⭐ 5/5 — The Siren Hotel is a true Detroit gem! Beautifully designed, cozy, and full of charm. The staff were warm and welcoming, the Candy Bar is stunning, and the location is perfect for exploring downtown. I’ll definitely stay here again — it’s stylish, comfortable, and unforgettable.

Everything was great! I will stay again. Valet is my only complaint. There is always a line because they sit on their phones and do not acknowledge customers until there is a line. This happened during check-in and out.

Beautiful hotel with lively cafe and bar on the ground floor. Excellent, responsive service (although there are no phones in the room, so you'll have to call the front desk on your cell phone). Located in a perfect part of town to talk to the 3 major sports stadiums and great restaurants/bars.

Quirky but cool! The Candy Bar is excellent! Everyone on staff was very friendly and professional. Lots to do in the area if the 4 on-site bars and the cafe aren’t your speed for some reason. Will definitely book again if coming to the area.

Stay was an overwhelmingly Meh. Didnt valet because the line was insane. Park at the Z garage around the corner. Lobby was dingy. You could tell upkeep is not a priority here. Staff/reception were new to hospitality, or just bad attitudes. DEI vibes with them. Room was small, but we knew that going in. Room and bathroom also poorly lit. Had a nice view on the 7th floor of the Opera House. Shower had a good bit of mold/mildew, especially noticeable on the glass block. Two in hotel bars looked OK, but small and way cramped. Oh yeah, bed/linens were fine.

The room I was given was moldy and not clean. The smell was strong right when you got off the elevator on the 13th floor. It seems it’s been an issue for awhile but hasn’t been addressed. If they give you room 1305 ask to switch immediately. I was congested the whole trip due to the mold. I was switched to a room next door on the same floor so I was still close to the contaminated areas. The chairs in the room were for a doll house and sink down when you sat in them. The beds were very uncomfortable. The location was good for the concert I attended and the staff was very friendly, but the rooms were below average. For the price and the conditions, I don’t feel my money was well spent.

Having never stayed in downtown Detroit we were happy with our room and the ambiance of the hotel until we climbed into bed, where we found a pair of women’s socks in between the sheets at the foot of the bed. The room appeared to have been cleaned when we arrived, and there was even a nice welcome note on the bed.

This hotel has a mold issue form the time I walked into the room could not stop sneezing with watery eyes and when I went to the front desk to change rooms they said they were booked, each day I tried to change rooms but each time they would not help and then another guest heard me and had the same issue they do nothing to help and I sent an email to the manager just now and will follow up tomorrow to see about compensation

We actually had to wait sometime after 3p to check-in, as the hotel staff stated they were "booked out" the night before. However, this was not a big deal. The next morning when we left our hotel room, we left the sign in front of the door for housekeeping but it had fallen off so housekeeping did not go by. We then informed the front desk staff to have housekeeping stop by on our way out to dinner, we were gone for several hours yet housekeeping still did not go by. For the 3 nights we spent in the hotel, we had no housekeeping services. Additionally our AC stopped working, which was thankfully fixed while we were out for the day. Lastly, as a "silver member" on hotels.com I had a pass for two beverages at the hotel bar, when I brought this up with the front desk staff they went on to say "I am not even sure why it keeps telling you guys that when we don't honor this". They did give me the pass for two drinks eventually, however it was a very unprofessional interaction. Overall, this hotel and my stay was below average. It is extremely noisy outside, the rooms are not soundproof. Room was very small and not worth the money I spent for 3 nights.

The location of the Siren is wonderful and we enjoyed the bars (Ash and Candy bar) on the property. Unfortunately, the room was not what we expected it to be. We know the hotel is old and has a lot of “vintage” flair to it, but the room was outright dirty. We booked a double Queen bed (not by choice, but because that’s all that was available) and the first bed we went to get into had large visible yellow/brown spots all over it. We move over to the other bed, pull back the comforter and there were black pieces of unknown substance all over the bed. By the time we went to bed and found the bed conditions, housekeeping had already left for the day. In the room itself, there were multiple scratches all over the walls, missing light fixtures, and issues with our hot water in the shower (only got warm and wouldn’t get warmer once it hit a certain temperature). For $500 a night, this hotel was not worth it to us despite the convenient location. We hope the hotel can do better in the future as all of these issues could have been prevented. Expedia was wonderful with addressing our concerns and the hotel was as accommodating as they could be, but we were not offered another room.

