Lovely cottage. All the amenities you want. great bathroom, kitchen. Great location for Grasmere and eating out in the evening. We would book again for the walks in the area too.

Great location nestled under helm crag outside grasmere. Reasonably sized stone cottage for our family of 5 (3kids 10-15). Generally clean with nice bathroom (complete with heated towel rail and underfloor heating). Some minor picky points however... The Shower was great but the tank empties very quickly with the large shower head, and goes cold quickly. So had to reheat the tank a couple of times and stagger shower times to get family through the shower. Heating setup was also rather odd. There are twice as many storage heaters upstairs to downstairs, resulting in downstairs being quite cold, but upstairs often too hot. Recommend the open fire in the winter - but its a pain to have to get all the matches/paper/kindling/logs - not provided. Lack of wifi is a bit backward in this day and age - Particularly with phone signal not being brilliant. wont bother some though . The entrance to the cottage driveway is very tight too if you have a big car like our ford galaxy. Recommend booking ahead for all the local restaurants. Overall generally ok and good value for money.

We stayed with our 5 and 4yo sons. Great access to Helm Crag and Grasmere. It was close enough for the facilities but in a quiet peaceful spot. We did have a bit of difficulty finding the house originally because the instructions refer to a Youth Hostel, but there are two close together. The house I think says one double and one single (and another room with bunks) but I think they were a king and a double..that was a nice surprise. The bathroom is lovely and modern, with a large shower - although the bath was quite uncomfortable! Kitchen had everything you'd need, except perhaps more microwaveable dishes. Overall we had a great time and would recommend
