Villas HM Paraiso del Mar

This is an underrated property. It has gorgeous, mature plants - something not found in other resorts. We loved the architecture, with grand palapas that felt like tropical Mexico. The facilities are in the process of being renovated, and our unit was quite lovely. The food is pretty good - we opted not for all-inclusive with the plan to explore options nearby but ended up eating most meals onsite because the back patio was a wonderful space and the staff were awesome (shout out to Hector, Karla, Juan, and the hostess!). And, a great amenity not to be overlooked: incredibly comfortable beach chairs. We wouldn't choose to stay anywhere else on Holbox!

The property is surrounded by a mature jungle.. it feels like you are staying in the jungle and on the beach. The location is in the middle of the 26 mile island and close to the ferry. You can walk to the village , shopping and all the restaurants. Bikes are available to rent. Take the bikes west to playa coco and east to playa mosquito. Staff here are helpful and very accommodating. The coffee and breakfast every morning was the best!

The staff was very helpful but the pool was disgusting and when I asked the front desk they claimed the sister hotel was the same.IT WAS NOT. HMPalapas pool was not green!

This property was great! Family friendly 2 pools snack bar a restaurant and very friendly and attentive staff! Special thanks to Erick from the bar/beach service he really went above and beyond to take care of all of our needs during our stay.

El Hotel fue mucho mas de lo que imaginamos. Excelente precio-calidad. Ubicado en la mejor playa (para nosotros) de Holbox. Lo unico malo era que el servicio era lentisimo en los bares

Arrived before 2pm after being up since 2am. Could not check in before 3pm. At 3:15 had to remind staff we were still waiting patiently. Suprise hit on Island tax...about 40cdn..Prefer if they just include it in the package. Property & Room was nice. Pool was down for 3-4 days. We took the breakfast option but ended up eating in town every other day for nicer options. Food is so good on the Island

Esta en una zona que no hay ruido, cerca se puede caminar a muchos lugares, el desayuno muy rico y variado. No me gustó que no hay muchas opciones de cervezas y el menú de snack puede ser más variado. La piscina estuvo sucia los dos días que estuvimos no la pudimos usar. El personal muy amable, felicidades!

Had an amazing stay at this hotel! From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. The location couldn’t be better—right on the beach with stunning views. Housekeeping did a fantastic job keeping everything spotless and fresh. As for the food and drinks, the tacos were absolutely delicious and the cocktails were on point. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a relaxing beach getaway with top-notch service!

access to the beach is great, but the hotel needs alot of work, bathroom was not clean, furniture needs upgrade. our AC broke in the middle of the night and front desk closes so nobody was there to help us. Also you NEED ID's for all your kids if not provide you will NOT be able to get your room. they do not note this before hand.

The staff are nice. i got bedbugs in the hotel. Covered by bedbug bites. Had to disinfect my entire suitcase upon return. The hotel is old.

We had bed bugs and cockroaches in our room dirty towels. We complained and nothing really was done. We will never use this brand again or recommend our clients. Which we have a base of 200plus customers.

We loved our stay here. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the property was lovely. Things like the shower head and sink could use some lime away, but the rooms were spacious, our balcony overlooking the beach was beautiful and grounds were amazing. For what you pay for, it’s well worth it. The breakfast is a great addition, and service on the beach is always nice! The pillows were super hard and big, but just leaving these comments for feedback. We would happily stay here again!

La recepción muy buena con bebida de bienvenida. Buena comida en el restaurante y buen servicio de los meseros. Lo malo fue que la llave del lavabo no servía bien, por lo que el agua sucia se estancaba. Adicional en el baño dos días seguidos encontramos cucarachas. Finalmente al check out al parecer me cobraron un refresco adicional del servibar, para no tener problemas con ellos lo pagué. Lo que quería era ya salir de ese hotel.

The hotel needs urgent maintenance. The room shower was not cleaned properly. The pool ladder was loosen, concrete surrounding the pool was cracked. The restaurant buffet can be improved, poor offer and lack of flavor. The outdoor shower between the beach and hotel is a terrible safety hazard, the water stream was pointing everywhere but the floor, there was a power cord running next to the water pipe, huge risk of electrocution. The Tiki Bar staff got confused in two occasions what we ordered, by the way, we were talking the same language, Spanish which is my mother tongue, same as theirs. I would definetely go back to this hotel once those issues are corrected.

