PACIFIC 19 Kona

I felt the price was very reasonable for this hotel. The king sized bed was very comfortable, and I really enjoyed having a balcony. The pool area was nice and well kept, and I thoroughly enjoyed the morning yoga sessions. I also made sure to take advantage of the complimentary coffee in the morning. If simple coffee isn’t your thing, there was a coffee truck right outside of the hotel as well. My only complaints would be that I thought there could have been some more attention to detail when it comes to cleanliness. This is by no means a dirty hotel, but there were a couple stains on the sheets, and the bathroom could’ve used another wipe down. The parking isn’t as bad as we were led to believe it would be. We rented a Jeep Wrangler, and it was a tight squeeze, but we managed. Anything bigger would not have fit though. Overall, I would definitely consider staying here again. If you are staying here, check out the Packer’s themed bar right next door!

Limited parking on the property. There is a paid lot across the street, which was deducted from the cost.

Pros: * Clean modern rooms * We were able to do early check in * Beach towels available to borrow * Balcony has drying racks for things like swim trunks * Good view, actually we could see the ocean despite only thinking we would be able to see the town itself. Did we get upgraded and not told? Cons: * The shower was the worst I've encountered, constantly having to adjust temperatures as one second it would go from scalding hot to ice cold. Clearly the boiler in the building needs some work. * Clear lack of parking enforcement creates a nightmare on busy days. Came back one evening to find every spot was full even though we had paid for parking. We saw a number of cars the who are parking in the lot without permit. Security doesn't seem interested is solving the cause of issue, made up a new parking spot for us to park in to resolve our concerns. Some of the vehicles and people I've seen roaming through the lot gave me some safety concerns as well. Maybe the property should invest in some gates like the hotel across the street.

I liked that they had pool toys and some amenities to take to the beach. Very close walking distance to the beach and local great food options.

Absolutely lovely stay here. The pool was beautiful and the chairs were comfortable. The bed was very comfy and the room was impeccably clean. The hotel grounds are very well maintained and lovely. The hotel staff was very friendly and the amenities were top notch. Attended the morning yoga class by the pool which was great. The morning coffee was tasty. The partial ocean view was delightful and we spent a lot of time relaxing on the balcony. Easy walk to the ocean for some swimming after yoga. Restaurants and bars are an easy walk away. 10/10 highly recommend!

No parking was available had to pay a lot more for parking at another hotel and walked the distance to get to room

Cool hotel. Likely will be great as they continue to renovate it. Was extremely disappointed that the pool was closed the whole time during our 3 night stay. Lobby and their planned events were great (yoga, Hawaiian singers etc). The rooms looked good but the bathroom was decaying slightly.

The parking system was so annoying and confusing and poorly explained. Also coffee in the room would be much better than going to get it. Everything else was fine.

So nice hotel for the price and a blocks walk to the water. Parking is 25 a night so not terrible to have a guaranteed spot to park. Pool is nice open 9 to 9. No microwave in the room or coffee maker, they offered to send a microwave up when we checked in and we never received it. Beds comfy, room clean, staff nice

Very convenient close to airport. This was our stay hotel for a night when arriving, was close to rental car pick up. It was also our stay hotel before departing. We stay in Kona for 10 days in a resort. Hotel is basic but convenient. Only one receptionist, long line took a long while to check in. Parking is $25 per night. overall a 3 star hotel.

Unnecessary “resort fee” , doesn’t include parking - outrageous for the quality of room! Smelled like mildew and towels were not clean

The room we stayed in was very musty. I realize it's humid in Hawaii, but out of the 4 accommodations we stayed in (1 not having AC) this was moldy smelling. My husband got very sick with allergies and asthma related issues while we stayed in this room. We had the AC running to dehumidify the room, but that almost made the mold smell worse. We tried to shut off the AC and open the door, but that brought out the stale musty smell. When I let the front desk know, they said they would tell maintenance.

The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the location was good.

Put it this way: we had a towel in our room with blood on it. Just gross. But you can’t believe the location.

The hotel itself was decent, but unfortunately, my stay was ruined by unexpected guests—cockroaches in my room. I reported the issue to the night staff, but they took no action. When I requested compensation, they simply told me to speak with the manager in the morning. I followed up with the morning crew, only to be told the manager wasn’t available and there was nothing they could do. I had a flight to catch and couldn't stay to resolve the issue. Bottom line: DO NOT STAY HERE—this place clearly has a roach infestation and poor customer service.

