Residence Inn by Marriott Philadelphia Valley Forge/Collegeville

Overall, the facility was quite good, but I was VERY disappointed to find that the hot tub was out of order. One of my first criteria for a hotel i whether it has a hot tub and that was the primary reason that I chose the Residence Inn at this location. Cannot tell you how much that mattered to me. It would have been appropriate to notify me in advance that one of the amenities was unavailable. Just good customer service. I will not likely choose another Residence Inn as a result.

Requested extra pillow and was rudely told that they did not have any and there was nothing she could do. There were also never clean towels at the pool. There were a lot of kids in town for a baseball tournament and the hotel staff did not make any effort to keep up. Went to use the hot tub in the morning and the pool area was filthy with dirty towels and trash everywhere. The rooms were very large and spacious though.

Stayed here because it was close to the Philadelphia Expo Center. It was only about 8 mins away. The parking was easy find, easy to park, and well lit. The girl at the front desk was very nice, polite and helpful when checking in. She explained all the amenities. Our room; was clean when we arrived, easy to find. There was a full size fridge, microwave and a stovetop to cook along with utensils/plates if you wanted to make your own food. Bathroom was spacious and the shower had hot water. The bed was comfortable and I got good sleep. Controls for heat /Ac worked. We enjoyed the hottub that was next to the pool, it was very hot! The pool is also heated and nice to cool off in. Everything was clean which was a relief. There’s a lobby bar which was nice to have a drink on the property. Two drinks were about $18. The bartender was nice. The breakfast had a decent selection to choose from. They had waffles (toppings bar), potatoes, egg,(cheese for add-in) sausages, cereal selection, hot oatmeal, muffins (a gluten-free option), fresh fruit, yogurt and some more. There was a basketball court outside and a firepit to sit around but it was too chilly for us to be outside.

It’s was excellent. The only problem was the pool had too much Clorox and the jacuzzi didn't work.

This will be my first negative review of this property. We had no housekeeping during the 5 nights that we stayed here, even after being assured by 3 people at the desk that they would take care of it the night before checkout (one of whom I believe was the manager). After being out all day and returning only to find that we had NOT had housekeeping like requested, I had to go back down and request clean towels. I understand that Christmas day fell in the middle of our trip, but no housekeeping at all was inexcusable. The indoor pool is not heated in this property. Basically the water was freezing and the hot tub was overflowing with brown bubbles. We stayed on the 4th floor and all we could hear was constant traffic and actually could feel the rumblings from trucks. Our numerous previous stays at this location had all been decent. This stay is making us rethink our hotel choice for upcoming visits. A positive: the breakfast was quite decent. The rest: forget about it! ☹️

Love, love, love the breakfast options. Travel often and have stayed at many hotels but this has the best breakfast options. Everything was delicious, fresh, and there were also healthy options. The pool, hot tub and gym were all clean and smelled nice. Bed was comfy and the kitchenette area including large refrigerator was super handy. this will be my #1 preference to stay in the area.

It was my first time booking a hotel, and I loved the relaxed atmosphere of the hotel. The provided perks with free breakfast, wifi, gym, and pool also added to the pleasant stay. The only things in terms of criticism were the hot tub was out of order (more disappointing than anything), the gym felt a little neglected, and payment was less straightforward than anticipated (though that could be on me). Overall, it was nice, and if given the option, I would return.

There is an in door pool that is very cold and not heated. They allow people tp play basketball outside until 11:00.

This made our week long stay very comfortable. There was a full hot and cold breakfast buffet, with different hot foods daily. Thus was delicious! Our teen enjoyed the basketball court, pool and workout room too.

Nice clean facility and very friendly staff.

We did find two cockroaches in our room, whenever we first got there. I was able to kill one and the other one was in the dishwasher in the room but escaped.

There were bed bugs in the bed. I had to check out shortly after checking in.

room was never cleaned, broken coffee maker, no replacement. HAd to go get clean linen. found hairpins on the carpet. Big stain in the cover by what would have been my face. nice breakfast front desk friendly front desk staff.

Second floor smelled of weed smoke. Went to grab an additional pillow from the closet in our room and both were stained with what looked like blood.

I recently stayed here with my boyfriend and our 18 month old son. We has SUCH a comfortable and relaxing stay. We kept talking about how homey and great everything here was. We loved having a full kitchen and a living room. It gave us more space for our son to move around and for us to be able to have dinner with ease. We loved the pool as well, The property is beautiful and the staff is very friendly, especially, Carmen! Will definitely stay here again if we're in the area. Thank you!

Wasnt expecting the kitchen part of the room, but a nice spacious room and bathroom

This has to be one of the LOUDEST hotels I've ever stayed in. Morning 1: doors could be heard slamming on all floors. I asked for the end of a hallway for the quiet. It ended up being the LOUDEST end of a hall I've ever had. The lighting is dated and dark. The bathroom mirror needed a brighter light, too. For the price, I'd probably stay at a house next time.