El hospedaje fue único, el lugar está muy lindo y cómodo. Las habitaciones son muy amplias, si necesitan un poco de mantenimiento en algunas parte como por ejemplo en el baño que se ve en el techo que tiene humedad o las camas un poco más de limpieza profunda ya que las últimas dos noches amanecía con ronchitas. El personal es muy amable siempre atentos y pendientes. La zona de playa es bastante cómoda, lo mismo las zonas de albercas. Si pueden no pierdan oportunidad de ir al spa y realizarse masajes las chicas son las mejores. Nos gustó mucho y seguro regresaré

Beautiful grounds. Large room. Close to the beach

Well I would start of by saying that it is definitely a brilliant 3 star hotel with a (small) pool. By no standards we found this to be 4 stars. The Positives : 1) Breakfast. Very nice breakfast , with lot of options that also get changed on a daily basis. 2) Most service staff were really helpful , but especially the ones in the restaurant and bars. (Front desk guys seemed overworked) 3) Rooms are large with enough place to put your luggage and the hammock in the balcony (if provided) is a nice touch ! Cons: 1) Lack of attention ? We reserved for two rooms and Ofcourse even messaged at the time of reservation for these together. Forget connecting rooms but the two rooms were like on either end of the resort ! No apolobgy or explanation given. 2) Mind you, not all junior suites have a Balcony! Even though advertised. One of the rooms has a balcony but twin beds, the other had a king but no balcony. Again, no explanation provided. 3) The AC was really straining itself to cool down the room (807). We didn’t complain as it didn’t bother us and put the fan on but in peak summer this is a problem. 4) If you’ve trouble climbing, most of their rooms are up a winding wooden staircase. Would have been nice if they would give us an intimation before. The other room (232) was on the third level. 5) The mattress was good but the pillows have seen better days. 6) The bathroom was really like one in a motel. Even the basin :(

We had a very pleasant stay at Villas Paraiso Del Mar. The staff was friendly and attentive, always making us feel welcome. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the property is beautifully maintained with lush, well-kept grounds. The pool was great! Our stay included breakfast, which offered a nice variety of choices and was a great way to start the day. Overall, it was a wonderful experience.

Cambiaría las camas y almohadas

Ya no tienen casi camastros en el área de playa solo las sombrillas y no hay servicio de meseros ahí. Nos pusieron en una habitación cerca del comedor y había muchísimo ruido desde las 6:00 am por lo que no pudimos descansar. El personal es amable pero en el check in vimos que a algunas personas les dieron una bebida de cortesía, a nosotros no. Las condiciones generales no son muy buenas necesita renovarse, El internet en habitaciones es pésimo.

Hotel hat einen schöne Location und ist direkt am Meer. Es hat liegen direkt am Meer und ca 15Meter dahinter. Somit auch genügend Platz. Bis zum Zentrum sind es ca. 10-15 Gehminuten. Leider haben nicht alle Zimmer einen Balkon, obwohl das geschrieben wird. Zimmer sind aureichend und passend zu Holbox. Preisleistung stimmt.

The beds were very hard. The chairs on the patio were not comfortable. It was a very long 10 day stay. I would not stay here again or recommend it to someone I like.

We enjoyed our stay at Villas HM Paraiso del Mar. Here's what we liked (in no particular order): 1. It was on a nice part of the island - not too busy, but walking distance to town, Punto Mosquito, and lots of restaurants and shops in between. 2. The beach was great, and access was easy. 3. The staff was amazing. Antonio and Carlos were terrific. The servers at breakfast were attentive and welcoming each day. The housekeeping staff was also fantastic. Everyone worked hard to make sure the guests were taken care of. 4. The breakfast was wonderful - there were lots of options and there was also a made-to-order egg/omelet station. 5. Our room was spacious and the shower was enormous. 6. The swimming pool area was generally a nice, peaceful place to relax. There is plenty of room between the loungers; they're not all crammed together like in some places. What we would improve: 1. The place is a bit tired and worn and could use some freshening up. 2. The rooms on the second and third floors had a rickety, narrow, curved staircase with a rope for a railing. Seemed pretty hazardous. We were initially in a second floor room but requested to move to the first floor, which happened the following day. The first floor room was also larger than the second floor room, with a nice terrace with chairs and a hammock. 3. The chairs on our terrace were very uncomfortable - metal frame with roping for the seat and back.

