This is an amazing and unique property it is the old John Deere plant next door to the John Deere visitor center and with a great BBQ restaurant connected to the hotel. The rooms are huge and quiet and comofrtable. This is a don't miss property.

It's a really beautiful hotel with amazing in-room workspaces and has easy access to stroll downtown when you need to unwind after a day of meetings. All the amenities are there, from Starbucks to solid BBQ, a full bar, and sundries to take upstairs in your room. The hostess was also super helpful and professional.

This hotel was great, however my room did not cleaned. All three trash cans were full and I went to front desk and was told they would get someone up to clean because my room was not on the list for cleaning. This was on Sunday and I had been there since Friday.

The Courtyard Waterloo is a fantastic engineering and architecture design work with a great history as a repurposed John Deere industrial building. However, here are a few things that made the stay sterile and somewhat 'blah.' It has so much going for it but, and here are the buts: (1) Breakfast ($$$); (2) Parts of the hotel are not clean and well maintained -- e.g., the elevator; (3) rooms are not soundproof, and the walls are paper thin; (4) rooms weren't maintained for the three-day stay (despite asking to freshen up the room). This hotel needs a tighter shift in terms of management, or else it will start losing its edge -- and I think it already is. At $200 per night -- I do think it's worth at least one night stay for the experience

Beautiful building , but unfortunately it seems understaffed . Room was poorly cleaned ( or not cleaned at all). Staff did not seem to care much . I will say that the staff at the cafe were lovely . Absolutely loved the size of the rooms and the actual building, but would not come back since customer service was truly lacking , and cleanliness .

The fridge was not clean. A lack of toilet paper in the bathroom. The water pressure in the shower was very poor. There was a constant “air sound” heard when we were sleeping at night. Like wind going through a cave. And this was not coming from the vent. More from the door/hallway. We were excited to stay at this hotel because we were told how nice it was. Sad that it did not come out that way.

Great experience! I was impressed with the overall quality and appearance of the facility. The room was very quiet, spacious and clean. With the addition of a new restaurant, this will be an amazing hotel! I have found my future home away from home when visiting Waterloo.

I've stayed at several hotels over the last 30 years, in several different US states and other countries and this was by far, one of the worst stays I've had. The walls are paper thin. We could hear our neighbor unzipping their luggage as if they were in the room next to us. We could hear people walking up and down the halls, talking, coughing. It was like we were all in the same room. There's no air flow so you'll need to get a fan or it's super stuffy. No exhaust fan in the bathroom so depending on the temperature of your room and your shower, there could be quite the difference. The beds are soft so, not good if you have back issues. Essentially no lighting in the room, aside from some very dim track lighting and a few dimly lit lamps on either side of the room. I guess I could say it was clean. Looks nice from the outside but poorly constructed building.

The rooms here are huge. And clean. Cavernous almost. Beds were VERY COMFORTABLE. with a pillow top. AC worked so we weren’t sweltering in the summer heat and humidity. Will stay again.

I have been staying at this hotel for the last 4 times I’ve visited Iowa and this time was by far the worst. The AC in my room was not working and when I notified the staff all I was told was “well do the best we can to fix it” it was never fixed and I was never offered a new room. I want to continue staying at this hotel because I have had no issues prior to this time but if I can’t get some kind of reimbursement for my money then I will no longer be staying. Thanks for the concern!

My room was really hot when I arrived so I called the front desk. They said they would turn it on or something, but it never cooled down. I also asked for a microwave and they said they don't provide microwaves for anyone who stays less than 14 days in the "ambassador suite" Did I step into the twilight zone? This place is wierd. There's only one working elevator and the pool is on the 5th or 6th floor.

I've stayed at this hotel many times and normally have a great stay. This was my first time having poor service. The a/c wasn't working the first two of my three day stay, my room was 77 degrees. I informed the front desk clerk (younger female) of the issue along with a stool cover being extremely loose, Ice maker on 3rd floor not working, needing extra towels, and sheets replaced on my third day of stay. I had to inquire three times before the more mature desk clerk was able resolve my a/c issue and provide additional towels. The other items were never resolved.

