I could have stayed at any of the more modern hotels but that’s not what I wanted for this trip. Each room at this facility is unique and totally surf oriented. The patio area overlooks the ocean and pier. It’s prime realty. Convienient walking to ocean, shops, eateries. PCH is a great road to travel to other beaches. Manager is exceptional and the room spacious and clean. Will definitely stay here again.

This is a motel but within walking distance to beach and shopping and food. Cute room and it was clean. The guy at front office was so friendly and helpful with recommendations for restaurants and he had ice for us when we needed it. Free parking. There’s a spot for each room so that was a big plus. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze but my SUV fit just fine. I would definitely stay here again!

Quiet little Inn with everything just one block over. Ocean views. Clean. Beautiful sundeck. Staff is great. King bed rooms are the better rooms, renovated. The 2 queens room are clean but need upgrading.

It’s essentially a basic hotel, but in an incredible location. We loved sitting on the little deck across from the water and walking on the sand every day. It’s very chill, no frills, but the shower is hot and parking is free. Bring ear plugs if you’re sensitive to freeway noise, and enjoy that beautiful beach and the walk to food and drinks and the pier.
It’s essentially a basic hotel, but in an incredible location. We loved sitting on the little deck across from the water and walking on the sand every day. It’s very chill, no frills, but the shower is hot and parking is free. Bring ear plugs if you’re sensitive to freeway noise, and enjoy that beautiful beach and the walk to food and drinks and the pier.

Very cool little Motel across from the beach. Had little extras like beach towels, chairs, & umbrella. Great location. Don’t expect a 5- star hotel but everything you need with Beach across the street with 5 minute walk to the pier. Great Location!!!

Fantastic property. Amazing customers service, I was warmly welcomed at check in. The room was clean and comfy. Amazing views of the beach. Very quiet, enjoyed the sun deck as well. Easy parking right underneath the property. Will def stay again!

What a nightmare. Garbage under the bed; hair in the sink; Aleve pills on the carpet; spilled cereal in the fridge; uncleaned liquid spill on night stand; broken zip tie on the pillow. OLD motel; one window; no balconies. No coffee maker in room and no breakfast. Was so freaked-out by the conditions, I left 2 days early. To be fair, the lady to whom I complained was extremely kind and very understanding. She refunded me the 2 nights. Went - literally - right across the street and got a beautifully clean, 2nd story room with a large balcony that faced the ocean for the exact same price. Never again.

What sets this hotel differently from a motel 6 is the quirky paint murals on the walls in the room. It also has upgraded towels. The bed was ok and the room was clean however it had an unpleasant smell.

Check in process was easy and we arrived where there was actual parking. I think there are 6 spots total and the rest is street/alley parking. I love the location but the room did creep me out. It was very dirty but the bed was good. Lots of people partying around us, loud neighbors. I wouldn’t stay again but it wasn’t the worst place I stayed. For the money, I would find a better place.

The area where there is supposed to be coffee was, in fact, devoid of coffee…had to amble down the street to a coffee joint for my morning fix. The A/C unit in room 8 was loud when it operated, which appeared to be about a 50/50 proposition. The toilet ran somewhat continuously because the flapper inside the tank was insufficient…should be a simple fix. I chose this place because it had a great rating and my options were limited (last-minute trip decision). I am somewhat scratching my head how it was rated so highly. All this negative stuff said (typed), the room was clean, the bed was comfortable enough, it’s in a great location, and the dude working there was nice. If the A/C unit is fixed and coffee is available, I’m bumping it up to a 4 of 5 star rating…assuming the nightly rate is commensurate with the accommodation.

Amazing hotel rooms are so unique staff is so friendly Beautiful views with lots of shops available just in walking distance. Beds are comfortable. Everything was clean. Balcony is amazing to look at the ocean.

The room and bathroom lighting were substandard. Bathroom towel set was rust stained. Shower door was off the track. Their deck was nice as it had a view of the beach/ocean. In addition, it's across the street from Huntington Beach. The Surf Inn is retro 1950s.

i stayed in the “KISS” rockstar room. i loved the space of the room, large bathroom, the amount of towels available, lighting with charger outlets and the overall layout. the a/c unit took a while to crank up & shoot out a dust smell. i ended up checking out a day early due to the dust from the unit. the desk clerk took notes and i’m sure the a/c filter will be cleaned soon. unfortunately, someone smoked pot in their room, which traveled to my room. yuck. it was challenging to find the front office of the hotel. i had to call to figure out where to go. i suggest painted arrows or signage to fix issue. no worries not a big deal. the front office is a room that has a sliding glass window. it felt old school & modern at the same time. the location of the hotel is steps away from the beach & pier. i’d you need beach towels and chairs, the hotel has them for you. please stay here it’s a gem and you’ll enjoy the location a lot!!

We enjoyed how close this motel is to the beach and downtown! The beds were a little uncomfortable but overall fine. We stayed in room 3 which is right across a wonderful little patio area to watch the beach life. Would definitely come back!

