The positives: Lovely check in lady, large room, very comfortable bed, dog friendly, most areas recently refurbished, access from A55. For the price, this place is excellent. Breakfast was good, I had a freshly cooked breakfast, toast & a yoghurt. Decor is generally fresh. Plenty of parking. Nice, spacious grounds. Large dining room. The parts for improvement are, glasses in the room/bathroom, a hotel info pack (I had to call to check the breakfast times as forgot & nowhere to see it). A bit more cleaning of communal areas (some cobwebs in the windows in the dining room). It was very quiet, only a few people staying. I really hope the refresh brings more people in and they could consider opening the bar/restaurant in the evenings. All in all though, I'd definitely stay there again. Great value, lovely grounds and genuinely the best sleep I've had in a long time on the comfortable bed.

I was not informed when booking my stay that there was no restaurant facilities. Consequently I had to go out for my evening meal- and this after a 6 hour drive to get there. No breakfast facilities. I think that I was virtually the only customer staying there. The property was surrounded by temporary mesh fencing which made you feel you were staying on a building site.

Was working for a week in the area, and this was a perfect base. Good connections to the A55 and plenty of parking at the hotel. The room had the basic amenities and a larger than usual television for such a room. Water took a short while to get warm, but once it was going the pressure and temperature was excellent. No bar or other hospitality services, but suited my situation, made for a quiet but comfortable hotel for a week.

Northop Hall Hotel had beautiful grounds and loads of parking. It was a little out of town so you would need a vehicle. The room was comfortable but if you have heavy luggage…be warned that there was no elevator! Overall, it was a great stay for a night. The staff were lovely!

First impressions of hotel as you drive up the drive are very good. Ample parking available. Welcome at reception was friendly and were shown room. Room was satisfactory but decor was a bit dated with adequate key lock. Beds were a little bit rocky and soft but still slept well. Breakfast was of a good size however was fried not grilled, the sausages were cheap quality and no choice of egg type.

When we pulled up to the hotel, our intial thought was that it was closed, there is temporary fencing all round the property after going into reception I asked about breakfast and a bar, neither where available, there is nothing within walking distance either on the plus side room was clean and fairly comfortable.

For the price, brilliant. Check in was easy, room was clean and spacious, bathroom was clean and a good size. The shower was hot and a decent pressure too. The area was quiet, I saw a few other guests ranging from retired couples to a family with a young child who enjoyed running round on the lawn. Absolutely wouldn't hesitate to stay again. maybe some basic snacks for sale would be a good idea in the absence of a bar or restaurant.

The worst hotel stay I’ve had in years, from the initial booking I got conflicting info from staff about a late check in due to being at a wedding, then I had to request the key safe code for my room and wait around for it late at night as it was never sent. The bed was not at all comfortable! The curtains were not blackout so was woken VERY early by the sun, the bathroom didn’t have an extractor fan so the mirrored walls quickly steamed up and the condensation never disappeared so you couldn’t use them to get ready without getting a towel soaked wiping them down. The cleanliness left a lot to be desired, dead insects and stained carpets. The walls were also paper thin. The breakfast was pretty sub standard, bacon and sausage barely cooked. I wouldn’t ever stay here again!

In the whole this hotel is really good. The outdoors are beautiful n staff very helpful and friendly. The decor is very impersonal magnolia and white but it’s clean grey curtains. A few positive suggestions still: tea spoons on the complementary tray in bedroom A better kettle and bigger cups. Spare blanket in cupboard Clean the mould growing around the bath.

I had no idea that the hotel was under refurbishment, I think they are short of staff too, the receptionist appears to also act as the cleaner, the toilet basin and seat were dirty. The receptionist was trying his best. There was no heating in the room either.

Freezing…. The whole building looked like it had been abandoned. The duty desk manager gave us a portable heater, the room was clean with fresh bedding and towels but not vacuumed. No carpet on the stairs where I very nearly fell down them. It looked neglected! Such a shame.

Staff uttered approx. 5 words whilst handing key over. To say the room was 'tired' is being kind - it was in desperate need of a facelift. It had a grubby feel to it with dated furniture, small holes in wall, dust and flies in windowsill and rusty bathroom fittings. The emergency exit along the corridor was wedged open all night which didn't feel safe or security conscious so put me on edge. I've given 2 stars purely because we slept and that was the purpose of me booking!!

Room was ok and clean, towels ridiculously small. Fire door on ground floor kept open with a log. Holes in the wall that have not even had the attempt of being papered over. No facilities for food all in all a bit jaded though the garden area was lovely

Clean room, been partly modernised since my last visit but still somewhat dated and paintwork etc needs touching up. Smart TV in the room this time though it was very slow and while the apps worked, the main live channels didn't seem to. Not anything which really bothered me but may others. Breakfast was cooked to order and fantastic. Friendly staff throughout, speedy check in. A big improvement since my last visit, still a little way to go.

The hotel is old and has issues. Only heat that worked in the room was a space heater that was brought in. Bednwas ok but not nice Bathroom very cramped

The room itself was reasonably clean. Walls were paper thin!!!! Couple came back late at night could hear everything!!! No staff to complain to at 4 in the morning!!! No restaurant no bar had to drive a2 miles to get a meal!!! Will not be using this place again!!!

Parking area good, though poorly lit. Room good but curtains were see through and didnt prevent any early morning light. Problem with wifi, staff did all they could, and was very helpful. Big problem with directions. Google maps took me to Hero's Place and a cul-de-sac that was difficult to turn around.