Clean room but small and very old building. We were up eight floors and could still hear club music and partiers late into the night making it hard to sleep. We were in the front of the building w three windows which was nice for a view but not for the noise. The place was historic and had character and good coffee.

It was overall good but lord if you’re in the street side of the building until well after midnight. No fridge in the small but charming room. No closet, just 4 hangers and 2 hooks to hang any clothes. No frills but expected a little more for the price. Good location however of course

The good first- very conveniently located as we were in town for a football game at ford field. The staff were very pleasant. It’s a very cute boutique hotel. The bad- the rooms are temperature controlled and it was freezing, they kindly gave us a space heater but that was not ideal. The hot water in the showers took 3-4 minutes to get warm. The rooms are small, which was okay but having to pay for bottled water was not cool esp because the sink water was cloudy. The elevator is as slow as molasses.

We really enjoyed the Siren. It is eclectic and fun and the people who work there were friendly and helpful and the Ash Bar had great food. One detail- The room had tiny little desk lamp lighting only. No overhead so it was quite dark in the dusk/ evening and the bathroom needed brighter light for putting on makeup. I LOVED the pink robe that I was able to use. It was walkable downtown area that was clean. Only thing is downtown detroit is mostly food and hotels. It's far out to go to museums etc.

The staff was great. There should be a better disclaimer about the pool being at the YMCA and not on site. Our room was very hot and we couldn’t adjust it. We asked at the desk and they said it’s one AC unit for the floor. It remained quite hot in the room. The room was also very small.

Looooved this hotel! My goodness the STAFF! Ivory, Onyx and the coffee bar people - all above and beyond. Although my mattress could have used an updating, just based on the vibe and the quality of staff, the friendliness, the attention and the amazing decor, I will never stay anywhere else in motor City.

Everything was great! I will stay again. Valet is my only complaint. There is always a line because they sit on their phones and do not acknowledge customers until there is a line. This happened during check-in and out.

Check in staff was great friendly fast and informative. Morning girl NOT so much...and her and the coffee girl chatted while custeromers waited , not long, but, none the less waited

I absolutely adore this hotel! This is my second visit, and I’m sure I’ll return. As locals, we’ve found our new favorite spot for staycations. The pink robes are simply delightful! Ivory, who assisted us at the front desk, made us feel like VIPs with his warm and accommodating service. I can hardly wait for our next staycation!

I left a fairly expensive pair of sunglasses. I called the front desk and they set me up with a shipping service they use. I got them back in less than a week over a holiday. Also, the place was great. Will stay again.

We were given keys to a room that was already occupied! We opened the door to our room to find someone sleeping on the bed. Absolutely absurd that this mistake happened. How horrific for the person who was burst in on late at night. Once we got into a new room, the room was ok-certainly not worth the price. The bathroom door wouldn’t shut all the way or lock. The thermostat kept resetting to a colder temperature. The room was very loud. I’ve stayed at many budget hotels that were far nicer than the Siren.

Showed up to check-in at 5:30p.m to check-in. Was told by Ivory that room wasn't ready and he tried to push me some drink vouchers for the inconvenience which I didn't want or need. The interaction was far from pleasurable. I had to go do dinner(somewhere else) and couldn't check-in until 7:30p.m. Room was pretty good overall but don't like the showers didn't have doors or curtains. I asked for a later check-out and was giving an extra 30minutes only. So I feel it was a pretty bad deal overall. Valet is a separate company and demanded I paid up-front which is crazy. I would stay again but, it wouldn't be high on my list.

our check in was two hours late because of a housekeeping shortage - I definitely understand that sometimes the unexpected happens, but there wasn’t an estimate about when the room would be ready and it would have been nice if we got comped a drink at the bar or something, but no comp. Otherwise it’s a cute hotel and I liked my stay

The property is very unique. Reminded me of an old time hotel but modernized. Very clean and staff was friendly. Located downtown and walkable to several restaurants and attractions. I will stay again when visiting.