The walls are extremely thin, we stayed on the 2nd floor. Heard a guy having a phone conversation I could repeat verbatim… sounded like he was in our room. The baby coos the next morning were cute tho… glad she was happy. My fiancé thinks he got athletes foot from the shower. The bottles in the shower are refillable but our body wash was good for one person one time and it was gone. I thought the cleanliness was fine but he said paying attention to the details like bodywash make him think they do a quick scan and possibly don’t disinfect well enough. The fridge will NOT hold leftover containers bigger that 4x4, the bistro and smokehouse are good eats and overall friendly staff.

Once again, no free breakfast as hotels.com promises. I have pointed this out to the hotel and hotels.com and no one seems to care about the false advertising. Also, this is the 4th time at this hotel that the shower was hot but zero hot water comes from the sink so I AGAIN had to fill a wastebasket in the shower with hot water and dump it into the sink so that I could shave. Seriously!?!

Beautiful building , but unfortunately it seems understaffed . Room was poorly cleaned ( or not cleaned at all). Staff did not seem to care much . I will say that the staff at the cafe were lovely . Absolutely loved the size of the rooms and the actual building, but would not come back since customer service was truly lacking , and cleanliness .

We did a one night stay here as part of our drive back home from a week long trip. It was a good spot to stop, easy to park, check in and out was a breeze and we were in our room within 10 minutes. The 2 bedroom worked great for the family overnight. Additionally, the attached Smokehouse restaurant was super convenient, we were able to order and take to-go food up to the room to eat!

I've stayed at this hotel many times and normally have a great stay. This was my first time having poor service. The a/c wasn't working the first two of my three day stay, my room was 77 degrees. I informed the front desk clerk (younger female) of the issue along with a stool cover being extremely loose, Ice maker on 3rd floor not working, needing extra towels, and sheets replaced on my third day of stay. I had to inquire three times before the more mature desk clerk was able resolve my a/c issue and provide additional towels. The other items were never resolved.

Our TV did not work upon check in and despite our requests to have it looked at no one even came into the room during the day while we were out. Nice hotel but customer service was definitely lacking.

This is an amazing and unique property it is the old John Deere plant next door to the John Deere visitor center and with a great BBQ restaurant connected to the hotel. The rooms are huge and quiet and comofrtable. This is a don't miss property.

It's a really beautiful hotel with amazing in-room workspaces and has easy access to stroll downtown when you need to unwind after a day of meetings. All the amenities are there, from Starbucks to solid BBQ, a full bar, and sundries to take upstairs in your room. The hostess was also super helpful and professional.

This is my 3rd stay at this hotel in 3 months. Everytime I book it says free breakfast but there is NOT free breakfast at this hotel. 2 out of my 3 stays there was hot water in the shower but despite this there is no hot water in the sink. I had to fill up the garbage can with hot water for the shower and dump it in the sink to shave. I have this hotel booked 3 more times in the next 2 months but am seriously considering switching to another local hotel.

Once again, no free breakfast as hotels.com promises. I have pointed this out to the hotel and hotels.com and no one seems to care about the false advertising. Also, this is the 4th time at this hotel that the shower was hot but zero hot water comes from the sink so I AGAIN had to fill a wastebasket in the shower with hot water and dump it into the sink so that I could shave. Seriously!?!

The staff was nice and helpful but the hotel is rundown and in need of maintenance. Had an elevator not working and the a/c turned off every two hours and wouldn’t cool the room down.

I love staying here, and always do when in Waterloo, but this time it really sucked when a chorus of mowing/leaf blowing started at 6:30 a.m. I was 5 floors up and it still managed to cut through my earplugs, waking me well before I wanted to get up and still going strong when I left my room at 9 a.m.. It would be cool in the future if the football field's worth of grass was maybe mowed later in the day, especially on behalf of your guests for whom 6:30 feels more like 4:30.

Outstanding place to stay. I booked a suite with 2 queen beds and 1 king. Checked in went to room and only 1 king in each bedroom. It worked but was not what I booked. The hotel was clean and had a fun environment. Would stay again.
