Eighteen-Ninety Sleepover

Tydligen får man inte all information om incheckning om man har internationellt telefonnummer. Vi fick ringa runt till flera olika nummer för att få tag på koder för att komma in. Imte vad man önskar efter en lång bilresa. När vi väl kom in var rummet väldigt rent och rymligt. Vi bodde i ett rum med loft. Men det är OTROLIGT lyhört. Man hörde om någon i rummet bredvid hostade. Boendet ligger dessutom cirka 100 meter från en vältrafikerad järnväg. Det låter som tåget går mitt i rummet. Luftkonditioneringen lät också mycket, trots att vi är vana vid högljudda luftkonditioneringar så stängde vi av den till slut. Skulle aldrig bo här igen. Tur att vi bara stannade en natt. Synd med oljudet på ett annars väldigt trevligt rum. Bra att känna till för resenärer med svårighet att gå i trappor är att det är väldigt branta och smala trappor.

The hotel was in a good location in Casey. Short walks to see the "big things" , and nearby restaurants. Railroad tracks are very close so there was train noise at times. Currently the hotel is being renovated. The hotel building was built in 1890. The entry is a little rough looking. But appears clean. The desk clerk is virtual, on a screen, when you enter. He is located remotely. Always helpful if anything needed. Our room was on the first floor (an ADA room). There was plenty of space. A downside for some might be that the TV is a ROKU. So no TV available, unless you have a ROKU app.

If you're looking for a new super modern hotel, this ain't it. But if you're looking for a comfortable place with quirks and charm you should definitely check it out! That being said - there are things you need to know to make an informed decision about staying here. There isn't a normal front desk, and I guess sometimes check in is via an ipad and video call connection in the lobby. However, we were seemingly checked in ahead of time, and were sent front door and room codes via text before arrival. Helpful pictures to show the parking lots were included. The main issue: the elevator doesn't work, and based on other reviews has been out for a while. That was fine for us, BUT it is a LONG narrow flight of stairs to get to the 2nd floor, and another very narrow flight of stairs to get to the 3rd. If you have heavy bags it's not a joke (maybe 44 steps total?) Once you're up to your room, it's fine. Maybe even great. We had been moved due to construction to a different room than booked, and wound up in 302. It was really spacious, with 2 king beds. We were lucky and the weather was pleasant, so the AC unit did exactly what it needed to do. The bathroom was similarly large and shower had good pressure and hot water. The Roku TV is big enough, although the best viewing angle was from only one bed. Every floor had a coffee station available. We were not at all bothered by the relatively frequent freight trains running right outside. I'd call that a feature, not a bug.

This was our second time at the 1890's hotel. We loved it so much the first time, we wanted to go back to Casey mostly to stay at the cute boutique hotel!!! Also to see some of the missed big items and catch up on the new ones!!! The only problem we had at the hotel was there was only Roku to watch, so we had no tv to watch.
