Seven Hotel

Fantastic stay at the Seven Hotel, in the lead up to our friends wedding. We arrived late and the reception staff helped us find a car parking space and opened up the back doors to make it easier to bring my bridesmaid dress/suits/cases/gifts to our room. They reserved us a lovely table in the window for dinner with the bride and groom and couldn't do enough for us. We had the meat platter in the bar area and it was delicious, along with the cocktails. Bar staff so friendly. The room was lovely and the air con was perfect on such a hot day. It's a great spot to watch the world go by on the lovely terrace out the front. We hope to return, our parents have since stayed in the suite with the huge balcony and they also had a fabulous stay.

Modern hotel facing the estuary with car parking. The staff are all very courteous and efficient. Nice bar, the restaurant is very good especially Sunday lunch(best Sunday lunch ever) comfortable bed, room with a view... What's not to love. 😁👌

Nice place bit expensive for what it provides and breakfast costs! Sea view is good. Parking spaces are tiny and if the other cars are badly parked represent a real problem. (If you are disabled get there early or ask the others to move.)

Received scam emails where someone had taken our details from the hotel and asked for card details, then kept receiving follow up emails but could not tell if these were also scams. One of the lifts were broken so it was a slow wait at times. On check in the first thing we noticed was the dirty cushion displayed in the middle of the bed with the fabric being all marked and pulled. There was also a stain on the duvet covers. The ‘sea view’ room was wildly different to the photograph advertised for that room type on Expedia, we had a view of cars parked outside, the roof below and the crumbling buildings that surrounded the hotel. There were only hand towels in the bathroom so we had to call to request towels that we could use for the shower. The inside of the bathroom door was filthy and clearly hadn’t been cleaned, it had lots of drip marks running down it. The room was so noisy, we could hear the lifts, showers and toilets in other rooms as well as noise from outside. None of this is was we would expect from the ‘luxury boutique’ hotel and photos advertised and would not book to stay again. Our room would have been cleaner if we were to stay at a budget chain hotel. I did send this complaint to the hotel along with photographs and they have ignored my email so I can only assume that they don’t care about their customers experience.

Average. Not sure why one would obscure the estuary view with a tv right in the window. Came back after dinner. Thought we'll have a drink in the bar. All doors to outside were closed (understandable as it's a neighbourhood), but can't understand why not switch the aircon on? The bar was simply an oven. Barstaff unprofessional by chucking bottles with a massive crash into the bin, same with some spoons or something they used to mix drinks. Clattering into the sink. Small area, noise carries. Glasses of wine massively overpriced. Should've have gone straight to the room, as we had wine, and there we could open the windows, and also switch on the aircon, instead if roasting downstairs. Interestingly there was quite a lot of noise from the next door bar, so confused why they couldn't open the doors in the Seven bar. If a guest tells you it's a special occasion(birthday), then leave a paper or something saying happy birthday on the bed. Not asking for freebies. And check the room. Our coffee station was almost empty, so to make coffee the next morning, I had to traipse down the corridor in my pajamas to ask for coffee and milk. And a checkout time of 11? That's so 20 years ago. Call yourself a boutique hotel? Even a Travelodge has a noon checkout!!! Shame, as it's all basic things. But if you cant get them right... I'll go to the Radisson next time. Certainly not worth it

Credit card deposit on check in was unexpected. I didn’t have a credit card with me and they couldn’t accept Apple Pay or a currency card that I did have. I as asked to pay a £50 cash deposit! I don’t understand the reason for this, by all means take a credit card details but why an unnecessary charge???? Parking outside the hotel is charged by the hour or £10 per day. Very clean and comfortable hotel, just the annoying credit card charge that is the only negative for me. Lovely room with great view.

Really nice hotel, in a convenient location, breakfast was ok but very expensive, also the bar was comfortable but again very expensive especially as i was given a double without asking.

Lovely venue with a comfy bed and great shower. The bar area is lovely, parking handy and the staff were great.

Hotel is being advertised as luxury boutique. There is no luxury. But it is at least clean and modern. Simple rather small rooms. No bathrobes provided. No spa, pool or gym. There is a bar and a restaurant. Restaurant seems to be very popular. Food is better than stereotypical UK fish and chips. Served and presented very nicely, maybe this is what "luxury" means. But as far as taste goes - not so much. Chef seems to think that adding a lot of butter can mitigate lack of flavor and dryness of fish and meats.

Room was clean and the food was amazing 10/10

Very friendly staff and very clean

Room had stained carpet and the shower head is so limescale it opened up everywhere all over my clothes to wear that evening. Asked for new bedding as wet and it took an hour to bring to us so couldn’t sleep until after 1am very dissatisfied

Ok stay Room was clean, internal fixtures a little tired, radiator in bathroom rusty Tiles in shower room grouting poor and dirty, shower grate had hair in it. Bed was hard an uncomfortable and pillows were low grade with no filling.

