Unfortunately, our experience at WC by The Beautique Hotels was poor enough that we checked out early and booked another hotel. One of our first disappointments was the bar. The hotel website advertises a bar as one of its facilities, but it was only open 9am to 3pm. I requested additional pillows in the morning of our second day. By 7pm they still hadn’t arrived, and after requesting them again, a member of staff entered our room whilst my partner was in the shower (I was out of the room). I emailed management explaining what had happened and received no response. The location was also disappointing. It’s around a 20 minute walk from central Lisbon (Praça do Comércio), through areas we found quite run-down. The metro line is directly outside, however we wanted to walk whilst on holiday. You can also hear the metro in the evenings beneath the hotel! If location is important, I’d recommend staying more centrally. While the hotel itself was pleasant, I’m surprised by the glowing recommendations. Our overall experience was extremely disappointing; we chose to leave and pay for another hotel following the privacy intrusion.

The hotel has a cool theme but it felt not so well maintained. It’s an older facility which is perfectly find but our room has a real problem with ants, they were everywhere. It just kind of felt icky to the point where we wore shoes inside the full time except in the bed. Overall it was fine because we ultimately didn’t spend that much time in the room.

A bit funny if a theme - bathroom themed? But it was very clean and it smelled lovely. In a decent location - a 20 minute walk from Alfama. But the booking was deceiving. I thought that I had booked a specific room because all 10 of the pictures except for one showed images of that room. There was only one photo that showed the room that we actually booked.. and it was incredibly small. Barely big enough to walk next to the bed. It worked because it was for just one night, but it felt like very sneaky marketing.

This hotel was walking distance to everything! The room was smaller than expected but very clean. The staff were super friendly and helpful and Milas (the attached cafe) was 10/10! We had the room cleaned and fresh towels daily! My only complaint would be only having one pillow each on the bed but that seems standard in Europe and we just asked and received a couple of extra pillows! Overall would definitely recommend this hotel!