First and foremost, the gentleman at the front desk was one of the loveliest people that I encountered on my entire vacation. Such a warm and welcoming spirit. The hotel is very cute. It’s obviously old, but lots of work has been put into making it comfortable. It’s definitely unique and was comfortable. The location is fantastic. Just takes a few minutes to walk across the PCH to the water. There are plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. We had a great dinner just down the road. It was great that there was dedicated parking at the hotel, which was included in the price. I loved the little deck, we were able to sit and watch the sun go down and then come back up again the next day. The only con was the A/C was SO loud. Like a freight train in our room. But it certainly would not stop me from staying again

I could have stayed at any of the more modern hotels but that’s not what I wanted for this trip. Each room at this facility is unique and totally surf oriented. The patio area overlooks the ocean and pier. It’s prime realty. Convienient walking to ocean, shops, eateries. PCH is a great road to travel to other beaches. Manager is exceptional and the room spacious and clean. Will definitely stay here again.

This is a motel but within walking distance to beach and shopping and food. Cute room and it was clean. The guy at front office was so friendly and helpful with recommendations for restaurants and he had ice for us when we needed it. Free parking. There’s a spot for each room so that was a big plus. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze but my SUV fit just fine. I would definitely stay here again!

I booked for three nights. I unpacked thinking about rest, relaxation, and a break from life in Seattle only to be told after I made sunny Room 1 my brief home away from home to pack up and move to room 8 the next morning as if that’s what a vacation should be about. I packed up, left, the room, and yes I was satisfied with darkroom 8 totally in the shadows of the office. Indeed the rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. I have no complaints on that score, nor anything about its central location. Ownership apologized, but something extra should have been done. For $200 a night I deserved better. The photo here was what I was forced to move from!

The staff were friendly and courteous - going the extra mile to keep us in the same room for an impromptu second night. Beach toys were available to borrow. I was able to park at the location for free while exploring the area before check-in and also received a text letting me know when the room was available, which was earlier than the listed check-in time. Appreciated all of these little things when evacuating our home due to the Los Angeles fires.

First and foremost, the gentleman at the front desk was one of the loveliest people that I encountered on my entire vacation. Such a warm and welcoming spirit. The hotel is very cute. It’s obviously old, but lots of work has been put into making it comfortable. It’s definitely unique and was comfortable. The location is fantastic. Just takes a few minutes to walk across the PCH to the water. There are plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. We had a great dinner just down the road. It was great that there was dedicated parking at the hotel, which was included in the price. I loved the little deck, we were able to sit and watch the sun go down and then come back up again the next day. The only con was the A/C was SO loud. Like a freight train in our room. But it certainly would not stop me from staying again

Very close to the beach, Huntington pier, pubs, restaurants and shops. Great location for exploring Huntington beach! Its next to the main road, so you can hear some noise from the main street - we didnt mind, but just to mention. Parking is under the appartments and when you can drive and park, its absolutely ok :).

It’s essentially a basic hotel, but in an incredible location. We loved sitting on the little deck across from the water and walking on the sand every day. It’s very chill, no frills, but the shower is hot and parking is free. Bring ear plugs if you’re sensitive to freeway noise, and enjoy that beautiful beach and the walk to food and drinks and the pier.

It's all about the view from your window! On PCH right across from the beach, 2 blocks from the pier and downtown. Basic room, no coffee in the room. They provide beach towels and some kid toys for the beach. Comfortable bed. All 6 rooms are up the stairs. Front desk staff seem to be there 24/7 and very helpful. Parking free right under the rooms. We had no trouble finding a spot. I'd say if you're here for the beach and location the hotel is perfect. If you want a fancy hotel this one isn't it.

What a nightmare. Garbage under the bed; hair in the sink; Aleve pills on the carpet; spilled cereal in the fridge; uncleaned liquid spill on night stand; broken zip tie on the pillow. OLD motel; one window; no balconies. No coffee maker in room and no breakfast. Was so freaked-out by the conditions, I left 2 days early. To be fair, the lady to whom I complained was extremely kind and very understanding. She refunded me the 2 nights. Went - literally - right across the street and got a beautifully clean, 2nd story room with a large balcony that faced the ocean for the exact same price. Never again.

The area where there is supposed to be coffee was, in fact, devoid of coffee…had to amble down the street to a coffee joint for my morning fix. The A/C unit in room 8 was loud when it operated, which appeared to be about a 50/50 proposition. The toilet ran somewhat continuously because the flapper inside the tank was insufficient…should be a simple fix. I chose this place because it had a great rating and my options were limited (last-minute trip decision). I am somewhat scratching my head how it was rated so highly. All this negative stuff said (typed), the room was clean, the bed was comfortable enough, it’s in a great location, and the dude working there was nice. If the A/C unit is fixed and coffee is available, I’m bumping it up to a 4 of 5 star rating…assuming the nightly rate is commensurate with the accommodation.

The Surf Inn is an excellent budget friendly resort that puts you close to the Main Street pier within walking distance to all of the restaurants and shops. The beach is literally right across the street from the hotel. I highly recommended it to anyone wanting to vacation in Huntington Beach.

Really great walkable location to downtown Huntington Beach that is much cheaper than other options. Really liked the feel of the hotel and the free parking is great. Rooms are all unique and being able to sit outside on the deck and watch the ocean and the PCH was awesome. Only complaint is that the blinds to our room were broken and would not go all the way down. Would definitely stay here again.