The staff were amazing and made us feel like we were the only ones there! Room was gorgeous had the sea view, bed was so comfy and the hotel was immaculately clean, would defo stay again

Staff friendly and helpful. Shower terrible in that it flooded the bathroom. Cramped bathroom having to walk around the door. No toilet roll holder. Shabby tray. Cgeap pillows terrible, like cotton wool. Good breakfast

One of the worst hotel experiences in the UK. The room was not cleaned, everything was used and dirty. During the night it was freezing and we could not turn the heating on as the fan was so dirty we started to cough. They charged us an extra £20 for a 40 minutes earlier check in as we had to attend on a wedding. I sent multiple messages to the hotel before and they did not care to reply. In the morning I wanted to take a shower and there was no hot water. Breakfast is also not included. We paid approx. £180 for a room for one night and we received a tiny room looking to a parking lot. Terrible hotel, disappointing staff and overall a horrible experience. Don’t waste your money and time.

Very well positioned for shopping and sightseeing. The hotel itself is very clean and comfortable.

Nice location, with a view of the water, very relaxing. Plenty of space in the room, though the WiFi didn't work great from the desk (and I was trying to work). Walking distance to everything, and nice friendly staff.

We booked the hotel foe a 2 night wedding stay. We upgraded to what we thought was a larger room. The room was incredibly small. The bed was a little bigger than a single bd. Fortunately ma and my wife are not big, if we were it would have not been a big enough bed. The shower room was also very small indeed, the complimentary toiletries were not the best.The view was very nice. We were woken @06:30 by a bunch of lads who thought itv was a good idea to have a party outside the reception front door, this happened to be below our room. When i mentioned this to reception, they replied they asked them to quite down but could not do a lot more as 2 of the party were residents at the hotel. maybe refusing to serve them would have helped the situation as the lads apparently had been drinking all night at the hotel bar.. Anyway would we book again, most definitely not.

The staff, views from the Sea view double we had for 2 nights, and the location were all brilliant but the bathroom was tiny, the interior setting in the room was somewhat inconvenient. We were told by the staff that each room is different and some bathrooms are the size of the room at check out. So may be I wasn’t the lucky one or those aren’t available at over £140 a night. The breakfast wasn’t included in the booking which is rare nowadays and there was no option of a breakfast buffet which was disappointing. Eventually, we decided to completely eat elsewhere. I expected more and was hence disappointed.

The bed was really comfortable, and the room was nice. Just lacked on a few touches, kettle wasn’t the best. Spare toilet roll left on top of the bin, has a roller blind but could do with curtains to block the light from the sides of the blind. The aircon made noise all night even though turned off. I my room must have been above the kitchen as was noisy in the night and morning. As much as the bed and pillows were great, I didn’t sleep well due to the noise. Ironing board was also broken.

The room was lovely and spacious with a beautiful design and great view, however we got rather warm in the night and trying to work the air conditioning was a little tricky! Parking was also quite scarce, so may think again before coming back

I honestly cannot fault this hotel It was a pleasure to stay here. It is in the perfect location with a short walk to Theatre and shops with an amazing view of the Thames estuary set on a quiet road with no through traffic, pretty much ticks all the boxes. All the staff were incredibly gracious and friendly. The food was a real surprise that was certainly a lot of talent and skills on show from the chefs. Food was perfect. It is very rare you come across a place that does everything well, but this is one of them. Many thanks to Sadiq and his gracious staff. Definitely be back again Kind regards Alan

It was good, I tried phoning 3 times during the day and no answer as wanted to decorate the room for my girlfriends birthday, I went and asked and he said they will do it, waited extra hours to go in but they still didn’t do it

Smoothest hotel stay I can recall. Both the female receptionist in the evening and her male colleague in the morning were friendly and super helpful. I can't recommend the hotel enough. The views from the room were gorgeous, too.

Friendly staff, upon all of my stays here. I had to give 4 stars purely based off of misinformation. Before my arrival I requested a steam iron. It was advised to ask reception for one, which will be provided. However, upon asking, they mentioned they do not have one in the property. This was then followed by not being able to connect to the kitchen for Room Service. Having said the above, the customer service is great, the staff are friendly on arrival and check out, and everything is well kept whenever I returned back to my room.