This is a lovely boutique hotel that is a nice alternative to big-name hotels. Having said that, my room was on the small side; I was a single traveler and managed ok, but I can't see a couple being comfortable in it. Additionally, the window was not soundproof, so street traffic and the PeopleMover stopping and starting were very audible. I had to use a white noise app on my phone to try to drown out the noise. The Siren should invest in soundproof windows to make the customer experience more relaxing.

I really loved the vibe of this place! Very vintage and much different from any other hotel I have stayed at. Very convenient and within walking distance to all of the stadiums and arenas. Our lock on the door did not work so we called maintenance to fix it and they said they did but it still did not lock so that was a bummer and made us feel a bit unsafe. But other than that, it was great! Nice staff at the front counter, valet parking was easy (but expensive, $40) and the Candy Bar was a unique experience! I recommend this hotel for it's unique feel & for being so close to all the hot spots in Downtown Detroit!

Beautiful hotel with so much charm and character. Client service was superb. Beautiful gift shops with great products. The cafe serves delicious coffee and matcha. We loved the candy bar. There is a piano karaoke bar around the corner which is a must visit as well!

It's located in the old Wurlitzer Piano Factory, the decor is very eclectic and cool, rooms are uniquie as well. Candy Bar is fabulous as well as the restaurant onsite. Perfect location to theaters/areanas as well as a block from Woodward shopping.

A very unique hotel!! Loved the old fashioned feel of the lobby. The Candy Bar was great, as was the coffee shop in the lobby!!?Room was a bit small for four of us. Would’ve been perfect for two. Could use a few more modern amenities (ie. hooks for clothes in bathroom, more/better lights, better thermostat). Great location and the staff was very friendly!! People Mover is right out the door. Would definitely stay here again!

The hotel was great fun. The Candy bar was truly special and the drinks were amazing. Alec was a terrific bar tender. Ivory, at the desk was very welcoming. He was enjoyable. The room was clean and comfortable. If you want a change of pace and not a usual place, try the Siren! PS the coffee is terrible.

Rooms were okay. No upgrade amenities. My tv didn’t work. Would love to have had a coffee maker in the room or refrigerator. Especially considering the cafe was only partial service. Day two they had no food, day three no milk to make coffee. Had to scramble to go off premise for breakfast. Restaurant is not open 7 days. So again had to scramble to find somewhere safe to walk for dinner.

Rooms facing the street are very noisy. Didn’t fall asleep before 3am. Given the proximity to nightclubs that continue past 2am, it would be more appealing to stay here if they had noon checkout vs 11am (with 4pm check-in vs 3pm, to allow for room cleaning). The room decor is nice but impractical. Style over substance. Can’t tell how clean the hotel is with corridors so dark you couldn’t tell lol.

If you're bringing your family to Detroit, stay elsewhere. Most of the rooms at the Siren are very small. Small, but quite nice. Our bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean, nicely appointed, and fully functional. Siren goes in a lot for style; if you're looking for that, you'll find it. Located steps from Comerica Park and Ford Field, it's a great hotel for fans in town for a game - no need to fight traffic or park for the game, just walk! The staff was cordial, professional, and helpful. The valet parking uses a terrible app that's confusing and not easy to figure out. Not a deal breaker, but also not a reason to seek the hotel out.

Fun and funky hotel near our destination. Checkin staff seemed a little indifferent but the rest of the time the staff was great, especially Mona at the cafe. The room was good sized, clean and comfortable. One challenge was the bathroom with small sink area and no hooks to hang clothes or towels. Also no safe in our room. A little pricey but it was a weekend with a football and baseball games. Lots of food options and very close to Woodward Ave main drag.
