The overall experience was great! That was until I had been charged by the Hotel in question ‘Twice’! Yes I paid for my accommodation on the day of my stay inclusive of a wonderful meal I had. On checking my Corporate Card online app, 3 days later I got charged for the accommodation AGAIN, as I’d elected to ‘Pay at the Property’ when I made the booking and ‘The Property’ in their wisdom decided to charge a second time. I called up the property and asked for someone in ‘Accounts’ and the person on the other end said that would be me Tanya. Well before I could get out of my mouth what I was calling for, she decided to go on the total defence and preceded to ‘TELL ME’ what I had to do, without hearing the complete story. Even after giving her the receipt number so SHE could investigate the double charge within her own banking deposits from her accounting system, SHE said “What you ARE going to have to do” this is without taking responsibility for charging me twice on their end! Please, am I wrong to think that if someone charges you twice for something, as a consumer surely it’s up to the person that has charged twice for the same transaction to question the vendor and they need to fix their accounting side and apologise for the double charge? My thoughts are I deserve 1. An explanation for how I’ve been charged Twice 2. A refund IMMEDIATELY 3. A ‘Sorry Mr Blah’?? One Disappointed Customer!!

This is our second stay at the Tavern - the room is really nice and comfortable and the staff are helpful. The only issue being that we were in town visiting family both times and this time both the nights we stayed (Friday and Saturday) were interrupted by the incredible volume from the patrons of the tavern itself. Totally understand people younger and cooler than I staying up past midnight on the weekend but it made it almost impossible to go to sleep before then and despite closing the windows it felt like the screaming, whooping, cheering and singing of the national anthem at 11pm was happening right outside our door. To sum up, the accom is great - but can be complicated due to the proximity of the bar.
