Karren and Darren were very very welcoming and attentive to all our needs. The cottage is charming beautiful and spotlessly clean. Parking was right outside the property, which was great as it was raining on arrival. They are very informative of the area and also have books maps and information on the area, for all activities. We were on the Argyll coastal road trip and stayed in eight Bed and breakfast establishments in all. Without doubt this was one of the best. The breakfast was also outstanding, all locally sourced ingredients, the apple and cider sausage was a stand out for me. Would definitely come and stay here again.

Had a most enjoyable stay at The Old Cottage with wonderful hosts Karen and Darren. Really comfy double bed & great shower. Had the benefit of a gorgeous roaring fire in spacious lounge area at night with lots of DVDs and a library of books about stuff to explore in the local area. Darren and Karen were such lovely people, warm , friendly and gave helpful tips about the locality. Breakfast was fabulous, tasty and varied. Would highly recommend this B&B and will definitely be back. Many thanks to Darren and Karen for an amazing break.

Friendly hosts full of useful information about places to visit, pamphlets books etc. Right near to beach, saw red squirrel and rabbits outside while having breakfast. Lovely scrambled eggs and husband thoroughly enjoyed his fry up. Local unusual jams to try as well. Very comfortable. Introduced us to other guests which was a lovely touch.
Friendly hosts full of useful information about places to visit, pamphlets books etc. Right near to beach, saw red squirrel and rabbits outside while having breakfast. Lovely scrambled eggs and husband thoroughly enjoyed his fry up. Local unusual jams to try as well. Very comfortable. Introduced us to other guests which was a lovely touch.

Incredible value. The breathtaking views, beach access, & seclusion help create a stunning retreat, but Karen & Darren’s thoughtful touches separate this stay from all others. This was by far our favorite place to stay during our trip in Scotland!

Wonderful stay. Perfect location next to Arduaine gardens and Melfort hotel. Our room was beautiful, peaceful and so comfortable. Darren and Karen are the perfect hosts. Excellent breakfast and facilities. Cannot recommend highly enough.

What a lovely place to stay! Darren and Karen are marvellous hosts, couldn't do enough to make our visit truly memorable. And the breakfasts were delicious, as well as superbly served. The view over the bay, and the local wildlife enjoying their breakfasts outside the window, added an extra charm ... Coupled to a superb restaurant at the hotel next door, not to mention the magnificent scenery and history of the area, we couldn't have found a more ideal place for a short holiday.

You haven't traveled until you've stayed at a Bed & Breakfast in the countryside. Our hosts have done an immaculate job with their property. The room felt almost too perfect to use! Wonderful breakfast, beautiful library and sitting area at the centre of the house. Great attention to detail throughout. Walking distance to a good quality dinner restaurant and bar. Gardens and the sea also a short stroll away. All in all a memorable part of our vacation.

Breakfasts were Top Class and very accommodating when we had a very early start one morning. Darren had a wealth of knowledge about places to see & best routes to take and where to see the wildlife. Also willing to lend us guides/books with us.

This is an excellent b&b in the country with views across the loch. Darren and Karen are very fine and friendly hosts. I am very happy to recommend if you want a rural stay about 30 minutes drive from Oban.

Quiet place on the ocean. Initially finding the location was tricky. Only one for option for dinner is the hotel next door. (Pretty good food) other options are 30 minutes away in Oban

Wonderful stay. Perfect location next to Arduaine gardens and Melfort hotel. Our room was beautiful, peaceful and so comfortable. Darren and Karen are the perfect hosts. Excellent breakfast and facilities. Cannot recommend highly enough.

What a lovely place to stay! Darren and Karen are marvellous hosts, couldn't do enough to make our visit truly memorable. And the breakfasts were delicious, as well as superbly served. The view over the bay, and the local wildlife enjoying their breakfasts outside the window, added an extra charm ... Coupled to a superb restaurant at the hotel next door, not to mention the magnificent scenery and history of the area, we couldn't have found a more ideal place for a short holiday.

Great location for visiting the Kilmartin valley and Oban, helpful and friendly hosts, lots of local info available at the property, good breakfast with lots of choice. Next door to a National Trust garden and a 4-star hotel with excellent meals

Where do we start! Idyllic location, lovely warm welcome, room v.clean & comfortable with ensuite and excellent views. Breakfasts were Top Class and very accommodating when we had a very early start one morning. Darren had a wealth of knowledge about places to see & best routes to take and where to see the wildlife. Also willing to lend us guides/books with us.

Had a most enjoyable stay at The Old Cottage with wonderful hosts Karen and Darren. Really comfy double bed & great shower. Had the benefit of a gorgeous roaring fire in spacious lounge area at night with lots of DVDs and a library of books about stuff to explore in the local area. Darren and Karen were such lovely people, warm , friendly and gave helpful tips about the locality. Breakfast was fabulous, tasty and varied. Would highly recommend this B&B and will definitely be back. Many thanks to Darren and Karen for an amazing break.

Quiet place on the ocean. Initially finding the location was tricky. Only one for option for dinner is the hotel next door. (Pretty good food) other options are 30 minutes away in Oban

Nice size rooms and bath. Breast was 5 start. The host were available to meet any need. Extensive knowledge of the entire surrounding area. Highly recommend.

The hosts could not have made us feel more welcome when we arrived. Darren and Karen are a wealth of information about places to go and see, locally and around Scotland. Our room was spotless and very comfortable. Quiet surroundings made our stay very peaceful. Breakfast was excellent and plentiful. We will not hesitate to stay here again should we be visiting the area.
The hosts could not have made us feel more welcome when we arrived. Darren and Karen are a wealth of information about places to go and see, locally and around Scotland.