Nice location, liked the design and room clean and comfortable. Found three small cockroaches in the room. Arrived late, left early, did not take advantage of the amenities’ but still had to pay the $25 per day resort fee. Good Kona coffee in the morning but no complimentary breakfast..

Was greeted by a disgusting bug coming in after dinner. Silver fish or roach. No hand soap and no parking.

on the whole, the hotel is clearly an older hotel that has been renovated well and it’s a pretty decent location. However, the biggest issue was there AC units, which are antiquated window units, which do not function well, and would often make extremely loud noise every hour, making sleep impossible.

We were staying in town one night before flying home from our 2 week Hawaiian vacation. We wanted some place walkable to restaurants and local shops and this place worked well. We enjoyed the pool. The rooms were very cramped and it was obvious the building is a little older.

I didnt like the facr that I'm charged for ammenities that I didn't use. I should have been given the choice to use the pool or not. That's just another way to gouge the customer. Pools used to be a luxury. Guest should be able to park free also. Highway robbery

We were on the street side. It was so loud. Also the room 3110 right by the elevator. Very noisy stay. Ask for a better room. The bed is very comfortable and the room very clean.

Nice clean, spacey, comfortable room. Door electrical key sometimes trouble working. Good parking, close to good tourist attractions, restaurants. BUT. . . very noisy air conditioner and traffic noise.

It is clean and has everything we needed, staff was friendly and bed was comfortable. The property is old but freshly remodeled-shower was old and didn’t work well, tv was glitchy and the window air conditioner was placed at head of bed so you can’t close the curtains-light was in our face as soon as the sun came up. Just not the best room layout but overall was nice and clean.

This is a fine motel just a couple short blocks up from the main Kona town tourist strip. It is a solid 2.5 stars. Rooms are large with balconies. Bed was comfortable. Internet free and fast. Down sides: ac was a very noisy wall unit, no coffee maker in room. They did add $50 for parking and amenities. So bottom line higher than suggested on website.

I like the balcony and the view is amazing. The room doesn't have a coffee pot, or a microwave.

Rooms a bit tired and dated. Hotel needs new carpeting.

I didn't like the fact I had a constant light coming into my room from another property. Had to sleep with a face mask.

Front desk gal at check-in was unhelpful and had vibes of self centered adolescent. Front desk guy at checkout was excellent.

On arrival before we had even gotten out of our car, the security guard came up and began harassing us. He was rude, assumed we didn’t have a reservation, and tried to make us leave the premises. Once we made it inside the person at the front desk fully ignored us for a few minutes and took a whole call (not placing the person on hold) after I had spoken to her and attempted to check in. Then there was an additional $25 fee at check in for “amenities.” On inquiry these amenities are that a yoga class happens (not during my stay) and there is coffee in the lobby in the morning. The fee must be paid whether you use or desire these amenities. However, the basic in room amenities were absent -no coffee maker or microwave in the room and the drawers in our room were removed and had been replaced with plastic crates. It was unclear if this was a terrible design choice or just laziness. Either way it wasn’t functional. Also, the room was tiny and the beds were full not queen sized beds. It was also very apparent that the hotel has had a flip at some point to make it look modern. In the lobby and outdoor areas this was well done and of course the listing images look great. Unfortunately, that care does not continue to the rooms which looked dingy and half done (screws hanging out, floating ceiling only partially installed). The housekeeping staff was lovely and the person who checked us out in the morning was friendly and helpful. Overall, this hotel was the worst part of my trip.

When we arrived at the hotel at 9pm to check-in to our rooms, we were told that no guests could check in due to an IT system outage. Numerous guests, including my group, were forced to wait in a very hot and humid lobby without any AC or any definitive updates regarding when guests could check in to rooms. After this entire ordeal, all we wanted was a clean room to rest in after a long day, but we were greeted by a stained cover sheet, a stain on the wall, a sticky patch on the nightstand, and weak air conditioning system. Additionally, we were informed at 11pm, after settling into our room, to move our already parked car from the onsite parking location, right next to our hotel, to an overflow parking location at a different hotel at least a 5 min walk away without in-and-out privileges. Additionally, the staff were not very clear about the need for this parking arrangement, or where the overflow parking was, which made the whole arrangement that much more frustrating.

The staff was very helpful and friendly. Check in process and the checkout process was super easy.

