Good location near the train. Room was nice sized, but the bed was hard as a rock and the room was hot. Had the windows open as no air conditioning, and the noise from the road below kept us awake. The shower had mold in the corner. The coffee, water, and vending machines in the lobby all had signs saying they were out of order.

Extremely practical mini-kitchen. It was a time and money saver. Bed was really comfy. So was the bedding, once I requested a second pillow. The reception is closed during the weekend and there is no luggage storage available. I had contacted the hotel before my stay and it was suggested as a possibility that I could use the lockers at the Main Train Station. This is not an option! Not enough lockers, too many travellers trying to find one that is available. It is a real probability you will end up carrying your suitcase until check-in. I strongly suggest to the hotel management to add a secured luggage room to their facilities. Otherwise, everything was good. I would recommend to friends.

Great value for money in central location however for all of my seven days stay NONE of the refreshment machines in the lobby worked and no body cared or bothered to fix them I have pictures of the defective machines but no options to upload them. I feel I should receive partial refund as I did not receive the service I had paid for.

The studio space was great for the two weeks I needed. Modern and clean (ignoring the common hall carpets), friendly and helpful staff, decent and affordable laundry machines in the basement, perfect location for catching all sorts of public transportation, dining, shopping, etc. The main issue would be no A/C or way to adjust the heat, but opening the window does help except then it’s very, very loud outside. The temperature is manageable in the colder months, but this would not be an option for the warmer months. An in-unit fan would be nice. Overall, I would recommend this place as long as you know your temperature preferences. It’s really everything else you need.

We really enjoyed staying at Smartments apartments. Its location next to the Main Train Station (Hauptbahnhof) was quite convenient, and having a kitchenette was a great bonus. The apartment was clean, comfortable and the walls were sound proof. We got more toilette paper from the supplies room using our room key when we ran out. Purchasing coffee was also easy at the front desk for the espresso machine in the room. The front desk was helpful and answered all our questions during the week but there was nobody in the weekend. Only incident we saw was one of the tenants got stuck in the elevator during the weekend, and it took a while till she was saved. We stopped using the elevator after that incident just in case. We will definitely go there again if we ever return to Vienna.

Clean Close to transport Laundry facility

The whole point of booking this hotel was to store our stuff before our train but they did not allow that. Like Um? We had to go to the central station to figure out the storage ourselves just to figure out that there was NO STORAGE?!?!? We called them again to see if they can accommodate us because of the lack of storage and they said they cannot do anything about it like what is the point of your existence?? L hotel.

But they suggest storing luggage through Radical Storage and offer you a discount. Radical storage finds you stores to leave your luggage but this is problematic as the first store I went to was closed and turns out the owner was on holidays (thanks to Google lens for translating). It was cold and raining and my luggage got wet standing outside and waiting for Radical customer support to find me another place. I asked them to find me the next closest place and they booked me somewhere that was a 10-15 minute walk away in the rain. Not a pleasant experience. The hotel should not be endorsing this method of luggage storage. Additionally, Netflix wasn't working on the TV and when I asked for support, there was no communication.

Perfect location. Easy access and clear instructions. Property seemed not perfectly managed and appeared to be not properly cleaned. So many dirty wall marks. Also hair dryer with sticky dirt all all over.

Perfectly clean room, amazing location close to train station and all the most beautiful places you need to see. Friendly staff absolutely recommend when you travel to Vienna

Found food in microwave & shopping bags with garbage in the closets A coffee cup was chipped & a drinking glass was badly cracked. No tea kettle. No sponge to clean with. No soap dish in shower. Not enough light in kitchen area…too dark.

Overall the condition is very good and new but the shower wall has stains which can bee seen clearly accumulated for some time because of fungus. It won't be exist if it is cleaned every time. However, I really like the location and the in-room setting with free coffee offering. By the way, I forgot my yogurt in the fridge, hope someone or the staff can enjoy the lactose free yogurt:-)

Horrible Stay: Cockroaches, No Support, and Misleading Communication. My spouse and I had an awful experience during our stay at Smartments Wien Hauptbahnhof from October 4–7, 2025. Communication with the property was nearly impossible from the beginning. I tried several times through WhatsApp and other channels to arrange an early check-in, but received no clear response for hours. When we finally checked in, we were shocked to find cockroaches and other bugs, including on the bed and surrounding surfaces. The property states that no staff is available on weekends, but there is an emergency line — unfortunately, it was completely useless. We called, texted, and emailed repeatedly, but no one ever replied. Even Hotels.com tried contacting them on our behalf and couldn’t get through to anyone. Adding to the frustration, their automated text bot was misleading, repeatedly assuring us that “our message had been forwarded to the team” and that someone would contact us shortly. We trusted that response and waited, but no one ever followed up. We eventually had to leave early because the conditions were unsanitary, unsafe, and completely unacceptable. This experience caused enormous stress and nearly ruined our trip. Until Smartments fixes its pest issue and implements real customer support instead of an unresponsive bot, I strongly recommend avoiding this property.

Nice, quiet, clean

The check in was good. Communication all good. Easy to find. Really near to the railway station and walking distance to centre. Rooms were very clean and smelled fresh. Had everything you needed.

Für einen kurzen Aufenthalt sehr gut. Mit kleiner Küche zum selbst kochen. Abzug gibt es für den Zustand des Flures, der Teppich war komplett mit Flecken übersät. Die vorhandene Karaffe war leider nicht sauber mit Fingerabdrücken etc. und Haare auf dem Boden. Sonst war alles sauber.

Good value and good size. Good location near Wien train station. Only one negative, but it's a big one. No air conditioning. The temperature was 35° so we had to buy an extra electric fan. They need to trade in the dishwasher and install AC. Who needs a dishwasher on vacation?

