Overall this is a very nice hotel. It looks and feels new. Quiet rooms and a good place to get a good night's sleep. Also a great place to stay if you like to workout as the fitness amenities are top notch! Staff is friendly and helpful. The parking deck is connected to the hotel and your pass is validated as a guest.

I prepaid for my stay through Expedia. I provided my credit card at checkin for incidentals. They said they would only charge $300, which would be released after checkout. They ended up charging my card over $2000, which tied up a lot of my funds that I needed on my trip. My bank ended up locking my card temporarily because they thought it was fraudulent activity. Terrible communication and customer service. The hotel was very clean and the food at the restaurant was good. The pool is extremely crowded and not kid friendly. They do have a bar near the pool, but no food/drink service at your seats.

The Hotel at Midtown was a great find! Not wanting to spend huge bucks along the waterfront in tourist season, this hotel was all I could have hoped for. Located in the Midtown Athletic Club complex, the entire third floor features a classy boutique hotel with wonderful amenities, including an outdoor pool, bar, and hot tub. Access to the athletic club was included, and it had everything one could imagine and more. The restaurant on the pool floor level was a great place to start the day after a workout. I will definitely stay there again on my next trip to Chicago

the ac did not cool the room, i complained to the front desk and they tried to give me a coupon to breakfast. i couldn’t sleep on their supposed king bed which my feet hung off, it was too hard, and the room wouldn’t cool under 71degrees. carpet in the hallway was bunched up and i almost tripped twice on it. the counters were all scratched up, tiles in the pool area were loose, i almost tripped on them too. creaky floor boards in the room. even small details in the pool and hot tub like poorly applied seals and shoddy grout work everywhere. for $350 a night, i shouldn’t have to complain about the ac, it should just work.

Too little counter space in the bathroom. Absolutely no shelf in the shower (I had to bend my 68-year-old knees all the way to pick up my soap and shampoo from the floor). Very comfortable beds. Good quality paper products. Friendly staff. Housekeeping failed to restock coffee items and replace towels.

I stayed here for 4 nights Aug 2023. The hotel and gym are in the same building with the entrance and elevators and very crowded with people coming to work out at all hours of the day and evenings. The whole building smells like sweat. The outdoor poor was highly crowded and full of kids to the extent that the water appeared cloudy. Each time I tried to swim (including early morning and end of the day when it was “adult time” I kept getting strands of hair wrapped around my fingers. It is the dirtiest pool I have ever personally experienced. The room itself was nice, no complaints. Staff interactions were either great or awful. On the day that I was checking out I had called downstairs requesting a late checkout because of being on a work call 11am-12pm (checkout time is 11am but can be extended to 2pm). After this I had 2 maids come into the room and 4 calls from the reception desk all during my 1hr Zoom work call to ask me when I was checking out. When I complained about the 6 interruptions, the front desk guy tells me over the phone verbatim “We are trying to run a business.” It was so incredibly inappropriate I could not wait to get my things and check out. What an awful way to end what was a mediocre stay at best. This place is trying to do it all, be a gym, a hotel, be cool and trendy but really the experience is like being away at an overnight camp at a crowded smelly gym with a disgusting pool and a mixture of pleasant and rude staff members.

The gym is amazing. We used to be members and enjoy getting to use it when we come back into town. The hotel is just okay. If you are on the 4th floor you can hear all the fitness activities happening below. Our room had a curtain shower and parts of the bars in the tub were coming off the wall.

Only one set of towels in the room. Had to call twice for more. No outside fans. Air hard to control. Linens were pretty rough. Very clean. Easy check in/out. Pool big & clean. Poor bar out of a lot of menu items (booze). No wait staff by pool. Froze, which I’m not usually a fan of, was excellent.

I apparently booked a room *inside* a weight room. At 5:00 AM sharp—not 5:01, not 5:05, but 5:00 AM—I was violently awoken not by an alarm, but by the structural integrity of the building being tested. The gym is located directly below the guest rooms. When the morning spin class starts, the bass doesn't just travel through the air; it travels through the floorboards, up the bed frame, and into your skeleton. I didn't sign up for a spin class, but my mattress apparently did.

Hotel occupies floor 5 and 6 of a health & wellness center. That's an understatement. Easily biggest gym I've seen and I've been to a lot of gyms. Your hotel stay comes with full access to the fitness facility. If you're a fitness junkie, you'll be in heaven. The MAJOR drawback: In another life, I briefly worked in noise abatement. For a luxury hotel, you'll have a 55 STC (google it). Most new builds require a 50 STC or higher. I swear the STC on this place must be in the 30's (akin to the cheapest budget motel you'll ever stay at). It's literally a 2x4 with two 1/2" drywall, that's all that separates guests. I could hear my neighbors conversation clearly, every footstep from floor above me. It felt like the only thing separating all of us was a fabric curtain. And the hotel knows this because there's earplugs provided on the counter. If you're a super heavy sleeper and love working out, this is your jam. Otherwise, not worth the poor sleep.