Pesimo servicio, solo a los extranjeros les dan la atención tanto en recepción del bar, en la playa y restaurante. Desde mi llegada pedi cambio de habitación ya que las de terraza es complicado te la asigen, a los extranjeros bebida de bienvenida, en el bar pedi comida no la tuvieron lista, regrese y nadie me ayudo con mis platos, al check out ni siquiera me ofrecieron taxi para ferry. Y mi depósito de las toallas, aun no se refleja cuando ya pasaron mas de 2 dias que ellos indicaron. No lo recomiendo

This place was amazing!!! Beautiful grounds, pools, buildings, rooms, bars/restaurants. Friendly and helpful staff. Great location with walkable access to both town and the more natural end of the beach. Great price with a wonderful buffet breakfast option. The room was very beautiful and comfortable.

Disfrutemos mucho estar el Holbox y hospedarnos en HM. El cuarto super comodo y tranquilo, el hotel esta a pie de playa y el mar esta HERMOSO!!! El check in fue muy facil. El desayuno esta super bien. La comida y cena esta rica pero le falta variedad.Las bebidas muy sabrosas. Erick en el bar de la alberca nos atendio super bien, muy amable. Dar un paseo en bici estuvo super. Sin duda regresariamos al hotel.

We loved the property, the location was not bad, we would have preferred the bell staff to deliver our luggage to the room which was upstairs on arrival. Also when we departed we had to carry our bags to reception, not bad but would have preferred them to be picked up. Next would be the greeting no one greeted us unless we were going to eat int he restaurant, maybe we are spoiled because we are used to people whomever they are and whatever their position would at least greet us with a hello. Overall, we had a good time and the place was beautiful, we did a tour of the island and also did the bioluminescent tour. We will go back to the island not sure we will stay here again, but it was not a bad experience.

The Villas HM Paraiso has professional staff, delicious food, lush/beautiful gardens and the beaches on the island are some of the best with soft white sand and blue- green waters. The all inclusive package was well worth it and we had beach service also. I would definitely visit again!

The hospitality was rude and terrible attitude from the staff at the front. It felt like I was bothering them and they didn’t wish to help. It’s not my first time on the Island but this is the first time at Villa HM Paraíso. Definitely my last time staying at the hotel. When I asked to see about possibly checking in early after a long flight. The staff refused to check if my room was ready. We arrived at 7am did all the paperwork required to get a room. Then given wristbands for the property. Once that part was completed the staff asked to come back at 3pm. My girlfriend and me didn’t mind and decided to venture the island. Then at 1 pm we returned and tried to see if we could get room keys. The gentleman at the front was upset and told me with a frustrated voice that it wasn’t 3pm yet. He didn’t even make the effort to call the housekeeping team to check the status. This was already a bad welcoming for someone that traveled long hours. Then at 3pm, after waiting in the lobby, I try to check again. The staff once again being rude and half bothersome asked how they could help. Advised once again that I was trying to check into my room. The hostess saw on the system the room wasn’t ready. They then called the housekeeping team found it to be ready since early in the day. Would not recommend this location due to hospitality.

The hotel itself had a pleasant island ambiance. The dining staff and housekeeping were pleasant. The front desk was NOT friendly, had poor communication skills, made charges without a valid reason, and had 0 accountability for poor customer service. The front desk is the first and last impression of an establishment. We are experienced, travelers. Easy to please. We know what good service is. For that reason, we will not return to the hotel.