When we arrived, we asked for a room away from the highway, our first room (403) was directly next to and looking at the highway, the noise was too much to deal with. Apparently, all the Queen beds suites are on the side of the highway- odd number looking at it, the even side is on the other side of the corridor and much quieter. We immediately asked to be moved. Our second room (106) was extremely worn, the sofa looked broken, the bathroom tiles were failing off, some plugs didn't work, and the AC was very loud. We stayed one night there since wedding party in hotel and was told no other rooms except back to 403. Our third and final room (306) everything worked and wasn't failing apart. The AC wasn't as noisy, only the vent in the bedroom directs all the air to the bed closes to the window and I ended up with slight head cold because of it. Housekeeping was a miss, the only day they came they never cleaned the sink, they missed the 2nd day, so we had to get our own towels from the front desk. I never hear a vacuum cleaner being used, so not sure how clean the place really is. The breakfast is ok they provided scramble eggs, turkey bacon, potatoes and a premade sandwich or waffles. We were able to make your own waffles, they had a lot of options for toppings. They also provided cereal, yogurts, breads, and muffins. The location for us was perfect. It was close to family and the area we needed to be in. The noise from the highway in our rooms was insane. I had to run the AC fan all night long just to get some sleep, and the AC fan was noisy but better then speeding cars, honking or trucks going by all night long. The set up in the room was nice, good size kitchen, living to bed and bath area. I love the hair care products and when Housekeeping came the room was clean. The breakfast for me was a hit or miss. One day it was good, then next not so much. I pool needs maintenance, I never got a chance to use the gym, but it looked good.

Enjoyed having the kitchenette available. The bed was so comfortable. And the shower was spacious and modern, not the typical tub/shower combo you find at most hotels.

I like the property being tucked away from everything, it made me feel safe. Ironically the highway was just a throwing distamce from the hotel (not directly accessible, just visible) yet it remained silent in our room. My own issue is that the staff that checked me in my first room actually gave me a not fully finished cleaned room (we have to wipe some stuff down with residue) but she also didnt understand i was willing to wait for a room and wasnt demanding the early check-in i was there to see if i could get it. As well as when i was told my card wouldnt be ran it was- when i asked to ensure they dont donit again and to leave a note- it was still attempted. There was a lack of communicating between shifts or actually listening to what was being said. Im in the hotel business as a front desk person so the misunderstanding that was happening only made me frusterated and irritable that i had to worry about my card being turned off- and i dont understand why i couldnt give you cash for the room in advance, and run the incidental on my card.. it wouldve made the experience less exhausting. You also had a long term guest that was drunk and fell over with her dog in the sprinklers, good on the staff for video taping but not helping. The women face planted on the sidewalk after being helped up by myself and other guests.

I loved the location and the breakfast but unfortunately there was extremely loud guests on our floor until after 4am (sounded like a party), we called to complain after 3am but nothing was done!!

I prepaid for a king suite for three adults. When I got to the hotel they magically did not have the room I previously paid for. Were very reluctant to make it right. Ended up paying for another room which I will of course be disputing.

Everything about this hotel was wonderful. Carmen at the front desk was so friendly and professional. She went above and beyond. Todd, the bartender was just the nicest man.

The hotel was absolutely stunning and so were the rooms. The staff were so friendly and helped to the fullest extent. I’m so excited to make this my go-to hotel spot. So I will definitely becoming back again!

Stayed while visiting family in the area. It is a beautiful property and the price was a great value. The only negative thing was that the lamp in the room didn't have a light bulb. I call down to rhe front desk and was told that they didn't know where theblight bulbs were but they would look for one andwr us know either way. We never heard back. The next morning, I called down to the front desk again. They said they would have someone come right ul to put in a light bulb. Again, no one showed up and never heard back. Finally, my wife stopped a housekeeper in the hallway to see if she had a light bulb. She immediately got on her phone and spoke with someone in maintenance. The lightbulb showed up within the hour. I know it was not a big deal. We were actually laughing about how many hotel workers does it take to change a lightbulb but thought you should know. Maybe let the front desk staff know where the lightbulbs are.

It was a very restful stay in a nice and quiet location.

The location is great, just across the road from lots of shopping and dining. The staff is really nice and the rooms are comfortable. I've been before and I'm sure I will be there again.

Hotel is nearby to a food plaza which has lot of food options. I really liked the king studio!

Easy access and close to highway but not on highway. Clean spacious suite with nice set up. If you don't like eating out all the time, perfect kitchen area with all that you need to stay in for a meal or two although restaurants were within a short driving distance. There was a sidewalk around the neighborhood making it very nice for a morning run or walk. The area felt safe and clean.

The hotel was nice. The only bill reason we picked the hotel was because it had a hot tub. When we arrived, the hot tub was down for Maintaince, We could not get an answer as to when it would be repaired. The front desk attendant had poor communication skills and did not have a professional appearance. The breakfast food was luke warm. We never saw a manager on duty. There appeared to be a lack of management oversight

Beautiful room and excellent free breakfast

I am very confused why Marriott's serve breakfast only through 9:00 am. It creates the obvious cluster of guests from 8:20-9:00 am. Really??!!

Check in was easy and pleasant. The continental breakfast was probably the best we’ve ever had.