The place will no doubt be beautiful once the refurbishment is complete. Set in beautiful grounds. However in the interim it has the feel of a cross between Faulty Towers and the marie celeste. No staff on site after 9pm and everyone left to fend for themselves. A couple of guests got locked out because the outdoor entry code was not shared with them by the receptionist. Saw them banging on the door.

No one to greet us on arrival, when reception arrived gave us key. Didn’t show or tell where room was. Got in room knock at door if you stay here now you will be charged extra, so we went and came back later. Bed was supposed to be double king, it was two single beds put together, one was higher than the other and one was an old mattress that had no support in it st all, very uncomfortable night. No receptionist to had key in in the morning, just put key on the desk. Over all this was a very unsatisfying night.

The worst hotel stay I’ve had in years, from the initial booking I got conflicting info from staff about a late check in due to being at a wedding, then I had to request the key safe code for my room and wait around for it late at night as it was never sent. The bed was not at all comfortable! The curtains were not blackout so was woken VERY early by the sun, the bathroom didn’t have an extractor fan so the mirrored walls quickly steamed up and the condensation never disappeared so you couldn’t use them to get ready without getting a towel soaked wiping them down. The cleanliness left a lot to be desired, dead insects and stained carpets. The walls were also paper thin. The breakfast was pretty sub standard, bacon and sausage barely cooked. I wouldn’t ever stay here again!

Very helpful friendly staff. The hotel is not actually in the town of Mold as I thought but in Northop, a few miles outside.

I booked a three night stay at the Northop for my wife to attend a local event. She had a single room. Suffice to say that the "noise" coming from next door was enough to make her go and sleep in the car. After complaining to management the next morning, she was upgraded to a suite and no extra cost for the rest of her stay. Excellent customer service, thank you.

Northop Hall Hotel had beautiful grounds and loads of parking. It was a little out of town so you would need a vehicle. The room was comfortable but if you have heavy luggage…be warned that there was no elevator! Overall, it was a great stay for a night. The staff were lovely!

First impressions of hotel as you drive up the drive are very good. Ample parking available. Welcome at reception was friendly and were shown room. Room was satisfactory but decor was a bit dated with adequate key lock. Beds were a little bit rocky and soft but still slept well. Breakfast was of a good size however was fried not grilled, the sausages were cheap quality and no choice of egg type.

Clean room, been partly modernised since my last visit but still somewhat dated and paintwork etc needs touching up. Was working for a week in the area, and this was a perfect base. Good connections to the A55 and plenty of parking at the hotel. The room had the basic amenities and a larger than usual television for such a room. Water took a short while to get warm, but once it was going the pressure and temperature was excellent. No bar or other hospitality services, but suited my situation, made for a quiet but comfortable hotel for a week.

The hotel did the job, but two issues, the first major one is the location does not correlate with the map on the Hotels.com site, which indicates it is in Mold town centre. So when leaving Mold after visiting, I was surprised to see a 15min journey, meaning I was 30mins from the location I was visiting on Saturday. Secondly, small shower gel and shampoos still provided, not eco friendly.

We liked the Northop Hall Hotel. The grounds are lovely, it’s got character. Nice country house. There is no breakfast or meals served. Nobody on reception, except for check ins. We found the tea/coffee in room great, and the fridge and microwave in shared dining hall useful.

The main problem was the poor choice and quality of the breakfast. On the first morning, the alternative breakfast was missing the advertised yoghurts and pastries. There were no mushrooms or tomatoes with the cooked breakfast, although these items were supposedly included. There was no choice of bread, most of the tables were half set and the general quality of the food was poor. On the second morning, there were no tomatoes or mushrooms but this time, no eggs either. This left no choice of cooked breakfast at all. Generally the hotel seemed tired and run down. The chef worked hard and tried his best but nothing he did could make up for the general delapidation.

I was not informed when booking my stay that there was no restaurant facilities. Consequently I had to go out for my evening meal- and this after a 6 hour drive to get there. No breakfast facilities. I think that I was virtually the only customer staying there. The property was surrounded by temporary mesh fencing which made you feel you were staying on a building site.

Room was ok, reception staff were friendly and showed us to our room. Breakfast was awful took an hour and a half to be given a menu and then had to remind the guy to take our order and everyone around us said the food was awful and we are wasting our time so we went elsewhere

When I booked this 4 night break is was because I had stayed before. On arrival the place was deserted apart for the receptionist, totally run down, no breakfast was available, and the bar and restaurant were no in use. Upon being given my key I was informed that the front was locked at 10pm and I would have to use a code to gain access. This did not make me feel safe at all. Especially as there was no where but your bedroom to sit in. Whilst back at my daughters as was not looking forward to returning to the hotel. Neither daughter or her husband were happy about me staying there as it was so run down and not fit for purpose for my safety. Therefore I would ask that I be refunded my money. Please contact me for any more information on this matter. Also I would recommend someone from your company go and check out this venue.

This was once a lovely venue and could be again, but not at the moment. You are greeted by a dark wooden staircase which hides the reception, said staircase was dusty and noisy, probably was carpeted but not now. Met by stained carpet at the top and stained carpet in the room, Bit of a turn off but room was clean with a 4 poster bed and a well done bathroom. The fan in the room was brilliant and much appreciated as it was hot. I love an independent hotel but I’d prefer shabby chic - this was a a bit too shabby for me. Didn’t have breakfast there and never smelled bacon so not sure what the drill was there. Paid a reasonable price for the 3 nights so that was something. But wouldn’t book this place again.

No staff on reception to welcome charged an extra £60 pounds for early check in and we were the only people staying no bar open at all the room had exposed drain pipes not boxed in very dated needs refurbish this has the potential to be a good hotel
