We booked three weeks at Gardener's Cottage, at short notice, and were immensely pleased that we did. The cottage stands in its own grounds in the village of Shipton-under-Wychwood and has a good sized parking space out front. It's built in the lovely, yellow, Cotswold stone, complete with stone shingles, but has been well refurbished without altering the character of the place. Downstairs are two large living rooms, one with a useable log stove, a dining room and large, well equipped kitchen. Upstairs are three reasonably sized bedrooms, and two bathrooms. The bathroom off the main bedroom is huge, well appointed and has a great walk-in shower, two sinks, and the washer and dryer (in a cupboard!). The walled garden is large, given over to grass and it has a big patio area complete with outdoor furniture and a small barbeque. While we didn't get the weather to sit outside much, it was sheltered and looked lovely. The whole cottage was clean and tidy, and came with all linens, There was a large welcome pack of things like coffee, tea, and eggs, which was much appreciated. The kitchen was large enough and sufficiently well equipped to have prepared a considerable meal for quite a few guests. There were books, games and DVDs provided, and two TVs. Internet was provided, and the owners had done well to make sure that most of the house had Wi-Fi coverage, given the thickness of the walls. The road outside was reasonably busy, but the whole house is fully double-glazed and road noise simply was not an issue. We spent three very comfortable weeks at Gardener's Cottage, feeling that it really was a home from home, and would happily spend another three weeks there. I would highly recommend this cottage to any families wishing to spend time in the Cotswolds.

Beautiful property! Great location for exploring the Cotswolds. Children loved the toys and the upstairs area for playing. Hope to return!

The Barn is in a great location for so many excursions- Oxford, Bath, Blenheim Palace and all the beautiful Cotswolds villages. Also the local town of Burford has everything you need. The accommodation was very comfortable, peaceful and had all mod cons. Would thoroughly recommend.

We loved our stay at Gardners Cottage. The location was perfect in a quite village but not too far from a number of attractions and other villages. We visited Oxford for an afternoon tea riverboat cruise which was a lovely afternoon with lovely food and a great guide. We also visited the Cotswold Wildlife Park. This is a beautiful wildlife park with wide open spaces for the animals which you can get up close to. There are a number of other villages in close proximity with Burford being the closest and which had a number of lovely tea rooms which we loved.

We spent a week as a family at Gardeners Cottage. The cottage was absolutely lovely and a pleasure to stay in from the first day to the last. It was clean, well presented with lovely furniture and a well equipped kitchen. The little touches of a hamper on arrival and tea/coffee available made all the difference. We had a short call with the owner prior to arrival to sort access to the keys etc and she was very kind and welcoming. All in all an amazing week of walks, pub dinners and board games around the wood burner fireplace. We would love to come back - thank you.