I have stayed there twice in both times they have charged me for mini bar items and a T-shirt I bought in the lobby that I never purchased. Do not give them your credit card information, they will rack up whatever they can.

Our refrigerator was not working upon arrival. A call to the front desk immediately produced maintenance who unfortunately was unable to correct. He quickly went to front desk who gave us another room,better than the first,with everything functioning as it should. That’s great service!

There were four front desk people when we tried to talk to and they were very impatient. Younger front desk lady put us in a basement room without telling us how the room looks like, and there was no view from the window. After getting back, I was trying to call them back about billing. But the guy on the phone says sorry we cannot help because you booked through hotels.com and you need to talk to them. To my understanding, every charge after we got there was through the hotel directly. Very unsatisfactory customer experiences. And there is actually a resort fee and parking fee paying at the property while I didn't see a thing when I booked it initially. I do not recommend this hotel overall.

The property is in a great location. It’s pretty good value for money although there was an added “guest fee” daily that when I asked what it was actually for they didn’t say, they just said it’s a resort fee. Feels like that should be included upfront when you first pay. They only cleaned our room once in 6 days… And we had to ask them to do it, so I’m surprised there’s a guest fee when their service is pretty terrible. The parking situation was a nightmare, again quite expensive and the spaces are too small so cars were really crammed in next to each other. It’s worth it for a couple of days but I wouldn’t stay longer than that. Also the lobby was always empty, there was rarely anyone behind the desk so if you needed a new key for your room or had questions sometimes it was difficult to find someone to help out.

SECURITY DEPOSIT NO REFUND This place charges you $100 security deposit and does not refund you even if you did not break anything and asked for refund! $100 deposit has been on my statement for almost a month and consulted my bank only thing I can do is to wait for them to remove charge. I called the hotel and was responded in very rude manner that they did it already “automatically” when I checked out and refused to check refund status when I asked them to

We first found this hotel a year ago and have continued to use them ever since. They are very well priced and the location is in the heart of it all.

Close to downtown Kona on the beach with nice shopping and large selection of restaurants, bars, coffee, shops and access to the breaking waves

Renovated MCM hotel with chill island vibe. Loved the bay view from our room. Would definitely stay here again. Great location close to everything.

This is a fantastic location. It is very walkable, has many delicious restaurants and easy parking. The staff was super nice and answered all our questions about the area. Plus, they had great coffee in the morning.

The hotel was modern, comfortable and very clean. The staff were happy to help. They even gave us an umbrella to go out for a meal on our last night. The hotel is in a great position near the pier, bars and restaurants ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Excellent location within walking distance of Historic Kona and many dining, shopping options. Also across the street from the King Kamehameha Hotel which features the luau by Island Breeze Productions.

Check-in was easy. The staff is friendly and explained the parking situation well. I missed the free coffee hours in the morning as it is only available from 6-9am. Since there is no coffee in the rooms I wish coffee was available in the lobby longer. The beds were a little on the firm side. A/C worked great. Ample supplies were available for showering. The pool looked nice but I checked in later in the evening and stayed only one night so I didn’t get a chance to use it. The common areas between rooms are very serene and relaxing with beautiful bamboo trees.

The male receptionist was very congenial and helpful. The women (3 which were present during our stay) were very aloof and did not seem to have ' the aloha spirit '. The pool area was very nice, clean and inviting. Of the 5 mornings we were there, coffee was only available on-time one morning. The others were 30 to 60 minutes late. On all days the coffee would run out after only 3 or 4 cups were filled, even though there were usually 3 large pots. The staff seemed to be relatively unconcerned about it - which led us to believe it was a regular occurrence. Since there is not coffee in the rooms, you have to rely on their coffee or go out and buy some. This is one of the items you are paying the extra money each day for - the customer should have a bit more consideration since we paid for it. The facility overall was fine - great location - but we will not stay there again because of the 'other' issues.

The hotel itself is in a great area. The pool area is nice and staff is wonderful. However, the room we stayed in was overlooked storage containers and was very disappointing. The room itself felt dated and was very difficult to get cool. We had to wait for coffee in the morning, which was disappointing and sad to say not really great coffee. All together the hotel is convenient and in a wonderful location.

The location and price was reasonable for the area. It’s next to a large Marriott where our luau show was held, so we could walk there. Close to the water shore, shopping , and restaurant choices within walking distance. No coffee pot on the room but free coffee in the lobby in the AM. No hotel bar. No hotel restaurant. But it worked for me. I like supporting a more local business.