Gran atención del personal son amables, cercanos y muy atentos

First off, We are experienced travelers who have been to many resorts in Mexico. By far, this island is one of the best and the local people and food and atmosphere were absolutely wonderful, but the hotel staff were not. First off, I paid a $165 dollar deposit to lock in the room for over a month. Multiple times I received emails verifying that I paid, and that I only owed $535 when I got to the hotel. When we go to the hotel, the front desk staff were not very nice, it was about 8:45 pm and for some reason they act like they are so busy and running a the entire hotel by themself. I was aware of the local tax, but I had to pay an additional $250 cash that I brought on top of the $500 taken from my card. Apparently, the $165 deposit was never taken. I didn't have time to argue, just a bad situation since cash is scarce on the island and I already had top fork out a substantial amount that I brought. Second, staff is the most unfriendly people I have ever met, never saying hi when you pass them, couldn't even show us to our room and all they do is point in a direction if you ask for something. Never getting off their seat to show you. I have never been to a hotel where you don't befriend staff, we even speak spanish and appreciate all they do, nope not these people. NEED HELP WITH CUSTOMER SERVICE. Thirdly, they charge for everything you could think of. Every item you use, towels, extra blankets, sodas in fridge they want a credit card on file. Food no good!

Great Hotel! Plenty of Space and sun loungers on the beach and pool and a great breakfast offering. Great Location for the beach too!

We've now stayed at the Villas HM Paraiso del Mar and its sister property next door (Villas HM Palapas del Mar). I prefer the Palapas--it's a bit newer I think and aesthetically more my style (and more expensive)--but both are great options on Holbox. Property is very clean and well maintained and the staff is really friendly and helpful but casual (in a good way). Great location on the beach--it's on a good part of the beach as it gets narrower and more affected by seaweed further from town. Great distance from town--walk in to the center in about 10 minutes on the sandy beach road. Really good, extensive breakfast included. I love that the beach isn't crowded--you don't have to rush down to claim chairs. Pool is small, but Holbox is about the beach as far as I'm concerned. Quiet, laid back, clean, pretty. I can't wait to go back!

Geweldige locatie. Alles erg netjes. Geweldig ontbijt en zeer vriendelijk personeel. Op loopafstand van het centrum (10min) maar qua locatie wel aan de rand. Strand recht voor het hotel met bedjes.

Super limpia y todo el personal bien amable y gustoso de apoyar. Fuimos muy bien tratadas dirante la estancia. Lo que no me gustó es que la calle para llegar al hotel está deplorable. Es una pena que los dueños de los hoteles no inviertan una cantidad mínima para que sea decente la entrada. No es posible que esté llena de hoyos y cemento …

La ubicación es excelente. Los alimentos son sabrosos y vastos. Extraordinaria es la atención del personal. La estancia es muy grata. Recomendable para descansar sin lugar a dudas.

Food was so so, we picked all inclusive option and the menu wasn’t actually “all inclusive”. Servers near the beach were great 5/5. As well as the bar near the beach. The rooms were very clean.

We liked the location. The rooms were nicely decorated with true Mexican architecture. The beach was nice. Staff was very good. But.... The food was not great. The coffee was terrible. The rooms had no towel bar or hook to hang towels or a bathing suit. Zero. No face towels either. An extra bath mat/towel for right when you walk into the room would be nice.

The food is great if you ordered from the menu. Buffet is ok. Service at the restaurant is terrible, but at the beach is great! The drink in the all inclusive are good. Not very good quality Mezcal or tequila, but they are ok.

We used the buffet a lot. The food options were diverse and changed every time. The food was very savorous. There were plenty of drinking options included with the all-inclusive. The staff was very kind. The room was cleant every morning. The hotel is two minutes away from the beach. We definitely advise this hotel. That’d be great that Expedia proposes a package including the transfer from the airport to the hotel (taxi to Chiquilá, ferry from Chiquilá to Holbox, and taxi from Chiquilá’s port to the hotel) to make travellers’ life even easier.

Todo Excelente, lo único que no te dicen al contratar el Todo Incluido es que llegando al Hotel , te dicen que el paquete TODO INCLUIDO QUE COMPRASTE ES EL BÁSICO , que si quieres puedes cambiar al PREMIUM por 20 Dls por persona por día , cosa que se me hace una estupidez que no digan antes de pagar tú paquete en línea

Excellent service and food

Property was super cool, staff were great, especially Enrique, however food was sub par and our accomodations was very basic, rustic... I would have not purchased the AI package as better food was easy to find downtown, however our stay overall was ok

Our 5th time here, we only wish the hotel had better coffee and better musica - some Mexican music would be better than English ;)