Hotel is clean and next to train station. Price is reasonable. The height of the room is the issue because the footstep of upper floor can be heard clearly. I had bad luck because the guest of my upper floor couldn’t stop walking until midnight.

Apartment style hotel near the train station which was convenient. Small room with all the amenities of a kitchen. Room faced a busy street and was very warm so we had to open the windows and it was noisy. No actual reception area but we appreciated the help in checking in by a staff member. Close to many dining options.

Rommet var 28kvm. og hadde kjøkken med det meste av tilbehør. Oppvaskmaskin,microbølge,platetopp,kaffemaskin etc..Rent og bra. Kort vei til matbutikker og veldig sentralt for kommunikasjon. Bad med dusj.Fungerte veldig bra for mitt ukeslange opphold.

Under the right conditions, this is a good place to stay. HOWEVER, we encountered the following: no safe, no attended front desk to leave valuables, no air conditioning, poor ventilation, and unresponsive management. We checked in on a Saturday when the only communication was a chatbot. Despite being a nonsmoking room, the room’s air was smoky, masked by air freshener. In a few hours, the freshener disappeared and the room reeked of cigarettes. Turns out that there is no source of air except the window, which provided no ventilation on a calm day. We requested a room change through their 24/7 chat and was told that the request would be forwarded so that it could be handled promptly. I also contacted Expedia and was told I should have requested a nonsmoking room — rather redundant for a nonsmoking hotel. I was contacted the next day by the hotel about 20 hours later. They said they had problems with the ai chat. I lost contact with them for another 20 minutes while arranging the room change. The new room was fine and had a fan. SO: if the prior occupants didn’t smoke up the room, the weather isn’t warm or hot, you don’t need fresh air at night, and you have no need for assistance outside their very limited hours, then it’s a great place to stay — with an unexpected laundry room for washing your own clothes in the basement.

Great location! But there was no air conditioner in the room. It was very hot and stuffy even with the window opened and the fan turned on. Hard to sleep at night.

Everything was great. Except for the bed which was a bit too narrow for 2 adults. Great hotel. Great location.

Need to get air-conditiong . It gets very hot during day even in September. Moreover , if you open the windows, being on busy street & being near to train station , you can’t sleep. However, it fas exellent is well linked with public transport

Humanless front desk relies on glitchy beta software - with no real person backup. Intriguing concept, but they need working software or real humans.

The sole negative aspect was checking in. No staff member is present at Reception on the weekends. I found someone to help me. Was in my room by 11 a.m. Expedient. No one should have to wait until 3 p.m. Mercedes at Reception, during the week,was very pleasant & helpful. Very disappointing that there is no Air Conditioning. But, survived the ghastly humidity using the upright oscillating fan. Loved the kitchenette. Everything at one's fingertips.You could make a full course neal,if desired. Proximity to Main Bahnhof was a PLUS! A 2 minute walk to access subway lines & all trains & trams. We went to Budapest & Prague. Easy to purchase all tickets at Bahnhof...for all travel. Spar, as well as Billa are a stone's throw from the hotel. ALL one's food needs are readily available. I recommend Smartments. Would definitely stay again. Easy 10 minute walk to the Vienna Military Museum...NOT to be missed. Other main attractions are a short walk away. Also, take subway,then tram to Grinzing. Charming, suthentic "Heurigen" establishments to dine at. Then take bus up higher,hike in forest, & be treated to spectacular views of Vienna,from up on high. EXPLORE & BE CURIOUS, PEOPLE!!

Good size room and location for the price. But zero communication from the location, a run down interior. I had several questions that were sent via text as requested, which were just never answered or acknowledged.

Communication and check-in or an absolutely horrible process. Their “AI” assistant is just a regular old customer support chat. Can’t do anything for you. It will just say “” and then no one will get back to you. DO NOT book this hotel if you plan on arriving evenings or weekends. At the Wien Hauptbahnhof location there is an actual human at the front desk during weekday daytime hours. It probably would be fine if you arrive during those hours. I arrived Sunday, and there was no one around. I was able to get in, but the slight price discount was not worth the stress. I will avoid these in the future.

Perfect location for a night near the train station

Over many years I've stayed here lots of times and it's still my favourite option for a hotel in Vienna. The location, down a short street from the main train station, underground and bus connections is truly fantastic. And the place itself is perfect for what I need: safe, quiet, clean and offering a small kitchen area so that I don't have to eat in restaurants for every meal - both cheaper and more relaxing.

I gave this four stars. For the price, it is five. Self check-in was easy. A block and a half from the Hauptbahnhof station. Good, varied dining options within a few blocks. Common areas in the building were a little worn, but our little apartment was clean and comfortable, including a small refrigerator, double burner stove and a microwave.

Everything was great, clean and newly furnished rooms, all amenities provided. Very close to central train station and well connected to the city via transport. Good dining options around. Would be my go to if I visit Vienna again.

밤에 도착하니 아무도 없고 큐알을 대봐도 건물 문은 열리지 않고 들어가는 방법을 몰라서 추운데서 떨고있었음. 마침 누군가 나올때 문이 열려서 겨우 들어감. 그것만 빼고는 침대도 편안하고 역에서 가깝고 따뜻해서 4일간 잘 머무름.

Walking distance from train station, good restaurants close. Easy to get to main tourist attractions. Never interacted with any staff, all done online. Easy Peasy

Very close to Vienna Main train station, which in contrary to the area of many other European train stations is rather quiet and clean. The area also offered numerous supermarkets and various good restaurant options within close vicinity.
