host, with a wealth of local knowledge and the sophistication of a world traveler. The house is a perfect example of 1920s LA style (it could be a movie set), decorated with an eye for the exotic and comfortable. The views of the LA basin from the garden are expansive. The local streets are quiet (and excellent for a morning run).

I’ve never been so blown away by hospitality in all of my travels. TJ’s home was absolutely gorgeous and he was very welcoming. Highly recommend! We’ll definitively be staying here on our next trip to Pasadena.