Be prepared for loud banging from about 5 am to 10 pm. We stayed on the 5 th floor and the free weights are on the 3 rd. If they try and stick you on the 4, move!

Decent hotel but wildly loud. Starting at 5am, all you can hear are people lifting in the gym directly below the hotel rooms. Also, toilet water flow is very bad and the sinks don’t drain. Wouldn’t stay here again unless it’s just for tennis and you plan to be up very early.

Stayed in 4th floor. Like other reviews you can hear people in the gym below early in the morning. I'm an early riser, so was not a big deal. But would recommend 5th floor.

The hotel had friendly staff and was extremely clean. The exercise classes were great and there were quite a few to choose from. The gym was spotless. The only issue I had was the dropping of the weights from 5 am to 10 pm. I was on the 4th floor and it's a steady stream of noise.

I stayed here for 4 nights Aug 2023. The hotel and gym are in the same building with the entrance and elevators and very crowded with people coming to work out at all hours of the day and evenings. The whole building smells like sweat. The outdoor poor was highly crowded and full of kids to the extent that the water appeared cloudy. Each time I tried to swim (including early morning and end of the day when it was “adult time” I kept getting strands of hair wrapped around my fingers. It is the dirtiest pool I have ever personally experienced. The room itself was nice, no complaints. Staff interactions were either great or awful. On the day that I was checking out I had called downstairs requesting a late checkout because of being on a work call 11am-12pm (checkout time is 11am but can be extended to 2pm). After this I had 2 maids come into the room and 4 calls from the reception desk all during my 1hr Zoom work call to ask me when I was checking out. When I complained about the 6 interruptions, the front desk guy tells me over the phone verbatim “We are trying to run a business.” It was so incredibly inappropriate I could not wait to get my things and check out. What an awful way to end what was a mediocre stay at best. This place is trying to do it all, be a gym, a hotel, be cool and trendy but really the experience is like being away at an overnight camp at a crowded smelly gym with a disgusting pool and a mixture of pleasant and rude staff members.

I prepaid for my stay through Expedia. I provided my credit card at checkin for incidentals. They said they would only charge $300, which would be released after checkout. They ended up charging my card over $2000, which tied up a lot of my funds that I needed on my trip. My bank ended up locking my card temporarily because they thought it was fraudulent activity. Terrible communication and customer service. The hotel was very clean and the food at the restaurant was good. The pool is extremely crowded and not kid friendly. They do have a bar near the pool, but no food/drink service at your seats.

The Hotel @ Midtown was the perfect spot for my teenage daughter and I to stay after attending a concert at Wrigley! Extremely safe, Beautiful, clean, and very convenient! Easy on and off the expressway, easy family friendly dining in the area- even a grocery attached in the plaza! Uber picked us up and dropped off right at the lobby. Coffee at the coffee bar was fantastic. Overall I highly recommend!

It is integrated into an upscale health and fitness club; you may hear weights clanging in the daytime hours, but you have access to all of that - a great asset for those interested. More of a health club with rooms rather than a hotel with a fitness center. The only on-site restaurant is very limited with respect to menu and hours, however; plan on eating elsewhere for most meals (lots of local choices).

The hotel itself is beautiful. However, for the price you are paying to stay, there were a few things I wasn't thrilled about.. 1. Baggage help- I needed to get a cart for my bags and no one even helped to offer. I understand this isn't required but for the amount we are paying to stay here, I would think someone would at least offer to help 2 girls with a lot of bags. It also is not obvious where the baggage carts are. 2. Snacks- There were no snacks to purchase upon check-in. The bar was open but because the coffee shop was closed, options were minimal and not very good. 3. The whole vibe of a hotel and a gym in the same area is a bit weird. The lobby always felt crowded and was not easy to navigate because of all the gym goers. Maybe a bit more separation would be nice. Would I stay here again? Maybe. Probably not. But it is a nice hotel.

We stayed on the 4th floor, where you can hear ALL classes on 3rd floor. The hotel was kind enough to leave ear plugs but certainly a down fall. Hotel was very clean and well maintained. The Hotel at Midtown was a great find! Not wanting to spend huge bucks along the waterfront in tourist season, this hotel was all I could have hoped for. Located in the Midtown Athletic Club complex, the entire third floor features a classy boutique hotel with wonderful amenities, including an outdoor pool, bar, and hot tub. Access to the athletic club was included, and it had everything one could imagine and more. The restaurant on the pool floor level was a great place to start the day after a workout. I will definitely stay there again on my next trip to Chicago

Pedicure at spa had only one therapist instead of 2 scheduled. Whole morning backed up due to this. Add on the insult resort fee, then the check out harassment leads me to never consider returning. The final straw was the ticket reader at the garage exit was malfunctioning. I was so glad to get out! Next stay will be at Marriott where we have status and are treated like guests.