Its a nice hotel but quite expensive over £300 no breakfast included! This booking was for a newlyweds and i order a bottle of prosecco to be in the room upon arrival but unfortunately they forgot to put it even was already paid i have to call the reception a couple of times to check if the couple received the bottle Its was disappointed 😞

Staff were lovely and polite, room was okay design was beautiful but it was so hot in the room even with the small aircon machine their was food left outside the lift from when I checked in at 3 and was still their when I come back at 22:00 but was gone by the morning, we brought 2 drinks which were ridiculously priced at £27.50 considering I had asked for a single spiced rum, which I did call the hotel about and they said they would get back to me about this but haven’t heard anything since as I believe they charged us for 2 50l priced at £9 each shot. The view from my room wasn’t pleasant as it over looked peoples gardens. The bed was rock hard but the pillows were amazing. Staff were so lovely though nothing to complain about on that front

Lovely hotel with very helpful staff. Great location. We had a toddler with us and the hotel staff were great with her. We felt very welcome.

Staff were friendly and very attentive. Hotel was clean and modern and near the town and attractions. The food was amazing.

I've used the hotel several times for work in the past year and my company use this for staff staying in Southend. When you check in they ask for a swipe of a credit card. 6 weeks after my stay I was checking my credit card statement and noticed a £50 charge from Seven. I called them to query this I was told a coffee tray was missing after my stay and they charged me £50 and accused me of stealing it. How dare they, I never even touched the thing. I received no communication regarding the charge and now taking the matter further. Never stay at this hotel unless you want to be accused of being a thief.

Everything was fine ! Checkout staff was not the friendliest, but check in staff was kind and friendly.

Well located in a smart and quiet area but close to the holiday hotspots

The rooms were beautiful. I’d suggest getting a sea view if any are available to really enjoy your stay. The staff was awesome. Super friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable.

Just came home from a gorgeous 1 night stay at Seven Hotel. The location is gorgeous, overlooking the seafront and conveniently close to Adventure island and the cliff lift! The staff were brilliant the whole time, super easy check-in, extremely polite and friendly towards my 3 year old. The room was very spacious and clean, with comfy bed and overhead shower in the en-suite. The air con was a great addition and we had a lovely sea view. Finally the breakfast, quite possibly the best Advocado and toast I've ever had! Huge credit to the chef and the whole team. I would highly recommend staying at Seven Hotel :)

This is a modern upscale hotel right near Adventure Park in Southend. The hotel is clean and has a bar and restaurant serving tasty food.

Amazing view from the balcony! Clean, staff were amazing! The area was perfect. Shopping mall & beach was 5 mins walk. Southend entertainment 10mins walk. It was a perfect getaway!

Beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable. Nice bar and excellent restaurant. Seriously, the food is amazing. Good location, short walk from the pier etc but very quiet and peaceful.

What a beautiful hotel with first class friendly staff and absolutely lovely food

The room was clean. Staff very helpful. Restaurant very pricey though. The food is of an excellent standard, but the portions are so small. The shower in the room is problematic. It doesn't drain away very well. I thought the water was going to overflow into the main room. It didn't, but it could be a future issue. Overall, my partner and I had a good stay though.

Pretty much faultless, the food offerings were very nice - I had one breakfast and one lunch both terrific, and the staff unendlessly helpful. The room was nice with a good view of the sea etc. very relaxed atmosphere and clearly a class above most hotels

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The room was clean, comfortable, and beautifully presented. The food in the restaurant was excellent, with a great variety of options. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, making the experience even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel for a relaxing and pleasant stay.

The hotel was immaculate and the room was attractive and comfortable. The restaurant, Aurum, ruined our stay. We waited 30 minutes to even order drinks and had to chase up the order when it didn’t arrive. Drinks and starters arrived in dribs and drabs. I am vegan and one of the two vegan starter options was unavailable. I had mushroom risotto for my main which was underwhelming and I’ve made myself better risotto at home (I’m not a chef!). Similarly at breakfast time, we sat for 25 minutes before my husband placed our breakfast orders directly with the kitchen. Eventually a waiter took our drink orders. My husband’s drink arrived 15 minutes later and mine 25 minutes later (I’d only ordered a cup of tea!). Eventually our breakfasts arrived missing mushrooms (quite a main part of an English breakfast and listed on the menu). No one asked how our meal was so we didn’t get the opportunity to mention this until a waiter desperately tried to clear the table when my husband popped to the toilet. The waiter asked if we wanted the mushrooms but by that point we’d almost finished our breakfasts. The toast was I buttered and no butter provided and again, no opportunity to request this as there was only one waiter serving the restaurant and he was out of the room most of the time. The couple on the table next to us were discussing leaving to eat elsewhere as they were also left waiting as if they were invisible. Service charge is included in all bills.

Location ideal with estuary view if required. Short walking distance from the 2 rail stations and town. Rooms not too spacious but adequate and very contemporary. Great shower in the en suite bathroom. Comfy bed. The breakfast was well presented and tasty, although my sausage was undercooked. Not what you would expect for the high price.
